#Oscars 2016: Presenter Wish List Part 1

Charlize Theron is one of Sunday nights confirmed presenters. I am very excited to see what the statuesque beauty will wear on the Oscars red carpet. Charlize will for sure be in Dior, like Jennifer Lawrence Charlize is a face of the brand. Last year Charlize wore some amazing custom Dior Couture looks on the red carpet and I bet that continues Sunday. I would love to see Charlize in some color, like amethyst purple or bright lipstick red, with a very dramatic train as her custom look from Christian Dior. If she were to wear a runway look from the brand (although I think that is very unlikely) I think that this white lace sleeveless gown from the Fall 2014 Couture collection would make for a beautiful red carpet moment. Maybe Charlize would wear this gown for an after party, though the Zac Posen I picked would be just as fabulous.
Emily Bunt recently announced that she is pregnant with her second child with John Krasinski so I am intrigued to see what she will wear on the red carpet at the Academy Awards. I would love to see Emily rocking the red carpet in this blue Armani Prive Spring 2014 Couture fully embellished gown on the red carpet. I think that this gown would drape so elegantly over Emily's burgeoning baby bump. I don't believe that Emily has a very large bump so this gown would wither conceal it or showcase it, if she were to add a waistband. I personally think that adding a waistband would make for a great red carpet moment on Emily. Keeping the styling really chic with a classic updo, smokey eye, silver clutch, a pair of silver sandals, and diamond cluster earrings would ensure that Emily showcases amazing maternity style on the Oscars red carpet.
I am super excited that Kerry Washington is boycotting the Oscars Boycott because of #OscarsSoWhite and presenting at the show on Sunday night. Kerry is always one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet as she has some of the most amazing red carpet style and an arsenal of designer friends that make amazing clothes for her. When I watched the Prabal Gurung Fall 2016 RTW show and this ivory cold shoulder embellished gown came down the runway I gasped and said that needs to be on the Oscars red carpet. Prabal has not had a moment on the Oscars red carpet yet and I think that he and Kerry need to change that by working this gown to its full potential on the red carpet. I think that this gown is something that while minimal can be very high impact. I think that a gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, chic updo, and a nude lip would finish this look perfectly to give Prabal an amazing Oscars red carpet moment.
Margot Robbie has been a rising fashion star since she burst onto the scene when The Wolf of Wall Street came out 2 years ago. Margot has been up and down with her red carpet style and I am hoping she brings high glamour to the red carpet at the Academy Awards on Sunday night. It is always interesting to see who gets to wear some of the coveted collections first on the red carpet and everyone is taking bets on who will get their hands on the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2016 RTW collection first. I would love to see Margot step out on the Oscars red carpet wearing this amazing gold and black Oscar de la Renta Fall 2016 RTW toile du Jouey ribbon jacquard fit and flare gown with a sequined strapless bodice. After back to back Oscars wearing black Saint Laurent gowns I am hoping that Margot delivers something different and I think that this is a glam moment to happen on the Oscars red carpet. A chic updo, red lip, gold clutch, black pumps, and a pair of dazzling diamond earrings would ensure that Margot kills the Oscars red carpet.
I have a feeling that a lot of you are looking at your screens a little lopsided right now looking at my wish for Reese Witherspoon to wear on the red carpet at the Oscars. Last year Reese gave us a modern version of old Hollywood in a black and white custom Tom Ford gown and I am hoping this year that Reese gives us a totally modern look. I loved this bubble gum pink and chocolate brown BOSS Fall 206 RTW dress on the runway and I could totally picture creative director Jason Wu taking this dress and turning it into an a-line gown for Reese on the red carpet. I think that this could be a great high glam modern look for Reese to wear on the red carpet, and a colorful one at that. Reese usually doesn't wear a whole lot of color on the red carpet and I am really hoping that she embraces color for the Oscars red carpet.

2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Queen of the Sidewalk Runway

If you wanna find fun flirty inspiration for your day to day look you have to look no further that this years Queen of the Sidewalk Runway, Reese Witherspoon. Reese ran around Hollywood this year rocking a bevy of ultra chic, feminine ensembles as she shopped, took meetings, and ran to the airport. Reese has always been one to op for ladylike and chic. It really has been a delight seeing Reese on the sidewalk this year and I hope she keeps the street style runway working just as much next year.

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here.

2015 Hollywood Film Awards Wish List Part 2

Amber Heard is among the presenters that will be in attendance at the 2015 Hollywood Film Awards tomorrow night and I have to say that I am quite interested to see what she will wear. After a year or so of looks that I really loathed I am starting to lover Amber's red carpet choices again and tomorrow is the early kick off to the 2016 Awards Season so I am interested in seeing what she is going to wear to kick it all off. I picked this black Blumarine Spring 2016 RTW rose embellished cocktail dress that features a square neck with a bustier-style bodice, jeweled rose details that wrap around the shoulders, and a midi length a-line skirt with a draped panel at one side because I think that Amber loves a vintage inspired moment and this is such a classic dress that there is no way that she can go wrong. It is not really her night and I think that this dress is the perfect balance for a presenter. A pair of black Christian Louboutin sandals and a black Edie Parker clutch are the perfect accessories for this dress. Completed with old Hollywood waves and a red lip and Amber will be sexy as ever for this red carpet appearance.
I am not 100% certain that Jada Pinkett Smith will be on the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet tomorrow night, but since her hubby Will Smith is receiving the Hollywood Actor Award I figure she will. Jada plays the part of the perfect plus one very wall and I am quite interested to see what she will wear to support Will. Jada was front row at the Balmain Spring 2016 RTW presentation and I would love to see Jada wearing this menswear inspired sexy jumpsuit. I love the cutout sweetheart neckline and the sheer lattice panel on this jumpsuit I think it says "I am a boss woman and I am a force to be reckoned with" which is exactly what Jada is. A pair of sexy black strappy sandals, a gold clutch, the runway belt, and a red lip are all that Jada will need to ensure that she is going to kill this red carpet and support her husband in top form.
Channing Tatum is part of the Hollywood Ensemble Award winning cast of Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight and wife Jena Dewan Tatum is almost always right by his side when he steps out on the red carpet and I am sure that she will be there tomorrow night at the Hollywood Film Awards. I picked this black Zuhair Murad long sleeve gown which features sheer detailing on the sequin zebra-like bodice and thigh high slit. This is a chic glamorous and sexy moment which is perfect for Jena as Channing's plus one to this moment. What better way to show support for your husband receiving a Hollywood Film Award than to show up looking like a bombshell. Finish the look with a chic updo, a red lip, a black clutch, and a pair of black strappy sandals to really make this a bombshell red carpet ensemble.
Reese Witherspoon will be attending the Hollywood Film Awards tomorrow night as a presenter and I am excited to see what she will wear for her first big red carpet after this past awards season. I decided to go with a classic look with a twist for this red carpet. I love this 1950's inspired Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2016 RTW cocktail dress with an abstract painterly eggplant brushstroke print which features a full skirt with triple inverted pleats at front and back and decorative buttons at shoulder straps and center back. I think that this dress is a beautiful moment and I am sure that in some capacity we will see it on a red carpet and I think that Reese would look absolutely lovely in this gown. A pair of black strappy sandals, a silver clutch, and 50's inspired beauty would ensure that this is a perfect look for the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet.
"Brooklyn" star Saoirse Ronan is going to be honored tomorrow night at the Hollywood Film Awards with the New Hollywood Awards and I honestly can not wait to see what the edgy Irish-American actress is going to rock on the red carpet. Saoirse has a liking for edgy styles when she dresses for the red carpet with favorite brands like Lanvin, Chanel, and Proenza Schouler it is no mystery why she is one to watch when it comes to red carpet dressing. I would love to see her embrace bold color with this noir/jade J. Mendel Spring 2016 RTW blurred floral embroidered organza gown. I love the color and the draping in this gown and I know it is going to be a major moment on the red carpet when it happens and I believe that on Saoirse that this would jet to the top of best dressed lists everywhere.

Who are you most looking forward to seeing on the Hollywood Film Awards red carpet?

The Top 10 Looks from the Academy Awards

I have to say that when I first read the description of the Chanel Couture gown that Julianne Moore wore to the Academy Awards last night I was very afraid. I was waiting with bated breath for the stunning redhead to show up on the red carpet. When the actress, who won Best Actress last night, showed up I let out a HUGE sigh of relief. This white Chanel Couture gown is covered with 80,000 hand cut flower paillettes and took 27 people over 900 hours to make. Julianne really let the gown speak for itself slicking her hair back adding simple Chopard cluster earrings and a berry lip to finish off a breathtaking award winning look for the Oscar winning actress.
Many will be shocked that I put a black gown so far up my best dressed list. The reason for this is because no one could have worn this custom Maison Marigela Couture gown and made me love this more than the queen of the red carpet Cate Blanchett. While I was predicting that she would show up in Armani Prive this step to the left was just what I love about Cate. The beauty of this look was in the details. The frayed fringes and the stunning turquoise Tiffany & Co. floral bib necklace, which despite whatever Kelly Osbourne says is TOTALLY Oscars worthy, just made this look most stunning. A hall of fame look for Cate for sure. Many will also disagree with me putting Gwyneth Paltrow on this list. I thought that Gwynie rocked her custom Ralph & Russo one sleeved rosette sleek gown. Many did not like the rose and thought it ruined the look, but I honestly would ask them would they have preferred this gown if it was just plain baby pink dress? I don't think so. A pair of statement earrings and slicked back hair finished this look perfectly. I will say the biggest wow and shock of the night was how much I actually LOVED what Rosamund Pike wore on the red carpet. After a series of refinding her red carpet footing and slowly getting better and better Rosamund gave me a perfect look. This custom red Givenchy Couture lace gown that Rosamund paired with simple red sandals, a pair of dainty simple Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, fresh makeup and a swept back bun. There is simply not a single thing about Rosamunds look that I would have changed.
A red head in sapphire. Jessica Chastain knew the way to my heart. I absolutely adore Jessica in her custom Givenchy sapphire gown with just a hint of sparkle and leg. This is what I am talking about. I absolutely love this woman. She has her self one of the best stylists in the world (the same woman who dresses Cate Blanchett) and she knows how to work a red carpet. Another big shock of the night was seeing Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo really go for it wearing her stunning Armani Prive Fall 2014 Couture strapless black and red peplum gown. I don't think I have ever see Behati look so chic, her and hubby Adam Levine of Maroon 5 were definitely my Best Dressed Couple. Taking a risk and adding that black diamond ball necklace and kept the rest of the styling sexy and vampy. She oozed sexy glamour and provided the perfect arm candy. Jennifer Lopez brought feminine sexy glamour to the Oscars red carpet in one of the nights biggest dresses from the Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture collection. I loved that as she decided to go big or go home that Jennifer decided to wear a champagne colored ball gown. I am really excited that this gown finally got worn for a red carpet event and really what better platform for this gown than the Academy Awards?
I had my doubts about what Marion Cotillard was going to wear. I was betting on custom or that she would break the norm and wear one of the tea length gowns from the Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture collection. She instead went to last springs runway selecting this sequined perforated detail white Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture gown that features a beautiful bustle detail in the back. Many were not sure what to make of this as they saw an unflattering view of this from the back as their first impression. I immediately loved this. Who else could have taken this avant garde gown and rocked it with such elegance grace and sophistication? Emma Stone finally broke the colorless spell that she has been stuck in wearing a custom chartreuse green Elie Saab Couture fully beaded gown with a split to there and long sleeves. She really gave me modern old Hollywood with the stunning gown, matching shoes, and vintage glam beauty look. Last but not least is Reese Witherspoon in custom Tom Ford. Everyone had their money on Julianne Moore wearing a custom Tom Ford gown, but the honor went to Reese who more than did the designer justice. This is another look at taking the idea of old Hollywood and making it a modern statement. Everything about this look feels classic but still very very fresh.

Last night was a very well dressed red carpet, of course there were a few disasters and some that really let me down but all in all it was an awesome night on the red carpet. All of the looks from the red carpet are on the blogs Facebook page and I am working on uploading pictures from all of the parties (as pictures are STILL coming in), so make sure that you head over there and check them all out! Who was your best dressed? Worst dressed?

2015 Academy Awards: Best Actress Nominees Wish List

Before I officially delve into the 2015 Academy Awards I would just like to take a moment and acknowledge that this is the 1,000th post on If I Was A Stylist. This comes right off of reaching 100,000 page views just last week! So I just wanna say thank you once again for helping me keep this blog going! And without further ado ladies and gentlemen I bring you the start of the wish lists for the 2015 Academy Awards, which take place in Hollywood on February 22. We have been continuing to fall in love with Felicity Jones all through awards season. From her Dior gowns at the Golden Globes and the BAFTA Awards and her Balenciaga at the SAG Awards, each look has personified glamour, sophistication and elegance. While I figure that a custom Christian Dior gown is in the future for Mrs Jones, as is a contract to be a spokesmodel for the house, I am going to pick a runway look for Felicity to wear for the Oscars. I love this Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture high low ball gown covered in subtle embellishments and embroidery. This gown fits that elegant vintage glamour that Felicity loves to showcase on the red carpet. A pair of gold metallic pumps, vintage Van Cleef & Arpels diamond earrings, a chic up do and a bright yet soft pink lip would finish off this look perfectly for the actress nominated for her film "The Theory of Everything."
Julianne Moore is the one to beat thanks to her performance in "Still Alice." Having stunning in Givenchy Couture at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards and giving sexy its name in Tom Ford at the BAFTA Awards, I am really excited to see what Julianne wears on Oscar night. My main guess will be that her pal Karl Lagerfeld will custom make something from Chanel. I went back to the Chanel Fall 2014 Couture for my runway wish for Julianne. I absolutely love this feather and crystal embellished Chanel Fall 2014 Couture strapless bell shaped gown, but it needs some work to be red carpet read for Julianne to wear for the Oscars. First while I love the bell shape it would not look good on Julianne. Turning this gown into a column gown would make it much more red carpet ready and the feathers on the bodice would need to be trimmed down to accommodate for Julianne's petite frame. If Karl would make these adjustments for Julianne this would be a showstopping moment for the woman most likely to take home the naked gold man. Finish the look with an updo, something that Julianne has not done for a major awards show this season, a red lip, simple cluster earrings and a pair of very simple black sandals would finish off the look perfectly for Julianne.
Marion Cotillard is the surprise nominee at this years Academy Awards. I don't think even she expected the nomination. I say this because she wore the only Oscar worthy gown that was left from Christian Dior for the Critics Choice Movie Awards last month. Last year I started to doubt the partnership of Marion and Dior, but the start of this year has seen Marion back to her best. I think that this re-found confidence, and loads of risks, means that Marion is definitely one to keep our eyes on for Oscar night. After looking at the Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture I was left with two options, either Marion would take a HUGE risk for her Oscar gown or Raf Simons will be custom making something for Marion. I am hoping for the risk. While a blue lace strapless tea length gown with a full skirt is far from a conceptual risk it is a huge risk for the Oscars red carpet where floor length is an unspoken requirement for any of the ladies nominated for their acting (unless your under the age of 18). Finished with a pair of sparkling silver pumps, a red lip and chic vintage inspired hairstyle Marion will have an ensemble that will be the biggest statement at the Academy Awards.
With silver Calvin Klein at the Golden Globe Awards, white Giorgio Armani at the SAG Awards, and then purple Stella McCartney at the BAFTA Awards I still haven't had a WOW moment from Reese Witherspoon on the red carpet this awards season. I am praying that when the "Wild" star steps out for the Academy Awards that she really pulls out all the stops. This salmon pink Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ballgown with oversized crystal embellishments would be a statement for Reese. This gown is soft and classically pretty yet bold enough for a woman nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Reese would HAVE to put her hair up in sleek low bun with this dress, she has been favoring leaving her long locks flowing but I am praying for her to put a little more effort into her hair for the Oscars. A clean barely there makeup palette, simple earrings, and a pair of gold peep toe pumps would just round out this Oscar worthy look for Reese.
The red carpet paved road to the Oscars has been quite rocky for "Gone Girl" star Rosamund Pike. It started off with a white Vera Wang at the Golden Globe Awards which really did nothing for her, followed by an avant garde Christian Dior Couture trapeze dress at the SAG Awards that was okay but again didn't really do anything for her, and then a black Roland Mouret gown at the BAFTA Awards that was perfect in every way but made me lust for her to wear color. I am hoping that Rosamund really gives me something to talk about, in a good way, at the culmination of this journey: the Oscars. I picked this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2015 ink blue cap sleeve sequin mermaid inspired gown with scalloped lace embellishment and a plunging v-neckline. I think that this is a modern way to nod at old Hollywood glamour. The silhouette screams silver screen siren while the textile makes it modern (with the lace adding a bit of vintage love). Barely there inspired makeup, her hair styled in a sleek straight bob, silver sandals, a diamond bracelet and a pair of dazzling diamond earrings will ensure that Rosamund really wow's me on the Oscars red carpet.

2015 Costume Designers Guild Awards Wish List

The 17th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 17, 2015. I am excited for the fact that one of my favorite women, Emmy Rossum, is going to be the hostess of the evening. Emmy always gives me couture realness when she steps out wearing all of the best designers. For the CDG Awards I would love to see Emmy wear this Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2015 strapless ball gown with its bold floral print. Many would send this gown back afraid of the statement making print, but Emmy is never one to stray away from a challenge and I would love to see her take this gown on. Paring this gown with some stunning Chopard drop earrings, a light pink lip, and a pair of red sandals would ensure that Emmy gives Oscar chic at the CDG Awards
Emma Stone has been making the red carpet rounds promoting "Birdman" on its journey to the Academy Awards. With the film being nominated for its costume design at the CDG Awards I am praying that Emma shows up. I would love to see her wear this emerald green Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2015 t-shirt style dress with beaded stripes in differing directions on the top and skirt. I absolutely adore a red head in green and we haven't seen Emma wear green in a while. Finish the look with a green Edie Parker clutch, a pair of gold pumps, and a red lip would make everyone green with envy for Emma's red carpet look.
Felicity Jones is still on the road to being one of my red carpet queens. I love almost every single look the she puts out on the red carpet. For the Costume Designers Guild Awards, I would love to see Felicity wear this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2015 cocktail dress rendered in black corded lace and features a fitted bodice with a full pleated skirt and scalloped edges. I think that this is a sweet dress, which is perfect for the look that Felicity always gives on the red carpet. I would pair this look with a pair of coral Elie Saab sandals, sleek hair, and a coral lip to make sure that Felicity is all about bringing impact to the red carpet at the Costume Designers Guild Awards.
Reese Witherspoon has been on a roller coaster of style this red carpet season. I have either loved or hated her red carpet looks, and most have been very monochromatic. I am praying for Reese to wear some color on the red carpet, and what better event that the Costume Designers Guild Awards to do that? I picked this amazing Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture cocktail dress with a green top and a multicolored striped full skirt for Reese to wear. I think that the silhouette is something that Reese would be naturally drawn to, it is very ladylike. Reese loves herself a ladylike silhouette and this gown gives that AND modernity with the colors and striped skirt. The boldness of the pattern and colors are what I fear would push Reese away from this dress. I would finish this look off simply with a pair of gold pumps and tousled waves to give Reese a perfect red carpet look.
"The Grand Budapest Hotel" is nominated for Best Period Costumes in a Movie and I am hoping for a Swinton sighting at the CDG Awards. Tilda Swinton is a red carpet queen. I love how she can work mannish or feminine silhouettes on the red carpet and always look stunning. One of Tilda's favorite designers, and closest friends, is Hadier Ackermann and it has been a hot minute since we have seen her in one of his designs. I picked this mauve silk suit, with a boxy blazer and tapered pants, and burgundy chiffon top covered in rosettes from the Hadier Ackermann Spring 2015 RTW collection. This look is an amazing balance of menswear inspiration and feminine details to create the perfect red carpet look for Tilda. Her short locks styled in her signature coif and nude pumps would ensure that Tilda slays the red carpet.

2015 BAFTA Awards: Keira, Margot, Reese, Rosamund, & Shailene Wish List

I am hoping that when Keira Knightley, who was shockingly absent from the Academy Award Nominees Luncheon on Monday, takes to the red carpet on Sunday for the BAFTA Awards that she finally hits a red carpet stride that covers her baby bump in a glamorous way. The moment that I saw this Andrew Gn Pre-Fall 2015 gown. The beading on the top of this gown would give me something interesting to look at in the sack-ish style dress that the Best Supporting Actress nominee is bound to wear. Hair styled in a chic up-do, a soft lip, a gold clutch, and a pair of gold sandals are exactly what is needed for this stunning red carpet maternity look for Keira.
I was all excited at the beginning of last year because I thought a had found a new girl crush in Margot Robbie, then she let me down. Hard. I am hoping that the EE Rising Star Award nominee will bring me back to the time where my jaw dropped at the sight of her. This silver crystal embellished Stephane Rolland Spring 2015 Couture top paired with a white skirt with a very dramatic train is the direction that I would love to see Margot rock on the BAFTA Awards red carpet on Sunday. The actresses blonde locks swept into Veronica Lake waves, along with a bold red lip and a pair of silver sandals would ensure that Margot gets back in my good graces and back on Best Dressed lists.
Color. Still the one thing that I am missing from Reese Witherspoon this awards season. I am still holding out hope that she will wear the Antonio Berardi gown that I so desperately wanted to see her wear for the Golden Globe Awards, but I am going to move past wishing for it again. Sticking to the same soft pink palette I picked this Delpozo Spring 2015 RTW (Not Couture) double sided silk twill gown that features a floral embellished bib at the front, a geometric construction around the waist, an exposed tulle underlay and full train at the back. I love that stars are embracing the avant garde Spanish designer for their red carpet dressing. Old Hollywood waves thrown over one shoulder, a pink lip, and nude sandals would ensure that all eyes are on Reese at the BAFTA Awards.
Rosamund Pike has not lived up to the expectations that I had set for her this awards season. I am hoping that on her home turf that the Best Leading Actress nominee with be on point again. When I was flipping through the Christopher Kane Pre-Fall 2015 lookbook and I came to this stunning art nouveau lace bodice gown with a pleated tulle skirt, my heart started to flutter. The gown features a semi-sheer bodice with allover Art Nouveau patches, bonded with leather, vinyl, bright and metallic accents, and a floor-length pleated tulle skirt. This gown is elegant and effortless while being extremely fashion forward and avant garde. Rosamund would look lovely in this gown with a sleek bob (a la the Golden Globes), a pink clutch, and a pair of gold sandals would finish off this look perfectly for the BAFTA's red carpet.
Finally we have the final wish for the 2015 BAFTAs. Shailene Woodley is nominated for the EE Rising Star Award and I am slightly interested in what it is that she will wear. With a big promo tour for "Insurgent" coming up, the sequel to the hit "Divergent," I am sure that Shai will be on top form. This Prabal Gururng Pre-Fall 2015 ensemble is exactly what I picture Shailene in for the BAFTA Awards. Consisting of a black floral embroidered strapless gown worn under a black and red embroidered silk crop top this look screams the laid back style that Shailene puts off on the red carpets. Paired with a pair of black sandals and a red lip I think that Shailene would have a best dressed look on her hands at the BAFTA Awards.

2015 Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon

We are finally in the final stretch for the Academy Awards. The nominees all gathered in LA on Monday at a luncheon to celebrate their nominations. The actress nominees all really brought it to the red carpet arrivals for the luncheon. Felicity Jones wore a forest green Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2015 wax coated cotton dress over a navy and orange sequin embroidered trompe l’oeil sweater underneath and a pair of green pumps. I am getting the vibes that Felicity will be named a face of Dior once awards season is all said and done. Best Actress front runner Julianne Moore broke her red carpet mold and wore a slightly modified red Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2015 cocktail dress. The original dress was presented without the peplum top. I find myself wishing that Julianne had picked the original dress over the peplum. Current face of Christian Dior Marion Cotillard was the lucky, yet unsurprising, lady who had the honor of wearing a look from the recently presented Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture collection. I love how Marion took this unusual dress and made it seem like an instant classic. The vintage inspired hair, the silver Dior clutch, and black Dior pumps just made the dress the star and Marion worked this dress like I thought only the likes of Diane Kruger could. I have been on a roller coaster of style with Reese Witherspoon this awards season. For the Nominees Luncheon we were on a style high. Reese looked fabulous in her Giambattista Valli black and white color blocked flared dress, and the black and white Gianvito Rossi ‘Peggy’ sandals that she wore just made the look that much better. And finally Best Supporting Actress nominee Emma Stone kept up her monochromatic dressing with a Michael Kors Pre-Fall ensemble, that consists of a black and white striped sequined sweater and black and white polka dot chiffon skirt. I am really praying for color from Emma in the coming weeks. She has been rocking the back but I need to see her wear color as she can get away with wearing just about anything.

My favorite of this group has to be Marion! That Dior Couture is just so different and unexpected for the occasion and she really made it work. Who are you most looking forward to seeing on the Academy Awards red carpet?

Best Dressed of January 2015

I have decided to let all of my followers in on my secret to coming up with my Best Dressed of the Year list. What I do to sift through all those amazing looks that take to the red carpet over the year is pick 10 looks each month, also all the event Top 10's, and file them away in a best dressed folder. 2015 has been off to an amazing start and I am only holding out hope for even more amazing looks from here on out. When doing these lists I take out all the looks that I loved from events like the Golden Globe and SAG Awards so that other looks have a fighting chance. Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese gave me my favorite look from January wearing a bold purple Alexis Mabille Spring 2015 Couture one shoulder corseted gown for the Sidiaction Gala in Paris. Dita pulled this gown right off the runway and just oozed glamour as she posed for the photographers. Pairing her look with her signature vintage hair style, red lip, and the runways Alexis Mabille feather clutch.
Up next we have Kate Hudson at the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Presentation wearing a modified Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture cocktail dress. Kate Hudson wears Versace like no other woman EVER. Kate always oozes relaxed sexual glamour when wearing any Versace ensemble and this is the epitome of that ideal. Letting her blonde locks fall naturally and pairing the look with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pointed toe pumps just made this the perfect front row ensemble. Paz Vega took to the red carpet at the Art of Elysium HEAVEN Gala, the night before the Golden Globe Awards, and really wowed me wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2015 RTW cap sleeve gown that features a bold floral and spectrum print on the skirt. I did not think that we would see this gown on the red carpet, so to see it on Paz and her making it look so effortless just fits her on this list in the 3rd position. Last year the only person to give Taylor Swift a run for her money on the sidewalk runway was Reese Witherspoon. Here we see Reese running errands wearing a Carolina Herrera bird printed dress which she paired with a handbag from The Row and a pair of Saint Laurent pumps. This look is chic and breezy, a look that will have many longing for spring amongst the bitter cold most are in right now.
Nicole Kidman is either love or loathe for me when she steps out on the red carpet. I was firmly on the love side when Nicole stepped out for the "Paddington" premiere in New York wearing an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo. This look just oozed glamour and Nicole made it look effortless. Stana Katic really brought the WOW factor to the red carpet at the Peoples Choice Awards to start January off on a major note wearing Carolina Herrera Resort 2015 strapless daisy embroidered ball gown. When so many wear casual and cocktail dresses many will say that Stana was overdressed, and I am included to agree, but when she looks as beautiful as she does then who cares? When Keira Knightley stepped out at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, wearing Delpozo Fall 2014 RTW, I let out a sigh of relief. Keira has not had a very good 2015, which is really disappointing after her amazing run last year. Keira wants to conceal her baby bump, and I can understand that, and this Delpozo has been the best drapery for that bump all year. She looked like a goddess.
After a VERY disappointing 2015, Jennifer Lawrence gave me an amazing look at the Producers Guild Awards wearing a custom Prada gown. This look polarized critics as many did not like the crystal patch on JLaw's stomach. I loved everything about this look. It was elegant, soft, and sweet. All things that I don't necessarily think of when I think of JLaw on the red carpets. Another look from the Art of Elysium's HEAVEN Gala on the list comes from Jena Malone, Lawrences "Mockingjay" costar, wearing a look from Adam Selman's Spring 2015 RTW collection. I have to say that I skipped right over this gown when I scrolled through the pictures of this collection when it was presented last September. Jena breathed life into this pearl accented a-line cap sleeve gown. Her sleek red locks made this look with a real stunner on the red carpet. Finally I have Emily Blunt wearing a custom David Koma cocktail ensemble at the "Into The Woods" London premiere. This cocktail dress is different in its cut and the ombre crystals just added to the look. Natural hair and makeup and simple cream sandals finished off a look that was all about a statement making dress.

Best Dressed at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards

The Screen Actors Guild Awards were held last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The stars came out in droves to support themselves and their nominated casts. Despite this being a night of honoring actors it was a plus one who took home my top honor. Camila Alves came on the arm of her hubby Matthew McConaughey. Camila definitely left her disheveled husband (like seriously whats up with the castaway beard?) in the dust wearing a stunning custom Donna Karan Atelier sculpturally draped eggplant strapless gown. Minimal styling and perfect hair and make up finished off a look that stood leaps and bounds above the actors on their big night.
Taking the menswear inspiration to a whole new level Emma Stone wore an impactful custom Christian Dior Couture ensemble. Had this been on anyone else I think that I would have been putting this on the worst dressed list, but Emma pull it off with major aplomb. The sleek hair, red lip, Repossi earcuffs, and Christian Louboutin sandals just sealed this look off with a sultry kiss. Julianne Moore, the Outstanding Female Actor in a Motion Picture winner, shocked me by wearing another custom Givenchy Couture gown on the red carpet last night. I had figured that after wearing Givenchy for the Golden Globe Awards (and topping best dressed lists in it) that Julianne would go to one of her other trusted brands (like Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, or Balenciaga) for the SAG Awards. I am not complaining because Julianne looks amazing in this emerald beaded Givenchy Couture scoop neck gown. Green is always a delight to see on a red head and Julianne knows that formula very well. Felicity Jones really wowed me wearing this amazing soft pink custom Balenciaga column gown with a sculptural criss-cross portrait neckline. Felicity does this mix of modern and vintage so well and she is just living up to my title of One to Watch that I gave her at the end of last year.
Reese Witherspoon has been on and off of the best and worst dressed lists recently. I was happy that when she showed up at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night that I was able to firmly put her on the best. Her custom one shoulder Giorgio Armani gown with subtle matte white sequin detailing, was an amazing refreshing modern choice. I am so used to seeing Reese in vintage inspired styles that this ultra modern look was something that I don't know if I would have predicted but I absolutely love. Uzo Aduba, who won Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series, really brought modern life to the red carpet in her Angel Sanchez Spring 2015 RTW gown. One of the few ladies on this list who got her gown off of the runway, I have to say that I was blown away. She has really stepped right into the role of red carpet diva. She keeps getting better and better with every single red carpet that she steps on. If you had told me that Sofia Vergara was going to show up at the SAG Awards in Donna Karan Atelier, I would have totally agreed (she has worn the brand to the SAGs for the past 3 years now), BUT if you had told me that it was not going to be a mermaid gown I would have laughed. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sofia wearing a soft draped Donna Karan Atelier corseted one shoulder red gown. The Colombian beauty really wowed. She showcased all of her famous curves without wearing something skin tight.
Another knock me down with a feather moment was when I realized that I was going to be putting Sarah Paulson on my best dressed list. The "American Horror Story" actress has never really been a favorite of mine, but she has been getting better with each appearance lately. This amazing Armani Prive ensemble that consisted of a white structured cape top and black silk crepe skirt was a red carpet knockout. She really showed her true beauty with this gown. Lupita Nyong'o really let me down at the Golden Globe Awards in Giambattista Valli, so I was really happy she redeemed herself last night. Lupita turned to the red carpet king, Elie Saab, and his Pre-Fall 2015 collection to pick her gown for this red carpet. Making a bold statement with this long sleeve multi pattern ball gown, I have to say that I let out a squeal when I saw a quick glimpse of her and it just got louder when I saw the whole look. And lastly, and I know that this will be a controversial choice, I have to say that I loved Claire Danes in her custom Marc Jacobs hunter green halter gown with side embellishments. Once I had pulled pictures of all of the stars and was looking to fill the last spot in my top 10 my eyes kept coming back to this design. I gotta say I am happy because for the past 2 years Claire has ended up on my worst dressed list for her SAG gown and this year it was something that I absolutely fell in love with.

Who did you love? Was there anyone that you think should have been on this list?

2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards: Female Actor in a Lead Role in a Movie Nominee Wish List

First off I would like to congratulate all of this years Academy Awards nominees, whom were announced this morning. I will be doing all those red carpet wish lists next month. Now to my wishes for the Screen Actors Guild Awards next Sunday night. Felicity Jones is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and is part of the nominated ensemble for "The Theory of Everything." I have to say that Felicity has really lived up to being one of my "Ones to Watch in both 2011 and 2014. This year she has just consistently given me absolutely amazing red carpet ensembles and I am looking forward to her taking this run all the way through the Academy Awards. The SAG Awards are one where Felicity can get away with wearing a shorter length and I think that this black Chanel Pre-Fall 2015 tea length dress with satin straps and a satin bow waistband with a crystal buckle. I think that this vintage inspired ensemble is perfect for the red carpet for Felicity. Finish the look with a 60's inspired bouffant, a red lip, and a pair of Manolo Blahnik 'Hangisi' black satin pumps to ensure that the vintage look is on full display.
*Shocker Alert* Jennifer Aniston wore BLACK to the Golden Globe Awards.......oh, wait. That is actually not a shock. I will say that I was shocked that she styled her hair and put on more makeup than normal. I do not see Jennifer straying away from her favored red carpet color when she takes to the red carpet at the 2015 SAG Awards next Sunday as a nominee for "Cake." I picked this Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2015 lace covered ball gown with a v-neck and belly cut out. If anyone can make a midsection cut out rock at almost 46 it would be Jennifer. The silhouette and the daringness of this gown are what would make this a shocking red carpet moment. Finish the look with a pair of Christian Louboutin 'Valnina' ankle strap sandals, another updo, and simple, (but still there) makeup and Jennifer will do another service to basic black on the red carpet.
I've been saying all awards season which designers that we will see Julianne Moore wear. She has already ticked the Givenchy box at the Golden Globe Awards and an wish for her to wear Chanel for the Critics Choice Awards tonight, I am going with Tom Ford for Julianne to wear for the Screen Actors Guild Awards next Sunday. Voted most likely to take home the bronze actor statue I am sure that Julianne will make this a major red carpet moment, as she normally does. I picked this pale blush pink Tom Ford Resort 2015 draped gown with black floral print an ribbon embellishments because it is different yet still a elegant enough for the SAG red carpet. The color against her skin color would make this an amazing red carpet moment. Hair pulled back and a red lip are the perfect beauty touches to compliment this gown. I would make this a Tom Ford look head to toe by adding a black and gold Tom Ford 'Natasha' anaconda skin minaudiere and Tom Ford black calfskin strappy sandals with a gold padlock. This would ensure that Julianne is on the top of the best dressed lists yet again.
Reese Witherspoon has been favoring the fitted silhouette as of late so I am hoping that at the Screen Actors Guild Awards next Sunday that Reese kills the red carpet in a new silhouette. I dug into the Christian Dior couture archives to pull this amazing tea length Spring 2013 Couture strapless gown in navy and powder blue. I think that his dress is the classic look that Reese always look so beautiful wearing. A chic updo, a bold red lip, Gianvito Rossi white lamb leather plexi pumps, and some dazzling diamonds will finish this look off perfectly for the red carpet at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards.
And to round out the Outstanding Female Actor in a Movie nominees is Rosamund Pike who garners her nomination thanks to the hit film "Gone Girl." It was a breath of fresh air to see Rosamund wear something other than a trapeze dress at the Golden Globe Awards. Her white Vera Wang cutout gown didn't win any awards with fashion critics, but I thought that it was a step in the right direction. For the SAG Awards I would love to see Rosamund wear this Gucci Pre-Fall 2015 floral gown with butterfly cape sleeves and a low plunge. I would pair this look with an Edie Parker 'Jean' nude and white pearlesant striped clutch, a pair of Gucci 'Mallory' gold crystal embellished nude suede sandals, and a pair of Bulgari earrings inlaid in yellow gold to ensure that Rosamund has a winning red carpet moment. A wavy bob and a red lip would finish this look in a vintage way which is a type of look we have yet to see from Rosamund and I think she would look absolutely amazing in this type of ensemble especially on the SAG Awards red carpet.

I will be live tweeting the Critics Choice Movie Awards tonight. If you want to join the conversation I will be joining Kelly from Dream In Lace with a live Twitter commentary on what all the stars are wearing and who is winning the awards. 2015 Producers Guild of America Awards Wish List

Emma Stone definably took one of the biggest risks at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards this past Sunday night wearing a Lanvin jumpsuit with an embellished bustier top and back bow. I have to say that her risk paid off and she did my Top 10 list. If she attends the 2015 Producers Guild of America Awards next Saturday to support the producers nominated for her film "Birdman," I would love to see Emma wear this amazing Gucci Spring 2015 RTW green embellished dress with a beautiful Chinese inspired printed skirt. This dress is sweet and is the kind of dress that I love to see Emma in every once in a while giving a break from all of her edgy ensembles. This is also a winning look in my book because, redhead + green dress = perfection. Finish the look with a pair of gold sandals and a red lip to ensure that Emma has another winning red carpet moment.
Felicity Jones is making her presence on the red carpet scene known, nothing said that more than her teal Christian Dior ball gown at the Golden Globe Awards. While I am anxiously awaiting to see what gowns she will wear for events like the SAG Awards, the BAFTA's, and ultimately the Oscars I am also excited to see her looks at these smaller awards shows. So far this year she has shunned her head to toe black ensembles and I am hoping that is kept up all through awards season. The producers of Felicity's film  "The Theory of Everything" are nominated at the PGA Awards and I am hoping that Felicity attends the ceremony the night before the SAG Awards. This black and red one shoulder Armani Prive Fall 2014 Couture lace dress which features a flared hem and illusion lace on the shoulder. I think that this would make for an even more impactful red carpet moment than her last Armani ensemble at the Toronto International Film Festival. A pair of black Christian Louboutin 'Paralili' slingback pumps, hair worn sleek and up, and a red lip will ensure that this is a winning red carpet look for the Producers Guild Awards.
Reese Witherspoon has been on and off wowing me this awards season. I either am totally enamored or it is a look that I feel that I can just blow off. I am hoping that at the 2015 Producers Guild of America Awards, where "Gone Girl" a film she was a producer on is nominated, that Reese will bring it. I am picking this Chanel Fall 2014 Couture cocktail dress. Cream, silver, and grey embellishments come together to make this amazing lady like cocktail ensemble for Reese to wear for the red carpet. I would not recommend that she wear the runway's matching cycling shorts with the dress. It didn't work for Lupita Nyong'o and it won't work for anyone. A pair of nude sandals would be the only accessory that I would pair with this look. Hair styled in chic curls and a bold red lip will make sure that Reese has a perfect red carpet moment at the PGA Awards.
Sienna Miller is stunning and I am extremely excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet if she attends the Producers Guild Awards on January 24. With two films that she appears in nominated, "American Sniper" and "Foxcatcher," I think that it is highly likely that we will see her at the PGA Awards. I am throwing her the gown that I had picked for Jennifer Aniston to wear for the Golden Globes since Jen didn't snatch it up. Unlike Jennifer I think that Sienna would totally take this look and make it her own styling it up with statement gold earrings, adding a gold clutch, a and a pair of gold pumps to ensure that she does not fade into the background like Jen so often does. I think that this gown fits Sienna's boho glam type of style.
And lastly we have a wish for supermodel Suki Waterhouse who will most likely be in attendance to support her boyfriend Bradley Cooper, who is nominated as one of the producers of "American Sniper." I gotta say I either love or hate what Suki wears on the red carpets, there have been very few times where one of her looks has fallen in the middle ground for me. I am hoping that next Saturday that Suki will give me an amazing look at the PGA Awards. This lilac Alberta Ferretti Spring 2015 RTW sleeveless chiffon gown is totally in tune with the models laid back type of glamour and I think that her favored messy hair would look perfect with this gown. Finish the look with a gold clutch and a pair of nude sandals an Suki would have a wonderful red carpet moment on her hands.
