2015 Acadey Awards: Guests Wish List

Sad day. It is the last Academy Awards wish list for 2015, but on a high note the Oscars are TONIGHT! So this list falls upon deaf ears as all these ladies have most likely picked their Oscar gowns. Anna Faris will most likely be on the Oscars red carpet as the arm candy of her hunky husband Chris Pratt, who will be on hand tonight as a presenter. I would love to see Anna go for a princess moment wearing this lilac Monique Lhuillier Spring 2015 RTW embroidered tulle V-neck ball gown features a violet ombre of beaded embroidery descending from the V-neck bodice in to a full skirt. I am surprised that this gown has not been worn thus far in Awards Season and I think that with the release of the Fall 2015 RTW collection last week that there is slim chance that this gown could get worn but I would love to see Anna wear it tonight.
Behati Prinsloo is the lucky lady that calls Academy Awards performer Adam Levine her husband. Behati has been at Adams side at all of his red carpet appearances since their wedding and I am sure that will continue through tonight. I would love to see Behati go for art deco Hollywood glam with this long sleeve completely beaded Naeem Khan Fall 2015 RTW black and silver gown that features directional striping, long sleeves, plunging v-neck, and a split up to there. This gown is the epitome of Hollywood glamour and the Oscars are the epitome of Hollywood. That makes this gown perfect.
I have to say that I am just as excited to see Camila Alves take to the red carpet on the arm of Matthew McConaughey as some of the nominees. Camila always gets it right on the red carpet and I am expecting nothing less come the Oscars this evening. I am praying that we will see the Brazilian bombshell wearing this pastel lemon yellow Georges Hobeika Spring 2015 Couture trumpet gown with a boat neck and bow belt. This is a perfect look for a guest of a presenter because it is dramatic enough for Camila but also says I respect the nominees.

2015 Academy Awards: Performers Wish List

Anna Kendrick is going to be taking to the Academy Awards stage tomorrow night. I have absolutely no idea what it is that she will be performing but I am excited to see what she will wear. I picked this gold Badgley Mischka Fall 2015 RTW strapless embroidered trumpet gown. While I don't ever remember Anna wearing Badgley Mishka I think that this gown would look amazing on the petite starlet. Changing gears from the major red carpet gown I figure that Anna will change, most likely into another gown, for her performance. This simple black Jenny Packham Pre-Fall 2015 gown with a plunging neckline and crystal embellishments would be perfect for Anna to perform in. This gown is flowing and would be perfect for a variety of different types of performances. Only time will tell what Anna will be performing and I can not wait.
Jennifer Hudson is coming back to the Oscars stage to perform yet again. After finally getting back in my good graces in her simple white Tom Ford cocktail dress at the Grammy Awards, I am praying that Jennifer continues to wow me at the Academy Awards. When I was watching the Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015 RTW collection and I saw this copper long sleeve backless metallic gown, my wheels started turning to figure out who should snatch it up for the Oscars. JHud is that person. I think that the copper color would look amazing against her skin tone and I would just die if she werked this gown on the Oscars red carpet. To perform, most likely the in memoriam segment, I would love to see Jennifer wear this grey embellished one shoulder gown from the same collection with a side cutout. This would look absolutely amazing on Jennifer, if she doesn't opt for a black ensemble. A pair of silver sandals and a red lip will finish off this look perfect for the stage.
Lady Gaga is the real surprise performer at tomorrow nights Academy Awards. I was really shocked when I got the press release that Gaga was performing. She did attend last year, as a guest of Chopard, so seeing her make a repeat Oscars appearance was shocking. For the red carpet I would love to see Gaga wear this amazing white Ralph & Russo Fall 2014 Couture asymmetrical ruffled gown with black floral embellishments. This is the over the top yet glam look that I was expecting Gaga to go for on the Grammy's red carpet but I think will infuse some fun into the Oscars red carpet. What will Gaga be performing? I honestly have no idea. This years Academy Awards are featuring more performances than ever. All of the Oscar nominated songs are being performed, on top of the performances by Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Hudson and Gaga. I think that this Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 jumpsuit that features all over embellishments, a plunging neckline and attached train. This makes this look sexy, glamorous, over the top and most importantly Oscars stage ready.
Rita Ora is the only woman whom I know what she will be performing tomorrow night at the Academy Awards. The British pop star will be performing the Oscar nominated song "Grateful" from "Beyond the Lights." Before she takes to the stage Rita will work her first Oscars red carpet. I would love to see her do so in this hot pink Zac Posen Fall 2015 RTW glitter infused taffeta structured ball gown. I love this gown. I was really disappointed in Zac's fall collection but this was definitely I high point and I figure that a pop star will get her hand on this bold statement of a gown. I think this mixes Rita's bold personality with the formality of the Academy Awards. For her performance I would love to see Rita bring out old Hollywood wearing this black and nude Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture embellished gown with a plunging neckline and a feather bolero. I can see this gown looking amazing with an orchestra behind Rita and lots of moving light beams, but I am really good at building up hype for an Oscars performance in my head and then get really let down.

Join me and Kelly from Dream In Lace tomorrow night at 5:30 PM EST as we live tweet all the looks from the Academy Awards. So grad your champagne and follow me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) for all kinds of fashion ID's and snarky commentary all night long.

2015 Academy Awards: Naomi, Nicole, Sienna & Zoe Wish List

I am excited to see Naomi Watts on the red carpet at the Academy Awards on Sunday night where she is going to be on hand as a presenter. I love seeing Naomi because I never know what she is going to show up wearing. I am hoping that she goes with classic ladylike glamour wearing this purple embroidered Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 RTW strapless ballgown with an exaggerated sweetheart neckline. I absolutely loved what Peter Copping did for Oscar de la Renta, it was truly like Oscar had his hands in this collection and I am in love. He hasn't come in a taken the house in his own direction, a la Heidi Slimane and Raf Simons, but really infused his talents into the core beliefs of the Oscar de la Renta legacy. Naomi doesn't do dark and brooding looks very often and I think that this gown would just be fabulous on her. Finish the look with a chic up do, a red lip, a black Edie Parker clutch, a statement diamond necklace and a pair of black sandals and Naomi will slay the Oscars red carpet.
It has been either love or loathe when it comes to what Nicole Kidman has been wearing on the red carpet. I am hoping that she gives me a major moment when it comes to the Academy Awards on Sunday night. Despite the fact that earlier this month Nicole had a major white moment, in Valentino Couture at the Berlin Film Festival, I would still love to see her wear this white double silk georgette Elie Saab Spring 2015 RTW which features a jewel neckline with allover beaded embroidery and draped panels that cascade over the shoulder. I think that this is a dramatic gown that needs a woman with presence to pull it off and I think that Nicole really has that presence. I would add a pair of diamond and colored stone earrings, forgo a clutch, throw on a pair of white peep toe pumps and finish off with a red lip to ensure that this is a dramatic best dressed moment on the red carpet.
Sienna Miller is going to be a busy woman. She will be performing on Broadway in "Cabaret" on Saturday night in New York City and then will be running to catch a red eye flight to LA to fulfill her duties as a presenter at the Academy Awards on Sunday. I am hoping that Sienna will champion a British designer on the Oscars red carpet. While it is more likely that she would wear a custom gown from the likes of Burberry or Alexander McQueen I would love to see Sienna wear this strapless coral Roksanda Pre-Fall 2015 gown rendered in silk wool blend and features a fitted A-line silhouette with micro-pleating details along the hem. I think that Sienna would be the perfect woman to bring Roksanda into being a household name with this gown on the Oscars red carpet. Finish the look with a statement necklace, a gold Edie Parker clutch and a pair of crystal embellished gold Miu Miu sandals and Sienna will hold her own on the tops of best dressed lists.
I am hoping that that Academy Awards on Sunday night sees Zoe Saldana back to her best. I have missed the amazing Zoe that I fell in love with on the red carpet during her pregnancy. I think that this white Jason Wu Fall 2015 RTW halter gown with a keyhole and thin black belt would be an amazing red carpet moment for Zoe. This might be too simple for most as an Oscars dress, especially for a high profile presenter, but I think that this would come as a welcome surprise. Finish the look with a pair of dazzling cluster earrings, an Edie Parker clutch, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals and a bold red lip and Zoe will have a welcome red carpet return come the Oscars.

2015 Academy Awards: Lupita, Octavia, Scarlett & Viola Wish List

Last year Lupita Nyong'o rocked the Academy Awards red carpet in a pretty Nairobi blue custom Prada gown before receiving her first Academy Award. I am excited to see what the stunning actress will bring to the red carpet on Sunday night. I am going to make the safe bet that Lupita will wear another custom Prada or Miu Miu gown for the Oscars on Sunday, but I am going to pray to the red carpet fashion gods that she wears this emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture beaded chiffon evening gown.. This soft gown would be perfection for Lupita to wear for the Academy Awards as a presenter. Finish this look with an emerald Edie Parker clutch, gold sandals and a bold red lip and Lupita will rock the hell out of the Oscars red carpet.
If anyone is a sure bet in who they are going to show up at the Academy Awards wearing it is definitely Octavia Spencer. The Academy Award winning actress has been loyal to Tadashi Shoji since she first stepped out on the red carpet scene, so seeing her wear any other designer would be very shocking. I was delighted to see that when Tadashi showcased his Fall 2015 RTW collection in New York City last week that there were a bevy of Academy Awards worthy gown in the mix. I would love to see this amazing navy blue tulle ball gown with a cream underlay and black embroidery. I think that this would look fantastic on Octavia who just keeps producing win after win for Tadashi. I would however modify this gown slightly and have the cream underlay changed to be navy, maybe something with a hint of sparkle. A black clutch, navy sandals, diamond earrings, a simple diamond bracelet and a red lip would put the perfect finishing touches on this red carpet look.
Scarlett Johansson will make her major red carpet debut at the Academy Awards on Sunday night since giving birth last year. I am really excited to see what the stunning blonde bombshell will wear on the red carpet. We don't get to see much of what comes down the runways during the Dolce & Gabbana Alta-Moda shows but from what I did see the collection was absolutely amazing. I would love to see ScarJo wear this strapless Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015 Alta-Moda red tulle mermaid gown. This is a dramatic gown that need a dramatic backdrop and what more dramatic than the Academy Awards red carpet, except for maybe the Met Ball. This corseted gown would show off Scarlett's enviable drop dead gorgeous post baby body. I would finish this look with old Hollywood waves, a red lip and a pair of simple gold pumps would made this the perfect red carpet look for Scarlett to show off that post-baby bod.
Thus far into awards season I have been blown away by Viola Davis. The "How to Get Away With Murder" star had fallen out of my red carpet graces with bland look after bland look. That was shut down when she stepped out in a red va va voom Donna Karan Atelier mermaid gown at the Golden Globe Awards. I am hoping that she keeps up her stunning run when she steps out on the Academy Awards red carpet to make her way to her presenter duties on Sunday night. I would love to see Viola wear this goldenrod yellow one shoulder Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015 RTW flowing Grecian draped gown. I think that this gown is simple enough for a presenter but wow enough for the Academy Awards. Finish this look off with a gold clutch, gold sandals, simple earrings and a glossy lip to ensure that Viola is red carpet ready.

2015 Academy Awards: Cate, Chloe, Dakota, Gwyneth & Jennifer Wish List

Winner of the 2015 Best Actress Oscar, Cate Blanchett will be on hand Sunday night at the 2015 Academy Awards as a presenter. I think the only sure thing about the Oscars red carpet is that Cate Blanchett will wear Armani. I am going to guess that Cate will wear a custom gown from Armani Prive founded from the ideas in the Spring 2015 Couture collection. If she were to pick one of the gowns right off the runway I would pick this one shoulder midnight blue silk blouse paired with a blue iridescent beaded skirt. I think that this coloring would look amazing against Cate's pale creamy complexion. A pair of black sandals, a red lip & Chopard diamond cluster earrings would finish off this perfectly for the Academy Awards red carpet.
Sunday night will mark the first Academy Awards for Chloe Grace Moretz. The 18 year old actress, whos film "Dark Places" will premiere later this year, will be on hand as a presenter. I am predicting that Chloe will most likely wear a custom gown but if I had to pick a runway gown for her to wear it would have to be this pastel pink embroidered back Antonio Berardi Spring 2015 RTW sleeveless silk organza gown which features a high round neck, an embroidered cape with sheer panels at the back and a floor length skirt with a train. I have been waiting to see this gown on the red carpet and thus far into awards season I am still waiting. This would be a glamorous yet youthful look for Chloe to wear for such a big night on the Academy Awards red carpet.
Dakota Johnson has yet to blow me away on the red carpet and I am not exactly thrilled that she is going to be on the red carpet at the Academy Awards come Sunday night. I am going to give her one more chance to give me something before I write her off. This Atelier Versace Fall 2014 Couture embellished sheer long sleeve top and satin ball skirt is what I think would make for a perfect red carpet look for Dakota for the red carpet at the Oscars. This is within Dakota's black and white color box that she has been living in and I think that this will make for a major red carpet moment. A chic updo, a red lip, a black clutch, simple diamond earrings and a pair of simple black sandals will finish this look off in a way that will make the gown the focus.
The moment that this Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture black cap sleeved embellished gown I put it on hold for Gwyneth Paltrow. This gown may remind me slightly of the Emilio Pucci ensemble that Gwynie wore for the 2011 Emmy Awards but I think that this look would still be able to hold it's own. I think first that this gown should be lined for the Oscars red carpet, and since Gwyneth is just presenting this would be a simple look for her to wear on the red carpet. A black clutch, old Hollywood waves, simple diamond earrings, a red lip and black sandals would finish this look off perfectly for the 2015 Academy Awards on Sunday night.
Well I am actually really surprised that Jennifer Aniston is going to be a presenter at this years Academy Awards, after many have vocalized that she was this years biggest snub. Never the less Jennifer will be on hand Sunday night to hand out one of those little gold men. I picked a tulle cap sleeve Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2015 that features a tulle construction with a V-neckline, a flared sheath silhouette and a pleated ruffled skirt. I am not a huge Aniston fan and I am on almost the same level of excitement for Jenn as I am for Dakota Johnson. As long as we don't see Jennifer's panties, a la the SAG Awards, I would count this as a win for her.

2015 Elton John Academy Awards Viewing Party Wish List

Elton John hosts a huge star studded gala benefit to watch the Academy Awards every year. The proceeds benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Dita von Teese is one of the ladies who I am hoping will be a guest at the Elton John party on Sunday night. Dita is always a favorite on the red carpet and I would love it if she showed up wearing this amazing Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture floral embellished caped cocktail dress. Dita was seated front row at the Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture collection presentation last month and I am still waiting for her to give a red carpet moment with one of these looks. The 1950s style is exactly what we would expect from the burlesque diva on the red carpet. Her classic old Hollywood beauty regiment, a pair of gold pumps and a gold clutch will ensure that Dita gives me a memorable red carpet moment on Oscar night.
Heidi Klum is one of the co-chairs of this years Elton John AIDS Foundation and I am sure that we will see the former Victoria's Secret model wearing a design from Atelier Versace. It would actually be really shocking to me if Heidi doesn't wear a Versace design. I would pick this sleek white Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture on sleeve asymmetrical gown. What I love about this gown for Heidi is that it would still be a shock while still being in her wheelhouse. The fact that there a zero embellishments on this gown would be the biggest shock of the night. Of course this gown would make for the perfect backdrop for some stunning statement Lorraine Schwartz colored diamond earrings. Finished with a pair of silver pumps and glossy hair and makeup and Heidi will for sure have a perfect red carpet look on her hand.
Karolina Kurkova is always a delight to see when she takes to the red carpet. It doesn't matter if she is stepping out for a front row or the Met Ball it is always a major look. Karolina was seated front row when Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli presented the Valentino "Sala Bianca" Couture collection to commemorate the grand re-opening of the Valentino NYC Flagship last month. I would love to see Karolina snatch up this simplistic white one shoulder gown from that collection. This gown is 90s glam at its best and I think that if anyone could breath life into such a simplistic gown it is Karolina. Finishing the look with a silver Edie Parker clutch, silver Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals and some simple Chopard diamond earrings would ensure that Karolina simplistically stuns.
Miley Cyrus is also a co-chair for the Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday night. I am hoping that the "Wrecking Ball" singer stops by and gives me a major red carpet moment. I think that going the mannish route via this Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo with patent leather detailing would be an amazing direction for Miley to go for this event. Everyone will be expecting Miley to show up in another of the ultra sexy looks from the Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture collection and I think that this is a look that is unexpected. A pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps, a statement Chopard diamond necklace and a bold red lip will ensure that Miley continues to shock people on the red carpet.
Every year Nina Dobrev dolls herself up and heads on over to raise money for the Elton John AIDS foundation at the Oscars viewing party looking absolutely fabulous. I am excited to see what Nina, and her stylist Ilaria Urbinati, are cooking up for this years gala. I would love to see Nina go short and in couture with this stunning Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture peach long sleeve embellished mini dress. Nina always goes for full gowns for these type of events, but doesn't the fact that this dress is couture make up for the fact that it isn't a gown? Nude sandals, a peachy pink Edie Parker clutch, simple diamond earrings, a chic updo and dewy makeup would finish this look off in just the right way for Nina for this event.
And last but not least we have the final wish for an Oscars party. Spanish actress is one of my favorites on the red carpet and I am excited to see if she takes to the red carpet on Sunday night. I would love to see Paz wear this Stephane Rolland Spring 2015 Couture long sleeve gown with sheer panels and beautiful trumpet skirt. The bodice and sleeves of this gown reminds me of medieval armor or dragon scales, but the whole gown gives off this a very modern vibe. I think this gown with Paz's new short hair, a red lip, a silver clutch, diamond cluster earrings and a pair of silver sandals will put Paz in the running for a Best Dressed of the Year ensemble.

2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Wish List Part 1

I am taking a break from the main ceremony to focus on some of the Oscar night parties for the next few days. These events can be just as glam and give just as much high fashion as the main show does. Amy Adams did not receive an Oscar nomination this year but I am still praying that she decides to hit up a few of the parties. I would love to see Amy on the Vanity Fair Oscar Party red carpet wearing this shocking pink Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture silk gown. The silhouette of this gown is one we don't see from Amy very often but I think that the simple style with the bold color and pattern would just sing a beautiful with Amy on the red carpet.
Anna Kendrick is going to be performing at the Academy Awards ceremony next Sunday night and then I am sure she will head out to the parties. I am also figuring that Anna will make a costume change on her way. I created this wish before she was announced as a performer at the ceremony so I do not know if Anna would wear a ball gown, but I would love to see her wear this amazing black and white liquid organza Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2015 gown that features a sweetheart neckline with multiple thin camisole-style straps, a black floral lace bodice that falls to a white floor length a-line skirt. This is a very pretty gown and I think that Anna would rock it on the red carpet. Old Hollywood waves, a red lip, a black Edie Parker clutch and a pair of black strappy Christian Louboutin sandals would be the perfect finishing touches to put Anna on top of the Best Dressed lists.
The Best Supporting Actress nominated Emma Stone usually changes out of her Oscars ceremony gown and into a second look for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. I have a feeling that is going to be the case next Sunday night. I picked a beautiful blue and gold Valentino Couture ballgown for Emma to wear for the ceremony so I figured I would give her something that wasn't as much for the Vanity Fair Party. I picked this light gold embroidered high neck gown from the Valentino "Sala Bianca" Haute Couture collection that was presented to commemorate the reopening of the Valentino NYC Flagship. This collection has been receiving a lot of red carpet love and I am sure that time is nowhere near up. I think that this gold gown would make Emma look like a flaming goddess. Finish the look with a gold Lee Savage clutch, a pink lip and a pair of gold sandals and Emma will show why she is one of the best dressed women on the red carpet scene.
Emmy Rossum is going to be hosting the Costume Designers Guild Awards on Tuesday night so I am hoping that she will stay in LA through Oscars night and attend the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party. Emmy is one of my favorite women who rocks red carpets. Very rarely does Emmy disappoint on the red carpet. I would love to see Emmy wear this heavy georgette Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2015 halter gown with a front opening that reveals a vibrant orchid print. I love this gown. When this gown is not in motion this gown you don't really see the print but it is a fun unexpected punch.
I could not find a Dior gown for Felicity Jones to wear for the actual Academy Awards ceremony, even though I feel like she will wear a custom dress. I would love to see her change into this floral print Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture cocktail dress with side cutouts. This is a mix of 50's housewife and ultra sleek modernity. This is something that I really want to see Felicity do on the red carpet. She does the prim look so well it would be nice to see Felicity wear something with a little edge. Silver sandals and chic hair and  makeup would finish this look off perfectly for the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party red carpet.
This year Gwen Stefani is rumored to be dropping not only an album with No Doubt but also releasing another solo album. I would love to see Gwen on the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Party next Sunday night. The Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture collection was really popular for Grammy weekend and I think that Gwen should get her hands on this collection. I would love to see Gwen wear this silver sequined long sleeve Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture gown with a plunging neckline and split to there. The belt reminds me of a heavyweight championship belt so I would probably switch it up and pair it with a black Alaia belt, black sandals, a red lip sand some stunning Chopard diamond earrings to ensure that Gwen is a red carpet hit.
Hilary Swank always wows the fuck out of me. There is something about her grace and elegance that I just love to see her in what ever she wears. I would love to see Hilary wear this Elie Saab brown and blue long sleeve mermaid gown with sweeping train and all over embellishments from the Fall 2014 Couture collection. This gown would be a stunning look for Hilary to wear for the Vanity Fair Party. It is chic and sophisticated and Hilary would infuse sex into the look. A blue clutch, old Hollywood waves and a pair of black sandals would finish this look off perfectly for the Vanity Fair red carpet.

2015 Academy Awards: Best Supporting Actress Nominees Wish List

Emma Stone has been slaying Awards Season, albeit she has only attended the Golden Globe and SAG Awards despite nominations at other awards shows. I am sure that the "Birdman" star will step out for the Academy Awards next weekend. I am hoping that Emma gives us a beautiful feminine statement since her previous two awards show look mastered the menswear trend. Emma started the journey to the Oscars with this film at the Venice Film Festival wearing a stunning Valentino Couture gown and I am wishing for her to end the journey in a stunning Valentino Couture gown. When I was watching the Valentino Spring 2015 Couture collection walk the runway, via the livestream, I was actually looking for a dress for Keira Knightley, but then this stunning celestial embroidered  ballgown took to the runway my Oscars wishes immediately changed. This needs an Oscars moment and Emma is the only person that I can see wearing it and making it WERK like it owes her $10. This would fulfill my need for color and feminine glamour from Emma at the Oscars. Sleek hair, a red lip, and gold sandals would be the final finishing touches to ensure a perfect Oscar look for Emma.
After deciding to go with Valentino for Emma Stone I started to dig into the Chanel archives to find a gown for Keira Knightley to wear for the Oscars next Sunday night. Keira has not been a shining maternity style star like we all expected her to be this awards season, but she has SLOWLY getting better and better. I am still waiting for Keira to give me a show stopping moment this awards season. I think that this black and white Chanel Fall 2006 Couture gown would give that to Keira. It would hide her baby bump that she wants so much but still be a big statement. A chic up do, a pair of black pumps, simple Chanel Fine Jewelry earrings and a bold red lip will ensure that Keira is ready for the Academy Awards red carpet.
Having not been nominated at any of the other awards shows it was very shocking to hear Laura Dern's name called out when the 2015 Academy Awards nominations. Never one to really make the couture splash I think that this pretty Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2015 black gown with gold embroidery would be a perfect gown for Laura to wear for the Oscars. Laura is not the likely to win, Patricia Arquette of "Boyhood" is,  so this is not something that should be out of her realm of possibilities. A pair of black sandals, a black and gold clutch and neutral makeup will finish this look off perfectly for Laura for the Oscars.
And finally for the nominees we have Meryl Streep, of course, whose role as the witch in "Into The Woods" earned her a nomination this year. I picked this eggplant Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2015 faux wrap gown with three quarter length sleeves and a crystal hip embellishment for Meryl to wear. Since she has not been announced to present and is not likely to win then this gown might be a little much of a stretch but I think that the 65 year old actress would look elegant and beautiful on the Oscars red carpet. Why not take the chance to get dressed up and have some fun, of course with 18 previous Oscar nominations it might just be another day at the office for Meryl. Stunning diamond earrings & black pumps are my recommendations for finishing off this look for the Academy Awards.

2015 Academy Awards: Best Actress Nominees Wish List

Before I officially delve into the 2015 Academy Awards I would just like to take a moment and acknowledge that this is the 1,000th post on If I Was A Stylist. This comes right off of reaching 100,000 page views just last week! So I just wanna say thank you once again for helping me keep this blog going! And without further ado ladies and gentlemen I bring you the start of the wish lists for the 2015 Academy Awards, which take place in Hollywood on February 22. We have been continuing to fall in love with Felicity Jones all through awards season. From her Dior gowns at the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Awards and her Balenciaga at the SAG Awards, each look has personified glamour, sophistication and elegance. While I figure that a custom Christian Dior gown is in the future for Mrs Jones, as is a contract to be a spokesmodel for the house, I am going to pick a runway look for Felicity to wear for the Oscars. I love this Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture high low ball gown covered in subtle embellishments and embroidery. This gown fits that elegant vintage glamour that Felicity loves to showcase on the red carpet. A pair of gold metallic pumps, vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond earrings, a chic up do and a bright yet soft pink lip would finish off this look perfectly for the actress nominated for her film "The Theory of Everything."
Julianne Moore is the one to beat thanks to her performance in "Still Alice." Having stunning in Givenchy Couture at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards and giving sexy its name in Tom Ford at the BAFTA Awards, I am really excited to see what Julianne wears on Oscar night. My main guess will be that her pal Karl Lagerfeld will custom make something from Chanel. I went back to the Chanel Fall 2014 Couture for my runway wish for Julianne. I absolutely love this feather and crystal embellished Chanel Fall 2014 Couture strapless bell shaped gown, but it needs some work to be red carpet read for Julianne to wear for the Oscars. First while I love the bell shape it would not look good on Julianne. Turning this gown into a column gown would make it much more red carpet ready and the feathers on the bodice would need to be trimmed down to accommodate for Julianne's petite frame. If Karl would make these adjustments for Julianne this would be a showstopping moment for the woman most likely to take home the naked gold man. Finish the look with an updo, something that Julianne has not done for a major awards show this season, a red lip, simple cluster earrings and a pair of very simple black sandals would finish off the look perfectly for Julianne.
Marion Cotillard is the surprise nominee at this years Academy Awards. I don't think even she expected the nomination. I say this because she wore the only Oscar worthy gown that was left from Christian Dior for the Critics Choice Movie Awards last month. Last year I started to doubt the partnership of Marion and Dior, but the start of this year has seen Marion back to her best. I think that this re-found confidence, and loads of risks, means that Marion is definitely one to keep our eyes on for Oscar night. After looking at the Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture I was left with two options, either Marion would take a HUGE risk for her Oscar gown or Raf Simons will be custom making something for Marion. I am hoping for the risk. While a blue lace strapless tea length gown with a full skirt is far from a conceptual risk it is a huge risk for the Oscars red carpet where floor length is an unspoken requirement for any of the ladies nominated for their acting (unless your under the age of 18). Finished with a pair of sparkling silver pumps, a red lip and chic vintage inspired hairstyle Marion will have an ensemble that will be the biggest statement at the Academy Awards.
With silver Calvin Klein at the Golden Globe Awards, white Giorgio Armani at the SAG Awards, and then purple Stella McCartney at the BAFTA Awards I still haven't had a WOW moment from Reese Witherspoon on the red carpet this awards season. I am praying that when the "Wild" star steps out for the Academy Awards that she really pulls out all the stops. This salmon pink Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ballgown with oversized crystal embellishments would be a statement for Reese. This gown is soft and classically pretty yet bold enough for a woman nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Reese would HAVE to put her hair up in sleek low bun with this dress, she has been favoring leaving her long locks flowing but I am praying for her to put a little more effort into her hair for the Oscars. A clean barely there makeup palette, simple earrings, and a pair of gold peep toe pumps would just round out this Oscar worthy look for Reese.
The red carpet paved road to the Oscars has been quite rocky for "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike. It started off with a white Vera Wang at the Golden Globe Awards which really did nothing for her, followed by an avant garde Christian Dior Couture trapeze dress at the SAG Awards that was okay but again didn't really do anything for her, and then a black Roland Mouret gown at the BAFTA Awards that was perfect in every way but made me lust for her to wear color. I am hoping that Rosamund really gives me something to talk about, in a good way, at the culmination of this journey: the Oscars. I picked this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2015 ink blue cap sleeve sequin mermaid inspired gown with scalloped lace embellishment and a plunging v-neckline. I think that this is a modern way to nod at old Hollywood glamour. The silhouette screams silver screen siren while the textile makes it modern (with the lace adding a bit of vintage love). Barely there inspired makeup, her hair styled in a sleek straight bob, silver sandals, a diamond bracelet and a pair of dazzling diamond earrings will ensure that Rosamund really wow's me on the Oscars red carpet.

2015 Independent Spirit Awards: Naomi, Rinko, Rosario, Sienna, & Tilda Wish List

The Independent Spirit Awards are the laid back awards ceremony held on the eve of the Academy Awards. The stars give more casual cocktail ensembles before donning couture ball gowns the next night. I am figuring that Naomi Watts will be on hand at the Spirit Awards since her film "Birdman" is nominated for Best Feature. I would love to see Naomi wear this lavender, white, black and yellow Roland Mouret Spring 2015 RTW asymmetrical caped pencil dress. I would not have Naomi wear the peach belt that the dress was paired with on the runway. With the dress being such a statement I would expect that Naomi would wear her hair in a chic updo, carry a white clutch, and I would add an unexpected pair of pale yellow sandals to finish off this elegant ensemble for the Spirit Awards.
When Rinko Kikuchi stepped out at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival she did not surprise me wearing Chanel, but did not wearing couture or a gown. I am hoping that the actress, who is nominated for Best Actress for "Kumiko, The Treasure Hunter," that she gives me a major red carpet moment. I would pick this amazing electric blue Chanel Spring 2015 Couture puff sleeve cocktail dress. It has been a long while since we have seen Rinko in a bold color and since she is always loyal to Chanel I think that this red carpet would be the perfect place to see Rinko rock this amazing cocktail dress. Finished of with simple make up, a gold clutch and a pair of gold pumps will make this look red carpet ready.
Rosario Dawson was on hand to help announce the nominees for the 2015 Independent Spirit Awards. Always on hand during Oscars weekend I am sure that we will see Rosario on the red carpet for the Spirit Awards. Since she is not nominated or in any of the nominated films I believe that this black Versace Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo with crystal simulated stitching embellishments would be a perfect look for Rosario to wear for the occasion. This tuxedo is sexy, and totally on the menswear trend but with a sexy ultra feminine touch. Finish the look with a black clutch, red lip, old Hollywood waves and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps will finish this look giving Rosario a look that I will love, when she is not often on my best dressed list.
Sienna Miller made an appearance in the film "Foxcatcher" which is going to receive the Special Distinction Award at the 2015 Independent Spirit Awards. It is spotty whether or not Sienna will join her co-stars at the Spirit Awards since she only made a few select appearances to help promote the movie. If she does step out I would love to see Sienna wear this amazing Erdem Pre-Fall 2015 long sleeve feather lace applique blue and white cocktail dress. Sienna loves to represent designers from her home country of England on the red carpet and I think that this would look absolutely amazing on her. Finish the look with a red lip, simple up-do and a pair of black sandals so that the dress is the big statement of the night and Sienna will have an amazing red carpet ensemble on her hands.
Last but not least I have a wish for Best Actress nominee Tilda Swinton, who is nominated thanks to her film "Only Lovers Left Alive." I was going to wish for Tilda to wear the opening look from the Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture collection but the day after I planned that Juliette Binoche snatched it up for her Berlin Film Festival photocall. So I went with my second choice. Also from the same collection I think that this emerald green Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture silk long sleeve bias cut cocktail dress is a more feminine look than what I was originally going for but this look is still typical Swinton. The dress features star embellishments mimicking a necklace and two hands "clasping the necklace" decorate the back. I could see Tilda pairing this dress with the amazing Schiaparelli sandals that the dress was paired with on the runway, a bright pink lip and her hair styled in her signature pouf to ensure that this is an amazing Swinton sighting on the red carpet.
