Top 10 Looks From The 2016 Academy Awards

The Academy Awards took place in Hollywood last night and the stars showed up in droves to celebrate the best films and performances of the past year. My favorite look of the night came from the red carpet queen Cate Blanchett. Cate was nominated for Best Actress for her work in Carol and continued her tradition of wearing Armani Prive at every Oscars that she has been nominated for. Cate looked fantastic wearing a custom seafoam green Armani Prive gown which seemed so fantastical with its organza petals and feathers. With such a statement gown Cate kept her styling very chic with an elegant updo, nude lip, and Tiffany & Co. diamonds. This will be a look that I remember come time to create my Best Dressed of the Year list.
Lady Gaga was probably the one I was most intrigued to see what she would bring to the red carpet at the Academy Awards and she surely didn't disappoint. Gaga showed up in a white strapless jumpsuit with a detachable skirt custom made for her by friend, designer and stylist Brandon Maxwell inspired by his Fall 2016 RTW collection. Gaga has been a champion of Maxwell's since he launched his collection last September and always look absolutely stunning in his creations. I think only Gaga could get away with wearing red carpet lady pants on the Oscars red carpet. I would have loved to see Gaga wearing a statement diamond necklace but her old Hollywood styling was all on point. Gaga owned the Academy Awards red carpet.

Not many agreed with me but I LOVED Charlize Theron in Christian Dior Couture on the Academy Awards red carpet last night. Many people likened it to the black Dior gown she wore in 2014 and I had flashbacks to her Gucci gown back in 2004 but you know what they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. This gown is a chic modern look with a lot of glamorous drama and Charlize rocked the simple style with ease down the red carpet. Finished with a statement Harry Winston necklace and a smokey eye and this will be a look one remembers for years.

Brie Larson was nominated for Best Actress for her work in Room at the Academy Awards last night, and won. She did so in fine style rocking a custom blue Gucci gown which took the boho spirit of the brand and amped up the glamour. I love the large vertical ruffles on the skirt, the crystal embellished belt, the slicked back hair, the simple jewels, and the red lip. All of the elements of this look just came together perfectly to ensure that Brie had a major moment on the Oscars red carpet.
Naomi Watts attended the 2016 Academy Awards as the plus on of Liev Schreiber, who was among the presenters last night, and made one of my dreams come true. Last July when this Armani Prive Fall 2015 Couture gown walked the runway in Paris I wanted to see Naomi in this gown and it featured on my wish list for her Toronto Film Fest appearance. So I let out a bit of a squeal when I saw that Naomi had chosen this gown for the Oscars red carpet. The statement necklace, black clutch, wavy bob, and red lip all just made this look perfect for the red carpet.

I think my jaw dropped when I saw Saoirse Ronan step out on the Academy Awards red carpet last night. I never would have pictured Saoirse wearing this gown until I saw it. I figured Saoirse was going to wear a British brand on the red carpet so when I saw this emerald Calvin Klein sequined gown with velvet straps I was shocked. Saoirse wanted to bring modern glam to the red carpet bu still hold her native Ireland close to her heart so she wanted to wear green. It was perfection.

Daisy Ridley showed us why she is a fashion force on the Oscars red carpet. Its pretty well know that a gown is the Academy Awards requisite and usually one that has a dramatic train or a full skirt. Daisy shunned the rules and wore a tea length Chanel Spring 2016 Couture embellished top and skirt. I was really shocked that Daisy wore this look and then I was surprised by just how much I loved it. It was a big risk for Daisy and it really paid off.
Julianne Moore was amazing on the Oscars red carpet. While I really wanted to see Rooney Mara wearing this Chanel Spring 2016 Couture gown, I can not deny how gorgeous Julianne is. This is a different look for Julianne, we usually see her wearing very fitted or mermaid silhouettes so it was nice to see a more princessy look from her. This black lace gown with crystal embellishments made for such a classic look and Julianne styled it perfectly.

Olivia Munn walked the Academy Awards red carpet wearing an orange Stella McCartney gown with a sleek asymmetrical caped neckline. Olivia was the only one on the Oscars  red carpet that wore orange and it was a risk that totally paid off. What I think dropped Olivia down this list is when she was on the stage her matching orange lip ended up looking like a construction workers vest. She gave us a modern glam look and I still love it.

I knew I was going to enjoy seeing Chrissy Teigan on the Oscars red carpet but she blew away my expectations wearing a hot off the runaway Marchesa Fall 2016 RTW gown. There were a lot of Marchesa gowns on the red carpet last night but this above all else was my favorite. The illusion tulle gown with red floral embroidery was a daring choice for the pregnant model to make on the red carpet but she make it work and in such a glamorous way.

#Oscars 2016: Nominees Wish List Part 1

Here we go! We are now in the home stretch before the Academy Awards on Sunday night and after a week of Oscar party wishes we are finally at my wishes for the main telecast. Kicking off my nominee wishes is Alicia Vikander who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Danish Girl. Alicia, who is my favorite to take home the little gold man Sunday night, will most likely work the red carpet wearing a custom Louis Vuitton gown, and changing into another brand for the after-parties. Despite knowing that she will wear a custom LV gown I am still wishing for Alicia to wear this peach Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown with a column silhouette and a fully embroidered cap sleeve gown. I still can't believe that this gown hasn't been worn on the red carpet yet and I think it would look absolutely lovely on Alicia. This gown would make for a chic and glam red carpet moment. A chic braided updo, fresh faced makeup, a gold Louis Vuitton clutch, gold Christian Louboutin sandals, and a pair of simple diamond drop earrings would ensure that Alicia would look amazing on the Oscars red carpet.
Cate Blanchett started awards season a little rocky but recently she has been knocking it out of the park again. On Oscar night I would love to see Cate, who is nominated for Best Leading Actress for Carol, wearing this lilac Armani Prive Spring 2016 Couture one shoulder gown which features a beautiful hand painted floral print. For every Academy Awards where she has been nominated Cate has turned out in Armani Prive so I believe that is a pretty safe bet she will wear the brand again on Sunday night. I think that this gown is a chic look is an elegant look that I think Cate would look like grace personified on the Oscars red carpet. It has been quite a while since Cate has worn this color on the red carpet and I think that she looks phenomenal it it. Finish this look with very elegant styling including a chic updo, diamond drop earrings, a red lip, silver clutch, a diamond bracelet, and a pair of silver pumps to ensure that Cate kills the red carpet at the Oscars.
We all know Jennifer Lawrence is contractually obligated to wear Christian Dior on the Academy Awards on Sunday night and many of you are probably a little surprised that the gown I picked it what I picked. Well let me explain. I would love to see the premieres at the Christian Dior atelier take this dove grey Christian Dior Spring 2016 Couture asymmetrical neckline embellished tea length gown and turn it into a floor length ball gown with a bit of a train. I think that this would mix the classic Dior glamour ad Jennifer's more sporty style. Oh and yes I want her to ditch the black undershirt. Finish the look with a chic updo, a pink lip, silver Dior clutch, and a pair silver pumps and JLaw will for sure have one of her best ever Oscars red carpet moments.
Kate Winslet is probably the star that I get the most snooze-worthy red carpet moments on the red carpet. I always have a hard time picking a gown for Kate to wear on the red carpet as I am always conflicted as to pick something that she will definitely wear and what I would love to see her wearing. For Sunday nights awards I would like to see the Best Supporting Actress nominee wearing this Ralph & Russo Fall 2015 Couture draped one shoulder gown on the red carpet. I think that this gown would make for a major red carpet moment. I would change the color of this gown to a bold royal blue as I am not the biggest fan of the army green for Kate, but he silhouette is perfect. I would love to see Kate flash a little bit of leg with the sexy, yet demure, split (I don't picture Kate pulling an Angelina with that split.) A pair of silver sandals, a silver embellished clutch, a chic updo, diamond drop earrings, and a bold red lip would finish off this look with such perfection that I could potentially see Kate making my Best Dressed list.
Lady Gaga is nominated for Best Original Song for 'Till It Happens To You" from The Hunting Ground at the Academy Awards on Sunday and I am crazy excited to see what she will be wearing. I have three looks for her to wear over the course of the Oscars telecast. Starting on the red carpet I would love to see Gaga exercise her glamorous side wearing this black Marchesa Fall 2016 RTW gown which features a nude underlay and wine colored floral embroidery. I think that this is a different type of dramatic but glamorous look that Gaga hasn't worn before but I think is perfect for the Academy Awards red carpet. For her first costume change I would love to see gaga wearing this black Brandon Maxwell Fall 2016 RTW sculpted bodice tuxedo jumpsuit for her performance of her nominated song. The song is such a raw real story that I don't see Gaga going over the top and I think that this chic black look would make for a perfect performance moment for her. After her performance  would love to see Gaga change into this hot off the runway (it literally walked yesterday in London) Alexander McQueen Fall 2016 RTW fully embellished gown and cape. Gaga is almost guaranteed the win Sunday and I think that this would make for a perfect night at the Oscars. Factor in the white Stephane Rolland Couture jumpsuit that I picked for Gaga to wear for the Vanity Fair Party after and this will make for an amazing night of Gaga fashion.
Rounding out today's nominee wishes is Rachel McAdams, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress thanks to Spotlight. Rachel has worn one Lanvin and two Elie Saab gowns over the course of this awards season and she keeps getting better. I am hoping that Rachel delivers her best red carpet moment of the season on Sunday night. I would love to see Rachel wearing this strapless sage Zuhair Murad Spring 2016 Couture fully embroidered gown. I think that this gown is a perfect color for Rachel (shes worn these smokey pastels before and blown me away) and the dramatic silhouette would just add to the perfectness of this look for the Oscars red carpet. I would finish the look with a silver clutch, a pair of silver sandals, chic updo, diamond drop earrings, and a pink lip would ensure that Rachel has the most glamorous red carpet moment.

2016 Costume Designers Guild Awards Red Carpet Wish List

Tuesday night are the last of the guild awards before the Oscars next Sunday night, the Costume Designers Guild Awards. I am excited to see who will be out on the CDG Awards red carpet as all of Hollywood is going to be out in LA for all of the Oscar week festivities. I hope Alicia Vikander is on the red carpet as the costume designers for her films The Danish Girl and Ex Machina are nominated. Alicia has been having a wonderful year of the red carpet as a Louis Vuitton ambassador, but I am hoping that she will dazzle us in something not LV on the red carpet since she is sure to wear the brand on Oscar night. I would love to see Alicia on the red carpet at the Costume Designers Guild Awards wearing this amazing silver Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2016 Couture beaded fringe cocktail dress. This is something that is a little out of Alicia's wheelhouse but yet still chic and elegant. I would not take this look into full costume territory with 20s styling. I would have Alicia style her hair into old Hollywood waves over one shoulder and add a killer pair of silver pumps to ensure that the dress is the statement of this look.
Cate Blanchett is going to be at the Costume Designers Guild Awards as she is the recipient of this years LACOSTE Spotlight Award. Cate is a dream to dress for Sandy Powell, and any costume designer she comes into contact with, and is being honored for wearing clothes so well. I would love to see Cate, who was back on top form in Alexander McQueen on BAFTA night, wearing this brown and teal Valentino Spring 2016 Couture gold embroidered velvet gown with side cutouts. This gown has the potential to look like old curtains but I think that Cate's grace and elegance would make this a regal red carpet moment. While side cutouts might not be her thing to wear on the red carpet I think that in this case that Cate would maintain her regal style and elegance. A gold clutch, chic updo, glamorous fresh faced makeup, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of gold sandals would ensure that Cat stands tall and regal on the Costume Designers Guild Awards red carpet.
Daisy Ridley has been a killer force on the red carpet since she burst onto the scene during the Star Wars: The Force Awakens promo tour. The films costume designer is nominated at the Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday and I am hoping that Daisy will be on the red carpet. I think that chances are likely since Daisy is one of the presenters at the Oscars next Sunday. For the CDG Awards I would love to see Daisy keep expanding her designer repertoire and wear this amazing Oscar de la Renta Fall 2016 RTW photographic floral jacquard printed draped tea length a-line gown. I think that is would be a very chic and classic way for Daisy to kick off Oscar week. I am probably the most excited to see what Daisy is going to wear over Oscar week and I think that this would be a perfect look for her to rock. A pink clutch to match the print, a chic updo, black sandals and a light pink lip would ensure that Daisy continues to wow on the red carpet.
Kiernan Shipka is the one former star of Mad Men that is able to consistently able to give me stellar red carpet moments. I am hoping that she will be on hand at the Costume Designers Guild Awards as she always makes me swoon. Recently we have seen Kiernan start to expand her style and experiment with more grown up looks. I would love to see Kiernan wearing this gunmetal grey J. Mendel Fall 2016 RTW pleated asymmetrical gown as I think it's a chic more grown up look on the red carpet, but still appropriate for a 16 year old to wear on the red carpet. Chic waves, fresh faced makeup, a gunmetal clutch, and a pair of gunmetal Jimmy Choo sandals would ensure that Kiernan has a gorgeous red carpet moment at the CDG Awards.
The costume designer for American Horror Story: Hotel is nominated for a Costume Designers Guild Award and I am sure that Lady Gaga is going to be on hand as you could very much see her influence on costuming with couture designers like Ashi Studio and Stephane Rolland (favorites of Gaga) featured on the show. I would love to see Gaga wearing this embellished and feathered Saint Lauren Fall 2016 RTW Part 1 dress on the red carpet. Gaga was on hand at the Hollywood Palladium for this presentation and I think that this is probably the look that screams her name the most. This major 60's moment is something that I think Gaga is one of the only that could make this look not look like a costume. I would not have the thick black belt in favor of a thin silver Prada bow belt and add a pair of silver pumps would ensure that Gaga would have a major red carpet moment.
Lily James was in Cinderella alongside Cate Blanchett and the film is nominated for a Costume Designers Guild Award. I am hoping that Lily is on the red carpet and chooses this pink Elie Saab Spring 2016 Couture 3D floral embroidered cocktail dress. Lily wore Elie Saab quite a few times while promoting the movie and I would love to see her end wearing this flirty cocktail dress. Lily is not herself nominated so I think that couture is appropriate since it is a cocktail dress. I would add a pair of gold pumps, old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, and a pink lip to finish this look perfectly for Lily and the CDG Awards.

2016 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish Lists Part 8

Continuing on with my week of Oscar parties wishes today kicking off with Dita Von Teese. I am always interested to see what the stunning burlesque queen will wear on the red carpet. I am hoping that Dita will make an appearance at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party wearing this amazing black Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2015 Couture cocktail dress. This cocktail dress would make for an amazing red carpet moment on Dita with her stunning vintage beauty. I can picture Dita working the red carpet with her vintage inspired curls, signature red lip, the runways black fur pom-pom Christian Louboutin pumps, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would ensure that this is an amazing r ed carpet moment for Dita.
I am really hoping that Gwen Stefani is going to make an appearance on Oscar night. Years ago Gwen made it through many red carpet moments on Oscar night wearing some of the best designers like Chanel Couture and Vera Wang. For this year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party I would love to see Gwen wearing this amazing fuchsia ombre Marchesa Spring 2016 RTW gown features a bird and botanical threadwork embroidered bodice with a tea length satin faced organza tiered skirt. When Gwen goes avant garde glamour on the red carpet I always fall head over heels in love with her look. I would finish this look off with a pair of black peep toe pumps, a black clutch, chic updo, red lip, and diamond cluster earrings to ensure that Gwen has an amazing red carpet moment.
I am betting that Oscar night is going to be a big night for Lady Gaga. Gaga is nominated for Best Original Song and I am really hoping that she takes the prize home. After the big ceremony, where she will also perform that nominated song, I would love to see Gaga change into this amazing Stephane Rolland Spring 2016 Couture jumpsuit which features an amazing crystal neckline and a dramatic train. This type of look takes a certain personality to pull off and Gaga definitely has the presence to make this look work on the red carpet. I would finish this look off for Gaga with a pair of diamond cluster earrings, silver crystal Christian Louboutin 'Daffodile' platform pumps, old Hollywood waves, red lip, and a lined eye to just top off what I am hoping will be another perfect red carpet moment for Gaga on Oscar night.
Naomie Harris has been on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party the past two years and I am hoping that she will be back on the Hollywood red carpet next Sunday night. I would love to see Naomi wearing this amazing Balmain Pre-Fall 2016 navy velvet gown with lace cut-out details. This look is a perfect red carpet moment waiting to happen. Like I said in a recent post, this Balmain collection has been my favorite from the brand in a very long time and I bet that we will see at least one look from the collection on the red carpet on Oscar night. Style this look with a navy Edie Parker clutch, navy peep toe pumps, old Hollywood waves, and a red lip would ensure that Naomie slays the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
While she might be over in Europe on the fashion show circuit but I would love to see Olivia Palermo out in full force on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet. The fashionista knows how to work some amazing avant garde lady like looks on the red carpet. I would love to see Olivia wearing this yellow Sachin + Babi Pre-Fall 2016 high low bow accented floral embroidered gown on this red carpet. As the queen of red carpet accessorizing and I could picture Olivia pairing this gown with a yellow feathered clutch & gold sandals to just take this look over the top for an Oscar night red carpet.

You Better Werk!: Lady Gaga in Marc Jacobs at the 2016 Grammy Awards

Lady Gaga attended the 2016 Grammy Awards last night to pay tribute to one of her greatest inspirations, the late David Bowie, and she did so in full Gaga style. Bowie was known for his boundary pushing fashion style and Gaga totally embodied his essence in two custom Marc Jacobs ensembles. Her red carpet look as a beautiful embroidered jacket dress that the moment I saw it reminded me of classic Bowie. and her white performance look was perfection. The orange hair and full bold makeup just completed the stunning tribute to one of music and fashions greatest personalities. I was glad to see that Gaga still can go all out for music red carpets after so many demure looks on film and television red carpets.

#Grammys 2016: Alicia Keys, Amber Heard, Lady Gaga, & Nicole Richie Red Carpet Wish List

Alicia Keys was on hand to help announce all of this year Grammy Awards nominees and that could translate into her presenting or attending the show on Monday night. Alicia has always been one that I find interesting to see on the red carpet because she usually goes very edgy or very glam and I would be intrigued to see what she will wear on the red carpet Monday. I would love to see Alicia wearing this light pink Givenchy Spring 2016 Couture halter neck gown with side cut-outs and open back. Julianne Moore wore a similar look from this collection in chartreuse sequins for the SAG Awards so the style of gown might not appeal to someone as it could go into a "Who Wore It Better" type of situation. I think that this classic ethereal style is perfect for Alicia. I would style her hair into a large braided bun, add a pair of Bulgari earrings which feature a some pink stones, a gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals to ensure that Alicia has a beautiful red carpet moment at the Grammy's.
Amber Heard is most likely going to be attending the Grammy Awards on Monday night as the plus one of her husband and Grammy performer Johnny Depp. You read that right. Johnny Depp will be making his Grammy Awards debut with the other members of The Hollywood Vampires, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry. I am excited to see what Amber is going to wear on the red carpet at the Grammy's as she is so versatile. I picked this dark pink Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2016 Alta Moda long sleeve sequin floral pattern cocktail dress for Amber because I think that this is a chic fun look for a movie star to wear on the Grammy Awards red carpet as a guest of a performer. I would keep the look simple with chic waves, a black clutch, and a pair of black peep toe pumps to ensure that Amber dazzles on the red carpet on Monday night.
Lady Gaga has been announced to perform a tribute to the late David Bowie on the Grammy Awards telecast on Monday night and I am very excited to see what she is going to wear on the red carpet and for her performance. I have been loving Gaga's style recently and I don't think that she will let me down on Monday night. For the red carpet I would love to see Gaga wearing this Armani Spring 2016 Couture gown which features a sequin embellished tiered skirt and black lace bodice on illusion fabric to give a sexy and edgy yet vert glamorous look. Gaga has toned down her crazy antics and has made me quite love her style recently. This paired with old Hollywood waves, a pair of black pumps, Diamond drop earrings, and a red lip would make for a perfect glamorous Grammy Awards red carpet look. For her performance of a selection of David Bowie's greatest hits I would love to see Gaga wearing this hot pink Moschino Pre-Fall 2016 cartoonish suit, though it might be a little to similar to the Gucci suit that she wore to perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50. I think that this suit embodies the spirit of David Bowie's iconic style and would make for the perfect look for Gaga to wear to memorialize the late pop icon.
Finally I have a wish for Nicole Richie to wear a beautiful Reem Acra Spring 2016 RTW teal gown which features stunning floral embroidery as I bet she will be on the red carpet as her father Lionel Richie is going to be honored as the MusiCares person of the year and will have a tribute to his music performed during the Grammy Awards on Monday night. I think that this type of chic Indian inspired gown would look amazing on Nicole though she might not go for such a princess moment on a night where she is just attending as a guest. Finished with a gold clutch and a pair of gold sandals and I believe that this would be an absolutely beautiful red carpet moment for Nicole.

You Better Werk!: Lady Gaga in Christian Siriano at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon

Lady Gaga is a busy woman this week. She kicked it off performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl wearing custom Gucci on Sunday and she has a bunch of appearances at pre-Grammy parties as well as the Grammy Awards this weekend, and yesterday she stepped out in Hollywood at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon wearing a custom nude Christian Siriano gown. Honestly Gaga is overdressed for a daytime luncheon but then again it is Gaga we are talking about and there is no denying how gorgeous that she is. This turtle neck gown showcased the mod glam trend that was very apparent on the red carpet yesterday but in a very formal way.

#Oscars2016: Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon Wish List Part 2

I am probably most excited to see what Lady Gaga is going to wear in the lead up to the 2016 Academy Awards. Gaga is nominated for Best Original Song and is already confirmed to perform her nominated song "Till It Happens To You" during the telecast. For the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon I would love to see Gaga wearing this blue and purple ombre Armani Prive Fall 2016 Couture blazer and navy blue velvet pants. We have been seeing a very glamorous side of Gaga this year and I am loving it. Gone are the days of shock factor and in are the high fashion glam days. I originally thought that Cate Blanchett would wear this look but I think that Gaga would absolutely slay this for the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon. I can picture Gaga going full glam wearing this suit with a curly bob, pink lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black pumps for this red carpet. This might be a little over the top for most but on Gaga this is par for the norm and I love it.
Rachel McAdams kicked off Awards Season wearing a Lanvin ball gown which I equated with grandma's comforter at the Golden Globe Awards, but with each red carpet that passes I see her getting better and better. I am interested to see what the Best Supporting Actress nominee is going to wear for the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon on Monday. I would love to see her wearing this black and grey Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2016 striped jacquard flared dress. I think that this is a classic dress with a bold statement print which is perfect for a luncheon red carpet. Finish the look with a pair of silver pumps, a red lip, and a wavy bob and this look would be finished perfectly.
Rooney Mara is more often than not a total snooze fest on the red carpet and I am honestly expecting her to fade into the background at the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon. I would love to see her wearing this black ruched cotton Zac Posen Spring 2016 RTW dress which features a scoop neck with a keyhole detail at the bodice, sheer eyelet trim throughout, and a knee length a-line silhouette. I think that this dress is a statement in black, as I she will either wear black or white, and I honestly think that this will be one of the more bold and chic black looks that Rooney has ever worn. I figure the styling will be kept simple with a ballerina bun, a pair of black pumps, and classic barely there makeup to ensure that Rooney doesn't step outside of her very small style box.
Saoirse Ronan has yet to have a major WOW moment this awards season and I am hoping that she starts to take a couple of risks on the red carpet. With a love of edgy brands like Proenza Schouler I have been very surprised by just how underwhelming that she has been. I would love to see Saoirse wearing this multicolored Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2016 dress rendered in jacquard and features a sheath silhouette with a jewel neckline, contoured seams, and a slightly flared knee length hem. I think that this dress is perfect for this red carpet to get her in an edgy look finally. The classic style mixed with the different colors and prints is a lot to take in but I think that Saoirse would be able to make it so chic on the red carpet. A pair of silver nude sandals, a pink lip, and pushed back sleek hair would add the perfect finishing touches so that the dress is the focus of this look, as it should be.

Top 10 Looks at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards

I put together a video with all the 10 looks that I loved above all else on the red carpet. I was surprised by my non-love of Cate Blanchett and my inability to stop gushing over Jennifer Lopez (who wore the gown I picked for Cate Blanchett.) The Globes red carpet was pretty awesome and I have to say that I am now excited for awards season.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries Nominees Wish List

We are just 5 days away from the Golden Globe Awards! I am so excited to see all the amazing looks that are going to gracing the red carpets, today I am making my wishes for the very talented women who are nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries. Up first is American Crime star Felicity Huffman. I can't honestly say that I am expecting Felicity to wow me, it has been a long time since that has happened, but I am sure that she will wear something very pretty. I think that this tangerine Jenny Packham Resort 2016 chiffon halter gown with a neck scarf would be a perfect choice for Felicity to make for this red carpet. I think that by choosing something in such an interesting color will keep me more interested than a dramatic gown in black (which is what I am expecting). I think that the color would compliment her skin tone, as well as her new darker hair. Finished with a  gold clutch, a chic up-do, pink lip, and a pair of gold pumps and this look will be exactly what Felicity needs to get me a little interested in her style again.
I am incredibly excited that Kirsten Dunst has earned a Golden Globe nomination, thanks to Fargo, not because I watch the show but because I love her on the red carpet. Kirsten knows how to work some of the brands known for their edgy designs like Rodarte, Chanel Couture, and Proenza Schouler on the red carpet and I am hoping that she brings one of those brands to the red carpet on Sunday. I would die if she showed up in this black and white Rodarte Spring 2016 RTW silk velvet lace gown with its stunning navy floral embroidery. I think that this gown reminds me of a bygone era and Kirsten is one of the few who I could picture making this gown work off the runway because of that vintage spirit she possesses. With her pale skin, a red lip, vintage inspired hair, diamond drop earrings, a white Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of silver sandals this look would just elevate to a whole other level of red carpet beauty.
I was a little shocked that Lady Gaga was actually nominated for her work on American Horror Story: Hotel, but I am very excited that she is going to be on hand. We have seen a more toned down, by Gaga standards at least, version of Lady Gaga since she has been on the show and I am pretty sure that more demure glam side will be out on display on Sunday night. I honestly predict that Gaga will be wearing a custom gown from one of her fabulous designer friends like Tom Ford, Brandon Maxwell, or Donatella Versace. I personally would love to see Gaga wearing this jet black Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2016 crepe jersey gown which features a racer design neckline, a ruched bodice with grommeted leather trim, and a floor length pleated column skirt. While this look is very subtle, maybe a little too subtle for Gaga since she is actually nominated, I think that it has that rocker edge with the leather grommeted trim that it could make the cut. I think that if she took this look and went full Hollywood with old Hollywood waves, a red lip, diamond chandelier earrings, and a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that Gaga would slay the Globes red carpet.
I find Queen Latifah to be a delight to see on the red carpet. She might stick to a small group of designers but she always look beautiful. I am hoping that the Bessie actress will really bring it to the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday and I think that she would do exactly that wearing this dark teal Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture halter cape embellished gown. I think that any type of Zuhair Murad cape gown will be compared to JLo at last years Globes but I think that this gown is very different with its fitted sheath gown and cape sleeves. I feel like this is a statement that Queen Latifah has never made on the red carpet and I think that it has a lot of red carpet potential. Finished with a gold clutch, a pair of gold peep toe pumps, chic up-do, and a fierce eye and this look will for sure keep Queen Latifah on the top of Best Dressed Lists.

I will be live tweeting the Golden Globe Awards red carpet with my partner in snark Kelly from Dream In Lace on Sunday January 8, 2016 starting a 6pm. Make sure you check out Kelly's blog and then follow us both (@DreamInLace and @FutureStylist93) on Twitter. Join in on the snark and the fashion of the first major awards show of the year!

2016 Peoples Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

Continuing with today's 2016 People's Choice Awards wish lists I m going to continue with my wish for the stunning Kerry Washington. Kerry has always been one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet (she was another of the ladies who made it on to my Best Dressed of the Year list) and I am sure that she will slay the red carpet next Wednesday at the People's Choice Awards (if she attends.) Nominated for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress, I would love to see Kerry wear this amazing multicolored floral Jason Wu Spring 2016 RTW halter dress. I love the flirty volume added to this dress by the amazing voluminous ruffles. This perfect look would be finished off with a pair of pink sandals and a gold Edie Parker clutch to make it just that much more elegant.
Not many women would be able to make couture work on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards but Lady Gaga is one of the few that could. Nominated for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy actress thanks to her amazing work on American Horror Story: Hotel. At the close of 2015 it has been a lot of Brandon Maxwell (Gaga's friend and stylist turned designer) on the back of Gaga and I am excited to see what she has in store for 2016. I think that Gaga would look amazing wearing this 3D floral embroidered Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 Couture ensemble which consists of a feather embellished tunic top and a pair of wide leg pants. This is a chic, edgy ensemble is perfect for Gaga who is about the only person that I can picture wearing this ensemble. A pair of platform sandals, chic updo, and a red lip would ensure that Gaga kills the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards.
I am about over seeing Lea Michele on the red carpet but alas she is nominated for Favorite Actress in a New TV Series and is presenting at the People's Choice Awards, so she will be on hand. I picked this long sleeve Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture celestial embellished mini-dress for Lea because I feel like it is where she is with her red carpet style. A while ago I would have had wished for chic Elie Saab or Zac Posen moments but I don't think that she is there anymore. Lea has potential to make for a major red carpet being but she has gotten lost. This would make for a very pretty look finished with a pair of black crystal embellished pumps and a red lip.
Like Lea, Priyanka Chopra is nominated at the People's Choice Awards for Favorite Actress in a New TV Series and is presenting. Priyanka has started to make waves in the fashion world for her bold choices for the red carpet and I am really excited to see what she is going to bring to the table. I think that this mint blue Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2016 RTW silk shawl dress would be a chic elegant way for Priyanka to show up now that she has a following from her hit series Quantico. A pair of black and white Sophia Webster sandals to add a statement and a red lip will ensure that Priyanka kills the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards.
After wowing me in 2014 I was really surprised by how underwhelming Shailene Woodley was for me. I am hoping that 2016 will see her back on top form. At the People's Choice Awards next week I would love to see Shailene, who's nominated for Favorite Action Movie Actress, Mugler Spring 2016 RTW ensemble. I love that this ensemble, which consists of a navy blue sweater with a large pocket and military buttons down one sleeve and a navy metal embellished asymmetrical skirt, and I think that this gown would be event appropriate and fabulous. Shailene is not known for her feminine style and this look mixes femininity with a whole lot of edge. Finish the look with a pair of black and silver Giuseppe Zanotti pumps and simple hair and makeup and Shailene will work this red carpet.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Transformation

I can't believe how blown away by Lady Gaga that I have been this year. I started the year putting Art Pop mermaid bra wearing Lady Gaga on the outs and she has surprised me by giving me some major moments on the red carpet. I believe a lot of it has to do with the fact that her stylist, Brandon Maxwell, launched his collection this year and she killed it. Friends of Gaga's Azzedine Alaia (who exclusively dressed the star on Oscar night), Donatella Versace, and Tom Ford also aided in Gaga's transformation. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Each look that Gaga wore on the red carpet was just that much more captivating to me. I think toning things down had a lot to do with her collaborative jazz tour with Tony Bennett and then landing the lead role on American Horror Story: Hotel. I am hoping that come the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards that Gaga is front and center as maybe a nominee or at least a presenter as I feel like she has a lot in store for us.

Runner-Up: Taylor Swift

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here

amfAR Inspiration Gala Los Angeles Red Carpet Wish List

Tomorrow night amfAR will honor Ryan Murphy at the Los Angeles Inspiration Gala. The stars of all of his shows and TV movies are co-chairs for this event and I am excited to see who will show up. Chloe Sevigny has been in two incarnations of Murphy's "American Horror Story" "Asylum" and now "Hotel" and I am actually really excited to see what she will wear as Chloe has been known for her eclectic taste in fashion. I have been long enjoying watching TOME develop as brand the past few seasons and I wish stars would embrace this brand on the red carpet. I would love to see Chloe wear this TOME Spring 2016 RTW ensemble which features a black cotton wrap halter top, a black and purple taffeta and cotton ball skirt, and a pair of black silk jersey ankle tie skinny pants. This is such a complicated look that not many would be able to pull off and I think that Chloe has the edge to be able to do so. With this complicated dress I would keep the styling to a minimum; sleek hair, pink lip, black clutch, & a pair of black sandals are all that are needed to ensure that this is a winning look.
Emma Roberts has been in multiple seasons of "American Horror Story" and is a star in Ryan Murphy's new series "Scream Queens" and is one of the co-chairs of the amfAR Inspiration Gala LA. I am interested to see what Emma will wear because she has been giving us lots of no color looks lately and I would like to see that stop, that is why I picked this cotton candy pink Badgley Mischka Spring 2016 RTW gown. This gown with it's simple silhouette, small lace peekaboo's, pleated skirt, and embroidery is something that I could totally picture Emma wearing as the silhouette is something that she tends to go for in a red carpet gown. Keep the sugar going with a silver glittering clutch, a pair of silver sandals, a light pink lip, and old Hollywood wave. If Emma does this I believe that this would be an absolutely amazing red carpet moment.
Gwyneth Paltrow is going to be the hostess with the mostess tomorrow night at the amfAR Inspiration Gala Los Angeles and I can not wait to see what she will be wearing. Gwyneth is no stranger to Ryan Murphy herself. The queen of GOOP was a favorite reoccurring character on "Glee" and are currently working together on getting "One Hit Wonders" off the ground. For this event I would love to see Gwenie wear this Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 RTW tea rose ensemble which includes a crepe de chine blouse and chiffon fitted evening skirt with coiled pleating details and a slightly flared hem. This almost nude pink ensemble is perfection and it is something that Gwyneth would totally wear on a red carpet, so why not for the amfAR gala? A pair of gold sandals, a gold clutch, fresh faced makeup, a sleek straight pulled back hairstyle, & a pair of Harry Winston diamond cluster earrings would be the perfect styling to ensure that Gwyneth is perfection on the red carpet.
Lady Gaga is currently giving me life as The Countess on "American Horror Story: Hotel" and I can not wait to see what she is going to be rocking when she steps out on the red carpet tomorrow night for the amfAR Inspiration Gala. Gaga has been giving us more demure looks since "AHS: Hotel" has been going, mostly thanks to her stylist turned designer Brandon Maxwell and as much I have been loving the magic that they are making on the red carpet I am hoping to see her in another label. I would KILL (no pun intended) to see Gaga wearing this nude feather and crystal embellished Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture gown, which reminds me of a 30's dressing gown. If anyone could make this gown work off of a runway in real life it would be Gaga and I am praying that this moment actually ends up happening. A pair of gold pumps, a chic updo, and a red lip would ensure that Gaga gives us absolutely everything that we hope for from her on the red carpet.
Lea Michele is another who is no stranger to a Ryan Murphy production having stared in "Glee" and now "Scream Queens." I have not been excited about one of Lea's red carpet looks in a long time and I am hoping that she will give me something to talk about tomorrow night. I believe that this ocean spray blue silk crepe georgette Elie Saab Resort 2016 gown which features an a-line silhouette with a collared halter neckline and ruffle details that outline the front opening on the bodice and cascade down the side of the dress. This is a very simple gown which is exactly what I think Lea needs to be able to get back in my good graces. I honestly think that when it comes to styling that the Elie Saab Swarovski crystal embellished clutch that the gown was paired with in the look book is a perfect choice along with a pair of gold sandals, a pink lip, and a loose romantic updo to keep this look perfect for this red carpet and to help Lea have a best dressed moment.

Best Dressed of September 2015

September was a crazy month on the red carpets we had plenty of premieres (major Oscar campaigns have started), fashion weeks, papal visits, and lots of product endorsements that went along with the Venice Film Festival, the Toronto Film Festival, and the Emmy Awards. I decided to take the Venice, Toronto, and Emmy Awards red carpets out of the running (they all got their own best dressed lists) so that all the rest of these women had a chance to earn a spot. Jessica Chastain is campaigning for an Oscar nomination for her role in "The Martian" and this stunning black Elie Saab Couture gown that she paired with the most amazing emerald and diamond statement earrings at the films gala premiere in London is the perfect way to start this campaign. There is something about a redhead in black with emerald earrings that just sings to me. Tell me when I would ever put a black dress at the top of a best dressed list? Surprisingly has happened a few times this year because these stars are doing them so well. Can anyone else remember Cate Blanchett in Margiela at the Oscars?
Solange Knowles made her rounds during New York Fashion Week. She was spotted on her way to the 3.1 Phillip Lim show wearing a hot off the runway Zimmermann Spring 2016 RTW white lace dress that she paired with the most awesome Schutz ‘Karlyanna’ cut-out boots and white plastic rim sunglasses. This is a perfect look for Solange. I love that she is not afraid to take fashion risks and that she does so many different styles on the red carpet and she works each one just as well as the next.

I have to give credit where credit is due to Dakota Johnson. I have not been a big fan of the actress on the red carpet since she first came around, but her white Balenciaga Resort 2016 strapless bell shaped cocktail dress at the "Black Mass" premiere in Boston was PERFECTION. I remember looking at Dakota in this ensemble and saying FINALLY a look worthy of a movie star. She knocked this look out of the red carpet ballpark styling it perfectly with that sleek hair, red lips, a beautiful Van Cleef & Arpels diamond necklace, and silver Bally sandals. There is not a single thing about this look that I would change, and that is something I have never said about one of Dakota's red carpet looks.

If you are an avid reader of this blog then you know that I LOVE Amal Clooney. I was sadly disappointed with her Christian Dior gown at the Golden Globe Awards but she has given so many other amazing looks this year that I am over that transgression. Last week she was spotted out on a date night with hubby George in New York City looking sexy, yet very chic, in green Versace Fall 2015 RTW that she paired with matching Jimmy Choo sandals. If I were a woman Amal would be one of my style icons and this look just shows why, she is not on a red carpet, she is not working, she is just out on a date with her husband and she is on fleek.
There is a love/hate relationship with Prada gowns on the red carpet. When Emily Blunt stepped out on the red carpet at the "Sicario" premiere in London I let out a yelp of elation as this red embellished custom Prada gown is perfection. Emily has had some amazing Prada moments on the red carpet but this has to top that list. She looks chic and elegant while being extremely modern at the same time.

Jennifer Hudson had her most beautiful look ever, in my opinion, when she took to the state at Madison Square Garden to perform "Hallelujah" for the Pope's mass in New York City. This custom blue Prabal Gurung gown and cape (gives off MAJOR Giambattista Valli Couture vibes) was a perfect look for such a demure occasion. I love when JHud gives us full glamour and that is exactly what she gave us with this look.

Kate Bosworth stepped out on the red carpet at the Atlanta premiere of "90 Minutes In Heaven" giving us 1950's socialite glamour. Her beautiful gold brocade Schiaparelli Fall 2015 Couture tea length gown gives off very vintage vibes and styled with a sleek low bun, orange lip, gold clutch, & Nicholas Kirkwood gold pumps all perfectly punctuated her beautiful ensemble.
Lady Gaga made shock waves wearing a simple black gown by her stylist Brandon Maxwell, whom presented his first runway collection during New York Fashion Week, for the Emmy Awards. Gaga also wore a gown from Maxwell's Spring 2016 RTW collection for the Fox Emmy Awards After-Party, but instead of the runways black version she oped for a white strapless gown with a voluminous shawl. It seems like her TV time is starting to make her more demure and sophisticated, but I love that this look still has that touch of signature Gaga drama.

Squeezing into this list at the last minute was Charlize Theron who stepped out to be a "The Power of an Educated Girl" panelist. Charlize wowed me by taking a rare step out at a public appearance not wearing Dior. The face of "J'Adore Dior" is almost exclusively dressed by the brand so I cherish the moments where she steps out of that box and gives us something else. This Erdem Resort 2016 black, white, & blue floral shift dress is beautiful and demure perfect for a panel that also included the First Lady of the United States. Her side part pixie, oxblood lip, & simple black Christian Louboutin pumps were the perfect way to style this look to ensure that she was event appropriate.

Finally there is Nicole Kidman who attended the OMEGA ‘Her Time’ Q&A session in Milan wearing a Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 RTW ensemble. As the face of OMEGA watches I have to say that Nicole did her part as brand ambasador quite well as this was just one of three amazing looks that she wore over the course of her duties. The victorian-esque ruffled organza and floral macrame blouse paired with a printed skirt and a pair of black Christian Louboutin sandals is the perfect look to wear for a Q&A session.

Overall August was a very very busy month for the red carpets and I had a hard time narrowing down my options just to 10. Head over to to the Facebook page to see all of the looks considered in putting this list together.
