Elizabeth Banks attended a luncheon thrown by Vanity Fair and Stuart Weitzman in Los Angeles yesterday and she did so in fine style. Elizabeth worked a cloud blue Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2016 jumpsuit rendered in lace and double georgette and features a bi-level style with a jewel neckline and a fluid pant. There is a small list of women who I can honestly say could pull this off and Elizabeth does so in such amazing style. A matching clutch, hidden nude pumps, fresh faced makeup, and hair pulled back just made this look sing on the red carpet at this Vanity Fair luncheon.

Front Row: Saint Laurent at the Hollywood Palladium
Stars of fashion, film, television, and music came out in droves last night for the Saint Laurent at the Hollywood Palladium presentation of the Fall 2016 Menswear and Part 1 of the Fall 2016 Womenswear collections by Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent. Heidi went the route that Tom Ford did with his Fall 2015 RTW presentation last year but instead of capitalizing on the Oscars Heidi capitalized on the star force in LA out out for the Grammy Awards. Music stars like Justin Beiber, Miguel, Joan Jett, Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson were seated amongst the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jane Fonda, the Fanning sisters, Emma Roberts, and Sylvester Stallone. Check out the gallery bellow to see all the stars that were in attendance.
You Better Werk!: Madalina Ghenea in Zuhair Murad Couture at the Sanremo Festival
Madalina Ghenea, the Romanian actress and model who is serving as a hostess at the Sanremo Music Festival this year, has been blowing me away. Yesterday Madalina wore a trio of Zuhair Murad Couture gowns on the stage yesterday and I am starting to develop a bit of a girl crush on her. She kicked off the day wearing a light blue gown from the Spring 2015 Couture collection which features a beautiful back bustle. I was a little sad that of all of the Zuhair gowns that Madalina could have chosen she picked the gown that Ana Beatriz Barrios wore to the Monaco royal wedding last year, but Madalina does do the look incredible justice. My favorite look of the three is the stunning impact making ruby red starburst embroidered long sleeve ball gown from the Fall 2015 Couture collection. I tend to favor these high impact looks from Madalina and this definitely is sweet and sexy all at the same time. Her final look saw her back in the Spring 2015 Couture collection with a silver grey gown which reminds me a little of something that would make a perfect costume for Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Madalina looked absolutely beautiful wearing it. I am already excited to see what she is going to wear tonight. Which couturier will she choose tonight?
2016 amfAR New York Gala Red Carpet Rundown
Hollywood star power met fashions biggest names at Cipriani Wall Street last night to support amfAR and the their mission to eradicate HIV/AIDS and they did so in high style. From Diane Kruger and her amazing custom Prada to Chanel Iman in Zuhair Murad Couture lady pants the stars looked beautiful. Yes there are a few not so favorable looks but all in all it was a good red carpet. Flip through all the looks and let me know who you really enjoyed and who you would turn into the Fashion Police.
You Better Werk!: Diane Kruger in Prada at the amfAR New York Gala
Diane Kruger was on the red carpet at the amfAR New York Gala last night and she was just as beautiful as ever wearing a custom Prada gown. Diane has always been one of my favorite red carpet ladies and she, unlike most, seems to almost always get her hands on the best custom Prada gowns and this is no exception. The messy updo and diamond cluster earrings were perfection. I could take or leave the clutch but it does add to the look. This will for sure be a contender for my Best Dressed of the Month list.

Vintage Glamour: Madalina Ghenea in Alberta Ferretti at the Sanremo Festival
Following her tigress moment in Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition earlier in the day Romanian actress and model Madalina Ghenea continued her hosting responsibilities at the 2016 Sanremo Festival by digging into the Alberta Ferretti archives and grabbed this Pre-Fall 2012 gown. The beaded vintage inspired gown has been something that I have always wanted to see on the red carpet and I more than think that Madalina has made this gown work for her. It might be a little short or I would have swapped her white sandals for gold sandals but I still think that with the beautiful finger wave hairstyle and her chandelier diamond earrings that this is a beautiful look. Like I said earlier I am very excited to see what else Madalina has in store for the rest of Sanremo.
What Were You Thinking?: Naomi Campbell in Marc Jacobs at the "Zoolander No. 2" NYC Premiere
I am always perplexed as to what Naomi Campbell is thinking when she steps out on the red carpet. As the world's most recognizable supermodel with friends at all of the largest fashion houses Naomi more often than not ends up on my worst dressed list. I have always thought that she should either fire her stylist or if she is making these decisions herself then she should get one. Case and point? This Marc Jacobs Spring 2016 RTW coat that Naomi wore over a black satin bra, and black mini shorts. I know that this was a kitschy red carpet, it started with a fashion show down the red carpet, but this was her actual red carpet look. Just adding to the terrible nature of this look were those silver sandals which just looked cheap. The only thing from this look that I would salvage is the necklace. Sorry Naomi you tried but it just didn't work, please go home and try again.
You Better Werk!: Madalina Ghenea in Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition at the Sanremo Festival
I was turned on to the Sanremo Music Festival (which takes place in Sanremo, Italy) a few years ago when George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis was a host and wore a bevy of couture creations over the course of her duties. I check back every year to see who will wow me and this year Madalina Ghenea, a Romanian actress and model, caught my eye wearing a tiger print gown modified from the Alberta Ferretti Limited Edition Spring 2016 Couture collection. I don't see many women having the confidence or presence to be able to pull off this gown but I think that Madalina does so with such an elegant ease. The relaxed wavy bob and smokey eye just added the perfect punctuation to this amazing look on the Sanremo stage. I am excited to see what else that Madalina will wear. Will she give us Armani Prive? Atelier Versace? Dior?

You Better Werk!: Saoirse Ronan in Laura Basci at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon
After saying that Saoirse Ronan had not given me a wow moment earlier today in my BAFTA Awards wish list, I finally have a moment that has me interested. Saoirse attended that Oscar Nominees Luncheon wearing a Laura Basci shorts suit in Hollywood yesterday and I have to say that this is the moment that I have been waiting for. Saoirse has been known for her edgy looks prior to this awards season and I have been missing that and this edgy school girl, menswear inspired look made me take notice of her again. I love that she keep very natural waves and paired the look with a pair of strappy black sandals. This has to be my favorite look from Saoirse in a very long time.
You Better Werk!: Lady Gaga in Christian Siriano at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon
Lady Gaga is a busy woman this week. She kicked it off performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl wearing custom Gucci on Sunday and she has a bunch of appearances at pre-Grammy parties as well as the Grammy Awards this weekend, and yesterday she stepped out in Hollywood at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon wearing a custom nude Christian Siriano gown. Honestly Gaga is overdressed for a daytime luncheon but then again it is Gaga we are talking about and there is no denying how gorgeous that she is. This turtle neck gown showcased the mod glam trend that was very apparent on the red carpet yesterday but in a very formal way.
You Better Werk: Rachel McAdams in Prada at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon
Rachel McAdams attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon in Hollywood yesterday wearing a fun flirty custom Prada pink embellished cocktail dress. When I first saw this dress I honestly thought it was a custom Gucci piece but was pleasantly surprised that Prada had custom made this for Rachel as Prada has never made a custom cocktail look that I have actually liked. I think that 60's inspired look of this dress paired with the nondescript nude pumps, and wavy bob just made for a killer red carpet look from Rachel.

You Better Werk!: Penelope Cruz in Atelier Versace at the "Zoolander 2" London Premiere
Each look that Penelope Cruz has worn over the course of the Zoolander No. 2 promo tour has been better than the last, and last night at the London premiere she had her best look. Penelope dazzled in a silver draped chainmail Atelier Versace gown with a sexy thigh high split. This gown with the sleek hair, silver Versace sandals, and Chopard diamonds was a total winner. I have missed Penelope delivering stunning red carpet moments on the red carpet and I am happy to see her back at her best.

You Better Werk!: Dakota Johnson at the "How To Be Single" NYC Premiere in Saint Laurent
Dakota Johnson was the epitome of boho chic meets Studio 54 glamour at the New York City premiere of How To Be Single wearing custom Saint Laurent. I will be the first to say that I have not been the biggest fan of Dakota's red carpet styling but recently she has been hitting her mark every single time that she steps out on the red carpet. This nude Saint Laurent gown embellished with silver stars just made me smile. Everything about this look was absolutely perfect, from the pulled back waves and the soft browns of her makeup to the Fred Leighton rings and Judith Leiber clutch. I continue to enjoy seeing Dakota on the red carpet and I hope that she just keeps getting better.

You Better Werk!: Kiernan Shipka in Erdem at the SAG Awards
Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka was one of the few that I was really looking forward to seeing on the red carpet at the SAG Awards last night, and she did not disappoint. I was blown away by her custom purple Erdem strapless silk corseted gown. Kiernan always knows how to rock the red carpet and with her very first full length gown I just love the vibe of effortless relaxed high glam that she is exuding here. From the gown which could have gone very high glam paired with the windswept hair and very basic makeup just reminded me why she is such a style star at such a young age. She really did werk the red carpet and gave us something so chic and elegant. She is someone that I would love my my nieces to look up to style wise as she knows how to dress in high fashion while still keeping it age appropriate. She will be around for a long time to come and she just keeps getting better.
When Bad Dresses Happen To Good People: Gwendoline Christie in Lanvin at the SAG Awards
I feel like I am almost always ragging on Gwendoline Christie when she steps onto a red carpet. I think that she has a hard time trying to find the right looks for her based on just how tall she is to start (she is 6'3" after all) but this Lanvin gown, which was presented as a cocktail dress in the Spring 2016 RTW collection, was just awful. On the runway I liked the short bubble hem and I think that the likes of Kate Bosworth, Lupita Nyong'o, or Emma Stone could have sold the cocktail version to me but this gown just looked unfinished. For something custom made for Gwendoline I am very disappointed. The gown does her no favors, that's it. Plain and simple.
The look was further brought down by the angular slicked back bob that she has going on. With this type of gown I would have preferred to see Gwendoline wear her hair in soft vintage inspired curls. The fir of this gown was also terribly off it looked like it was just thrown together. All in all this was not something that should ever have seen the light of day. Gwendoline my personal opinion is stick to simpler styles as they are usually when I love your red carpet outings.
You Better Werk: Brie Larson in Atelier Versace at the SAG Awards
So the SAG Awards were last night in Hollywood and I was honestly bored by most of the red carpet so there will be no Top 10 list from this event. Instead I am going to introduce a new red carpet fashion post called "You Better Werk." Last night when the E! Live From The Red Carpet cameras cut to Brie Larson getting out out of her car I let out a little squeal because she was wearing one of my favorite looks from the sporty Atelier Versace Spring 2016 Couture collection, which walked the runway just a week ago. I was expecting to Brie to wear something very pretty but this was just a major unexpected WOW moment for me.
What I really loved aside from the modern glamour of this is that Brie looked so shining and confident wearing it especially when she was holding her award (which almost matched the dress!) I was not a huge fan of Brie's going into Awards Season but she has consistently shown me that she is one that I should take seriously on the red carpet and her looks are proving that. She keeps building on the success of her last look and I am already trying to figure out what I would love to see her in at the Academy Awards!
What really made this look were all of the little details that were infuses from her custom dyed Roger Vivier silver satin sandals, Jacob & Co. diamonds, an unseen except on Instagram quirky Anya Hindmarch clutch, as well as the details on the dress like the orange safety strap and Swarovski crystal rope detailing all made this look one that I will definitely be remembering come Best Dressed of the Year time.

Red Carpet Rundown: 1/9/2016 to 1/15/2016
This week there has been a lot of red carpet events and here are all the looks. I am not going to do a written rundown of all the looks bellow because there are 79 looks this week but I urge you to sort through them all and tell me which you think were absolutely fabulous and which you think were total disasters. From Golden Globe Parties, the Art of Elysium HEAVEN Gala, the UNICEF Ball, movie premieres, and much more the stars were out in full force this week and it continues to keep my fire burning for all of the awards season red carpets. Some of my favorites include Ciara at the College Football Playoffs in Yousef Al-Jasmi, Jourdan Dunn in Burberry at the Burberry Fall 2016 Menswear presentation, and Tao Okamoto at the UNICEF Ball wearing custom Louis Vuitton. Among my least favorites were Juliette Lewis in Vivienne Westwood at the Art of Elysium HEAVEN Gala, Michelle Monaghan at the Netflix Golden Globe After Party wearing Prabal Gurung, and Chloe Grace Moretz at The 5th Wave fan screening in Marc Jacobs Spring 2016 RTW. As always remember that this is not a Best Dressed list, I will continue with monthly Best Dressed lists as well as lists for all of the major fabulous red carpets.

2016 People's Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup
So last night the first televised awards show of the year kicked off, the People's Choice Awards. I am not going to spend too much time because this red carpet was a mishmosh of crap with a few hidden gems. The big surprise for me was just how many women showed up wearing full on gowns when the dress code for the People's Choice Awards is usually much more relaxed casual/cocktail attire. My favorite look of the night was Kate Hudson in her cream Stella McCartney tuxedo jumpsuit followed by Dakota Johnson in Armani Prive Spring 2014 Couture. Surprise favorites were Meghan Trainor in Balmain Fall 2015 RTW and Kat Graham in David Koma. I was disappointed in Priyanka Chopra as her Vera Wang Spring 2016 RTW dress reminded me of a major Carey Mulligan in Prada moment from a few Met Gala's ago, and Carey wore it better. Everyone else failed to excite. My worst dressed at the event was Keke Palmer who looked like she was auditioning for a role on the next Star Wars film with her rat tail/Jedi braid and Yousef Al Jasmi Spring 2016 Couture top and skirt which looks like something leftover from the 80's. Hopefully this is not a sign of things to come this year.

2016 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Red Carpet Rundown
Awards season 2016 officially kicked off on Saturday night with the red carpet of the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. Some of the stars brought it, like Cate Blanchett in Marc Jacobs and Brie Larson in Jason Wu, while others fell flat, like Rooney Mara in Lanvin and Amber Heard in Dolce & Gabbana, and Saoirse Ronan was all kinds of crazy in Duro Olowu. This red carpet did just enough to keep me wanting more. I will be tweeting out outfits from the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night and then I will be live-tweeting the Golden Globes red carpet and show with my partner in snark Kelly from Dream In Lace. I will also be posting to Instagram and Snapchat (@futurestylist93 on both), so make sure you are following along there! Happy awards season everyone, hopefully lots of glamour and just a little fug are in our future.
