2016 Peoples Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

While the People's Choice Awards, which are next Wednesday night, are a more cocktail/casual type of red carpet Stana Katic always shows up in a big gown. For this years event I picked this Lela Rose Spring 2016 RTW white and yellow floral silk gown for Stana to wear. I think that this would be a flirty fun moment for Stana on the People's Choice Awards red carpet. I don't believe that this is the right kinda look for this red carpet but a perfect look for Stana. Finished with a white Edie Parker clutch, a pair of gold sandals, a chic updo and a pink lip this look would be absolutely beautiful.
I have been seeing a lot of Taraji P. Henson trying really hard to be sexy on the red carpet recently. I wish she would realize that when she tries so hard that it comes across as desperate. I think that if Taraji wore this red Anthony Vaccarello Spring 2016 RTW aluminum dress studded with silver studs that this dress would add all the sex that she needs. All that she would need to add to this look is a curly hairstyle, a red lip, and a pair of silver sandals to keep the sexy all in the dress and not add an ounce of try hard to this look.
I said in an earlier post that we don't usually see many people wearing couture on the People's Choice Awards red carpet but there are always exceptions. An exception to that rule I think would be Taylor Swift (who is nominated for Favorite Female Singer, Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Song for "Bad Blood," and Favorite Social Media Celebrity) wearing this deep ruby red Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. I love this jumpsuit and I would love it the most if Taylor wore the cape but I think that might be a little too much for this red carpet. Make this modern look a little more old Hollywood with a curly bob, a red lip, black clutch, and a pair of black pumps and Taylor would have my hear beating just a little faster as she walks the red carpet.
I am always iffy when I see that Vanessa Hudgens is going to be attending an event. She has a wobbly sense of style and can vary from best to meh to worst from event to event, consistent is one thing Vanessa is not. Presenting with her Grease: Live cohorts Julianne Hough and Carly Rae Jepsen I am expecting Vanessa to stick to her bohemian vibes as she walks the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards. With that in mind I picked this green and orange patterned Valentino Spring 2016 RTW floating mini-dress with it's plunging neckline, side cutouts, and braided wait detail for Vanessa to wear on the red carpet. I think that this is the perfect type of look for her to wear for this red carpet as it is not to much but just the right style for this event. A simple gold clutch, a pair of gold strappy sandals, a nude lip, slight smoky eye, and waves worn back would ensure that this look is finished off perfectly for the People's Choice Awards red carpet.
The finial wish for the 2016 People's Choice Awards, which take place on January 2, 2015, is for Favorite Dramatic TV Actress nominee Viola Davis, who can thank her role as Annalise Keating on the show How To Get Away With Murder. Viola has a very chic and sophisticated type of look and I am very excited to see what she will bring to the red carpet because she knows how to keep getting better and better on the red carpet. For this red carpet I picked this Sachin + Babi Spring 2016 RTW white pencil dress which features a beautiful blue and yellow print on the sleeve. This is such a chic look that it might be a little too sophisticated for this event, but then again Viola did wear an Escada gown to the event last year. I would honestly keep the blue pumps that the gown was paired with at the presentation and add a white clutch to finish this look off to perfection.

The Best Looks from the Film Independent Spirit Awards

I will say that I am slightly disappointed in the red carpet from the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards. There was not a huge bustle of stars as per usual, but the stars that did show up really brought it. The lady that I always look forward to seeing on the carpet the most, Cate Blanchett, did not let me down. Queen Cate rocked a Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture long sleeve tea length dress with heart and cupids arrow print. I love how sophisticated this quirky ensemble came off on Cate. Many would have made this look tacky but not the red carpet queen.
While Emma Stone kept up her all back Awards Season run she looked beautiful in a hot off the runway Monique Lhuillier Fall 2015 RTW dress with a lace bodice and full skirt. I love how Emma can make a black dress anything but basic. I was really surprised by how much I actually loved what Carmen Ejogo wore on the red carpet. Carmen has not really impressed me thus far but this black Roksanda Pre-Fall 2015 strapless jumpsuit with its 3D color blocked detail on the top. I think that this look really put Carmen on the map and I am actually really excited to see what she will wear tonight. One lady I thought would be fighting Cate Blanchett for the top spot was Julianne Moore. She looked amazing in her Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture shift dress, but I don't know I was expecting more. Julianne looked youthful and beautiful, and as always experimented with fashion, and still looked absolutely fabulous. And last but not least "Castle" star Stana Katic rocked a Chloe Resort 2015 textured maxi dress. Stana usually looks way over dressed, she wore a Carolina Herrera ball gown for the Peoples Choice Awards of all events, so I was pleasantly surprised that she was dressed perfectly for the events dress code.

Best Dressed of January 2015

I have decided to let all of my followers in on my secret to coming up with my Best Dressed of the Year list. What I do to sift through all those amazing looks that take to the red carpet over the year is pick 10 looks each month, also all the event Top 10's, and file them away in a best dressed folder. 2015 has been off to an amazing start and I am only holding out hope for even more amazing looks from here on out. When doing these lists I take out all the looks that I loved from events like the Golden Globe and SAG Awards so that other looks have a fighting chance. Burlesque queen Dita Von Teese gave me my favorite look from January wearing a bold purple Alexis Mabille Spring 2015 Couture one shoulder corseted gown for the Sidiaction Gala in Paris. Dita pulled this gown right off the runway and just oozed glamour as she posed for the photographers. Pairing her look with her signature vintage hair style, red lip, and the runways Alexis Mabille feather clutch.
Up next we have Kate Hudson at the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Presentation wearing a modified Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture cocktail dress. Kate Hudson wears Versace like no other woman EVER. Kate always oozes relaxed sexual glamour when wearing any Versace ensemble and this is the epitome of that ideal. Letting her blonde locks fall naturally and pairing the look with a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pointed toe pumps just made this the perfect front row ensemble. Paz Vega took to the red carpet at the Art of Elysium HEAVEN Gala, the night before the Golden Globe Awards, and really wowed me wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2015 RTW cap sleeve gown that features a bold floral and spectrum print on the skirt. I did not think that we would see this gown on the red carpet, so to see it on Paz and her making it look so effortless just fits her on this list in the 3rd position. Last year the only person to give Taylor Swift a run for her money on the sidewalk runway was Reese Witherspoon. Here we see Reese running errands wearing a Carolina Herrera bird printed dress which she paired with a handbag from The Row and a pair of Saint Laurent pumps. This look is chic and breezy, a look that will have many longing for spring amongst the bitter cold most are in right now.
Nicole Kidman is either love or loathe for me when she steps out on the red carpet. I was firmly on the love side when Nicole stepped out for the "Paddington" premiere in New York wearing an Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2015 tuxedo. This look just oozed glamour and Nicole made it look effortless. Stana Katic really brought the WOW factor to the red carpet at the Peoples Choice Awards to start January off on a major note wearing Carolina Herrera Resort 2015 strapless daisy embroidered ball gown. When so many wear casual and cocktail dresses many will say that Stana was overdressed, and I am included to agree, but when she looks as beautiful as she does then who cares? When Keira Knightley stepped out at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, wearing Delpozo Fall 2014 RTW, I let out a sigh of relief. Keira has not had a very good 2015, which is really disappointing after her amazing run last year. Keira wants to conceal her baby bump, and I can understand that, and this Delpozo has been the best drapery for that bump all year. She looked like a goddess.
After a VERY disappointing 2015, Jennifer Lawrence gave me an amazing look at the Producers Guild Awards wearing a custom Prada gown. This look polarized critics as many did not like the crystal patch on JLaw's stomach. I loved everything about this look. It was elegant, soft, and sweet. All things that I don't necessarily think of when I think of JLaw on the red carpets. Another look from the Art of Elysium's HEAVEN Gala on the list comes from Jena Malone, Lawrences "Mockingjay" costar, wearing a look from Adam Selman's Spring 2015 RTW collection. I have to say that I skipped right over this gown when I scrolled through the pictures of this collection when it was presented last September. Jena breathed life into this pearl accented a-line cap sleeve gown. Her sleek red locks made this look with a real stunner on the red carpet. Finally I have Emily Blunt wearing a custom David Koma cocktail ensemble at the "Into The Woods" London premiere. This cocktail dress is different in its cut and the ombre crystals just added to the look. Natural hair and makeup and simple cream sandals finished off a look that was all about a statement making dress.
