2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards: Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series Wish List

To all my loyal followers I am so sorry that I haven't posted in the past two days but I had fallen behind and had a busy schedule with school and watching all of the fabulous awards shows. But I am back today with another wish list for Sunday nights Screen Actors Guild Awards. I just don't understand Edie Falco (NOT Parker IDK why I made that typo) on the red carpet she either looks way to frumpy or like she is trying way to hard. I am hoping Sunday night the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for 'Nurse Jackie' will redeem herself after her horrible Lanvin misstep at the Golden Globes. I think that this navy blue Monique Lhuillier Resort 2014 embellished sheath dress would look absolutely stunning on Edie. This is the type of sporty glam that Edie needs to wear on the red carpet. Complete the look with a pair of black sandals and very minimal jewelry and Edie will have a red carpet worthy moment.
Now unlike Edie, Julia Louis-Dreyfus had me swooning in her tangerine Narciso Rodriguez gown last Sunday at the Golden Globes. Julia really took her role as double nominee that night, in both Television for 'Veep' and Film for 'Enough Said.' While she may only be nominated this coming Sunday night at the Screen Actors Guild awards for 'Veep' I am hoping and praying that her stunning red carpet run will not come to a screeching halt. I think that this fuchsia Azzaro Spring 2014 RTW gown with an embellished halter is a perfect choice for Julia. Julia really loves to show off her curves and for a woman of 53 she has a damn good body, so I can totally understand why she wants to show it off and this Azzaro gown would totally allow her to do that. Finish the look with a diamond bracelet, a pair of Jimmy Choo silver sandals, and her hair worn up to showcase that stunning neckline and Julia will have the perfect winning look for the night.
Julia Bowen went un-nomminated at the Golden Globes but did present, at the Screen Actors Guild Awards the 'Modern Family' star has received a nomination for her work on the show. This buttery ivory colored Naeem Khan Spring 2014 RTW gown with loads of halter neck and waist embellishments is one of my favorite looks from this collection and I am still praying that we see this gown take to the red carpet and I think that on Julie for the SAG Awards that this gown it the perfect choice. While she is not expected to win Julie is still most likely to really bring it to the red carpet. I love when she really goes for it because the product is almost always a true winner. I would style this dress with a silver Judith Leiber crystal encrusted clutch, a pair of silver Jimmy Choo sandals, and a simple diamond bracelet, and stud diamond earrings with her hair worn up in a sleek up to to ensure that she shines bright on Sunday night.
Last but not least for today we have funny girl Tina Fey who is nominated for the last time for her work in the hit NBC series '30 Rock' which came to an end last year. During the Golden Globe Awards Tina wore a trifecta of Carolina Herrera gowns ranging in different berry tones and I will say she gave me some of my favorite looks from her EVER that night. I am hoping that this Sunday she will do the same the Screen Actors Guild Awards. I have come to love Tina in blue and also love the paring of Tina and one of my favorite designers Oscar de la Renta and I think that this Tiffany blue Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 RTW strapless tiered gown would be a perfect choice to Tina to make for the SAG Awards. It is a simple gown, perfect for the more laid back vibe of the SAG's, but it will still make an impact on Tina. Finish this look with a sleek updo, a diamond necklace, a silver clutch, and a pair of silver pumps and I will love this ensemble on Tina.

2014 Golden Globe Awards: Everyone Else Wish List Part 1

Idina Menzel was the voice of Elsa in the Best Animated Feature nominee 'Frozen' and was the powerhouse voice behind the Best Original Song nominee 'Let it Go' from the same film. I am hoping that despite her high profile divorce from hubby Taye Diggs, Idina will take to the red carpet Sunday night at the Golden Globes looking fantastic. I think that this raspberry Carolina Herrera Spring 2014 RTW gown will be the perfect look for Idina to wear for this event. When picking a gown for a major red carpet moment Idina more often than not turns to Carolina Herrera and it really can be hit or miss and I think that this gown would be a hit. I would slightly modify this dress so that there is only one of the two featured patches, I would most likely take the one on the hip off so that there is more feature drawing up to Idina's stunning jaw line. Finish the look with a gold minaudiere, a pair of gold satin pumps, and very simple jewelry will make sure that Idina looks FANTASTIC on this red carpet.
Now while Idina is only the vocals and not actually nominated for the song she performed in Taylor Swift is nominated for Best Original Song for her number 'Sweeter Than Fiction' from the film 'One Chance.' Last year I was not a fan of Taylor's grown up and what I felt was dated Donna Karan Atelier gown at last years ceremony, so I am hoping that she will really bring it this year. The way to do that is by going into her absolutely most favoritest red carpet designer Elie Saab's archive. I think that this strapless Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture embellished gown is absolutely perfect for Tay. Taylor absolutely loves her embellished gowns and this is how she should do grown up and embellished on the red carpet. Finish the look with soft curls, a smoky eye, a neutral lip, a simple gold Elie Saab clutch, and a pair of simple gold Jimmy Choo sandals and Taylor will redeem herself on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday night.
'Modern Family' star Julie Bowen will be taking to the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards as one of the presenters on Sunday night. Last year we really saw Julie go big or go home at the 2013 Emmy Awards wearing a soft pink Zac Posen gown which featured lots of bold ruffles. As she is just a presenter at this event I think we will see a more toned down Julie and this champagne Marchesa Pre-Fall 2014 gown with gold embellishments is an absolutely amazing option for Julie to wear for this awards show. This really is the perfect look for a presenter especially one who is from TV. Finish the look with a gold minaudiere, a pair of champagne satin peep toe pumps, and a simple pair of drop earrings and Julie will be perfectly dressed as a presenter.
Mila Kunis will also be presenting at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. Mila has 3 movies that will be premiering this year so I am sure that she will be out to start getting the buzz up for her first film 'The Angriest Man in Brooklyn.' I think that this amazing blood orange J. Mendel Spring 2014 RTW gown with a deep-v and slight mermaid cut would look absolutely amazing on the red carpet in this gown. It would hug all of her curves and really just make her look all the parts the major Hollywood actress that she is. Finish this look, much like the others, with a gold minaudiere, a pair of gold Jimmy Choo sandals, and some absolutely amazing yellow gold and emerald earrings and cocktail ring and Mila will have an absolutely amazing red carpet moment.
Now I might just get a little slack for picking such a gown for a presenter but I think that since Reese Witherspoon is an Academy Award and Golden Globe winning actress she can do just about whatever she wants. This sapphire blue Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture strapless embellished gown would look absolutely stunning on Reese who I always love in these cool jewel-tone colors. Finish the look with some stunning diamond and sapphire earrings, a matching blue satin clutch, and silver sandals and Reese will own this red carpet.
And finally for today we have a wish for stunning Hollywood legend Uma Thurman to wear for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. The stunning 43 year old actress made it into my Top 5 looks of 2014 and I am hoping that her stunning run continues into awards season 2014. This aqua blue Nina Ricci Pre-Fall 2014 gown with a ruffled neckline was just presented yesterday and in the hectic dash to find the perfect look for Uma it was my saving grace. I hope that Uma can get her hands on this gown and pairs it with a pair of silver Jimmy Choo flat sandals and a stunning Chopard diamond cuff to ensure that she will look as regal as possible on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet.

Just a reminder that tonight starting at 9pm I will be live-tweeting (@FutureStylist93) the 2014 Peoples Choice Awards, tomorrow night at 8pm I will be live tweeting the Critics Choice Movie Awards, and of course Sunday night I will be live tweeting the 2014 Golden Globe Awards starting with the red carpet pre-show at 4pm and then the actual telecast at 8pm. I hope that each and every one of you will tweet along with me and get a good conversation going.

2013 Emmy Awards: Oustanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Wish List

This is the first time I have featured Anna Chlumsky on If I Was A Stylist and she earned a spot by having been on the red carpet in the past and garnering herself a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her HBO Series 'VEEP.' I am going into this pick blind basically as she has never really had any major red carpet spots. For the 2013 Emmy Awards I think that this simple red Pamella Roland Fall 2013 RTW gown would be the perfect choice. It's a simple dress that would look at place on any awards show red carpet. Keep the look simple with a black clutch and black pumps like I am sure that she will do and Anna will have a very pretty look for the 2013 Emmy Awards red carpet.
Jane Lynch is a hysterical actress but has a very boxy build that a lot of the time she tries to over compensate on the red carpet with very girly gowns which just do not suit her. For the 2013 Emmy Awards, 'Glee's' Sue Sylvester, nominated for the role for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, should grab up this dove-y lavender Rami Al Ali Fall 2013 Couture gown. Jane has snatched up a few gowns by the designer in the past and usually had a good result. I think that this gown is the perfect mix of Jane's laid back style and a glamorous gown. Keep the look simple by just adding a pair of silver satin pumps and maybe a matching clutch but that is is to keep this look as simple as possible as Jane looks her best when she keeps things simple.
'Modern Family' star Julie Bowen is one of my favorite television stars to see on the red carpet because she really tries to keep up with the hard hitting Hollywood stars. For the 2013 Emmy Awards where she is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her hit television comedy I would love to see her wear this Andrew Gn Resort 2014 ballgown. I think that this gown with its green and yellow bustier and black skirt is perfect for the event and for Julie. Finish the look with a yellow clutch, a pair of black sandals, and some stunning diamond jewelry and Julie will have an absolutely amazing red carpet ensemble for the 2013 Emmy Awards.

2012 Emmy Awards: 'Modern Family' Cast Wish List

Last years winner of Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy and a nominee this year Julie Bowen always takes a fabulous approach to red carpet dressing. Last year Julie wore a custom Oscar de la Renta sequined gown. I think that this year this amazing ethereal white Marchesa Resort 2013 column gown with a tufted peplum and gold waist embroidery. The silhouette of this gown is similar to the Oscar gown she wore last year but while last year her gown was dark and edgy this is light and airy. Add a gold Marchesa clutch, gold peep toe Jimmy Choo pumps, a gold detailed cuff, and gold drop earrings to finish off the look once more.
Sarah Hyland is a red carpet star who has a very cute youthful sense of style. I think that this bright orange Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 RTW gown with a peak bustier and a gold metal waist band. Sarah would look so beautiful in this gown with her skin coloring. I would pair this elegant gown with a metallic clutch and some metallic sandals to complete the look that would no doubt put her on international best dressed lists.
Last up on this list is one of my red carpet favorites because the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy nominee Sofia Vergara always brings a sexy Latin flare to the red carpet in a hand full of her go to brands. For the Emmy awards I would love to see Sofia wear a Vera Wang Spring 2013 Bridal gown in this stunning deep red with jet crystal embellishments on her hips. The silhouette of the gown is one that the curvaceous actress loves and for the right reasons because it flatters her body to no end. Pair this with just a pair of matching peep toe pumps and some amazing Lorraine Schwartz black diamond jewelry to complete the look

2012 SAG Awards Best Comedic TV Actress Wish List

Edie Falco is staring to really find her feet on the red carpet, and I am glad to see that. Edie used to show up in clothing that was unflattering and ill-fitting, and recently, all that is changed. One of the designers that I have seen Edie wear, that I really love, is Romona Kevesa. Which is why I have picked this navy gown from the Spring 2012 RTW collection. I think that the silhouette and neckline would look amazing on Edie. A silver crystal clutch, silver strappy sandals, and a large diamond cuff would be perfect for this look.
There are two sides of Julie Bowen. There is the girly princess side and the smoldering temptress side. For the 2012 SAG Awards, I would like for Julie to bring out her inner smoldering temptress (especially after the very literal princess moment at the Golden Globes) by donning this black to silver ombre one shouldered Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2012 gown. I think that this gown would look amazing on Julie, and with a pair of great chandilier earrings and a diamond cuff, as well as a black crystal clutch and silver strappy sandals.
Now Sofia always gives us sex kitten and I am really hoping to see her wear this red, black and white Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 RTW column gown. I think that this gown is the perfect mix of sexy and glamour for Sofia to rock out on the 2012 SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday. A red crystal encrusted clutch and some red pumps would be perfect for this look to make it sexy and sultry but still demure all at the same time
Last, but not least, I have this wish for Tina Fey. I will honestly say that when Tina stepped out for the 2012 Golden Globe Awards in a wine colored Oscar de la Renta frothy mermaid gown, I was shocked. I would like to give her props for stepping out of her comfort zone and wearing it. My only critique was that I did feel it made her look a tad on the short side, so I have made this wish which is also Oscar de la Renta from his Pre-Fall 2012 collection, but I think this will not make the petite actress look even shorter than she already is. I would love for her to wear this coral colored gown, as it is simple and totally in Tina's style, just in a lot bolder of a color than she usually chooses. I am excited as at last years SAG's ,Tina shocked the world by wearing a red gown, so I am wondering if she has already made her colorful gown quota for the year or is she gonna shock us all again.

Best Dressed at the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards

Just as a heads up this list (except for the first picture) is in no particular order of how I liked the look of that celebrity and this is only the best dressed, I am not posting because I have an idea to use the worst dressed looks later on.

This is PERFECTION. Here is The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev wearing a red Donna Karan Resort 2012 mermaid gown. She looked absolutely stunning and 100% drop dead diva gorgeous. Nina has not always been someone that I look forward to seeing on the red carpet because she usually looks extremely tacky, so when I saw this my jaw dropped. This is my best dressed of the night.

Shall we go into the runners up (in no particular order)?:
Sofia Vergara looked absolutely stunning in her Vera Wang gown. The gown is in Sofia's favorite mermaid silhouette and she is totally working her sex symbol status. She paired her look with some statement jewelry featuring Colombian emerald from her native country, Colombia.
Sarah Hyland is wearing the youthful version of her Modern Family co-stars (Sofia Vergara) gown, but hers is designed by Project Runway alum Christian Siriano. The color is amazing on Sarah and she looks sophisticated and elegant whilst still looking youthful.
Olivia Munn becomes the first celebrity to wear a look from the Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 RTW collection. This does not come as much of a surprise as Olivia has been wearing a lot of Carolina's designs lately and was sitting front row at the designers runway show where this gown was presented last week. The color looks amazing on her and her hair is not horrible like it usually is. I am also glad that she kept her accessories simple.
Kerry Washington brought the va-va-va-voom to the 2011 Primetime Emmy Awards last night, wearing a red (the color of the night) strapless gown from the Zuhair Murad Fall 2011 Couture collection. This gown is sexy and bodacious yet still classy. I wondered who was going to be brave enough to wear this, and the even better question would she look like a whore? Well the answer to the brave is obviously Kerry and to the does she look like a whore question? No she does not look like a whore but confident and sexy.
Kristen Wiig looked absolutely fantastic in this ombre brown Zac Posen gown that was custom designed for her. Again this is a great color on her and I also that her for picking extremely complimentary accessories.
Lea Michele looked absolutely fantastic in this custom Marchesa gown. Now with that said I have to throw a flag for foul play on Marchesa. Why? Because this gown is a mix of Pippa Middleton's Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress and a Valentino Pre-Fall 2011 cocktail dress the Hailee Steinfeld wore earlier this year. Now with that said Lea still rocked it as she would have in anything and no animosity is felt for her not wearing my wish for her.
Kelly Osbourne looked amazing in her custom J. Mendel gown. Kelly whist watching the E! Live From The Red Carpet said that Marchesa would not send her any options because they were only dressing one celebrity last night (well that was found out to be not true as you will see below). Well honey all you should have to say to them is, Marchesa who? Because you look absolutely stunning wearing this gown. The color totally 100% looks great on you and your accessories are amazing.
Kate Winslet won Best Actress in a TV Movie or Mini-Series for her role in Mildred Peirce, and she looked amazing wearing the color of the night (red) her gown was designed by Elie Saab for his first ever Resort 2012 collection. The silhouette looked amazing on her and I am glad she did not opt for the runway belt. A gold clutch and simple diamonds completed her winning look.
Julie Bowen was also a winner last night and looked amazing in her Oscar de la Renta gown. This is the first time the actress has worn an A-list designer and she looked radiant and had an air of confidence that she knew how good she looked. Congrats to her for knocking it out of the ballpark last night.
Now this deserves the most improved award because this is the FIRST time EVER that Jenna Ushkowitz has ever made it on to one of my best dressed lists. Now this gown could have gone VERY wrong making it look like she has box figure but Jenna worked this gown to death which is a good thing. She pulled her hair back into a slick pony tail and amazing makeup completed her look with a clutch and simple drop earrings.
Gwyneth Paltrow looked amazing wearing an extremely daring midriff baring Emilio Pucci gown. Gwyneth who won an Emmy for her guest appearances on the hit FOX show Glee and was a presenter last night looked the point of Hollywood starlet and I find no faults in her look.
Evan Rachel Wood resorted to her go to color roots for this Emmy gown. It is from the Elie Saab Fall 2011 RTW collection and she looked the best she has in a while. I love the gown, hair, and makeup and it looked freaking fantastic.
Emily Blunt who attended the awards ceremony to support her husband The Office star John Karasinksi. Usually when she is at an event supporting John she dresses simply, not last night she went for a show stopping Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown and I am so glad that she did and I love it.
Here was the second Marchesa gown of the night, now I am posting this because she looks amazing even though she is wearing her go to nude color that she favors all to often but she still looks elegant.
I had no idea who Cobie Smulders was before I saw her in this aqua blue Alberta Ferretti gown on the red carpet. I am in love with this whole look as she looks so ethereal and luminous. This proves that when you pair the right person with the right gown, that fashion magic can be made.
I love this look again because it is ethereal but she took the look down a few notched with the vamp makeup. On any hand Aubrey Plaza looked fantastic in her white Juan Carlos Obando Fall 2011 RTW gown last night. I have no idea who she is, but I hope to see more from her in the future.
Now this is a stunning gown is stunning and looks AMAZING on Claire Danes. The Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 gown is amazing with a blue sequined geometric pattern. Claire just made this look effortless as she seems to do with anything that she puts on and I am so excited by this look and she really challenged Nina for the best dressed spot so she is best dressed first runner up, if for whatever reason Nina Dobrev can not fulfill her duties Claire will take the responsibilities over.

Now I want to hear from you:

Emmy Awards Wish List: Julie Bowen (Modern Family)

Julie Bowen always hits the TV star go to designers for go to glamour such as Tadashi Shoji, Georges Hobeika, J Mendel, and of course Reem Acra. She always looks so stunning when she hits the red carpet. I have chosen this mint green tierd Reem Acra ball gown for her to wear on Sunday night at the Emmy Awards. To complete this look all Julie needs is a silver crystal encrusted Judith Leiber clutch, strappy silver sandals, diamond chandelier earrings, and a diamond cuff bracelet.
