#TIFF2015: "The Danish Girl" Premiere Wish List

Loyal readers know that I only feature a select few men on my red carpet wish lists because for the most part men are really boring on the red carpet. It would get a little monotonous to keep posting black and navy tuxedos from Tom Ford, Armani, & Burberry. Eddie Redmayne is one who is not so predictable, except this past awards season, and since the Oscar campaign is over I am hoping that we will see Eddie return to being one to the best dressed men not afraid to mix things up a little when it come to red carpet menswear. For the TIFF gala premiere of "The Danish Girl" I would love to see Eddie wear this amazing black Givenchy Spring 2016 Menswear tuxedo with dual lined trim piping on the jacket for this premiere. I would pair this look with a crisp white tuxedo shit, a black silk bow tie, and a pair of black patent leather lace-ups to ensure a classic yet slightly edgy look for Eddie on the TIFF red carpet.
Alicia Vikander has been killing it on the red carpet recently and I am super excited to see what she brings to film festival season. As a face of Louis Vuitton I am sure that we will see Alicia wear quite a few LV pieces, and while I am hoping that she doesn't exclusively wear the brand on the red carpet. For the TIFF premiere of "The Danish Girl" I would love to see Alicia wear this cream Louis Vuitton Resort 2015 gown which features gold embroidery on the sleeves and a front exposed zipper. I think that this would be a very chic modern take on a vintage inspired look for Alicia to rock on the red carpet. Finished with a gold Louis Vuitton clutch, a pair of gold sandals, a chic updo, and a red lip would ensure that Alicia puts her best foot forward for this premiere.
Amber Heard has been finding her sexy again after a stint of oversized suits and baggy ensembles on the red carpet over the past year. I am excited to see what Amber will wear for TIFF. Will she go with a sexy Zac Posen gown? A Tom Ford cocktail dress? I personally would love to see Amber wear this ink blue Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2015 Couture jumpsuit. I think that this is a formal look perfect for Amber, who loves a red carpet lady pant. A bold red lip, back sandals, pulled back hair, a silver clutch, and a statement diamond collar necklace would ensure that Amber looks all the part of a movie star on the red carpet.

#TIFF2015: "Into the Forest," "Ville-Marie," & "Endorphine" Premieres Wish List

We haven't seen much of Evan Rachel Wood on the red carpet recently and I am hoping that when "Into the Forest" premieres at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival next month that she rocks the red carpet. I am not going to pull Evan from her comfort zone of black gowns, because she works them so well, but this Elie Saab Resort 2016 gown which features a halter neckline with linear embroidered beading on the bodice and an a-line silk crepe georgette skirt would look so elegantly sexy on Evan. The gown is covered up but the sheerness of the embroidered bodice, the open back and the thigh high slit add just enough sex appeal to make this a drop dead look for a TIFF Premiere. I would finish the look with a pair of black Gucci sandals, a black and gold Edie Parker clutch, a red lip, and a vintage inspired hairstyle to ensure that Evan kills this red carpet premiere.
Monica Bellucci is usually a bit of a snooze for me on the red carpet. The Italian model turned actress is forever loyal to Dolce & Gabbana tends to look the same on every red carpet. I am not expecting much from her at the TIFF premiere of "Ville-Marie" but I think that this red Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015 Alta-Moda off the shoulder sheath dress would be slightly different from the completely covered looks that we are used to seeing on Monica. Now with that being said, if Monica wants to wear her favored sheer black pantyhose with this dress and clodhopper black pumps she should just stick with what she knows best. This look calls for a pair of red pumps (preferably the runway shoes), a red clutch (not 100% necissary), a pair of gold drop earrings and a red lip to ensure that this is something sexy yet refined for Monica on the TIFF red carpet.
We were first introduced to 15 year old actress Sophie Nelisse last year when she burst onto the scene with the film "The Book Thief." We are going to see Sophie present her latest film "Endorphine" at the Toronto International Film Festival. I am excited to see what she will wear because in a time where young actresses are ready to look so mature so quick I am hoping that Sophie will look sweet and age appropriate. I picked this floral embroidered Monique Lhuillier Resort 2016 high low gown with an illusion neckline. I think that this is a perfect look for a 15 year old girl to wear for a movie premiere red carpet during TIFF. A pair of yellow sandals, a pink lip, and some simple earrings would finish this look off perfectly ensuring that Sophie has a look that is event and age approriate.

#TIFF2015: "Trumbo" & "The Lobster" Premieres Wish List

Hi everyone! I am sorry yet again for neglecting the site. I have a bunch of stuff in drafts that is ready to be written but with my move of homes and then my move back to and starting my senior semester of college I have just been so busy that I haven't really had a chance to do any writing. I will keep on top of things for the rest of the year from here on out. Lots of big things coming up in the next few weeks and I am excited to be able to share my thoughts on them with you. The Toronto International Film Festival is one of these events and I am excited to see Elle Fanning is on the excepted stars to appear list for her film "Trumbo." Elle's style has been slowly growing on me, although she is still hit or miss I find myself liking more and more of her choices as she grows up. For this premiere I would love to see Elle wear this sweet Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 RTW floral organza ruffled cocktail dress which features a sheath silhouette with a ruffled mock neck, a floral lace appliqued bib, & flared cuffs. I think this 60s mod style dress is perfect for a 17 year old actress. Finished with a pair of pink pumps & pulled back hair this could be a hit for Elle's red carpet portfolio.
At 70 Helen Mirren still knows how to bring the sexy to the red carpet in a chic and sophisticated way. I am looking forward to seeing what her offerings at the Toronto International Film Festival will be. I picked this indigo Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2016 long sleeve fit and flare dress with a rounded neckline and ankle length hemline. I think that despite being so covered that this dress just exudes sophisticated sex appeal and Helen would make this look just as sultry as the model. A pair of black peep or pointed toe pumps and a pair of diamond cluster earring would ensure that Helen delivers on the "Trumbo" premiere red carpet.
Lea Seydoux is going to be a very busy woman on the promotional tours this fall. "The Lobster," which first premiered at Cannes in May, and "Spectre" are both going to have a lot of stops for the French actress. If anyone can handle the pressure of delivering good look after good look it is definitely going to be Lea. Mostly loyal to Prada and Miu Miu, I am hoping that Lea will step out in other designers as well. Recently if Lea hasn't worn Prada/Miu Miu she has been spotted out in Elie Saab. I am hoping that Lea chooses this tea length Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture embroidered and embellished sleeveless gown for the TIFF premiere of "The Lobster." I think that this elegant offering would look so chic on the French actress who has the grace and elegance to make this look 5x more chic that it was on the runway. A pair of gold Prada sandals and a pink lip would finish this sweet look off perfectly for Lea, who has the potential to win Best Promo Tour, Red Carpet Diva, & Best Brand Ambassador come the End of the Year Style Awards in December.
Rachel Weisz is another that is either hit or miss for me on the red carpet. Her photocall looks at Cannes were amazing but the looks that she picked for the red carpets were just a little lackluster. I would love to see Rachel wearing this dusty rose Balenciaga Resort 2016 strapless midi cocktail dress with flocked detail on the bodice. This simple silhouette is perfect for a red carpet look for Rachel as she is one who doesn't like a fussy red carpet ensemble. Finished with a pair of simple silver sandals, a pair of cluster diamond earrings and a chic updo and Rachel will slay the TIFF red carpet.

#TIFF2015: "Black Mass," "Forsaken," "Families," & "Brooklyn" Premieres Wish List

Dakota Johnson is going to have a busy few weeks come the end of August and the beginning of September. She has two films premiering at the Venice Film Festival then she will jet to Toronto where her film "Black Mass" is going to be presented at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. "Black Mass" is premiering at the festival as a special presentation which means that it most likely wont be as formal a premiere as a Gala. With that in mind it is still a major premiere at a major film festival so couture is expected. I picked this black Chanel Fall 2015 Couture flapper-esque cocktail dress for Dakota to wear on the red carpet because I think that this is a look that she has yet to try out on the red carpet and I do think that she would look amazing in this piece. Dakota attended the New York special presentation on the Chanel Pre-Fall 2015 collection and then wore a Chanel Couture mini dress to this years Met Gala so there is already a standing relationship between the two. I would finish this look off rather simply with a red lip, a wavy bob, simple black Christian Louboutin sandals, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings to keep in that vintage look that the dress holds.
Demi Moore stars alongside Kiefer Sutherland and Donald Sutherland in the film "Forsaken," which has a gala premiere slot at this years Toronto International Film Festival. It has been a hot minute since we have seen Demi on the red carpet and I gotta say that I am looking forward to what she might bring to the red carpet. I picked this black Prabal Gurung Resort 2016 lurex cable jacquard sleeveless gown which features a cable pattern flecked with metallic in an a-line silhouette with a square neckline and tulip high-low hem for Demi to wear for this premiere. It is a simple yet elegant statement for Demi to make on her red carpet return in a designer whom she helped launch the career of. I think that this is just dramatic enough for TIFF without being too over the top. I pray to the hair gods that Demi wears her hair up and back to showcase the neckline of this gown and I will forgive what I am sure will be a pair of boring black pumps worn with this dress.
Former fashion model turned actress Gemma Chan has been working the red carpet scene quite well recently, making splashes representing British designers mostly on her red carpet outings. Gemma will be in Toronto promoting her film "Families" and I can not wait to see what she will wear as it is expecting to be a chic colorful statement. I picked this Mary Katrantzou Resort 2016 'Amsonia" gown. This silk crepe gown features a square neck, front crossing straps and multicolor accordion pleat details coming from the front darts creating a relaxed silhouette perfect for a special presentation premiere. I would further the pops of color with a pink lip, pink sandals, and add a gold clutch for a metallic pop to ensure that no one will dull Gemma's shine.
Rounding out today's first set of wishes for the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival is Saoirse Ronan who will be presenting her film "Brooklyn" in a special presentation slot at the festival. The 21 year old Irish actress definitely marches to the beat of her own drum on the red carpet picking looks that most would fear to wear on the red carpet and I am hoping that she keeps up her avant garde look at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. With that in mind I picked this peacock like Chanel Spring 2014 Couture feathered cocktail dress. I honestly think that this dress screams for Saoirse to wear it on the red carpet and TIFF is the perfect platform to be able to do so. With such a bold dress a simple pair of black sandals, a sleek bun, and fresh faced makeup will ensure that Saoirse knocks this look out on the red carpet.
