#Cannes2015: Dior in Cannes

On Wednesday I posted a post about designer styling suites. Yesterday I saw a video of the crafting of the Dior Beauty suite inside the Majestic Hotel. The likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, Marion Cotillard, & yesterdays best dressed Charlize Theron all will go through this suite before taking to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals for their respective premieres. Inside a suite such as this will also be racks of Dior Couture for these ladies, and others, to wear on the red carpet during the course of the festival. So far Dior is two for two with Natalie Portman at the Opening Ceremony and Charlize Theron at the "Mad Max: Fury Road" premiere, and I am hoping that there are many more amazing red carpet moments from Dior in store. One thing is for sure, that the ladies taking a break from the festival in this Dior Beauty suite are doing so in style.

#Cannes2015: Designer Styling Suites

 The glamour of Cannes is really insurmountable. The amount of stars all vying to wearing the hottest designer couture is unlike any other event, I feel even surpassing the Academy Awards. Inside the Martinez hotel, across the street from the Palais de Festivals and the famous stairs into the theaters, brands have been setting up styling suites. One of the brands that has a beautiful suite in the Hotel Martinez is Elie Saab. The designer has been setting up shop in Cannes to dress celebrities for many years and this year they are giving us a look into the suite. Filled with looks from the designers couture, ready-to-wear, resort, and pre-fall collections past and present; anyone who visits the Elie Saab suite has a luxurious experience ahead of them. One can stop at the Elie Saab suite pick up a gown, a pair of shoes, a handbag, and try any of the Elie Saab fragrances before running to the Palais for the red carpet. This suite will see the likes of Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai (among many others) before this years festival wraps.

 Elie Saab is not the only brand that sets up shop in a suite at the Hotel Martinez. The likes of Roberto Cavalli, Atelier Versace, Valentino, and Marchesa all set up luxurious suites to draw stars and stylists in to pick out gowns to wear on the red carpet. Some of the major PR brands like KCD and Starworks also set up suites and bring in many of their brands to send down the Croisette. Probably the biggest suite, though unconfirmed, in the Hotel Martinez is Chopard. The jewelry brand is one of the festivals main sponsors and most of the stars that walk the red carpet and they set up a luxurious suite to showcase all of their creations to the celebrities. Up on the top floor of the Hotel Martinez L'Oreal Paris sets up shop to do the hair and makeup for all of the L'Oreal Paris spokesmodels that take to the red carpet during the festival to add an added ounce of glamour to the festival.

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!!!

Wow! This is a surreal moment. I really want to take a quick moment to thank every single one of my followers, those that know me and continue to follow and those that have stumbled across and keep coming back for more, and all those that just come from a search and might not stay or come back. Each of you has helped make my blog that much more successful. I have to thank my friends, family, and colleagues that have helped me. There are a lot of things on the horizon for If I Was A Stylist and I am hoping that each and every one of you will continue to stick with me as I continue to build and improve If I Was A Stylist. Again I say thank you, I would never have gotten to the point that I am now without all of you and you have no idea how thankful that I am for each and every one of you!

I'm Going to New York Fashion Week!

Hey everyone! If you are reading this then I am either currently in the air or already in New York City for New York Fashion Week. This was such a surprise. I had gotten a few invitations and wasn't going to be able to go, but thanks to my wonderful sister I am getting the opportunity to make it to New York Fashion Week for the first time ever to take in the Fall/Winter 2014 Ready-to-Wear collections as they take to the runway. I might not be going to see Oscar de la Renta, Marc Jacobs, and Marchesa but I will be taking in a bunch of the more up and coming brands like Houghton, Yuna Yang, and Sally LaPointe. Each night before I go to bed I will write about the shows I saw in brief, my outfit(s) for the day, and all my adventures. I will be doing the full runway reports for all the shows I go to and all the big shows. Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July to all of my American readers! I have been out celebrating with friends and family and have not been able to get the pictures edited or a story written for today! I will be back tomorrow with my another Resort 2014 Wish List and then on Saturday I will be posting my Top 10 Looks from Fall 2013 Couture Fashion Week! All my favorites are posted on Twitter but I will have to pair down the over 20 looks to just 10! Hope you all have a fabulous day! I am also sending out a great amount of gratitude to all the men and women who follow this blog that are members of the United States Armed Forces past, present, and future!

Michelle Obama to wear the Resort 2014 Collections

In today's Resort 2014 wish list I am sending out good vibes for American designers to dress the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama is one of my favorite ladies to see take to the world stage because she does have quite the sense of style and is the perfect mane quin to represent American fashion and designers. One designer that I am surprised the First Lady has not donned in the past is famed evening wear designers Badgley Mischka. While she may not have worn the brand in the past this vibrant purple to fuchsia ombre-esque Badgley Mischka Resort 2014 gown with a beaded bodice would be a perfect look for Michelle for the likes of a State Dinner or other formal White House function.

Following the glamorous evening gown I have a look for when the First Lady stand behinds a lectern and speaks during functions that are hosted at the White House and beyond. This Carolina Herrera Resort 2014 ensemble which consists of a black halter neck top with white and gold floral beading paired with white wide leg trousers would be a great look for the Michelle. She is the first First Lady in decades that has taken the liberty of showing off her toned arms and shunning the stereotypical "First Lady Suit" that her formers wore for almost all public appearances and for that I thank her because she really has kept the last 4 1/2 years interesting always keeping the world on their feet as they wait to see what the First Lady will wear next.

One thing that we usually don't see from the First Lady is a stray from classic style evening wear for State Dinners and other formal political functions which is a shame because there are a number of printed designs that would look amazing on Michelle, case and point this amazing black, white, and blue Christian Siriano Resort 2014 ball gown with a geometric lined printed skirt. This is an amazing look and I really have no doubts that it will be picked up for someone to wear to a premiere or awards show but I think that Michelle Obama would look absolutely 'Fierce' to steal the designers signature term for an event like the Kennedy Center Honors wearing this fabulous design.

And finally we have a tropical printed silk chiffon button down blouse and a pair of white trousers with a blue waistband and tuxedo stripe from the Rachel Roy Resort 2014 collection. This look is a typical look for the First Lady when she is out visiting Schools, Veterans, or any other real casual appearance. The laid back breezy look is a great way that the Michelle tries to stay accessible to the public instead of wearing stuffy clothing all the time.

Weekend Vacation

Study Break!

This is a message to all of my loyal followers! I am just letting you know that posting will be on a bit of a hiatus until May 3rd while I study, take finals, and move back home out of my dorm. It saddens me that I have not been able to pre-plan posts for this time but unfortunately I will not be able to. On May 3rd I will return with the start of my Cannes Film Festival premiere and photocall wishes! I have started the prep for these posts but school must be my priority right now!
