2015 Acadey Awards: Guests Wish List

Sad day. It is the last Academy Awards wish list for 2015, but on a high note the Oscars are TONIGHT! So this list falls upon deaf ears as all these ladies have most likely picked their Oscar gowns. Anna Faris will most likely be on the Oscars red carpet as the arm candy of her hunky husband Chris Pratt, who will be on hand tonight as a presenter. I would love to see Anna go for a princess moment wearing this lilac Monique Lhuillier Spring 2015 RTW embroidered tulle V-neck ball gown features a violet ombre of beaded embroidery descending from the V-neck bodice in to a full skirt. I am surprised that this gown has not been worn thus far in Awards Season and I think that with the release of the Fall 2015 RTW collection last week that there is slim chance that this gown could get worn but I would love to see Anna wear it tonight.

Behati Prinsloo is the lucky lady that calls Academy Awards performer Adam Levine her husband. Behati has been at Adams side at all of his red carpet appearances since their wedding and I am sure that will continue through tonight. I would love to see Behati go for art deco Hollywood glam with this long sleeve completely beaded Naeem Khan Fall 2015 RTW black and silver gown that features directional striping, long sleeves, plunging v-neck, and a split up to there. This gown is the epitome of Hollywood glamour and the Oscars are the epitome of Hollywood. That makes this gown perfect.

I have to say that I am just as excited to see Camila Alves take to the red carpet on the arm of Matthew McConaughey as some of the nominees. Camila always gets it right on the red carpet and I am expecting nothing less come the Oscars this evening. I am praying that we will see the Brazilian bombshell wearing this pastel lemon yellow Georges Hobeika Spring 2015 Couture trumpet gown with a boat neck and bow belt. This is a perfect look for a guest of a presenter because it is dramatic enough for Camila but also says I respect the nominees.

Best Dressed at the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards

The Screen Actors Guild Awards were held last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The stars came out in droves to support themselves and their nominated casts. Despite this being a night of honoring actors it was a plus one who took home my top honor. Camila Alves came on the arm of her hubby Matthew McConaughey. Camila definitely left her disheveled husband (like seriously whats up with the castaway beard?) in the dust wearing a stunning custom Donna Karan Atelier sculpturally draped eggplant strapless gown. Minimal styling and perfect hair and make up finished off a look that stood leaps and bounds above the actors on their big night.

Taking the menswear inspiration to a whole new level Emma Stone wore an impactful custom Christian Dior Couture ensemble. Had this been on anyone else I think that I would have been putting this on the worst dressed list, but Emma pull it off with major aplomb. The sleek hair, red lip, Repossi earcuffs, and Christian Louboutin sandals just sealed this look off with a sultry kiss. Julianne Moore, the Outstanding Female Actor in a Motion Picture winner, shocked me by wearing another custom Givenchy Couture gown on the red carpet last night. I had figured that after wearing Givenchy for the Golden Globe Awards (and topping best dressed lists in it) that Julianne would go to one of her other trusted brands (like Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford, or Balenciaga) for the SAG Awards. I am not complaining because Julianne looks amazing in this emerald beaded Givenchy Couture scoop neck gown. Green is always a delight to see on a red head and Julianne knows that formula very well. Felicity Jones really wowed me wearing this amazing soft pink custom Balenciaga column gown with a sculptural criss-cross portrait neckline. Felicity does this mix of modern and vintage so well and she is just living up to my title of One to Watch that I gave her at the end of last year.

Reese Witherspoon has been on and off of the best and worst dressed lists recently. I was happy that when she showed up at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night that I was able to firmly put her on the best. Her custom one shoulder Giorgio Armani gown with subtle matte white sequin detailing, was an amazing refreshing modern choice. I am so used to seeing Reese in vintage inspired styles that this ultra modern look was something that I don't know if I would have predicted but I absolutely love. Uzo Aduba, who won Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series, really brought modern life to the red carpet in her Angel Sanchez Spring 2015 RTW gown. One of the few ladies on this list who got her gown off of the runway, I have to say that I was blown away. She has really stepped right into the role of red carpet diva. She keeps getting better and better with every single red carpet that she steps on. If you had told me that Sofia Vergara was going to show up at the SAG Awards in Donna Karan Atelier, I would have totally agreed (she has worn the brand to the SAGs for the past 3 years now), BUT if you had told me that it was not going to be a mermaid gown I would have laughed. I was pleasantly surprised to see Sofia wearing a soft draped Donna Karan Atelier corseted one shoulder red gown. The Colombian beauty really wowed. She showcased all of her famous curves without wearing something skin tight.

Another knock me down with a feather moment was when I realized that I was going to be putting Sarah Paulson on my best dressed list. The "American Horror Story" actress has never really been a favorite of mine, but she has been getting better with each appearance lately. This amazing Armani Prive ensemble that consisted of a white structured cape top and black silk crepe skirt was a red carpet knockout. She really showed her true beauty with this gown. Lupita Nyong'o really let me down at the Golden Globe Awards in Giambattista Valli, so I was really happy she redeemed herself last night. Lupita turned to the red carpet king, Elie Saab, and his Pre-Fall 2015 collection to pick her gown for this red carpet. Making a bold statement with this long sleeve multi pattern ball gown, I have to say that I let out a squeal when I saw a quick glimpse of her and it just got louder when I saw the whole look. And lastly, and I know that this will be a controversial choice, I have to say that I loved Claire Danes in her custom Marc Jacobs hunter green halter gown with side embellishments. Once I had pulled pictures of all of the stars and was looking to fill the last spot in my top 10 my eyes kept coming back to this design. I gotta say I am happy because for the past 2 years Claire has ended up on my worst dressed list for her SAG gown and this year it was something that I absolutely fell in love with.

2014 End of the Year Awards: Best Arm Candy

From promoting "Dallas Buyers Club" and "Interstellar" to Awards Season and the Emmy Awards, no one played the roll of standing by her man better than Camila Alves. The stunning model donned couture and stood next to her husband Matthew McConaughey as he did the promotional pony dance around the world. I have to say I am exited that it is looking like McConaughey will be on the red carpets during Awards Season 2015 not because of him but because it means that Camila will be right next to him looking breathtaking....anyone else expecting a repeat award winner?

Runway Report: Pamella Roland Resort 2015

While I can never really grasp a true theme around any of Pamella Roland's collections, but she definitely knows how to deliver amazing red carpet worthy gowns. The Resort 2015 collection is just the same in its glamour. I almost see a dark artists garden with vivid pinks, greens, and blues as well as some pale pinks, nudes, and whites. I am sure we will see many of these gowns take to the red carpet on a bevy of celebrities. If someone is looking for sweet classic red carpet attire they need to look no further than the Pamella Roland Resort 2015 collection.

2014 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Wish List

Amy Adams is a member of the cast of 'American Hustle' which will be reciveing the Ensemble Cast Award at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala which will kick off awards season on January 4th 2014. The Palm Springs Awards Gala really kicks off the major awards this year but it is different than most because the honorees are announced in the 2 months prior to the event. With a cocktail attire or fancier dress code this is one of the more dressed down events where most ladies don shorter ensembles and have fun. I would love to see one of my favorite Hollywood red heads wear this amazing gold lame Altuzzara Spring 2014 RTW cocktail dress which features a side slit and a plunging neck. There is just something about this look that just makes me think of Amy and I am not quite sure what it is because it is not in her normal realm of style. Finish the look with a gold clutch and a pair of simple gold sandals and Amy will walk the carpet like she owns it.

Camila Alves will be on her husbands, Matthew McConaughey, arm as he receives his Desert Palm Achievement Award for his work in 'Dallas Buyers Club.' Camila has always stood next to Matt as he takes to the red carpet looking nothing short of a stunning trophy wife, though I am sure that she is much more than that. For this event I am going to wish that she wears this black Andrew Gn Resort 2014 knee length dress that features gold coral pattern embroidery and three quarter length sleeves. She really knows how to work a red carpet and I think that this would be the perfect look for her to wear for this event. Just add a simple pair of pointed toe Christian Louboutin black pumps and a red lip and Camila is ready to take the carpet by storm.

Jennifer Lawrence will also help pick up the Ensemble Cast Award for 'American Hustle' with co-star Amy Adams at the 2014 Palm Springs Film Festival. I am clawing to figure out what JLaw will wear for these red carpets because there isn't a whole lot of anything left from the Fall 2013 Couture or Spring 2014 RTW collections from Christian Dior, where she is the face of the brand, so I am re-posting a wish I made for her to wear for the LA Premiere of 'Catching Fire.' While I was highly impressed with her sheer grey Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture gown on that red carpet I would still like to see Mrs Lawrence take to the red carpet in this tea length gown. Finish the look with a black clutch, a pair of black Saint Laurent 'Jane' sandals, and some simple Chopard diamonds will complete this look for this occasion.

Julia Roberts will be taking home the Spotlight Award at the 2014 Palm Spring Film Festival Awards Gala. The star known for her love of black an her menswear inspired layering should wear a modified version of this long sleeved Altuzzara Resort 2014 dress. I would close this dress up on the one side so there is no skin showing on her leg and remove the leather band around the breasts. Add a statement necklace from Van Cleef & Arpels and a pair of black and gold Saint Laurent 'Janis' metal-trim cap toe platform pump will complete this look for Julia and give her a look that I would actually enjoy seeing her in.

The performance that Lupita Nyong'o gave in '12 Years a Slave' is giving her the Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2014 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. So far since she stepped out on the scene in September Lupita has been able to snag looks from some of the worlds most coveted designers from brand new collections to custom creations to couture. For this awards show I would love to see the stunning Kenyan actress wear this copper colored Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2014 gown which is reminiscent of stuff out of the 1930's. A a bronze and brown Kotur art deco clutch as well as a pair of bronze Jimmy Choo sandals and simple earrings complete this look which is perfect for an emerging red carpet talent such as Lupita.

Last but certainly not least we have a wish for Desert Palm Achievement Award recipient for her work in 'Gravity' Sandra Bullock. There are two Sandra's that take to the red carpet. One is almost always on the best dressed lists and one is almost always blah. I am hoping that best dressed Sandy is out on the red carpet on January 4th for the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. If she were to don this green, blue, and goldenrod Aquilano.Rimondi Spring 2014 RTW dress then I be believe that Sandy would look absolutely stunning on the red carpet. A simple satin black Prada box clutch, a pair of mustard yellow Charlotte Olympia pointed toe platform pumps, and some simple Bulgari jewelery will make for the perfect look for Sandy for the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala on Jan 4th.

2013 Rome Film Festival: 'Dallas Buyers Club' Premiere Wish List

Camila Alves is not in 'Dallas Buyers Club' but I am pretty sure that we will see her take to the red carpet alongside her beau Matthew McConaughey. Much like Jessica Biel is for Justin Timberlake, Camila is always glam on the red carpet to play the roll of arm candy for Matthew. For the Rome Film Festival Premiere of 'Dallas Buyers Club' Camila should snatch up this amazing royal blue Zuhair Murad Fall 2013 Couture gown with long lace sleeves. This gown is like the definition of Camila, sophisticated with a lot of sex appeal. The lace and sheer inserts in this gown take it to the perfect level. Complete this amazing red carpet ensemble with a pair of gunmetal silver sandals and some simple diamond jewels for an amazing film festival premiere.

After an amazing run supporting her husband, Ben Affleck, during awards season this year wearing the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Oscar de la Renta, Roland Mouret, and Gucci Premiere, I was incredibly disappointed when Jennifer Garner stepped out in a really ugly champagne satin and red lace Dolce & Gabbana dress that just did absolutely nothing for her. I am hoping that she is able to bring herself back to top form for the Rome Film Festival premiere of her latest film 'Dallas Buyers Club.' I think that if she were to don this silvery lace Valentino Spring 2013 Couture high neck ball gown would be the perfect look for Jen to wear on this red carpet. It would be a regal moment on a major red carpet that Jen hasn't had in quite a long time. Finish the look with a pair of silver Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe satin pumps and simple vintage diamonds and Jennifer will shock me when she steps out of her car in Rome for this premiere.

2013 Hollywood Film Awards Wish List

 The road to the 2014 Academy Awards will begin on Sunday October 21st at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards, the first major awards event of the season. One thing different about this awards show is that all of the winners are announced prior to the night of the event. The 2013 Hollywood Ensemble Award will be handed over to the ensemble cast of 'August: Osage County' on Sunday night and 17 year old Abigail Breslin is one of the members of the cast. Abigail has a dark but flirty and young red carpet style. For the premiere of the film at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival she wore a dark floral Alice + Olivia gown which she paired with a denim jacket to make it just that much more youthful. For the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards I would love to see this pastel colored Giles Spring 2014 RTW camo print cocktail dress. This is a youthful cocktail ensemble that is perfect for Abigail and the event. Finish the look with a pony-tail over one shoulder and a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps and Abigail will have the perfect red carpet look.

 Camilla Alves is not being honored with anything at this awards show but I am sure she will make an appearance as she is the wife and arm candy of Hollywood Actor Award honoree Matthew McConaughey, who is being honored for his work in 'Dallas Buyers Club.' Camilla always looks elegant when she is playing the plus one role. I think that this teal Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 RTW long sleeve dress with lace inserts. This dress is sophisticated with a sexy twist which is something that we usually see Camilla do when she steps out on the red carpet. Finish this look off with amazing flowing locks, gold sandals,  minimal jewels and Camilla will finish off this amazing look.

 Julia Roberts is the other member of the ensemble cast of 'August: Osage County' on this list who will be honored with the Hollywood Ensemble Award and is also going to be honored with the Hollywood Supporting Actress Award. I have not been a fan of Julia Roberts on the red carpet since her black and white Valentino Oscar gown in 2001. I was happy to see her wear a bold red Dolce & Gabbana dress for the films Toronto International Film Festival and I am hoping to see her continue wearing bold options all through awards season. The only couture wish on this list comes from the Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture collection and I think that this multi colored entirely beaded long sleeved cocktail dress is perfect for Julia and features a sexy open back for a hint of sex appeal. Finish the look with the same nude sandals that she wore with her Dolce & Gabbana dress will make for the perfect look for her to wear Sunday night.

 I will have to say that the woman I am most looking forward to seeing take to the red carpet at the 2013 Hollywood Film Awards is the New Hollywood Award honoree Lupita Nyong'o. Lupita is being honored for her work in the Steve McQueen drama '12 Years a Slave.' The actress made her big red carpet debut at the films Toronto International Film Festival premiere wearing a white and gold custom made Prada gown, and then continued on to sit front row at the Miu Miu Spring 2014 RTW collection, I am predicting a stunning custom Prada or Miu Miu gown if she makes it to the 2014 Academy Awards. But for Sunday nights Hollywood Film Awards I would love to see Lupita wear this amazing red, white, and black Miu Miu Spring 2014 RTW cocktail ensemble that is finished off with beaded fringe on the bodice and waist. I am not usually a fan of the Miu Miu collections on the runway, usually favoring the custom red carpet pieces, but I am really in love with this look. I think that Lupita is one of the few women that I can picture wearing this look and in my head she defiantly is the person that wears it the best. Complete this look with a pair of black sandals and a red clutch and Lupita will have the perfect red carpet look for the Hollywood Film Awards.

I keep hearing the possible Oscar buzz behind Sandra Bullock and I can't actually wait to see her latest film 'Gravity.' I am sure that the Hollywood Actress Award honor from this years Hollywood Film Awards will not hurt her chances of at least scoring a nomination. For her to collect her award Sunday night I would love to see the stunning 49 year old actress wear this rust colored J. Mendel Spring 2014 RTW off the shoulder gown with a sexy slit up to there. I was less than impressed with the red J. Mendel gown Sandy wore for the films Venice Film Festival premiere. I would complete this ensemble with a pair of black and gold Gucci 'Kelis' sandals and a black Gucci 'Hollywood' gold studded clutch to give Sandra the perfect red carpet ensemble for the Hollywood Film Awards.

Readers Choice Best Dressed of 2011 List

Best Dressed Newcomer: Camila Alves

There were a bunch of celebrities in the running for this award but when I compared each of their bodies of work, I decided that Camila Alves was the one who is the best. Since she made her coming out at the Lincoln Lawyer Los Angeles Premiere. Camila is the model girlfriend and baby mama to stud Mathew McConaughey, so that is why she attended this premiere. She did so wearing a custom made Camilla & Marc black one shoulder silk gown paired with a Kotur clutch and Pomellato jewelery.

Camila let out her sexy side for the US Weekly Hot Hollywood Party, wearing a sexy but expected red Dolce & Gabbana bustier dress. Camila takes this stale dress and makes it absolutely stunning and breaths a new breath of life to this dress. A red clutch and silver sequin pumps completed this stunning ensemble.

For the Brazilian themed party at the Swarovski Crystallized concept store in NYC, Camila donned the color red again. This color looks absolutely stunning against her skin tone. This time her dress came courtesy of Gomez Garcia, the Brazilian beauty paired her red long sleeved dress with Swarovski jewelry and Jimmy Choo slingback pumps.

For the 2011 Academy Awards ceremony Camila channeled her inner modern princess wearing this structured KaufmanFranco Spring 2012 RTW ball gown. She kept her look simple opting to only wear diamond earrings. This look makes me think of something that Audrey Hepburn would wear in modern times.

After the Awards Camila changed into an extremely sexy black lace Zuhair Murad Spring 2011 Couture gown, which she paired with the same up-do hairstyle and a black Kotur clutch. I absolutely love this look because she is working the dress like it is going to pay for her next car, when it probably costs enough to buy a new car.

Camila again donned Zuhair Murad but from the Fall 2011 RTW collection at the 39th AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Morgan Freeman. The metallic gold color looks amazing against her caramel Brazilian skin color and her matching gold Jimmy Choo clutch and strappy sandals.
