2015 BAFTA Awards: Keira, Margot, Reese, Rosamund, & Shailene Wish List

I am hoping that when Keira Knightley, who was shockingly absent from the Academy Award Nominees Luncheon on Monday, takes to the red carpet on Sunday for the BAFTA Awards that she finally hits a red carpet stride that covers her baby bump in a glamorous way. The moment that I saw this Andrew Gn Pre-Fall 2015 gown. The beading on the top of this gown would give me something interesting to look at in the sack-ish style dress that the Best Supporting Actress nominee is bound to wear. Hair styled in a chic up-do, a soft lip, a gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals are exactly what is needed for this stunning red carpet maternity look for Keira.

I was all excited at the beginning of last year because I thought a had found a new girl crush in Margot Robbie, then she let me down. Hard. I am hoping that the EE Rising Star Award nominee will bring me back to the time where my jaw dropped at the sight of her. This silver crystal embellished Stephane Rolland Spring 2015 Couture top paired with a white skirt with a very dramatic train is the direction that I would love to see Margot rock on the BAFTA Awards red carpet on Sunday. The actresses blonde locks swept into Veronica Lake waves, along with a bold red lip and a pair of silver sandals would ensure that Margot gets back in my good graces and back on Best Dressed lists.

Color. Still the one thing that I am missing from Reese Witherspoon this awards season. I am still holding out hope that she will wear the Antonio Berardi gown that I so desperately wanted to see her wear for the Golden Globe Awards, but I am going to move past wishing for it again. Sticking to the same soft pink palette I picked this Delpozo Spring 2015 RTW (Not Couture) double sided silk twill gown that features a floral embellished bib at the front, a geometric construction around the waist, an exposed tulle underlay and full train at the back. I love that stars are embracing the avant garde Spanish designer for their red carpet dressing. Old Hollywood waves thrown over one shoulder, a pink lip, and nude sandals would ensure that all eyes are on Reese at the BAFTA Awards.

Rosamund Pike has not lived up to the expectations that I had set for her this awards season. I am hoping that on her home turf that the Best Leading Actress nominee with be on point again. When I was flipping through the Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2015 lookbook and I came to this stunning art nouveau lace bodice gown with a pleated tulle skirt, my heart started to flutter. The gown features a semi-sheer bodice with allover Art Nouveau patches, bonded with leather, vinyl, bright and metallic accents, and a floor-length pleated tulle skirt. This gown is elegant and effortless while being extremely fashion forward and avant garde. Rosamund would look lovely in this gown with a sleek bob (a la the Golden Globes), a pink clutch, and a pair of gold sandals would finish off this look perfectly for the BAFTA's red carpet.

Finally we have the final wish for the 2015 BAFTAs. Shailene Woodley is nominated for the EE Rising Star Award and I am slightly interested in what it is that she will wear. With a big promo tour for "Insurgent" coming up, the sequel to the hit "Divergent," I am sure that Shai will be on top form. This Prabal Gururng Pre-Fall 2015 ensemble is exactly what I picture Shailene in for the BAFTA Awards. Consisting of a black floral embroidered strapless gown worn under a black and red embroidered silk crop top this look screams the laid back style that Shailene puts off on the red carpets. Paired with a pair of black sandals and a red lip I think that Shailene would have a best dressed look on her hands at the BAFTA Awards.

Berlin International Film Festival: Carmen, Cate, Elizabeth, & Freida Wish List

The Oscar nominated "Selma" will receive a special screening at the Berlin International Film Festival, which kick-starts next Thursday. I am hoping we see red carpet newbie Carmen Ejogo on the red carpet for the films premiere. With couture presentations starting this week I am in this limbo situation where I want to feature all of my favorite looks from Fall 2014 Couture before Spring 2015 Couture takes over but I am afraid that many of the leftover looks will be lost to the archives. Carmen has been getting progressively better with her red carpet dressing with each red carpet that she has stepped out on. I would love to see her wear this amazing champagne silk tulle Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ball gown. I think that this is a major moment, and since Carmen did not receive an Academy Awards nomination, I think that this the perfect venue to make a major red carpet moment happen. Finish the look with a chic evening bob, a gold clutch, and a pair of gold pumps and I really think that Carmen will have red carpet critics eating out of the palms of her hands.

Queen of the red carpet Cate Blanchett will be premiering two films during the Berlin International Film Festival, "Cinderella" will premiere as an out of competition gala and "Knight of Cups" will premiere in competition. I will be watching the couture shows looking for a second look for Cate, which I will share in a wish list later this week, but one thing I would LOVE to see Cate wear comes courtesy of her go to red carpet brand Armani Prive. When this amazing red sequin cap sleeve sequin Armani Prive Fall 2014 Couture gown walked the runway in Paris back in July of last year it immediately went on reserve for Cate. Not many would be able to not make this look like a plastic mass on the red carpet, but Cate has the presence to be able to make this look as chic as chiffon or all over embellished beading. It is modern in its technique but classic in its style, exactly what makes for the best looks. Finish the look with a vintage inspired updo, a red lip, red pumps, and simple Chopard diamond to finish off another winning look for Cate the Great.

As I said earlier you will be seeing A LOT of the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture collection on this blog over the next few months. Elizabeth Banks's film "Love & Mercy" will be screening at the Berlin Film Festival in the Berlinale Special selection as an out of competition gala. When this film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, Elizabeth wore a stunning Chloe floral printed suit. I am hoping that the modern choices continue through the films Berlin premiere. This electric blue Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture one shoulder gown would make for an electric red carpet moment for Elizabeth. It has been awhile since we have seen Lizzy wear a major Versace gown on the red carpet, so I think that this is the perfect time to bring one to life. This sculptural gown needs a sleek updo, a red lip, a pair of electric blue pumps, and am electric blue Edie Parker clutch would finish this look off for a a best dressed look for Elizabeth to make for the Berlin Film Fest.

Freida Pinto had an amazing red carpet run last year and I am excited to see what 2015 will bring for the Indian beauty. We will most likely see Frieda take to the red carpet when her film "Knight of Cups" has its big in competition gala screening. This film has been rumored to premiere since Cannes in 2013 so I am really excited to finally get this amazing group of women on the red carpet; Freida, Cate and Natalie Portman. While I figure Cate and Natalie will go for solid gowns I would love to see Freida rock a bold pattern like the one featured on this Andrew Gn Pre-Fall 2015 strapless ballgown. With such a bold pattern and bold colors making up that pattern the styling needs to be kept really, really simple. I would finish this look off with a pair of gold pumps, a pink lip, and slicked back hair to ensure that Frieda really stands out on the red carpet, for a good not for worst.

2014 Golden Globe Awards: Hostesses Amy Poehler and Tina Fey Wish List

 The dynamic duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will be back hosting the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night after an amazing triumph at the task last year. During last years Awards Amy wore a selection of looks that came custom made courtesy of Stella McCartney. While she looked fantastic in all of those looks I am hoping to see Amy really shine in different looks during this years ceremony changing designers as she changes looks. For the red carpet I have picked this amazing Caribbean waters blue Georges Hobeika Spring 2014 RTW gown with a sheer and embellished bodice. Amy looks best when she puts the focus oh her upper half and simple on the bottom as that will keep her shape beautifully and lengthen her figure. For the opening of the show I think that this nude Naeem Khan Spring 2014 RTW gown with an embellished bodice with cap sleeves and a simple chiffon skirt. Finish the night with a beautiful electric blue ZAC Zac Posen Spring 2014 RTW gown with a ruched top would be the perfect look for Amy to close the night off in.

Tina Fey has a better red carpet track record than her co-host Amy but then again Tina tends to wear just a lot of black. Like Amy, Tina stuck to one designer for her two looks that she wore during the 2013 Golden Globe Awards. She looked fantastic in both her L'Wren Scott designs but I would love to see Tina branch out into different designers throughout the night. For the red carpet I have chosen to put Tina in this off white Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 RTW strapless gown. This gown would hug all of Tina's curves as well as make her look taller than she actually is. Next I am going into a more comfortable region for Tina with this black Andrew Gn Spring 2014 RTW gown with gold embellished birds and a sheer hem to add visual interest to this look. And to close out the selection I have picked this beige Alice + Olivia Spring 2014 RTW lace ball gown that features black leather straps to give Tina an impact to finish the night in.

2014 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy Wish List

Edie Falco has brought herself another nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy thanks to her Showtime original series 'Nurse Jackie.' I can honestly say that I have never liked a look that Edie Falco has worn on  the red carpet despite the fact that I know that she has huge potential to wow me. For the 2014 Golden Globe Awards next Sunday I am hoping to see Edie wear this fantastic white and black Prabal Gurung Resort 2014 gown. This is a very sporty yet flowy gown for the star which is what she should she should wear with her athletic type body. Finish the look with a bold red clutch, a pair of Christian Louboutin black satin peep toe pumps and Edie will have a red carpet ready look perfect for the Golden Globe Awards.

While she has never taken home a trophy Zooey Deschanel has always stunned me on the Golden Globes red carpet. Next Sunday Zooey is nominated for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy for her hit show on FOX 'New Girl.' It has been a few years since we have seen Zooey wear an Andrew Gn design, the last was at the 2011 Critics Choice Television Awards were she wore a short white number with black tights, and I am hoping that she will rediscover this designer with this amazing Andrew Gn Spring 2014 RTW black, white, and gold structural one shouldered ball gown. This gown has to be one of my favorite looks from all of the spring 2014 RTW collection, and who better to do it justice that quirky Zooey who brings this 60's type glamour to any red carpet that she walks. I would just finish this look with a pair of black simple sandals and some vintage jewels in her ears (something very small) and on her wrist.

2014 AFI Awards Wist List Part 1

'American Hustle' and 'Her' are two films that Amy Adams has stared in that are being honored with the title of an AFI Movie of the Year Award. This award is handed out to members of the cast and crew in a private luncheon in LA on January 10th 2014. Amy Adams should wear this black, white, and gold Andrew Gn Spring 2014 RTW shift dress for the event. Some attend this event in more casual cocktail attire. While others wear more formal casual/business attire. This is a kind of mix of the two style of clothing it could work in a boardroom or a dinner date which is perfect for Amy for this event. Finish the look with a pair of black and gold Jimmy Choo pointed toe pumps and Amy will have the perfect look for this event. 

Carey Mulligan will attend the AFI Awards luncheon to represent her film 'Inside Llewyn Davis.' Having a knack for all things neutral I think that this white Elie Saab Spring 2014 RTW cap sleeved dress that features lace panels on the bodice. This is a pretty dress that would look elegant on Carey and is event appropriate. Where Carey usually goes wrong is during the styling portion of the red carpet process, usually picking shoes or clutches that are way to heave for the light dresses that she picks. I would style this dress with a pair of white Saint Laurent 'Janis' pumps, her hair slicked back, and a bright pink lip to ensure that Carey is on the top of her game for the 2014 AFI Awards.

Christian Dior spokesmodel and Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence will most likely be on hand at the AFI Awards to represent her film 'American Hustle' alongside co-star Amy Adams. While I am praying to see JLaw not wear Dior for absolutely every event between now and the Vanity Fair Party following the Academy Awards, but I think that this Christian Dior Spring 2014 RTW pink, black, and green long sleeved dress. This is a perfect look for Jennifer because it is the perfect mix of sporty and feminine which is a balance that Jennifer needs with her athletic style figure. A pair of green Jimmy Choo 'Anouck pointed toe pumps, a black Lady Dior clutch, and a bright pink lip will give Jennifer a look that I adore.

'12 Years a Slave' actress Lupita Nyong'o will attend the 2014 AFI Awards representing the film which has certainly put her on the map. Having an amazing sense of style and a knack for getting the biggest brands in the world to lend her clothing I am excited to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet come awards season 2014. For this event I really want to see this amazing purple Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 RTW floral embellished sheath dress. This dress is a true piece of artwork and I am praying that someone like Lupita will pick it up so that it will be given the justice that it deserves. I would just add a pair of black to silver ombre Jimmy Choo 'Anouck' pointed toe pumps and a red lip to make this a perfect look for Lupita for the 2014 AFI Awards.

'Fruitville Station' star Octavia Spencer is always a delight to see on the red carpet, even if we always know the answer to the question "who are you wearing?" The stunning actress has always worn Tadashi Shoji during her red carpet outings because the brand was the only one that was good to her in the months leading up to her Academy Award win for her role in 'The Help.' For this event I would love to see Octavia wear this amazing pastel Tadashi Shoji Spring 2014 RTW cocktail dress. This dress is elegant and flirty for the perfect red carpet moment for this event. A simple pair of gold pumps would be all that I would add to finish this look of for Octavia for this event.

2014 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Wish List

Amy Adams is a member of the cast of 'American Hustle' which will be reciveing the Ensemble Cast Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala which will kick off awards season on January 4th 2014. The Palm Springs Awards Gala really kicks off the major awards this year but it is different than most because the honorees are announced in the 2 months prior to the event. With a cocktail attire or fancier dress code this is one of the more dressed down events where most ladies don shorter ensembles and have fun. I would love to see one of my favorite Hollywood red heads wear this amazing gold lame Altuzzara Spring 2014 RTW cocktail dress which features a side slit and a plunging neck. There is just something about this look that just makes me think of Amy and I am not quite sure what it is because it is not in her normal realm of style. Finish the look with a gold clutch and a pair of simple gold sandals and Amy will walk the carpet like she owns it.

Camila Alves will be on her husbands, Matthew McConaughey, arm as he receives his Desert Palm Achievement Award for his work in 'Dallas Buyers Club.' Camila has always stood next to Matt as he takes to the red carpet looking nothing short of a stunning trophy wife, though I am sure that she is much more than that. For this event I am going to wish that she wears this black Andrew Gn Resort 2014 knee length dress that features gold coral pattern embroidery and three quarter length sleeves. She really knows how to work a red carpet and I think that this would be the perfect look for her to wear for this event. Just add a simple pair of pointed toe Christian Louboutin black pumps and a red lip and Camila is ready to take the carpet by storm.

Jennifer Lawrence will also help pick up the Ensemble Cast Award for 'American Hustle' with co-star Amy Adams at the 2014 Palm Springs Film Festival. I am clawing to figure out what JLaw will wear for these red carpets because there isn't a whole lot of anything left from the Fall 2013 Couture or Spring 2014 RTW collections from Christian Dior, where she is the face of the brand, so I am re-posting a wish I made for her to wear for the LA Premiere of 'Catching Fire.' While I was highly impressed with her sheer grey Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture gown on that red carpet I would still like to see Mrs Lawrence take to the red carpet in this tea length gown. Finish the look with a black clutch, a pair of black Saint Laurent 'Jane' sandals, and some simple Chopard diamonds will complete this look for this occasion.

Julia Roberts will be taking home the Spotlight Award at the 2014 Palm Spring Film Festival Awards Gala. The star known for her love of black an her menswear inspired layering should wear a modified version of this long sleeved Altuzzara Resort 2014 dress. I would close this dress up on the one side so there is no skin showing on her leg and remove the leather band around the breasts. Add a statement necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels and a pair of black and gold Saint Laurent 'Janis' metal-trim cap toe platform pump will complete this look for Julia and give her a look that I would actually enjoy seeing her in.

The performance that Lupita Nyong'o gave in '12 Years a Slave' is giving her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2014 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. So far since she stepped out on the scene in September Lupita has been able to snag looks from some of the worlds most coveted designers from brand new collections to custom creations to couture. For this awards show I would love to see the stunning Kenyan actress wear this copper colored Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2014 gown which is reminiscent of stuff out of the 1930's. A a bronze and brown Kotur art deco clutch as well as a pair of bronze Jimmy Choo sandals and simple earrings complete this look which is perfect for an emerging red carpet talent such as Lupita.

Last but certainly not least we have a wish for Desert Palm Achievement Award recipient for her work in 'Gravity' Sandra Bullock. There are two Sandra's that take to the red carpet. One is almost always on the best dressed lists and one is almost always blah. I am hoping that best dressed Sandy is out on the red carpet on January 4th for the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. If she were to don this green, blue, and goldenrod Aquilano.Rimondi Spring 2014 RTW dress then I be believe that Sandy would look absolutely stunning on the red carpet. A simple satin black Prada box clutch, a pair of mustard yellow Charlotte Olympia pointed toe platform pumps, and some simple Bulgari jewelery will make for the perfect look for Sandy for the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala on Jan 4th.

2013 Gotham Independent Film Awards: Carey Mulligan & Cate Blanchett Wish List

The road to the 2014 Academy Awards started back in October with the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards and will continue with the 2013 Gotham Independent Film Awards on December 2nd. Carey Mulligan is not nominated for any awards but her film 'Inside Llewyn Davis' is nominated for Best Picture. As she isn't nominated I think that this white Elie Saab Spring 2014 RTW cocktail dress with 3/4 length sleeves and sheer panels is perfect. I have been really conflicted on Carey's style and I am hoping that I will love what she wears and if she wears this Elie Saab dress with a pair of silver sandals or pumps and simple jewels, and shock with a bold lip and I will fall off my seat in love with Carey on the Gotham Independent Film Awards red carpet.

As the first round of nominations come out I am already planning what I want to see Cate Blanchett to wear to the 2014 Academy Awards but we have a long way to go until we get there. For the 2013 Gotham Independent Film Awards Cate is nominated for Best Actress for her film 'Blue Jasmine,' which I am still dying to see. For this red carpet I am hoping to see the Queen of the Red Carpet wear this Andrew Gn Spring 2014 RTW one shoulder geometric black white and gold cocktail dress. I think that this dress would just stun on Cate as it is a classic silhouette but is still extremely modern and edgy. Finish the look with a gold clutch, a pair of black and gold peep toe pumps, and Cate will show why I call her the Queen.

2013 Golden Horse Awards Wish List

Many readers will know that I love an Asian red carpet, mostly because we are more likely to see extravagant avant garde looks than we are on other red carpets around the world. On Saturday the 23rd some of the biggest names in Chinese film will gather for the 2013 Golden Horse Awards. Nominated for Best Leading Actress at this years awards ceremony Guey Lun Mei should go big or go home in this Andrew Gn Resort 2014 ball gown. This sophisticated yet still modern look, consisting of a black ball skirt and lime and yellow strapless bustier, would make for an amazing red carpet moment. Finish the look with a black Roger Vivier crystal buckle clutch and a pair of black pumps and I think that Guey would shine on her big night.

Sammi Cheng stepped out during the 2013 Cannes Film Festival wearing a glittering nude Talbot Runhof long sleeved creation, but to her disadvantage Heidi Klum had worn it weeks earlier. Also nominated for Best Leading Actress, Sammi can redeem herself with the brand by donning this Talbot Runhof Fall 2013 RTW blue and silver sequined gown with one caped sleeve. This gown is edgy yet glamorous which seems like it would fit very well with Sammi's style. A simple black satin clutch and a pair of simple black satin peep toe pumps to keep all the focus on the dress.

Shu Qi is known on the asian red carpets as one who usually brings a very girly regal glamour to the red carpet but there have been a few steps out of that style for her this year and as she is nominated for Best Leading Actress at the 2013 Golden Horse Awards I am hoping to see a big bold look from her. Shu Qi is one of the few ladies that will grace this red carpet that has the ability to be loaned a couture creation and I think that this black Valentino Spring 2013 Couture lace ball gown would be a perfect choice for Shu to wear on the red carpet. This is a very sexy villainess look where as she usually would pick a sweet princess gown. Finish the look with her hair swept back and up, as not to take away from all the shoulder and neckline detail of the dress, and a simple pair of black pumps and she will have a look that would make her look like a sexy temptress.

Now the princess, or well should I say queen, moment will most likely come from my Queen of Cannes Zhang Ziyi at this years 2013 Golden Horse Awards. The stunning Chinese actress always thrills me when she takes to the red carpet because she has such a range of looks. I am praying to see Zhang wear one of the stunning gowns from the Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture collection at this awards show. This dove grey ball gown would look just like a second most glamorous skin on her. Simple diamond jewelry and a pair of silver sandals as well as a simple up do will ensure that Zhang will make it on the best dressed lists.

2013 Emmy Awards: E! Live From The Red Carpet Team Wish List

At any of the major red carpets, be it the Golden Globe, SAG, Grammy, Academy, or Emmy Awards, the E! Live from the Red Carpet team usually dons two looks one for the Countdown to the Red Carpet and one for the actual red carpet. Guliana Rancic is the lead lady on the red carpet with Ryan Seacrest during the actual red carpet and is front and center with her 'Fashion Police' co-stars Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos during the pre-show. During the pre-show we get to see more of what Guliana is wearing so I chose to put the skinny Italian beauty in this Zuhair Murad Resort 2014 flowing chiffon gown. I think that this dress is absolutely amazing and I think that it would be the perfect look for the pre-show. For the red carpet where you usually just see G from about the bust line up I think that this red Andrew Gn Resort 2014 strapless gown with an elegant embellished bust would be perfect yet simple as to not totally steal the show from the celebrities that she is interviewing. As Guliana only has like 3 minuites to completely change I think that pairing both dresses with a pair of gold Jimmy Choo embellished sandals and a few select yellow gold and diamond jewels and she will have her perfect looks for the 2013 Emmy Awards.

Guliana's 'Fashion Police' co-star Kelly Osbourne will also be seen at the 2013 Emmy Awards during the live E! coverage with the pre-show and the live red carpet. For the pre-show I think that this amazing grey Pamella Roland Fall 2013 RTW one shoulder mermaid gown would be perfect for the purple haired star. While I am not a supporter of her massive purple growth that she sports growing out of her head but I do not see it changing any time soon. And for the live red carpet event where we will most likely see Kelly sitting on a balcony over looking the red carpet commenting on the red carpet looks of all of the celebrities I would love to see her wear this watercolor purple Dennis Basso Resort 2014 ballgown. This dress would look really pretty puffed out while she is sitting in her directors chair. Again, like Guliana, she doesn't have that much time to change so I am going to recomend that Kelly wear a pair of silver Giuseppe Zanotti sandals and some simple diamond accessories in her ears and wrist and Kelly will have her winning looks for the event.
