2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Stage Costume

Long live the Queen of Pop. Madonna released her new album Rebel Heart in high style rocking Spanish matador inspired looks which took us all back to a Madonna of yesteryear. I loved her custom red Givenchy Couture ensemble that she wore to debut the first single from Rebel Heart, "Living for Love," at the Grammy Awards. The song provided a dramatic moment which when staged with dancers wearing Margiela-esque embellished bull masks, was all that Madge needed to be able to whisk me off my feet and right into my Best Stage Costume award.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Entertainer of the Year

Celine Dion returned to the stage for her residency at Cesar's Palace's Colosseum in Las Vegas this year and she did so in fine with a redesigned show wearing a host of new looks puled from the runways and custom made for her. From Atelier Versace and Schiaparelli to Balmain to Zuhair Murad the stunning French-Canadian songstress shows us how it is done, in the most classy way possible. One moment I loved, that is not pictured, was the Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture floral gown that Celine wore during her tribute to the people of Paris at the 2015 American Music Awards. I loved that it was a moment of linking the world together for strength in a time when it is most needed. I am glad to see Celine back on the fashion scene and I would love to see more and more from her in 2016!

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Dressed International Star

Many international beauties have taken to the red carpet this year but none impressed me as much and India's Sonam Kapoor. Sonam is a face of L'Oreal Paris India and gets a lot of her red carpet time during the Cannes Film Festival and I have to say that each year she keeps getting better and better. The stunning Bollywood actress knows how to mix high fashion, haute couture, and traditional dress while championing designers from all around the world. Sonam likes bold statements when it comes to her red carpet dressing so designers like Ralph & Russo, Ashi Studio, and Elie Saab are all favorites of her favorite brands to wear on the red carpet. I have been loving Sonam this year and I cannot wait to see what she brings to the red carpets in 2016!

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Plus One

I have been impressed by Amal Clooney since she first stepped into the fashion radar at her wedding last year and she did not really let me down this year as she was the arm candy of her hubby George to awards shows, galas, movie premiere's, and other events. Amal started the year on a somber moment in a one shoulder black Christian Dior gown at the Golden Globe Awards which she paired with white gloves. Many were not a fan of this look as they said it came across more costume like. She was vastly improved, though I still liked her Globes look, at the 2015 Met Gala for the masses wearing a custom crimson Maison Margiela ruffled ball gown. Amal embraced the Chinese culture in a way that did not come across looking like a costume, which many other attendees were unable to do, and I loved it. For the Tomorrowland premiere in Tokyo Amal took Maison Marigela for another spin working a beautiful silk gown which reminded me of a 30's screen siren. For a party promoting CASAMIGO's, Georges tequila brand, Amal really sizzled wearing a vintage Versace gold chain mail cocktail dress. I don't know many that would be comfortable wearing such a daring design but Amal pulled it off with grace and elegance. Finish off the year Amal attended Our Brand is Crisis premiere in LA wearing a beautiful blush Roland Mouret ‘Zonda’ dress. What I love about Amal is that she likes to have fun with fashion and she takes risks while still being mindful that she is there to be supportive for her husband and not to have the center of attention.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Dressed Head of State

When the presidency of Barack Obama ends on January 22, 2017 I will be very sad to see the days of Michelle Obama making the rounds as First Lady will be one of the things that I will miss the most. From State of the Unions to State Dinners to official trips to London and Asia as well as a surprise appearance on BET "Black Girl's Rock!" we really got to see a more adventurous side of Mrs Obama this year. Usually Michelle sticks to wearing just American designers but for her foreign trips she was able to add the influence of designers based in the regions that she was visiting like Mary Katrantzou and Roksanda for her trip to London and Kenzo during her trip to Asia. My highlights from Michelle over the year are the grey Michael Kors suit worn to the State of the Union Address (pictured top far left), the white Zac Posen Spring 2015 RTW dress she wore for "Black Girls Rock!" (pictured top center), and the black Vera Wang gown she wore for the State Dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping. It has been a great year for Michelle on the red carpet and I am excited, and a little saddened, to see what the First Lady will wear for her official duties in her last year in the White House.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Newcomer

It truly is (pun intended) a Cinderella story for Lily James. I had only heard of her name in passing prior to her role in Disney's live action Cinderella and she lived up to the name when she took her red carpet dressing on the road to promote this movie. Being a darling to every major designer from Balenciaga and Dior to Elie Saab and Prada Lily showed us that she was a force to be reckoned with and held her own against red carpet queen and co-star Cate Blanchett. I had so many favorites from the collection but those above and the pink Elie Saab Couture gown below are probably my top 5 looks from Lily all year. She has a few movies coming out this coming year and I am excited to see if she will be able to keep this momentum going or if she is going to crack under the pressure. It was a delight to see Lily break into the red carpet game this year and that is why she is my Best Newcomer.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Transformation

I can't believe how blown away by Lady Gaga that I have been this year. I started the year putting Art Pop mermaid bra wearing Lady Gaga on the outs and she has surprised me by giving me some major moments on the red carpet. I believe a lot of it has to do with the fact that her stylist, Brandon Maxwell, launched his collection this year and she killed it. Friends of Gaga's Azzedine Alaia (who exclusively dressed the star on Oscar night), Donatella Versace, and Tom Ford also aided in Gaga's transformation. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Each look that Gaga wore on the red carpet was just that much more captivating to me. I think toning things down had a lot to do with her collaborative jazz tour with Tony Bennett and then landing the lead role on American Horror Story: Hotel. I am hoping that come the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards that Gaga is front and center as maybe a nominee or at least a presenter as I feel like she has a lot in store for us.

Runner-Up: Taylor Swift
