Runway Report: Tadashi Shoji Spring/Summer 2016 RTW

 Tadashi Shoji is one that you can always count on for a collection of absolutely glamorous gowns. I fell in love with this Japanese garden inspired Spring/Summer 2016 RTW collection. The main floral focus of the collection was wisteria. The floral vine was draped over the entrance to the runway, embroidered as a motif on many of the looks that were presented, and used as a color inspiration for other. My problem with this collection really came down to the fact that many of the looks seemed like they had not been fit to the model that was wearing them. I detest when it doesn't look like 100% precision is executed when presenting a collection on the NYFW stage and that did not happen over at Tadashi. I am sure that we will see many of these looks on the red carpet with festival season upon us and awards season just around the corner.

2015 Academy Awards: Lupita, Octavia, Scarlett & Viola Wish List

Last year Lupita Nyong'o rocked the Academy Awards red carpet in a pretty Nairobi blue custom Prada gown before receiving her first Academy Award. I am excited to see what the stunning actress will bring to the red carpet on Sunday night. I am going to make the safe bet that Lupita will wear another custom Prada or Miu Miu gown for the Oscars on Sunday, but I am going to pray to the red carpet fashion gods that she wears this emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture beaded chiffon evening gown.. This soft gown would be perfection for Lupita to wear for the Academy Awards as a presenter. Finish this look with an emerald Edie Parker clutch, gold sandals and a bold red lip and Lupita will rock the hell out of the Oscars red carpet.

If anyone is a sure bet in who they are going to show up at the Academy Awards wearing it is definitely Octavia Spencer. The Academy Award winning actress has been loyal to Tadashi Shoji since she first stepped out on the red carpet scene, so seeing her wear any other designer would be very shocking. I was delighted to see that when Tadashi showcased his Fall 2015 RTW collection in New York City last week that there were a bevy of Academy Awards worthy gown in the mix. I would love to see this amazing navy blue tulle ball gown with a cream underlay and black embroidery. I think that this would look fantastic on Octavia who just keeps producing win after win for Tadashi. I would however modify this gown slightly and have the cream underlay changed to be navy, maybe something with a hint of sparkle. A black clutch, navy sandals, diamond earrings, a simple diamond bracelet and a red lip would put the perfect finishing touches on this red carpet look.

Scarlett Johansson will make her major red carpet debut at the Academy Awards on Sunday night since giving birth last year. I am really excited to see what the stunning blonde bombshell will wear on the red carpet. We don't get to see much of what comes down the runways during the Dolce & Gabbana Alta-Moda shows but from what I did see the collection was absolutely amazing. I would love to see ScarJo wear this strapless Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015 Alta-Moda red tulle mermaid gown. This is a dramatic gown that need a dramatic backdrop and what more dramatic than the Academy Awards red carpet, except for maybe the Met Ball. This corseted gown would show off Scarlett's enviable drop dead gorgeous post baby body. I would finish this look with old Hollywood waves, a red lip and a pair of simple gold pumps would made this the perfect red carpet look for Scarlett to show off that post-baby bod.

Thus far into awards season I have been blown away by Viola Davis. The "How to Get Away With Murder" star had fallen out of my red carpet graces with bland look after bland look. That was shut down when she stepped out in a red va va voom Donna Karan Atelier mermaid gown at the Golden Globe Awards. I am hoping that she keeps up her stunning run when she steps out on the Academy Awards red carpet to make her way to her presenter duties on Sunday night. I would love to see Viola wear this goldenrod yellow one shoulder Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015 RTW flowing Grecian draped gown. I think that this gown is simple enough for a presenter but wow enough for the Academy Awards. Finish this look off with a gold clutch, gold sandals, simple earrings and a glossy lip to ensure that Viola is red carpet ready.

2014 Rome Film Festival: "Black & White" Premiere Wish List

The always loyal to her favorite red carpet designer Octavia Spencer will take to the red carpet next month at the Rome Film Festival to premiere her film "Black & White," which saw its first premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival last month. Like I said at the start of the post Octavia is very loyal to the man who made her into a red carpet icon, Tadashi Shoji. For almost every single major appearance since she was thrust into the world spotlight when she won her academy award Octavia has worn one of Tadashi's designs. I do believe that she will do the same yet again for the Rome Film Festival. For Spring 2015 Tadashi Shoji looked at the dressings and stylings of Venice, Italy which made for a collection filled with swirling laces and flowing skirts. I picked this stone blue embroidered tulle tee and sunburst pleated floor length skirt. I would have Tadashi line the top and tuck it into the skirt defining the smallest part of Octavia's waist to give her this stunning silhouette. I would also make sure that the look was modified to have a train grand enough for a Rome Film Festival red carpet. Finish the look with a silver Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals, a chic up-do, and a pair of simple yet statement diamond cluster earrings and Octavia will shut down the Rome Film Festival with her stunning red carpet ensemble.

2014 Deauville American Film Festival: "Get On Up" Premiere Wish List

While "Get On Up" has been playing in the United States for just over a month now the film will premiere at the Deauville American Film Festival on Friday evening. Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer joined the rest of her cast a few times at some casual premieres and junkets for the film. I am hoping that she will glam up with her go to designer Tadashi Shoji for the films Deauville American Film Festival premiere. Last Thursday Tadashi showed the Tadashi Shoji Spring 2015 RTW collection at the tent at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City. I would pick this nude lace and silk chiffon cap sleeve slowing gown for Octavia to wear for this red carpet. This is a simple yet elegant style that would work perfectly for this film festival premiere. Finish the look with a gold clutch and a pair of gold sandals to give Octavia a perfect red carpet moment.

Academy Award nominee Viola Davis has been pretty much exclusively wearing Escada on the red carpet this year, and unlike the Octavia/Tadashi exclusive paring the looks are just okay not stellar. I would love to finally see her join the cast at the Deauville American Film Festival wearing this stunning blue tone on tone Vivienne Westwood Resort 2015 taffeta gown that features the houses signature structured draping. I know many are sick of these style of gowns but when a new and interesting style comes along I immediately want to see it on the red carpet. I would finish this look with a dark blue Edie Parker clutch, black sandals, and some simple diamonds accessorize this look perfectly for the red carpet. A chic curly bob and a red lip would complete this elegant classic red carpet ensemble.

2014 Toronto International Film Festival Wish List Part 1

 "The Judge" will be the first major Gala during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. Quickly moving up the glamour scale (which goes from Tribeca to Cannes) TIFF is becoming a celebrity hot spot. I am not even going to be able to cover all of the stars that will be taking to the red carpets in Toronto during this festival, but I will do my best to cover a lot of them. Leighton Meester stars alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Billy Bob Thornton in "The Judge" and I am really hoping that the actress, who has had a killer red carpet year, will walk the red carpet for the films TIFF Premiere. If she does so I would love to see Leighton wear this black to purple Elie Saab Fall 2014 RTW floating chiffon gown which features a sporty racer neck, a sexy thigh split, and an open back. I would keep this look sleekly styled with a black Rauwolf gem clutch, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals, and a pair of simple diamond earrings so that this looks just exudes contemporary sexy elegance. A sleek hair style and a smokey eye would be the perfect final touches to ensure that Leighton lands on the Best Dressed list.

 Vera Farmiga has had an up and down year so far on the red carpet and I hope that she pulls something amazing out when she takes to the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival alongside Leighton Meester, Billy Bob Thornton, and Robert Downey Jr. to premiere "The Judge." Vera usually wears a lot of black, only very recently breaking out into a few bold blues and reds on the red carpet. So I would not be surprised if Vera opts to wear black yet again while at TIFF. I would love to see that actress go for something sweet but edgy like this black Lanvin Resort 2015 jumpsuit which features a lace long sleeve blouse and silk tapered pants and a bow at the waist line. I think that this is something different for Vera and that she would look stunning wearing this ensemble. A black clutch and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps would be the perfect accessories for this look rounding it all out with a red lip would be the perfect way to bring it during TIFF

 Also premiering on the opening day of TIFF is "The Humbling." When the film premiered this weekend at the Venice Film Festival none of the lovely female stars took the journey to the Italian city for the red carpet. I am praying that this is not going to be the case come Toronto. As it is a daytime premiere but still for a film festival I picked this electric blue Bibhu Mohapatra Resort 2015 blouse and skirt ensemble for star Greta Gerwig to wear for the premiere of the film. This is a look that translates very well from day to evening which is perfect for this films TIFF premiere. I would pair this look with a blue Edie Parker clutch and a pair of black sandals to ensure that none of the look is competing with each other. Greta should style her hair in a sleek top knot and throw on a red lip color to ensure that she has the perfect red carpet ensemble.

 Kyra Sedgwick was not at the Venice Film Festival premiere of "The Humbling" either and I am hoping that she does make the trip to Toronto as she used to be a favorite to see on the red carpet. I would pick this black J. Mendel Resort 2015 top and pants ensemble that features silver brocade cap sleeves and a purple waistband. Some might say that this look is too young for Kyra but I think that she would look stunning, sleek, and modern wearing this J. Mendel ensemble. I would just add a light pink lip and a pair of black pumps to finish off this ensemble for Kyra.

 Gong Li exclusively wore Roberto Cavalli while she was at the Cannes Film Festival promoting her film "Coming Home," which will get its big TIFF premiere on Friday. I am hoping that Gong reaches out to other brands for this film festival. As much as I love Roberto Cavalli, I really think that Gong has the potential to wow me and I would love to see her rock so many different brands. For the TIFF premiere of "Coming Home" I would love to see Gong wear this midnight to sky blue Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ombre gown. I think that this is an elegant gown which isn't too much for the TIFF red carpet but glamorous enough to ensure that Gong stands out amongst all the various red carpets during the course of the festival. A pair of silver sandals and some simple Chopard diamonds will ensure that Gong is perfectly styled for her big premiere.

And last but not least for today I have a wish for Octavia Spencer to wear for the premiere of her film "Black & White" on September 6th. For the most part, with very little variation, Octavia remains loyal to Tadashi Shoji the man that dressed her through her Academy Award campaign, which she ultimately won. I do not suspect that Octavia will opt for any other designer for this major film festival premiere. I just don't know what she will pick to wear. I have my bets that she and Tadashi are working on something custom based upon the designers Spring 2015 RTW collection that will be presented soon during New York Fashion Week. And well since I cant foresee the future I dove into the Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 RTW collection and found this stunning teal lace cocktail dress that I think would look stunning on Octavia. She doesn't wear many bright colors so I think that this would be a stunning step out of her comfort zone. I think that Octavia would have the look slightly modified to that there was a slight cap sleeve to cover her arms, but other than that I think that this would make for a perfect TIFF premiere ensemble.

"How To Train Your Dragon 2" London Premiere Wish List

America Ferrera has been consistently giving really pretty looks while on the road promoting her latest film "How To Train Your Dragon 2" and Sunday there will be a gala screening of the film in London. I would love to see America wear this black and nude bugle beaded striped Tadashi Shoji Resort 2015 boat neck gown for this premiere. Its elegant and perfect for a gala premiere. A black and gold sparkling clutch and a pair of black satin peep toe pumps would finish this look perfectly for this big premiere for America in London.

I don't know if it's because its an animated film or what but I have not been getting that all hail the queen when it comes to the looks that Cate Blanchett has been donning while promoting "How To Train Your Dragon 2." I am hoping that at the London screening Sunday night that we see Cate bring the wow. This cream Altuzarra Resort 2014 high neck gown with fringe details and cap sleeves would put her back on top, even though she did not falter to far from the top even her disappointing looks were best dressed worthy. I think that this is a fashion meets classic meets sailor look that only someone like Queen Cate Blanchett could pull off. A gold Edie Parker confetti clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and a red lip would finish this look off in a perfect way for this premiere.

2014 LA Film Festival: 'Snowpiercer' Gala Premiere Wish List

Tonight at the Regal Cinemas at L.A. Live the LA Film Festival will kick off with a gala premiere of 'Snowpiercer.' The promo tour for this film kick started almost a year ago with a premiere in its home country of South Korea. Since then the cast has been doing the song and dance across Europe presenting the film at the Deauville American Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival. I have seen this film and I must say that it is an interesting satirical take on society. To premiere this film tonight I would love to see Tilda Swinton wear this brown Valentino Spring 2014 Couture billowing cape gown. There are not many stars that I would recommend wearing such a shapeless dress but I think that Tilda is one of the few who could rock this ensemble off the runway. A pair of gold cluster earrings and the runway's pointed toe pumps are all that I would add to complete this look perfectly for a Film Festival opening.

Octavia Spencer is also in this film and I am hoping that she will make it to the premiere as she hasn't been on the promo trail thus far. Octavia has been very loyal to the man who made her a red carpet star, Tadashi Shoji. There have been very few occasions where Octavia has not worn one of Tadashi's designs. I would love to see Octavia wear this pool blue Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 RTW lace sleeveless cocktail dress for the 'Snowpiercer' premiere tonight. I think that this would be an elegant and fun look that would go up in total contrast to whatever Tilda will wear, as I am sure she will be in full high fashion glory. A pair of royal blue pumps and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would put the right finishing touches to the is perfect look for Octavia.

2014 Academy Awards: Performers Wish List

This years Academy Awards are going to be packed with musical guests. Over the past month since the nominations were announced, and one Best Original Song nominee was disqualified, a host of talented men and women have been slated to perform live on Sunday night. All of the Best Original Song nominees will be performing their nominated songs. First up is 'Let it Go' from Disney's 'Frozen.' Broadway powerhouse Idina Menzel voiced the character, Queen Elsa, for the film and will be on hand Sunday night to perform 'Let it Go,' which is my personal pick to win the Oscar. For this event I have chosen two looks from my red carpet go to designer Elie Saab. For the red carpet I am wishing that Idina will give this jade green Elie Saab Spring 2014 RTW halter neck gown with a crisscross open back the moment that it so deserves. Idina has never worn Elie Saab before and what better platform that the Academy Awards to start a blossoming relationship with the King of the Red Carpet. Finish this look with a gold Jimmy Choo 'Cosma' clutch, a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo 'Rocks' strappy sandals, and a stunning pair of statement Cathy Waterman fire opal arabesque earrings to give Idina the red carpet statement that she deserves. For her performance of 'Let it Go' I want to give Idina her very first couture moment via this white Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture beaded and caped gown. If you have seen 'Frozen' then you might get why I picked this gown because as soon as I saw it I immediately thought of this couture creation as it is very similar to the gown that Elsa wears in the film. Performing the ballad in this number with a pair of simple silver Jimmy Choo 'Anouk' pointed toe pumps and a pair of diamond and sapphire drop earrings and Idina will kill her performance both via wardrobe and vocals.

I have never heard of Karen O before she was nominated for Best Original Song for 'The Moon Song' from the film 'Her.' I don't know what to expect from the performer when it comes to Sundays Academy Awards but by golly miss molly if I ain't gonna give her a go anyway. It seems that Karen mainly sticks to black and white on the red carpet and I think that this bateau neck Tony Ward Spring 2014 Couture gown with black detail and 3/4 length sleeves would be perfect for her to wear on the red carpet at the Academy Awards. A simple black clutch, black sandals, some simple earrings, and a bold red lip will finish off this stunning red carpet moment. To perform 'The Moon Song' I can picture Karen keeping the black sandals, simple diamond earrings, and bold red lip from her red carpet ensemble and just changing into this black Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 RTW sleeveless gown with an embroidered bodice and chiffon skirt. I figure that Karen will most likely stand center stage in front of a microphone to perform this song letting lighting and camera angles make the performance interesting so this gown would be perfect.

Not nominated but slated to perform Sunday night at the Academy Awards is Pink. I freaking love this woman who dances to the beat of her own drum and doesn't give a flying fuck in space what anyone else thinks about her. There are one of two duties off the top of my head that Pink could be doing during the 2014 Academy Awards, one is performing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' during the Academy's salute to the 75th Anniversary of the release of 'The Wizard of Oz' or performing a song during the In Memoriam section. Either way before she takes to the stage Pink must take to the red carpet. On the same day that Pink was announced as a performer Versace showed their Fall 2014 RTW collection in Milan and I knew the moment that I saw this cream gown with a Grecian draped neckline, slashed detailed gown with gold embellished straps that this would be my wish for Pink to wear on the red carpet at the Oscars. This gown is everything that Pink is edgy and glamorous. I think that just a pair of gold sandals and simple jewels will finish off this look. Keeping with the same soft theme that I picked for the red carpet I think that this Reem Acra Fall 2014 RTW gown with a gold beaded illusion bodice and white chiffon skirt will make for a dope performance ensemble for either of the situations that I mentioned, tho if Pink decides to do her aerial act then I think a midnight blue Atelier Versace Fall 2012 Couture bodysuit would work as well.

Bette Midler, U2, and Pharrell Williams are all also poised to perform on Hollywood's biggest night, The Academy Awards, Sunday March 2nd starting at 8PM EST on ABC.

2014 Independent Spirit Awards: Melonie Diaz & Octavia Spencer Wish List

 Melonie Diaz made her red carpet debut in May of last year at the 'Fruitvale Station' premiere during the Cannes Film Festival wearing a blue Emilio Pucci gown. Melonie has earned herself a nomination for Best Supporting Female for the film and I am hoping that she returns to Pucci for her dress for this event. This magenta and blue Emilio Pucci Pre-Fall 2014 cocktail long sleeved cocktail dress would be a perfect option for Melonie to choose for the much more laid back awards show. Finishing the look with a pair of gold sandals, I would remove the runway belt and just let the pattern to all of the talking for this awards shows red carpet.

Not nominated but sure to attend to support her nominated co-stars is Octavia Spencer who is a member of the cast of 'Fruitvale Station.' Octavia has recently stepped out of her little fashion box wearing other brands besides her go to Tadashi. I am sure thought that the two will rekindle their red carpet love affair for this awards show on March 1st. I would love to see Octavia rock the red carpet in this white Tadashi Shoji Fall 2014 RTW light chiffon dress with lace details. I think that this would look light and heavenly on Octavia. Pair this dress with a pair of red heels and a silver clutch to add a pop of color and sparkle to the look and Octavia will be Spirit Awards ready.

2014 NAACP Image Awards Red Carpet Wish List

In 17 days, February 22nd, a host of stars will take to the red carpet at the 2014 NAACP Image Awards. Halle Berry is nominated for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for 'The Call.' I will say that I saw this film and I sat on the edge of my seat the entire time. When it comes to red carpet Halle Berry has a tried and true formula: black and tight. This long sleeve Azzaro Spring 2014 RTW gown is absolutely perfect for Halle for this event. Its sexy and sophisticated which is what Halle almost always goes for on the red carpet. A pair of black Saint Laurent sandals will finish this simple tried and true look for Halle for this red carpet.

At the Golden Globes last month Kerry Washington worked the red carpet in a white custom Balenciaga gown, which left me begging for more for the 'Scandal' stars maternity wear. Then came the SAG Awards and her now infamous hideous pink Prada crop top and navy skirt. I just could not get behind this look. I think that for this red carpet this gold Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2014 wrap dress would be perfect for Kerry to redeem herself. A pair of gold Christian Louboutin pointed toe 'Pigale' pumps and a gold clutch will finish off this perfect look for a pregnant Kerry.

The woman that I am most looking forward to seeing take to the red carpet during the 2014 NAACP Awards is Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture nominee Lupita Nyong'o. Lupita has been constantly hitting it out of the fashion ball park red carpet after red carpet this awards season, and I am sure that she will work this red carpet. Since I have discovered the Alexander Spring 2014 RTW commercial pieces I am praying to see Lupita wear one of them. This strapless Alexander McQueen Spring 2014 RTW tribal print chiffon gown would look absolutely stunning on Lupita. This gown was inspired by all of the embellished editorial pieces that took to the Alexander McQueen runway that will stay forever in the pages of magazines. A pair of black sandals, a gold Alexander McQueen clutch, and a bold red lip will make this look just absolutely perfect for Lupita.

The NAACP has been the only awards show to specifically honor Octavia Spencer for her work in 'Fruitvale Station' with a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Movie. I am almost 100% positive that Octavia will take to her go to red carpet brand Tadashi Shoji for this red carpet. This navy tulle skirt Tadashi Shoji Spring 2014 RTW gown with a white lace bodice overlaid and a blue belt would look absolutely stunning on the Academy Award winning actress. A navy blue clutch, a pair of black satin pumps, and some very simple diamonds will make this look absolutely perfect for the NAACP Image Awards red carpet.

2014 BAFTA Awards: Oprah Winfrey & Sandra Bullock Wish List

Oprah Winfrey killed it on the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards in a stunning Badgley Mischka purple long sleeved gown. I am hoping that Oprah's amazing red carpet run continues at the BAFTA Awards on February 16th. I am hoping for a big night for fashion as the past couple of weeks have been snooze fest on the red carpet. Oprah would look stunning in this navy blue Tadashi Shoji Spring 2014 RTW gown with a portrait neckline and a fly away skirt. I love that Tadashi is one of the few brands that design looks for curvy women for the red carpet and they usually look extremely stunning, I.E. Octavia Spencer. This gown would look absolutely stunning on Oprah giving her a big look for a big night in London. Her own stunning diamonds in her ears and around her neck as well as a pair of navy Salvatore Ferragamo satin peep toe pumps will give Oprah the perfect finishing touches to her look for the BAFTA Awards.

Sandra Bullock has been on and off with what I have liked when it comes to her red carpet pickings this Awards Season. I am hoping that for her very first BAFTA Awards next month that Sandy will bring Hollywood to the London red carpet via this black and white Naeem Khan Spring 2014 RTW strapless embellished gown. I think that Sandra will look absolutely stunning in this classic silhouette and the embellishments will just add to the glamour. One point of contention with most of Sandy's looks this season for me has been her hair and make up. I would like to see Sandy do a sleek hair style with this gown so that she will not compete with all the embellishments in this gown. A black Edie Parker clutch, a pair of black sandals, simple jewels in her ears, and a red lip will make this look perfect for the BAFTA Awards.

2014 AFI Awards Wist List Part 1

'American Hustle' and 'Her' are two films that Amy Adams has stared in that are being honored with the title of an AFI Movie of the Year Award. This award is handed out to members of the cast and crew in a private luncheon in LA on January 10th 2014. Amy Adams should wear this black, white, and gold Andrew Gn Spring 2014 RTW shift dress for the event. Some attend this event in more casual cocktail attire. While others wear more formal casual/business attire. This is a kind of mix of the two style of clothing it could work in a boardroom or a dinner date which is perfect for Amy for this event. Finish the look with a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo pointed toe pumps and Amy will have the perfect look for this event. 

Carey Mulligan will attend the AFI Awards luncheon to represent her film 'Inside Llewyn Davis.' Having a knack for all things neutral I think that this white Elie Saab Spring 2014 RTW cap sleeved dress that features lace panels on the bodice. This is a pretty dress that would look elegant on Carey and is event appropriate. Where Carey usually goes wrong is during the styling portion of the red carpet process, usually picking shoes or clutches that are way to heave for the light dresses that she picks. I would style this dress with a pair of white Saint Laurent 'Janis' pumps, her hair slicked back, and a bright pink lip to ensure that Carey is on the top of her game for the 2014 AFI Awards.

Christian Dior spokesmodel and Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence will most likely be on hand at the AFI Awards to represent her film 'American Hustle' alongside co-star Amy Adams. While I am praying to see JLaw not wear Dior for absolutely every event between now and the Vanity Fair Party following the Academy Awards, but I think that this Christian Dior Spring 2014 RTW pink, black, and green long sleeved dress. This is a perfect look for Jennifer because it is the perfect mix of sporty and feminine which is a balance that Jennifer needs with her athletic style figure. '12 Years a Slave' actress Lupita Nyong'o will attend the 2014 AFI Awards representing the film which has certainly put her on the map. Having an amazing sense of style and a knack for getting the biggest brands in the world to lend her clothing I am excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet come awards season 2014. For this event I really want to see this amazing purple Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 RTW floral embellished sheath dress. This dress is a true piece of artwork and I am praying that someone like Lupita will pick it up so that it will be given the justice that it deserves. I would just add a pair of black to silver ombre Jimmy Choo 'Anouck' pointed toe pumps and a red lip to make this a perfect look for Lupita for the 2014 AFI Awards.

'Fruitville Station' star Octavia Spencer is always a delight to see on the red carpet, even if we always know the answer to the question "who are you wearing?" The stunning actress has always worn Tadashi Shoji during her red carpet outings because the brand was the only one that was good to her in the months leading up to her Academy Award win for her role in 'The Help.' For this event I would love to see Octavia wear this amazing pastel Tadashi Shoji Spring 2014 RTW cocktail dress. This dress is elegant and flirty for the perfect red carpet moment for this event. A simple pair of gold pumps would be all that I would add to finish this look of for Octavia for this event.

2013 Academy Awards: Guests Wish List

The looming possibility of seeing Berenice Bejo redeem her Oscars red carpet misstep last year at this years awards show has me extremely excited. The French actress is married to last years Best Director winner Michel Hazanavicius who will be on hand tonight as a presenter. I think that this stunning brown embellished Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown would be perfect for Berenice who really came into her own on the red carpet as the Mistress of Ceremonies at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival and I would love to see a dramatic return to the American red carpet in this gown. Finish with a bronze clutch, bronze sandals, and some simple Chopard diamonds and Berenice will do exactly what I am hoping she will.

Jennifer Garner has been along for the ride with her husband Ben Affleck, who was surprisingly snubbed for a Best Director nomination, all awards season. She is definitely on her way to winning Best Plus One due to her amazing efforts this year so far. For tonight's awards show I think that selecting this navy blue Zac Posen Spring 2013 RTW gown would be the best choice for the actress who is attending as a supporter but also as a presenter for the event. A silver and black patterned Leiber clutch, black sandals, and a pair of statement earrings would make this look sing simple and elegant ensemble.

Norah Jones has a song nominated for Best Original Song and she is going to be on hand tonight to perform the song. For the red carpet I think that this black velvet Tadashi Shoji Fall 2013 RTW gown with a loose top. I think that this 30's inspired gown would look stunning on Norah. A small pair of gold earrings, a drop pendant gold necklace, a pair of black pumps, and Norah's signature hairstyle keep this look simple yet dramatic.

Scarlett Johanson is a performer of a song that is nominated and while she has not been announced as a performer I do not see why she wouldn't be on hand tonight. As a face of Dolce & Gabbana I am actually getting tired of her wearing the standard lace gowns that they seem to push out without a thought. For the red carpet of this event I would love to see ScarJo wear this stunning beaded gold strapless Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture gown. A few years ago Scarlett wore a gold Elie Saab gown for an awards show but I thin that this gown would just shine like no other. Finish the look with a gold metallic clutch, gold sandals, and some amazing diamond jewels will make this a look that I will fall out of my chair over.

Stacy Keibler will be playing the arm candy roll yet again tonight I am sure as the plus one of George Clooney. George is nominated as one of the producers of 'Argo' which is the film that is the favorite to take home the Best Picture award tonight. I think that as a plus one this raspberry beaded Elie Saab Spring 2013 RTW gown would be the most amazing option for Stacy to pick. Since she has started working with Brad Goreski as her stylist she has has quite a few stunning red carpet moments and I am hoping to see another tonight. Finish this look with a pair of silver sandals and stunning statement earrings and a cuff bracelet and Stacy will sparkle like no other.

2013 Academy Awards: Meyrl, Octavia, and Zoe Wish List

As the winner of the 2012 Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her role as Margret Thatcher in 'The Iron Lady,' Meryl Streep will be on hand at the 2013 Academy Awards as a presenter. The last time Meryl wore Elie Saab was a deep purple gown for the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors and it was a match made in fashion heaven and I would love to see the two pair together yet again. I think that this blue Elie Saab long sleeved embellished gown would be an absolutely amazing option for the 63 year old star. Pair this gown with a silver leather Salvatore Ferragamo clutch, silver satin Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe pumps, and some diamond and sapphire Bulgari jewels to finish off this winning look for the Oscar winning actress.

Octavia Spencer was the recipient of the Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role award last year and like Meryl Streep will be on hand this year as a presenter. Octavia has been loyal to the designer that she has exclusively worn since the start of the 2012 awards season. And as they say 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it,' and that is certainly the case with Octavia. For the 2013 Academy Awards I would love to see Octavia wear this amazing cornflower blue Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 RTW gown. This gown has an amazing neckline and gives Octavia all her necessary covering and still looks glamorously chic all at the same time. Finish this look with a silver Swarovski clutch and silver satin Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and she will be front and center on the best dressed lists.

Zoe Saldana disapointed me as the host of the 2013 Academy Scientific & Technical Awards wearing a white Alexander McQueen cocktail dress. This dissapointed me because in the past years the hosts have worn Elie Saab and Atelier Versace couture gowns for the event so when I saw the basic cocktail dress I was dissapointed. The hosts of the Sci/Tech Awards always attend the Academy Awards and bring highlights from the Sci/Tech Awards. Zoe needs to wow me at the Oscars as the last time she attended in 2010 wowing me in a stunning ombre effect Givenchy Couture gown. For this years awards show I would love to see her take a fashion risk and wear this pink Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture ball gown paired with matching cigarette pants. Not many people could pull this avant garde look and Zoe is one of the few who can. This look calls for simple silver leather peep toe pumps, simple Tiffany & Co. jewelry, and a very simple beauty routine to let the dress do all the talking.

2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards Wish List: Best Actress in A TV Drama

In Hollywood in the days leading up to the Golden Globe Awards the Prabal Gurung Pre- Fall 2013  collection had several red carpet outings. For the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards I would love to see Claire Danes wow me like she did at the Globes in her red Atelier Versace gown a mere month after giving birth to her son. I think that she would do just that in this stunning sleek white and black gown from the Prabal Pre- Fall collection. Finish the look with an aqua clutch, black sandals, and dazzling diamond jewelry. 

After wowing me at the Emmy Awards in a daring Giambattista Valli couture floral print ball gown, Julinana Margulies really disappointed me at the Golden Globe Awards in a too edgy Armani Prive Fall 2012 Couture gown. I am going to be extremely if this gown gets sent to the depths of the Armani Prive archives as the show for the Spring 2013 Couture collection is Tuesday. Finish this with a silver Jimmy Choo tube clutch, silver Jimmy Choo sandals, and a pair of diamond chandelier earrings and she will rock the red carpet and make me swoon.

Jessica Lange is one woman who definitely knows how to dress her age and I think that this emerald green Tadashi Shoji Fall 2012 RTW gown would be perfect for the 'American Horror Story' star who is nominated for her work in the series. I although would make sure that the dress is not too low cut. Finish the look with gold accessories and I could not be made a happier man.

Michelle Dockery gave me my first wow moment for her at the Golden Globe Awards wearing a white and gold custom Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown and I am hoping she keeps her fashion ball rolling for the SAG Awards. The Actress who is nominated for her work in 'Downton Abby' has a relationship with designer Ralph Lauren so I decided to put her in this 1920's inspired Ralph Lauren Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this gown would look stunning on Michelle who definitely should stick to these period inspired looks because she always looks so amazing in them. Finish this look with a black and red beaded clutch, black sandals, and simple jewelry.

2013 Golden Globe Awards Wish List: Best Supporting Actress in a TV Show

Here we have the final round of nominees, these lovely ladies are nominated for their roles as Best Supporting Actress in a TV Show for their respective programs. Archie Panjabi has never held a Golden Globe nomination for her work on 'The Good Wife' despite taking home the Emmy back in 2010 and maintaining a nomination in this category at the Emmy's every year since the show took off. The British Indian beauty loves to wear either very light colored and ethereal or bold and structured gowns on the red carpet. For the 2013 Golden Globe Awards I have chosen to put Archie in this stunning grape purple Angel Sanchez Resort 2013 gown. This simple aline skirt with a structured peplum bodice detailed with shimmering laser cutouts would look divine on Mrs Panjabi. Finish this look with a silver mirrored box clutch, matching purple peep toe pumps, a dazzling pair of diamond earrings complimented by and updo and she is set to wow amongst some of the red carpet worlds heaviest hitters.

Hayden Panettiere is not one of my favorites to see grace the red carpet. More often than not she wears looks that wash her out or are just to bulky for her small frame. I have chosen to put the actress nominated for her work in the hit series 'Nashville' in this gold Zuhair Murad Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this gown would be lovely on Hayden as it would just make her glow unlike the blush pink dresses she tends to favor that do her no favors. Pair this dress with a gold and turquoise Marchesa clutch, Jimmy Choo 'Belle' sandals with turquoise stones and gold fringe, as well as some gold and turquoise drop earrings and I think we have a winning look.

Sarah Paulson is nominated in this category for her role in the HBO TV movie 'Game Change.' The actress stunned wearing an dusty blue Reem Acra ball gown for the 2012 Emmy Awards. For this years Golden Globe Awards I am hoping to see Sarah Wear this Tadashi Shoji Spring 2013 RTW gown. I have been in love with this gown and it has the potential to make it into an Academy Awards wish list if it doesn't get worn before then. I think Sarah would do this dress justice and that is saying a lot because she is the exact opposite of who I plan to wish for this dress for the Oscars. Pair this with a gold metallic clutch and some gold strappy sandals and she is set to stun.

And last but not least for the nominees we have Colombian beauty Sofia Vergara who is once again nominated for her work in 'Modern Family.' I have missed seeing Miss Vergara wear the designs of Carolina Herrera on the red carpet. If she is one of the few that Carolina will lend clothing to why hasn't she worn her beautiful gown in so long. Well I am wishing to change that by hoping to see her wear this dot printed Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 gown. I think that Sofia is one of the few who has the presence to pull this gown off. Simple diamond jewelry and silver peep toe pumps are all that is needed to finish this look as the dress speaks on its own enough without loads of styling.
