2016 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish Lists Part 8

Continuing on with my week of Oscar parties wishes today kicking off with Dita Von Teese. I am always interested to see what the stunning burlesque queen will wear on the red carpet. I am hoping that Dita will make an appearance at the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party wearing this amazing black Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2015 Couture cocktail dress. This cocktail dress would make for an amazing red carpet moment on Dita with her stunning vintage beauty. I can picture Dita working the red carpet with her vintage inspired curls, signature red lip, the runways black fur pom-pom Christian Louboutin pumps, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would ensure that this is an amazing r ed carpet moment for Dita.
I am really hoping that Gwen Stefani is going to make an appearance on Oscar night. Years ago Gwen made it through many red carpet moments on Oscar night wearing some of the best designers like Chanel Couture and Vera Wang. For this year's Vanity Fair Oscar Party I would love to see Gwen wearing this amazing fuchsia ombre Marchesa Spring 2016 RTW gown features a bird and botanical threadwork embroidered bodice with a tea length satin faced organza tiered skirt. When Gwen goes avant garde glamour on the red carpet I always fall head over heels in love with her look. I would finish this look off with a pair of black peep toe pumps, a black clutch, chic updo, red lip, and diamond cluster earrings to ensure that Gwen has an amazing red carpet moment.
I am betting that Oscar night is going to be a big night for Lady Gaga. Gaga is nominated for Best Original Song and I am really hoping that she takes the prize home. After the big ceremony, where she will also perform that nominated song, I would love to see Gaga change into this amazing Stephane Rolland Spring 2016 Couture jumpsuit which features an amazing crystal neckline and a dramatic train. This type of look takes a certain personality to pull off and Gaga definitely has the presence to make this look work on the red carpet. I would finish this look off for Gaga with a pair of diamond cluster earrings, silver crystal Christian Louboutin 'Daffodile' platform pumps, old Hollywood waves, red lip, and a lined eye to just top off what I am hoping will be another perfect red carpet moment for Gaga on Oscar night.
Naomie Harris has been on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party the past two years and I am hoping that she will be back on the Hollywood red carpet next Sunday night. I would love to see Naomi wearing this amazing Balmain Pre-Fall 2016 navy velvet gown with lace cut-out details. This look is a perfect red carpet moment waiting to happen. Like I said in a recent post, this Balmain collection has been my favorite from the brand in a very long time and I bet that we will see at least one look from the collection on the red carpet on Oscar night. Style this look with a navy Edie Parker clutch, navy peep toe pumps, old Hollywood waves, and a red lip would ensure that Naomie slays the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
While she might be over in Europe on the fashion show circuit but I would love to see Olivia Palermo out in full force on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet. The fashionista knows how to work some amazing avant garde lady like looks on the red carpet. I would love to see Olivia wearing this yellow Sachin + Babi Pre-Fall 2016 high low bow accented floral embroidered gown on this red carpet. As the queen of red carpet accessorizing and I could picture Olivia pairing this gown with a yellow feathered clutch & gold sandals to just take this look over the top for an Oscar night red carpet.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Worst Dressed of 2015

It has come to the time of the year where I really don't enjoy looking back. For the most part 2015 was an amazing year on the red carpet but there were quite a few looks that made me cringe when I saw them. The most painful look I saw on the red carpet this year was when Jane Fonda stepped out on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival wearing a custom Schiaparelli Couture gown for the premiere of her film "Youth." This looked like a cheap Victorian vampire costume and aged Jane many years right away. I couldn't grasp why she looked so terrible since days before Jane was sizzling in an electric blue Atelier Versace gown. The rest of Jane's promotional tour for "Youth" wasn't my favorite but she definitely has some high hope to look up to during awards season.
What would a worst dressed list be without an appearance of Kristen Stewart. I was actually surprised that she showed up in this froufrou satin and lace Chanel Fall 2015 Couture gown on the Venice Film Festival red carpet of her film "Equals." There were actually quite a few looks from that Chanel collection that I would have liked to see KStew wearing. She was further let down by the terribly aging hair and makeup that she paired with her dress.

Another staple of the Worst Dressed list has to be Kim Kardashian-West. I dislike this woman immensely so I might be a little biased but when I first saw this Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2015 Couture gown on the runway I was so excited to see who would snatch it up as it was a glam Studio 54 moment waiting to happen on the likes of Lady Gaga or Rihanna but when Kim got her hands on it she just looked like she was wearing an overly embellished bathrobe. I should sing praised that she wasn't making the dress bulge from the seams like most of her looks that make her look like a stuffed sausage but this really was just a terrible moment.

Probably the most controversial tweet I posted this year was in regards to this canary yellow Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture gown that Heidi Klum wore to the 2015 Emmy Awards. I tweeted this look out and said that I wished that Heidi would choose more age appropriate looks. The hate I got back calling me and ageist and a sexist was strong. I will now defend myself. When I saw this look on the runway I was in love; I was picturing a young pop star like Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift wearing this for a music awards show. So color me shocked when Heidi Klum showed up on the Emmy Awards red carpet in it. I found this look to be aging and severely unflattering. That is why she is towards the top of my Worst Dressed of 2015 list.
Britney Spears looked back into her closet from her early years for the style that she wore to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. I don't even know where to start without how bad this look is. First off let's start with the fit, she looks like a 2lb sausage stuffed into a 1lb shell. Her breasts look like they are screaming to be supported correctly and not to be crushed. Then there is the dated style, if this had been on any of the current pop stars on a stage I don't think I would be having a problem with it but its too short and it looks like a Vegas showgirl costume. The shoes look like cheap prom shoes and the hair and makeup are basic and greasy and aging. All around this is a terrible look.

Following that is Selena Gomez who showed up at a private dinner party at Annabel's in London wearing a Monse Spring 2016 RTW gown that reminded me of very luxe nightgown. I think that this gown could have been great on someone like Rihanna or Ciara or Lady Gaga. These women all have something that Selena doesn't a sexy confidence and sense of diva attitude that is brought to the red carpet. I think that this gown lost all of the luster that it had on the runway on the back of Selena who should go back to Versace as she and Donatella made amazing magic when they were working together.

Solange Knowles was the in-house DJ at the Academy Awards this year. When I heard that she was going to be walking the red carpet I got very excited as Solange usually wears the most amazing clothes, so I was really disappointed when she showed up wearing this tangerine Christian Siriano Fall 2015 RTW gown top and palazzo pants. This look, much like Selena's gown, reminds me of luxurious pajamas. This look was further let down by having the worst hairstyle. To even remotely taking this look to a decent place Solange's hair needed to be sleek in a tight bun.
Moving on to the final group of ladies on the Worst dressed of the Year list. Salma Hayek stepped out on the red carpet at the London Evening Standard Theater Awards putting her breasts on display in an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 gown. Her twins were on full display framed with a dust ruffle. There are only a few women who I could picture pulling this type of look off and they are all very tall women, which Salma is not.

Music Awards shows are usually the source of really bad looks but I can't believe that I have one from all tree of the major awards. I was uber excited to know that Gwen Stefani was going to be walking the red carpet at the American Music Awards but my heart sunk when I saw her in this Yousef Al-Jasmi Spring 2016 Couture black mesh gown. The gown itself isn't terrible but Gwen definitely can do so much better. The look was further let down with the half up/half down hairstyle, heavy cat eye, and nude lip. Gwen has so much potential and this just did nothing to showcase that.

Last but not lease we have Glinda the Good Witch wearing custom Prada on the red carpet at the Met Ball, Kerry Washington. It really pains me to put Kerry on the Worst Dressed list as she is one of my favorite women to see on the red carpet but this pink cupcake just made the 5 foot 4 inch actress look even more petite than the actually is. The emerald green shoes and clutch just added to the feeling that this is a reject costume from The Wizard of OZ.

2015 has been a great year on the red carpet but these are definitely the dark side of what was there, make sure you check back on Friday to see the Best Dressed of the Year list.

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here.

2015 American Music Awards: Celine, Chloe, Ciara, Gigi & Gwen Red Carpet Wish List

Performers and presenters for the 2015 American Music Awards just keep coming in, the addition of Celine Dion this morning to the list of performers held up this post. Celine has been added to perform a special rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à L’Amour” in French as tribute to those affected by the recent attacks in Paris at the American Music Awards on Sunday night. I have long been a fan of Celine's style and I am intrigued to see what she and stylist Annie Horth will put together for such a somber moment in the show. I believe that this strapless Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture black gown with black embellishments of the bodice would be a beautiful statement for Celine to make. It would honor not just those in Paris but also Beirut, two places attacked recently and both important to the Elie Saab label. This is such a chic elegant moment that I would hope that Celine and Annie do pull from the Elie Saab couture closet to give such a beautiful moment at the American Music Awards.
Actress Chloe Grace Moretz is on the list of presenters for Sunday night's American Music Awards and I am trying to figure out what the 18 year old actress would wear. I ended up settling on this Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture bright yellow embellished coat dress because its edgy yet mod which is exactly what I think an actress presenting at a music awards show should be. No need for big gowns for this occasion as it really isn't her night. I would keep the styling simple with a pair of black Christian Dior pointed toe pumps and a mod hairstyle to keep this look chic and simple without it turning into a costume.
After attending both the Grammy Awards and the VMA's this year with no real purpose other than wearing a pretty dress on the red carpet Ciara will actually have a duty at the 2015 American Music Awards as a presenter. If record has anything to say about it Ciara will be wearing Alexandre Vauthier on Sunday but after inspecting all of the current collections and the couture archive there isn't a look from the label that I particularly love for her. This black and white Alexander McQueen Spring 2016 RTW long sleeve lace turtle neck gown embroidered with a beautiful eagle on the other hand is something that I can totally picture Ciara wearing and working the hell out of. Many devoted red carpet fanatics, myself included, are sick of the naked dress trend but it seems like is has no signs of slowing down and when the gown can be this fierce who can really complain. Sleek hair pulled into a tight bun, a bronze smokey eye, a pair of diamond cluster earrings, and strappy black sandals will complete this perfect look for the AMA red carpet.
Making her first appearance on this blog in a wish list model Gigi Hadid is going to be presenting Sunday night at the 2015 American Music Awards. I am intrigued as to what Gigi will end up wearing on the red carpet. After making a splash in two Atelier Versace gowns on Oscar night I was excited to see more from Gigi but sadly she has not really lived up to that standard she set. For Sunday nights awards I would love to see Gigi wearing this lipstick red Elie Saab Spring 2016 RTW strapless stretch cady and silk georgette jumpsuit for the red carpet. I was surprised when I saw Gigi on this runway and I think that she would fit right in wearing this collection on the red carpet. A pair of gold sandals, beachy waves, and fresh faced makeup will ensure that Gigi injects some cool girl status into this music awards red carpet.
Gwen Stefani will be on hand Sunday night as the only performer in this group. Gwen will be performing her new song "Used To Love You" and I am really excited to see what she will be rocking on the red carpet and during her performance. Her duo of Atelier Versace looks at the 2015 Grammy Awards were AMAZING and I am hoping that she continues to make amazing sartorial decisions. I would love to see Gwen take on the Marc Jacobs Spring 2016 RTW collection for the red carpet. There are a lot of looks that I think she could work the hell out of but I ultimately decided to choose this blue surrealist print gowns which looks like they have been dip dyed in bleach. I love how this gown gives a laid back approach to high glamour and I honestly think Gwen is one of the few that could make this look crazy high fashion. I would finish the look with Gwen's signature red lip, a vintage inspired hairstyle, a pair of silver pumps, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings to keep the vintage inspired air of this look going on the red carpet.

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here.

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Wish List Part 1

I am taking a break from the main ceremony to focus on some of the Oscar night parties for the next few days. These events can be just as glam and give just as much high fashion as the main show does. Amy Adams did not receive an Oscar nomination this year but I am still praying that she decides to hit up a few of the parties. I would love to see Amy on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet wearing this shocking pink Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture silk gown. The silhouette of this gown is one we don't see from Amy very often but I think that the simple style with the bold color and pattern would just sing a beautiful with Amy on the red carpet.
Anna Kendrick is going to be performing at the Academy Awards ceremony next Sunday night and then I am sure she will head out to the parties. I am also figuring that Anna will make a costume change on her way. I created this wish before she was announced as a performer at the ceremony so I do not know if Anna would wear a ball gown, but I would love to see her wear this amazing black and white liquid organza Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2015 gown that features a sweetheart neckline with multiple thin camisole-style straps, a black floral lace bodice that falls to a white floor length a-line skirt. This is a very pretty gown and I think that Anna would rock it on the red carpet. Old Hollywood waves, a red lip, a black Edie Parker clutch and a pair of black strappy Christian Louboutin sandals would be the perfect finishing touches to put Anna on top of the Best Dressed lists.
The Best Supporting Actress nominated Emma Stone usually changes out of her Oscars ceremony gown and into a second look for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. I have a feeling that is going to be the case next Sunday night. I picked a beautiful blue and gold Valentino Couture ballgown for Emma to wear for the ceremony so I figured I would give her something that wasn't as much for the Vanity Fair Party. I picked this light gold embroidered high neck gown from the Valentino "Sala Bianca" Haute Couture collection that was presented to commemorate the reopening of the Valentino NYC Flagship. This collection has been receiving a lot of red carpet love and I am sure that time is nowhere near up. I think that this gold gown would make Emma look like a flaming goddess. Finish the look with a gold Lee Savage clutch, a pink lip and a pair of gold sandals and Emma will show why she is one of the best dressed women on the red carpet scene.
Emmy Rossum is going to be hosting the Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday night so I am hoping that she will stay in LA through Oscars night and attend the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. Emmy is one of my favorite women who rocks red carpets. Very rarely does Emmy disappoint on the red carpet. I would love to see Emmy wear this heavy georgette Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2015 halter gown with a front opening that reveals a vibrant orchid print. I love this gown. When this gown is not in motion this gown you don't really see the print but it is a fun unexpected punch.
I could not find a Dior gown for Felicity Jones to wear for the actual Academy Awards ceremony, even though I feel like she will wear a custom dress. I would love to see her change into this floral print Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture cocktail dress with side cutouts. This is a mix of 50's housewife and ultra sleek modernity. This is something that I really want to see Felicity do on the red carpet. She does the prim look so well it would be nice to see Felicity wear something with a little edge. Silver sandals and chic hair and  makeup would finish this look off perfectly for the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party red carpet.
This year Gwen Stefani is rumored to be dropping not only an album with No Doubt but also releasing another solo album. I would love to see Gwen on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Party next Sunday night. The Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture collection was really popular for Grammy weekend and I think that Gwen should get her hands on this collection. I would love to see Gwen wear this silver sequined long sleeve Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture gown with a plunging neckline and split to there. The belt reminds me of a heavyweight championship belt so I would probably switch it up and pair it with a black Alaia belt, black sandals, a red lip sand some stunning Chopard diamond earrings to ensure that Gwen is a red carpet hit.
Hilary Swank always wows the fuck out of me. There is something about her grace and elegance that I just love to see her in what ever she wears. I would love to see Hilary wear this Elie Saab brown and blue long sleeve mermaid gown with sweeping train and all over embellishments from the Fall 2014 Couture collection. This gown would be a stunning look for Hilary to wear for the Vanity Fair Party. It is chic and sophisticated and Hilary would infuse sex into the look. A blue clutch, old Hollywood waves and a pair of black sandals would finish this look off perfectly for the Vanity Fair red carpet.

Top 10 Looks from the 2015 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards took place in LA last night and more celebs to the the red carpet and killed it. I will say that before I begin there was almost NO color on this red carpet. There are only two looks on this list that had color. I was slightly disappointed in that but I will say the stars worked monochromatic looks with great abandon. Topping my Best Dressed list is Taylor Swift. The now Pop Princess really took her red carpet style to another level in her custom Elie Saab turquoise sleeveless ball gown with a mini skirt cutaway. Listing these elements this look should have been a total looser but somehow Taylor makes it all work. The aqua earrings and fuchsia sandals just kept this look youthful fresh and modern. This is the kinda statement that I love to see on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
Gwen Stefani wore two looks from Atelier Versace last night. With my thirst for color needing to be quenched I picked her stunning red performance gown to be the runner up to Taylor. Her red carpet jumpsuit was amazing (though lacking a bold lipstick), this was the statement that I figured that Gwen would make for the Grammy Awards. For someone not nominated or performing I have to say that Rita Ora really dazzled me in her sparkling custom Prada silver long sleeve pailette covered gown. The human disco ball as she is being called really gave me thirst for a true diva moment on the Grammy carpet. When Rihanna showed up at the Grammy Awards last night her Giambattista Valli Couture ball gown the internet immediately started calling her a couture cupcake or a sugary pink loofah, and I have to agree. I did not like that gown, but when she changed into her black oversized Maison Marigela Spring 2015 Couture double breasted tuxedo that she paired with a dazzling Chopard diamond necklace. This was a chic look. I wanted Rihanna to stray away from this look but I loved this more than her left field ball gown.
I think my biggest shock of the night was how much I loved Nicki Minaj in her custom Tom Ford black gown with its deep plunging neck and beaded fringe skirt. Nicki has been toning down her red carpet style and I have to say that I am loving what she is putting down. Jessie J brought the sheer drama to the red carpet in her Ralph & Russo Fall 2014 Couture gown. I was happy that Jessie paired this gown with black panties instead of the nude ones that the gown was presented with. I got alien queen realness from Jessie. I was happy to see her represent her homeland wearing a British designer, and she did them proud. For her moving performance during the Grammy telecast Katy Perry let the stage be all about her voice wearing an off white Valentino Couture gown from the collection presented to honor the reopening of the NYC Flagship store. I loved how simple Katy kept this look, especially since she showed up on the red carpet in a beaded Zuhair Murad cocktail dress and a Purple wig.
And the last set of ladies were more of the black and white showing that they could be anything but basic. I was not a fan of Lady Gaga on the Grammy Carpet but for her performance with Tony Bennett and the awards photocall I loved the black beaded and feather embellished Brandon Maxwell strapless gown with a Jessica Rabbit v-neck was just lovely. It gave the perfect air for the type of music that Gaga and Bennett have been producing and performing lately. I think the toned down Gaga was exactly what I was expecting to see at the Grammy Awards and she more than delivered for me. The other Tom Ford look on the Grammy red carpet was from Jennifer Hudson. Her minimalistic perfectly tailored strapless white cocktail dress could have been very snooze worthy but thanks to the precision tailoring and expert styling this sang a sultry song on the Grammy Awards red carpet. And last but not least I have to give Anna Kendrick some real credit for totally stepping out of her princess gown and mini dress comfort zone and rocking a perfectly tailored Band of Outsiders tuxedo. Keeping the styling minimal let this amazing look shine, and leaving me wanting more from Anna.

2015 Grammy Awards: Performers Wish List

Gwen Stefani is set to perform at the Grammy Awards tomorrow night with Maroon 5. Their song "My Heart is Open" is a soft a brokenhearted love ballad. I figure that Maroon 5 will perform another of their hit songs, then Gwen will join in to perform "My Heart is Open," then we will get our first taste of Gwen's album that is set to be released later this year. To do so I would love to see Gwen wear this amazing silver beaded fringe long sleeve Balmain Pre-Fall 2015 trapeze cocktail dress. This is a perfect look for a performer. It has movement, sparkle and impact. A pair of black pumps and a rep lip are just the finishing touches that are needed to complete this perfect Grammy Awards performance ensemble for Gwen.
I always love to see Jessie J perform. She is a spitfire performer, a true diva. Tomorrow night at the Grammy Awards, Jessie J will be performing with the iconic Tom Jones for a once in a lifetime collaboration. This is going to be an amazing performance, I can just feel it. Jessie rocks a catsuit like no other and I think that this silver beaded striped Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture catsuit is absolutely perfect for a Grammy Awards performance. Its sexy yet still sophisticated which is exactly what Jessie is all about. A pair of silver pumps would just round out this look for the Grammy stage.
Lady Gaga gave us our first taste of the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture collection at the MusicCares Person of the Year Gala. I have a feeling that is not going to be the last gown from the collection that we see Gaga wear this weekend. Her work with Tony Bennett has definitely affected how Gaga dresses and I am loving this way turned down version of herself that she is putting out. Since the music on their Grammy nominated album "Cheek to Cheek" is all classic jazz style I would love to see Gaga wear this silver crystal embellished Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture gown with sheer paneling to perform with Tony during the Grammy telecast on Sunday night. I think that the sleek elegant yet still overt sexiness of this gown is perfect for Gaga and the Grammy Awards. A pair of silver pumps and something to make it Gaga would just finish this performance look perfectly.
Rihanna will perform her new single "FourFiveSeconds" on the Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday night with Kanye West and Paul McCartney. I am really excited to see this performance as I am totally obsessed with this song. In the video, Rihanna goes for normcore realness in a denim jacket, jeans, and work boots. I am going for the same feel with this Altuzzara Pre-Fall 2015 utilitarian chic jumpsuit. I would keep this look Grammy ready with having Rihanna with a full head of long curly locks, a red lip, and a pair of spiked Christian Louboutin pumps. This keeps the normcore chic that was projected with the video but elevates it for probably the most important performance of the song that RiRi will give.

2015 Grammy Awards: Beyonce, Gwen, Jessie, & Lady Gaga Red Carpet Wish List

Beyonce is nominated for six Grammy Awards come Sunday night and I am probably most excited to see what the Queen will wear on the red carpet. We have seen a variable of different styles from Queen B over the past year and that is making it really hard to pick a gown for her to wear for the Grammy's. I think that Beyonce is due for a major Grammy red carpet moment, since she skipped the carpet last year. I picked this grey Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture gown covered in crystal embellishments and FEATHERS! I love feathers and I think that they are the perfect embellishment for the Grammy Awards. They are fun, flirty, and sexy; all things that a Grammy look needs to be. A wavy bob, red lip, dazzling Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, and a pair of gunmetal grey peep toe pumps would totally finish this look off perfectly for Beyonce and the Grammy Awards.
Gwen Stefani has been slated to perform with Maroon 5 during the live telecast during the 2015 Grammy Awards on Sunday night. The last time we saw Gwen on the Grammy red carpet was back in 2006 when she covered up her baby bump with a leopard print L.A.M.B. gown dip dyed in green. That was an ICONIC red carpet moment and I am hoping that we see another major moment from Gwen on Sunday night. I went with a sexy yet sleek statement for Gwen to make on the red carpet via this Fausto Puglisi Pre-Fall 2015 purple and black gown that is covered up except for a slit to there. This gown would make a stunning red carpet moment. I would combat the modernity of this gown with a 1940's inspired hair style, a red lip, and a pair of simple black crystal embellished sandals to ensure that Gwen has a MAJOR red carpet moment on Sunday.
Jessie J is nominated with her collaborators Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their hit song "Bang Bang" at the Grammy's on Sunday night. Jessie is also going to be performing with the legendary Tom Jones! For the red carpet I expect Jessie J to make a major moment and this white Stephane Rolland Spring 2015 Couture cape gown with a plunging neck, split to there, and silver embellishments at the arm holes is definite a statement to make. It takes a woman with A LOT of DIVA attitude, like Jessie, to not be overwhelmed by this gown on the red carpet. A chic bun, a bold red lip, and a pair of silver Christian Louboutin sandals would just make sure that Jessie sings a DIVA song on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
Finally up last but not least for today I have a wish for Lady Gaga. I had kinda fallen out of love with the antics of Lady Gaga but I have noticed a SLIGHTLY more demure version of the star known for her outrageous style since she has been touring with Tony Bennett. Since Lady Gaga is nominated with Mr Bennett for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and based on the fact that the two will be performing together during the telecast I am predicting that we will see the most toned down version of Lady Gaga ever at the Grammy's on Sunday night. Yes I think that this Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture black swarovski crystal embellished body suit with a full white ball gown skirt, which shows just the perfect amount of leg, is toned down for the star. I would hope that Gaga doesn't pair this stunning couture look with her high platform boots like she is known for. I would pick a pair of the knee high peep toe boots that were also presented with the Atelier Versace Fall 2014 Couture collection. A red lip and an over the top wig would be the final touches that I could see Lady Gaga adding to this ensemble to ensure that her stamp has been added to this look.

Join me and Kelly from Dream In Lace on Sunday night as we live tweet all the crazy that comes down the Grammy Awards red carpet. We will be starting our live tweeting about 5PM EST and you can follow me and Kelly for all your Fashion ID's and of course LOTS of snarky commentary.

2014 Cannes Film Festival: L'Oreal Spokesmodels Freida Pinto, Gwen Stefani, Jane Fonda, & Jennifer Lopez Wish List

Frieda Pinto has only been rocking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival since 2012 but she has been rocking it none the less. I will say that while high impact most of Mrs Pinto's Cannes gowns have been on the more demure side of grand, and I am hoping that she will give us some amazing statements this year. First wish I have is something that is more along what Frieda has worn in the past with an ice blue Atelier Versace Spring 2014 Couture one shoulder gown with a thigh high split. This look is sexy, demure, elegant, and show stopping perfect for the red carpet. The other gown I picked is much more impact making, This white Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture sleeveless gown is a major red carpet moment just waiting to happen. If you watch the runway show on YouTube you can see that the circular pattern is actually comprised of sequins. I would add a red waist band to really define Frieda's waist as she is only 5'5 in comparison to the almost 6 foot model. A pair of white pumps or sandals with a red clutch would just make this look even more high impact.
L'Oreal gal Gwen Stefani has been MIA from the Cannes Film Festival red carpets since her last appearances in 2011 and I am dying to see the stunning rockstar make her return to the red carpet. No one knows how to do the old Hollywood rockstar look quite like Gwen and that is something that I love to see when she takes to the red carpet. She gives us proper 50's housewife from the neck up and modern rock goddess from the neck down. If L'Oreal books Gwen on the red carpets this year I would love to first see her wear this amazing Alexis Mabille Spring 2014 Couture ivory gown with s side cutout and draped shawl detail. This gown is the epitome of Gwen's style, classic with an edge and she is one of the few women that I can see being able to pull this gown off for the red carpet. The other gown I picked for Mrs Stefani is my favorite Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture black to silver ombre strapless embellished gown. I know that since this gown did not get a moment at the 2014 Academy Awards that someone will snatch it up for the Cannes Film Festival. This would defiantly play more into the glamour goddess thing that Gwen does and would look sensational on her.
Jane Fonda always rocks the red carpet in Cannes giving us one look to talk about after another. Last year Jane gave her most talked about look ever in an aqua Atelier Versace gown that featured side cutouts. At the age of 76 not one of her peers, who are mostly under the age of 35, is able to outdo her. The first look that I am wishing to see on the stunning actress is the opening pale pink floral embellished long sleeved number from the Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture collection. This is a much more feminine look that Jane doesn't do very often and would be a change of pace for her and a glamorous one at that. The other look that I am praying for is one that is much more associated with Mrs Fonda. This deep jade green Zac Posen Fall 2014 RTW long sleeved gown which is completely backless. Its the mix of classic, sexy, and elegant which makes this the perfect look for Jane for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival red carpets.
Jennifer Lopez is another L'Oreal girl that has been missing on the red carpets of Cannes since she attended a single event, the amFAR Gala, in 2010. I really think that this is a place where Jennifer can shine on the red carpet. No one does the big diva red carpet moments like Jennifer Lopez, though Eva Longoria certainly does try. For this years event I have picked two gowns for Jennifer, actually it was three but the other Zuhair Murad Couture gown I wanted to see Jenny wear was snatched up by Zhang Ziyi. The first gown that I have picked for Jennifer is this one shouldered Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture embellished white gown with a hip peplum and a sexy split up to there. This is a true diva moment and I think that Jenny is one of the few women that would give this look the attitude to really make it werk the way it should. The other gown I have picked for JLo is this Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture leopard print embroidered ball gown. This is a gown that really makes a statement and I am praying that the wearer really does it justice and makes it a crazy memorable moment that I will have to consider for Best Dressed of the Year, and Jennifer would do that for me.

2013 Cannes Film Festival: amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala Wish List Part 2

Gwen Stefani has been a guest of amFAR and Elton John at their respective AIDS research galas and as a L'Oreal spokesmodel it would not surprise me to see her take to the red carpet on the 23rd at this years amFAR Cinema Against AIDS gala. I am hoping she does in fabulous style to redeem herself from the tragic moment at the 2013 Met Ball. To do so I have dug into the Armani Prive archive back to 2011 and this navy blue and red Armani Prive Spring 2011 Couture (not RTW! my mistake!) architectural gown. I have been dying to see a celebrity take to the red carpet wearing this gown but as of yet it has not been the case and Gwen has the attitude to pull it off. Complete the look with a sleek ponytail and a pair of red pumps, as presented on the runway, an Gwen will wow me on the amFAR gala red (or should I say white) carpet.
On her first red carpet this year at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival Jane Fonda wowed in an aqua Atelier Versace gown and I am hoping that her wow factor keeps on coming during her run, which I am most certainly sure it will. For the 2013 amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala next week I would love to see Jane wear Georges Hobeika Signature Fall 2013 RTW. Georges Hobeika isn't a brand that we often see on the red carpet and I am disappointed in this but the celebrity following is growing and Mrs Fonda is one of the celebs that turns to him for red carpet gowns. This midnight blue Georges Hobeika Signature Fall 2013 RTW gown is perfect for Jane as it has her required long sleeves and fitted silhouette. A pair of black peep toe Salvatore Ferragamo pumps, a black minaudiere, as well as diamond & sapphire earrings from Chopard and Jane will continue a glam run.
Janet Jackson is a regular at amFAR events which was founded by one of her late brother's, Michael Jackson, closest friends Elizabeth Taylor to help end the AIDS epidemic. We have seen Janet wear the likes of Hadier Ackerman, Marchesa, and Emilio Pucci to these events in the past few years and this year I am hoping the Janet will call upon her friend Donatella Versace to create her gown for this event. Now yes I did say gown and have a cocktail dress shown here. I would like Janet and Donatella to take this gown and have it made into a full length gown for the singer to wear for this years gala. I think that this dress as presented is something that Janet would own but is not quite event appropriate. This gown paired with Christian Louboutin 'Lady Max' black sandals, and a Christian Louboutin 'Marquis' spike embellished clutch and Janet will wow on the red carpet.
While I was misinformed that Kirsten Dunst was going to be in attendance during the opening of the 'Un Certain Regard' selection during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday she has been spotted arriving at the Nice airport yesterday. As an amFAR Gala regular I would not be surprised to see the star at the event on Thursday. For this red carpet I would love to see Kirsten wear this electric blue Jason Wu Fall 2013 RTW gown. This gown requires someone who has an air of effortless sophistication and Kirsten is one of the few that I could believe would pull it off. No clutch, a pair of black sandals, a sleek up do, and minimal diamond jewelery will put her on the path to a best dressed look at this years amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala!

2013 Cannes Film Festival: L'Oreal Spokesmodel's Wish List Part 5

Gong Li has made a few home runs in the fashion department at the Cannes Film Festival, most notably her grape Roberto Cavalli Couture gown worn to the festival in 2011. I am hoping to see the stunning Chinese actress back at the festival this year working for L'Oreal. When Cannes and L'Oreal pair up there is rarely a misstep. Well here I have my three must see looks on Gong. Up first I have a stunning red and charcoal Armani Prive Spring 2013 Couture ball gown. I think that this is a stunning choice only if it is possible to have a train added to this look as I think for this festival Gong needs a dramatic train. The red lace Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture gown would be perfect for the 47 year old actress who doesn't look a day over 30. The demure but grand elegance of this gown would have fashion audiences everywhere swooning at her ensemble. And finally we have a gold Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 Couture gown, the coloring would look amazing on Gong and again has a demure grandness that just would shine bright like a diamond on the Cannes red carpet.
In 2011 Gwen Stefani was not exactly on top form at the Cannes Film Festival wearing a Stella McCartney jumpsuit and a Giorgio Armani gown. Each look seemed too contrived for Gwen who left the over the top shtick behind years ago for more subtle glamorous look. Well I am hoping to see the pop star back on the on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals during the span of the festival from May 16th to the 26th. There are so many looks that I would love to see the blond bombshell wear on the red carpet, but I have narrowed it down to just three, starting with this midnight blue Armani Prive Fall 2012 Couture gown. The gowns from the Fall collections have their last shot at being worn by a major celebrity on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and I think this gown paired with Gwen's diva attitude would work fantastically for her at this event. Next we have another Armani design but this one is from the Giorgio Armani Fall 2013 RTW collection. The black and white keyhole blouse paired with a black skirt is a glamorous modern take on Old Hollywood. Up last we have a cream Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 Couture gown with a stunning structured cape. No one has worn a look similar to this since Gwyneth Paltrow's Tom Ford gown at the 2012 Oscars and I think that Cannes would be a perfect place for Gwen to go up against Gwyneth in a who wore the trend better poll even though each look is similar but different in complete opposite ways.
And up last we have last years runner up for Best 50+ on the red carpet Jane Fonda. The actress has found an amazing plastic surgeon and has tweaked little bits as she has aged and she looks damn good for  her age of 75. Three looks I would love to see from Jane this festival are this stunning blue Georges Hobeika Signature Fall 2013 RTW gown. Jane knows how to cover up, dress for her age, and look oh so sexy all at the same time and this gown would give her the body hugging that she loves. Next is a white Marchesa Pre-Fall 2013 gown that was sold on ModaOperandi.com. This is a very different look for Jane as I do not think I have seen her show her arms on a red carpet in a very long time, but this is the French Riviera in May its the perfect time to be floaty and carefree. And finally we have a stunning deep red Valentino Fall 2013 RTW gown with a pleated skirt. I picture this gown on someone of maturity not just because of the silhouette but because it would need someone with that air of sophistication not to make this gown look like a sister wife dress.

Haute Couture Wish List: Georges Chakra

'The Phantom of the Opera' and 'Shameless' star Emmy Rossum always looks stunning when she walks the red carpet. She loves to wear bold colors and metallic's when she steps out on the red carpet. I think that this gold Fall 2012 Couture full skirted dress is something that I would love to see Emmy wear maybe for one of the Pre-Emmy Awards parties.
Fergie has been showcasing a bit of a more demure red carpet style as of late and I am not sure why but I like it. I think that this red, white, and metallic Georges Chakra gown is something that would look absolutely amazing in this for maybe something like the American or Europe Music Awards
Gwen Stefani has an amazing sense of fashion that mixes quirky with elegance and demure. I think that this long sleeved black gown has that mix with the incorporation of the zebra print chiffon on the train.
Michelle Trachtenberg has wowed in black and white Georges Chakra before. She looked absolutely stunning last year at the Hollywood Domino Pre-Oscar party (pictured left). I think that this gown would be perfect for the star for possibly an Opera or Ballet opening in New York City.

2012 Elton John AIDS Foundtation Oscar Viewing Party Best Dressed

Spanish beauty Paz Vega rocked the Elton John AIDS Foundations Oscar Viewing Party wearing a stunning Stephane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture gown. I love that even though this dress is completely covered that Paz still looks sexy. The other thing I really love about this look is the amazing layered hip detail as it adds visual interest to such a otherwise simple look.
Dita Von Teese can do no wrong in my eyes on the red carpet and she proved why the other night at the Elton John party wearing a pale pink Jenny Packham gown with embellished sleeves and neckline. She always knows how to make the most modern gowns look like they stepped out of a a store in the 1940's. Like I said it will take a lot for me to not put her on a best dressed list.
I expected Heidi Klum to step out in a screw you seal dress and this stunning yellow Atelier Versace Spring 2012 Couture mini dress was just what she needed. When I pictured Heidi walking the red carpet I figured she was going to wear a gown with an extreme neck plunge but instead she covered her breasts and showed her back and legs in this stunning dress. Heidi is not one the world should count out and she would look absolutely stunning in this.
Gwen Stefani is either a hit or a miss on the red carpet for me. Well last night she was a hit in this Asian inspired Zuhair Murad Fall 2011 Couture dress. Gwen who tends to favor Asian influenced looks is working her black and red couture dress.
Marisa Miller looked absolutely stunning and much like an Oscar wearing this amazing golden shimmering Johnna Johnson dress. I think that the model who tends to favor much sexier and revealing gowns and cocktail dresses would looks amazing in this. I am really happy I get to feature her on this list this year.
Rose McGowan worked this orange and black Paule Ka. I love Rose as she looked amazing in this gown but also for the fact that no matter what she is wearing always looks like she is working a haute couture fashion photo shoot.
Speaking of looking like she is working a Haute Couture photo shoot, Petra Nemcova looked amazing in her red Stephane Rolland Spring 2012 Couture gown with a center cutout and draped fabric off the shoulder down the front of this dress. She knows she looks good hence why she is working it so hard.
I was pleased to see Zhang Ziyi look so stunning in Elie Saab grey blue (much like Penelope Cruz's gown) and she just looked so goddess-y. I think that this gown looks amazing on her frame and was well put together.
Nina Dobrev looked great in her sexy vampire chic (lol) J. Mendel Fall 2012 RTW gown. She sat front row at this show in New York and she was obviously shopping the runways for the gown that she was going to wear on Sunday and she chose such a stunning gown.
Last but not least we have a stunning red chiffon gown by Maria Lucia Hohan on Ashley Tisdale. Ashely looks all the part of California blonde that she should be. The tan the hair the gown just looks effortless I am excited to see she isn't going insane after her peak of stardom and actually looks presentable and age appropriate on the red carpet.
