2016 Oscar Parties Red Carpet Wish List Part 14

We are close to the end of my Oscar parties wish lists, and we are going to go out strong. Emmy Rossum is always one that I am excited to see on the red carpet and she usually steps out for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, so I am hoping that next Sunday she will be one of the gorgeous women out on the red carpet. I would die to see Emmy wearing this strapless Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture floral embroidered tea length gown. I think that this gown would make for very chic red carpet moment for Emmy on the Vanity Fair red carpet. Old Hollywood waves, a red lip, yellow clutch, a pair of red pumps, and diamond cluster earrings would finish this red carpet look perfectly.
Jennifer Lopez is currently on hiatus from her Las Vegas residency as she judges the final season of American Idol so I am hoping that she will journey to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party giving us life with her red carpet moment. I have been wanting to see Jennifer wearing this silver Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Couture long sleeve embellished gown since it first took to the runway. Since she is not going to the main show why not wear it for the party? I think that this gown mixes classic JLo sexy with high glam which makes it a perfect look for an Oscar night red carpet. Sultry styling via old Hollywood waves pushed over one shoulder, a silver clutch, a pair of silver pumps, diamond cluster earrings, and a red lip would ensure that JLo kills the red carpet.
Lea Michele is one of the celebrity co-chairs for the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Viewing Party and I gotta say that I am kinda not looking forward to seeing her. In the past year or so Lea has not delivered anything on the red carpet that has made me stop and take notice. I would love to see her wearing this ruby red Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture strapless embellished cocktail dress. Lea will most likely show up on the red carpet in some gown but I think that this cocktail ensemble is a perfect look for Oscar night. One can get away with shunning a gown for an Oscar party red carpet if it is avant garde or haute couture. Keeping the styling low key is the most important part of keeping this look perfect. I would have a pair of dyed to match ruby red satin peep toe pumps, a diamond bracelet, red lip, and a pair of diamond drop earrings on hand to ensure that Lea has a wow moment.
After appearing at the Academy Governors Awards late last year and appearing on the cover of the 2016 Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue, I am betting that Rachel Weisz is at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party next Sunday night. Rachel is one that I loved seeing on the red carpet last year and I hope that love continues on Oscar night. I picked this hot off the runway purple velvet Ralph Lauren Fall 2016 RTW strapless gown for Rachel as I think that it would give us a chic modern interpretation of old Hollywood glamour. Classic styling including a chic updo, a red lip, black clutch, a pair of black pumps, and a statement diamond necklace would finish this look off perfectly for Rachel.
Riley Keough brings cool girl chic to every red carpet that she steps onto. I am hoping that the Mad Max: Fury Road actress will be out on the Vanity Fair red carpet next Sunday. I would love to see Riley walking the red carpet in this Altuzarra Fall 2016 RTW sequined red and black handkerchief gown. It would take a woman with a very relaxed type of glamour to make this gown work on the red carpet and Riley has that type of red carpet persona. Blown out waves, a dark red lip, and black pumps would ensure that Riley kills the Vanity Fair red carpet.

"Spectre" London Premiere Wish List

I am super excited to see the latest installment of the James Bond franchise "Spectre" premiere in London on Monday. This has to be one of the premieres that is going to have the best fashion of all of the year. So many of the stars of this film are known for their A+ red carpet style and I am betting that this will be the best dressed premiere of the year. French actress Lea Seydoux is expected to attend the premiere. I LOVE Lea's style and I am almost 100% certain that she will wear either a custom Prada or Miu Miu gown for this red carpet. Since I can't exactly show you a custom gown I went through all of the brands that Lea loves to wear on the red carpet and decided that I would love to see her wear this Elie Saab Spring 2016 RTW black embellished gown with sheer panel on the skirt. I think that this is a classy way for Lea to take on the sheer trend. My wish for her and this gown for a major premiere like London is that she would have a dramatic train added to follow her. A pair of black Christian Louboutin lace "Magicadiva" pointed toe ankle strap pumps, a black Prada clutch, and Chopard cluster diamond earrings are the accessories that I would pair with a vintage inspired updo and a red lip to ensure that Lea delivers the femme fatale style that we are all expecting to see her wear for the "Spectre" premieres.
Naomie Harris got her big break in the last incarnation of the James Bond franchise "Skyfall" and her character is one of the few that is continuing on to be in "Spectre." I have loved watching Naomie become the fashion star that she is over the past 3 years and I can not wait to see what she is going to bring to the red carpet for the "Spectre" premiere in London. I picked this Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 Couture marigold yellow caped draped gown with a uber sexy split up to there for her to wear on the red carpet. I really hope that Naomie gets her hand on this gown, but might be a little bit of a stretch since Naomie has never worn of of Giambattista Valli's couture pieced on the red carpet before (but she has worn his RTW.) I think that this gown with its dramatic train is perfect for the "Spectre" premiere, the added sparkle via the faux embellished ribbon on the neck is a glamorous addition. I would add a pair of gold sandals, fresh faced makeup, an updo, cluster earrings, and a gold clutch to ensure that Naomie can make a best dressed list.
Model Monica Bellucci is making her waves in the acting world and "Spectre" is her latest film. I gotta say I don't have very high hopes for what she is going to wear for this premiere on Monday. Monica basically exclusively wears Dolce & Gabbana for her red carpet appearances, and with very little variation. This black Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2015 RTW simple black 3/4 length sleeve gown with a square neckline is something that Monica would for sure wear on the red carpet. I think that this gown is just blah. It is nothing that we haven't seen on a red carpet time and time again. I am going to hold out a slight hope (and I mean very slight) that Monica will give me something slightly more interesting to the red carpet. I don't picture Monica keeping the teal ribbon belt but I think that it would enhance the look. Paired with a black Dolce & Gabbana clutch, a pair of black Dolce & Gabbana pumps, a red lip, and flowing tresses will give a beautiful look for Monica to wear for the London premiere of "Spectre."
Rachel Weisz is not part of the cast, BUT she is married to Daniel Craig (AKA James Bond), so I am expecting that we will see her playing the plus one role at this premiere. Rachel has been making the film festival rounds lately promoting her latest films "The Lobster" and "Youth," and doing so in fine form wearing some of my favorite looks of hers ever. For this premiere I am predicting that Rachel will wear something that is elegant but not a statement (though for the "Skyfall" premiere she did wear Chanel Couture.) I think that this Vionnet Resort 2016 black and white asymmetrical gown is exactly what Rachel should wear for this premiere. It is sophisticated and statement making but also the perfect look for her to wear as the wife of the star of the movie. Keeping the belt, I would also add a black clutch, a pair of black sandals, a chic updo, and a red lip would endure that Rachel is perfectly dressed for this premiere.
This premiere is a royal premiere and I have read that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge is expected to make an appearance with her husband Prince William. I have only recently been more intrigued by Catherine's style and I am hoping that she will wow me on the red carpet. I am not expecting the Princess to stop and pose for the cameras but I am hoping that she will give us something that photographs herself while she is walking in. This pastel tangerine Emilia Wickstead Spring 2016 RTW "Caroline" ball gown which features a scalloped neckline, an open back with camisole style straps, and a gathered, full skirt. This gown, designed by a British brand, is regal and elegant and I could totally picture the Duchess wearing this for some sort of official function, why not a royal movie premiere? Finish with a gold clutch, gold pumps, a pink lip, and hair worn up would ensure that Catherine has a perfect red carpet moment at this premiere.

2015 London Film Festival: "The Lobster" Premiere Wish List

Next Tuesday (October 13) "The Lobster" will premiere at the 2015 BFI London Film Festival. After a huge reception at the Cannes Film Festival in May I am excited to see what the stars will bring to the red carpet in London. Lea Seydoux skipped out on attending the films premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, and with a full load coming up promoting "Spectre" I am not so sure that she will be in London either. If she does I would love to see Lea step out of her Prada/Miu Miu box and rock this red floral embroidered Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture sleeveless ankle length gown. Lea has been front row at a few of Raf Simons runway presentations for Dior Couture and I think that this would be an amazing break from her Prada/Miu Miu loyalty (though she is the only one with a 100% record of fabulous Prada/Miu Miu gowns.) Finished with a sleek hair, a light pink lip, and a pair of simple silver sandals and Lea would have a perfect red carpet moment.
Rachel Weisz has been having a wonderful red carpet run this year having made some beautiful choices during Cannes and TIFF. For the LFF premiere of "The Lobster" I would love to see Rachel wear this black Antonio Berardi Spring 2016 RTW spaghetti strap gown which is made less than basic by the beautiful crystal detailing down both sides! Rachel has such a banging body and this gown would hug every single one of her beautiful curves. Finish the look with a chic low bun, a red lip, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps would give this look a classic Audrey Hepburn finish for a film festival red carpet.

#NYFF15: "The Lobster" Premiere Wish List

We are going to be seeing quite a bit of Lea Seydoux on the red carpet in the coming months. "The Lobster" is hitting almost all the major film festivals, and she is one of the femme fatale characters in the next Bond film "Spectre." For the New York Film Festival premiere of "The Lobster" I wold love to see Lea wear this white long sleeve Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture cocktail dress with its embellished chainmail-esque overlay. I think that this simple dress is elevated by the chainmail overlay making this look anything but basic. I would keep the styling very clean to keep with the air of the ensemble finishing the look off with a pair of white Christian Louboutin sandals, loose waves, and a light pink lip.
We might actually see a lot of Rachel Weisz on the red carpet over the next few months too for the same reasons as Lea; as Rachel's husband is "Spectre" star Daniel Craig.  NYFF is a more laid back film festival so you wouldn't expect to see stars showing up in show stopping gowns, stunning cocktail ensembles are the norm. With that in mind I picked this black and white asymmetric Antonio Berardi Resort 2016 cocktail dress that is rendered in a variegated striped print and features an asymmetric neckline with a single off the shoulder sleeve, a fitted bodice with a layered blazer design at one side, and a knee length sheath silhouette. The fitted silhouette would show off all of Rachel's stunning curves. Finish with a pair of Christian Loubotuin black sandals, a red lip, and a sleek updo and Rachel would be perfectly dressed for the NYFF red carpet.

#TIFF2015: "Trumbo" & "The Lobster" Premieres Wish List

Hi everyone! I am sorry yet again for neglecting the site. I have a bunch of stuff in drafts that is ready to be written but with my move of homes and then my move back to and starting my senior semester of college I have just been so busy that I haven't really had a chance to do any writing. I will keep on top of things for the rest of the year from here on out. Lots of big things coming up in the next few weeks and I am excited to be able to share my thoughts on them with you. The Toronto International Film Festival is one of these events and I am excited to see Elle Fanning is on the excepted stars to appear list for her film "Trumbo." Elle's style has been slowly growing on me, although she is still hit or miss I find myself liking more and more of her choices as she grows up. For this premiere I would love to see Elle wear this sweet Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 RTW floral organza ruffled cocktail dress which features a sheath silhouette with a ruffled mock neck, a floral lace appliqued bib, & flared cuffs. I think this 60s mod style dress is perfect for a 17 year old actress. Finished with a pair of pink pumps & pulled back hair this could be a hit for Elle's red carpet portfolio.
At 70 Helen Mirren still knows how to bring the sexy to the red carpet in a chic and sophisticated way. I am looking forward to seeing what her offerings at the Toronto International Film Festival will be. I picked this indigo Cushnie et Ochs Resort 2016 long sleeve fit and flare dress with a rounded neckline and ankle length hemline. I think that despite being so covered that this dress just exudes sophisticated sex appeal and Helen would make this look just as sultry as the model. A pair of black peep or pointed toe pumps and a pair of diamond cluster earring would ensure that Helen delivers on the "Trumbo" premiere red carpet.
Lea Seydoux is going to be a very busy woman on the promotional tours this fall. "The Lobster," which first premiered at Cannes in May, and "Spectre" are both going to have a lot of stops for the French actress. If anyone can handle the pressure of delivering good look after good look it is definitely going to be Lea. Mostly loyal to Prada and Miu Miu, I am hoping that Lea will step out in other designers as well. Recently if Lea hasn't worn Prada/Miu Miu she has been spotted out in Elie Saab. I am hoping that Lea chooses this tea length Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture embroidered and embellished sleeveless gown for the TIFF premiere of "The Lobster." I think that this elegant offering would look so chic on the French actress who has the grace and elegance to make this look 5x more chic that it was on the runway. A pair of gold Prada sandals and a pink lip would finish this sweet look off perfectly for Lea, who has the potential to win Best Promo Tour, Red Carpet Diva, & Best Brand Ambassador come the End of the Year Style Awards in December.
Rachel Weisz is another that is either hit or miss for me on the red carpet. Her photocall looks at Cannes were amazing but the looks that she picked for the red carpets were just a little lackluster. I would love to see Rachel wearing this dusty rose Balenciaga Resort 2016 strapless midi cocktail dress with flocked detail on the bodice. This simple silhouette is perfect for a red carpet look for Rachel as she is one who doesn't like a fussy red carpet ensemble. Finished with a pair of simple silver sandals, a pair of cluster diamond earrings and a chic updo and Rachel will slay the TIFF red carpet.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter and Facebook during the 2015 Venice Film Festival, which runs from September 2 to September 12, to keep on top of all the looks that come down the red carpet.

#Cannes2015: "Youth" Premiere Wish List

L'Oreal spokesmodel duties are not the only reason that the always fabulous Jane Fonda will be in Cannes for this years festival. The stunning 77 year old actress is surely going to shut down the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals, remember her Elie Saab Couture gown last year or her Atelier Versace gown the year before, to promote her latest film "Youth." The actress knows how to work this red carpet and she does so with abandon. Since one of my wishes for Jane to wear for her L'Oreal duties was worn by Gabrielle Union to the Met Ball I am praying that Jane gives me what I am praying for on the red carpet. For the press conference and photocall I would love to see Jane wear this Jason Wu Fall 2015 RTW ensemble that consists of a steel blue beaded short sleeve top and grey suiting tapered pants. I think that this is a chic sophisticated timeless look which is perfect for a Cannes Film Festival photocall. For the premiere I have picked something a little more dramatic for Jane to wear. This Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture gown with all over embellishments and embroidery rendered in deep blue and smokey browns is a perfect look for Jane with its long sleeves and rounded cut neckline. A pair of blue Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe pumps and some simple Chopard diamond earrings will ensure that Jane shuts down the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
Just 5 days after premiering "The Lobster" on the croisette Rachel Weisz will join Jane Fonda to promote her second film of the festival, "Youth." Rachel Weisz is one that I have absolutely loved on the red carpet in the past and I am excited for dual premieres at this years festival. For the "Youth" photocall I would love to see Rachel Wear this reddish brown Lanvin Fall 2015 RTW a-line midi dress that features a brown leather harness. This look might be a little warm for Rachel to wear outdoor photocall but they say beauty is pain amrite? For the premiere I am also picking a warmer gown via this Valentino Spring 2015 Couture forest green velvet sleeveless gown which features an embroidered open back and sweeping train. This is such a glamorous gown and moved so elegantly on the runway and I can just imagine what it would look like walking up the stairs at the Palais. A chic low up do with loose curls, a red lip, a gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would just finish this look off perfectly for the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

#Cannes2015: "The Lobster" Premiere Wish List

I don't think that the Cannes Film Festival would be complete without at least one appearance by French actress Lea Seydoux. On Friday May 15, Lea will take to the festival to promote her latest film "The Lobster." I am honestly waiting with bated breath to see what Lea will be bringing to the red carpet. For the photocall during the day I would love to see Lea wear this bubblegum pink Prada Fall 2015 RTW with red lapel details and an aqua blue top. As a brand ambassador for Prada, Lea is one of the few ladies that has a near perfect track record when it comes to the brand on the red carpet. I expected that one, if not both of Lea's looks during the Cannes Film Festival will come from Prada. Finish off the photocall ensemble with chic waves, a red lip and a pair of red pumps to ensure that the look checks all the boxes. For the premiere I am predicting that Lea will wear a custom Prada gown but if I had to pick a runway look for her to wear on the red carpet it would definitely be this Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture nude ball gown. This floral beaded ball gown would look so elegant on Lea who would work this with great aplomb.  A chic low bun, simple earrings, a gold clutch, and a pair off gold sandals would ensure that Lea continues her sophisticated Cannes red carpet run.
"The Lobster" is one of two films that Rachel Weisz is going to be promoting during this years Cannes Film Festival. I was heavily disappointed in the Chanel Couture dress that Rachel wore to the Met Gala this past Monday and I am hoping that we will see her red carpet mojo return quickly for Cannes. I would like to see Rachel try Chanel Couture again for Cannes via this electric blue Chanel Spring 2015 Couture tea length dress which I think would be perfection for a photocall. I would even like to see Rachel wear a modified version of the floral bolero that the dress was paired with on the runway. While I would figure that Rachel would quickly step into a pair of black pumps to finish this look off, I would recommend that she wear a pair of very simple almost naked Saint Laurent "Jane" sandals in black to make sure that she keeps this look breezy for the French riviera. A red lip and simple hair would ensure that Rachel redeems herself from that ugly Met Ball dress. For the premiere I am praying that she will blow me away. I am praying that someone picks up this white Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture strapless goddess gown emblazoned with purple floral details. I think that Rachel would look amazing in this gown and that it would be a perfect look for a Cannes Film Festival premiere. A simple pair of diamond earrings, chic waves, and a pair of silver sandals would ensure that Rachel kills her first premiere during the festival.

'OZ: The Great and Powerful' London Premiere Wish List

The dress that Michelle Williams wore for the LA Premiere of 'OZ: The Great and Powerful' was interesting wasn't horrible but it wasn't amazing. For the London premiere of this film I would love to see her wear this white Giambattista Valli Spring 2013 Couture dress with slights hints of baby pink. I think that this dress is something that Michelle would gravitate to and I think that this would look stunning on her. To complete this look add a silver clutch and a pair of silver sandals, and she will look absolutely fabulous.
Mila Kunis tends to look fabulous and lately she has been wowing me even more than she has before. I think that for the London premiere of 'OZ: The Great and Powerful' I would love to see her in this deep green Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013 dress with a draped detail on one hip. A key piece of this look although would have to be keeping the thin gold belt to keep her waist defined. Complete the look with a gold clutch and black cage sandals and Mila will once again wow me on the red carpet at this premiere!
Rachel Weisz has been giving a more edgy looks to go with the persona of her wicked witch character in 'OZ: The Great and Powerful.' For the London premiere I would love to see Rachel wear this amazing Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2013 black cocktail dress with sexy side cut-outs. Finish the look with a dazzling crystal embellished clutch and some black pumps.

'OZ the Great and Powerful' LA Premiere Wish List

Michelle Williams has really been MIA on the red carpet since awards season last year. The stunning actress who seems to flourish in mod 50s/60s styles and I am excited to see what she is going to wear to the 'OZ: The Great and Powerful' LA Premiere. I think that this black sequined Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 RTW mini dress would be a perfect choice for her for this event. Pair this simple dress with a bold colored pair of pumps and her signature pixie cut and she will wow me.
Mila Kunis was one of my favorites in the awards season run and promotional tour for 'Black Swan' but has been almost lackluster since. To help redeem herself on the red carpet I would have her wear this stunningly simple Calvin Klein Spring 2013 RTW cocktail dress. Mila is a sexy girl who doesn't need those Balmain style flashy dresses to have a sultry high impact red carpet look, This simple dress paired with a pair of gold Jimmy Choo sandals and a gold clutch would leave jaws dropped the world over.
Rachel Weisz has a sense of style that I am perplexed by. When Rachel steps out to promote herself I always find extreme faults with her looks but when she is supporting someone or something else she usually looks spectacular from the pictures that come out of her. I am hoping that she brings her best foot forward for the LA premiere of 'OZ: The Great and Powerful.' This pale dusty pink with black polka dot Nina Ricci Spring 2013 RTW dress would looks absolutely stunning on Rachel. Finish this dress with a pair of pointy toe black satin pumps and a black clutch will be a step in the right direction for Rachel.

2013 Golden Globe Awards Wish List: Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama

Dame Helen Mirren is in her upper sixties and she still knows how to bring it on the red carpet. Last year whilst promoting 'Hitchcock,' the film that has earned her the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama nomination, Helen exclusively wore Dolce and Gabbana for all her red carpet appearances. Each look was a different variation on the black lace with gold embroidery looks that took to the runway during the finale of the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2012 RTW collection. I am hoping to see some different looks from the beautiful seasoned actress which is why I have chosen to want to see her in this peachy Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown. The moment I saw the image of this gown I have been calling it for Helen. I think that this is a perfect gown for her to wear for the Golden Globe Awards. Finish it with gold pumps and a gold clutch and I will fan girl while watching the E! Live From The Red Carpet special.
Jessica Chastain has snagged another Golden Globe nomination for the second year in a row jumping from the Supporting Actress comedy for 'The Help' last year to Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for 'Zero Dark Thirty' this year. I have missed seeing Miss Chastain wearing the designs of Zac Posen so for this event I have chosen to put her in this navy blue Zac Posen Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this gown is something that Jessica would rock without a doubt in an old Hollywood way finishing the look with Veronica Lake wave hairstyle, navy Christian Loubotuin sandals, and some sapphire and diamond jewelry.
Marion Cotillard is my choice to take home the Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama trophy for her role in 'Rust and Bone.' The Christian Dior spokesmodel will undoubtedly wear a Dior gown for the award show and of the gowns that remain from the Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture collection I think that this dove grey and raspberry embellished gown will be her choice. Marion has become very predictable on the red carpet and I believe that without a doubt that this post will become a dream come true. I would finish this look with a pair of silver Christian Dior pumps and some amazing Chopard diamonds.
I have grown to love seeing Naomi Watts on the red carpet, so much that she is featured on the blogs banner image. Since she attended the Cannes Film Festival premiere of 'Madagascar 3' back in May of last year wearing a stunning Marchesa gown she has been back on my radar. For this event for which she is nominated for her work in 'The Impossible' Naomi Should wear this ivory and gold Marchesa Spring 2013 RTW gown. Naomi has a friendship with Marchesa wearing several looks by them last year. I think that this gown is elegant and perfect for the star. Finish off the look with a gold Marchesa clutch, gold Christian Louboutin sandals, and a diamond bracelet she will make best dressed lists across the world.
Rachel  Weisz has had a great red carpet run in 2012 between promoting her own films she also gave some of her best looks whilst playing arm candy for her husband, Daniel Craig. She is nominated for her own work in the film, The Deep Blue Sea,She should wear this stunning Vera Wang Fall 2013 Bridal gown. I think that this gown might be a little too much for the event but why shouldn't Rachel wow us. Finish this look with a gold clutch and gold pumps and she will be a grand slam.

2012 Toronto Film Festival: Premiere Wish List Part Five

Eva Mendes has failed to excite me on the red carpet since her Valentino lace bow accented cocktail dress at last years Critics Choice Movie Awards and I am not holding out hope that she will wow me in Toronto at the Film Festival premiere of her film 'The Place Beyond The Pines.' Because of this I have chosen this blush nude Valentino Resort 2013 gown. It is basically not going to get her on the best dressed list but the meh look will keep her off the worst dressed list. I don't event know how to accessorize this look to make it best dressed worth.
The person that I am expecting to blow me away at the 'The Place Beyond The Pines' Toronto Film Festival Premiere is Rose Byrne. The star had captured my attention last year but really won my hear with her 2012 awards season run of fashion forward unexpected looks like her embellished Elie Saab jumpsuit at the SAG awards and her black sequin draped Vivienne Westwood gown for the Academy Awards. For this premiere I would love to see her wear this elegant blush pink rosette embellished Chanel Fall 2012 Couture gown. Rose has worn some amazing Chanel looks in the past and I think that this gown would just top any look that she has worn in the past. To keep this look fashion forward I would keep it simple with just a silver clutch and some white Louis Vuitton silver cap toe pumps which are a celebrity favorite right now.
I think that the Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture collection will be the go to collection for celebrities that are dressing for the fall 2012 film festival circuit. After wishing to have Kate wear a stunning gold Elie Saab gown for the Venice Film Festival premiere of 'The Reluctant Fundamentalist' I would love to see Kate wear this royal blue flowy top with black tapered pants from the Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture collection for the Toronto Film Festival Premiere. I think that this look is that perfect mix of fashion, elegance, and edge that Kate looks for in a red carpet look. Styled by Rachel Zoe I would see this look with a black Edie Parker clutch and the runway pumps or black Christian Louboutin 'Pigalle' pumps.
Olga Kurylenko is a star that I always love to see the red carpet and even though she has such a great relationship with Elie Saab I think that this classic Chanel Fall 2012 Couture black dress would be the best option for her to wear for the Toronto Film Festival Premiere of the film 'To The Wonder.' I think that this dress is the modern take on the classic Chanel 'Little Black Dress' which is what made the house famous back in the 20's and 30's. I would pair this look with a Chanel black clutch, Chanel black sandals, and some pearl accented Chanel Fine Jewelry.
I always look forward to seeing what Rachel McAdams brings to the red carpet as she has given some amazing avant garde looks including she sheer red lace Marchesa dress that made my best dressed of the year list in 2012. For this premiere of 'To The Wonder' during the Toronto Film Festival I would love to see her wear this deep purple Zac Posen Resort 2013 halter dress with a full skirt. I think that this would be a great choice for Rachel as long as she doesn't wear the brooch as presented on the runway and has her hair pulled back. Add a pair of bejeweled black Rene Caovilla sandals and a silver Judith Leiber clutch to complete this look.
The final actress from 'To The Wonder' that would walk the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival premiere would be Rachel Weisz. The Academy Award winning actress has a host of designers that give her dresses for her red carpet appearance and for this event I would love to see Rachel wear this Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 RTW cornflower blue Jackie O inspired dress. I think that this dress would make Rachel look elegant and sophisticated. I think that this look paired with the runway clutch and broach as well as some silver Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals would just make this look sing and shine like no other.

Best Dressed of the Week Ending 3/17/2012

Well, hello there Rachel. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that Rachel was turning heads in this Jason Wu piece. Lets start of with the cut of the dress; the high neckline balances out the formfitting shape of the dress, which makes it classy-sexy. I also love the asymmetrical hemline and kick, again, sexy but still classy. But my favorite, favorite, favorite part of this ensemble is the bunched knot on the side of her torso. It tricks the eye to make her waist appear even smaller, although she is already gorgeous as is, which is what every woman wants. The color and unique print also contrasts nicely with her skin tone. Since the dress is so bold with the pattern, there's no need to jazz it up with too many colorful accessories and Rachel's pee toed pumps are enough jazz to last the night.
I'll admit, normally, I hate orange, but after seeing Elizabeth debut in this stunning Atelier Versace piece, I'm starting to reconsider my aversion to it. The color is so vibrant and it enhances Elizabeth's blonde and pale skin complexion; I also think that the color makes her look slightly tanner than she normally is due to the underlying color in the design. Now lets talk about this fabulous fit! I'm all for a sexy form fitting dress, but its the strap and the unique neckline. The neckline is almost an asymmetrical modified sweetheart neckline; I'm sure designers would appreciate my innovation in terminology! I also approve of the shoes and the color; since the dress is so bold on its on, it needs an element to tie it together and balance it out.
Va va voom! Lately Elizabeth has been rocking the orange look, and she wears it well. This is such elegant, yet a very modern look. I love how this Elie Saab piece is floor length, but still elongates her stature and makes her look taller; usually I would recommend that if you wanted to look taller in an ensemble, you should wear a piece that hits slightly above your knee cap, but this gown is an exception. The form fitting silhouette is another component that I am loving on this gown. It hugs her curves just enough without being too tight and still retaining it's flowy, elegant quality.
Now, I use to say that outfits like this should only be worn by Olivia Newton John in Grease, but Leslie pulls this outfit off so well that it makes me want to take back that statement entirely! The neckline is honestly phenomenal and shows off just enough cleavage, but not too much. The gold shoulders also adds a nice splash of color in a place that you normally wouldn't expect to see it. And the belt, the belt makes Leslie's waist look tiny tiny and truly transforms this ensemble into an hourglass piece. Last but not least, the fit of this outfit is spot on; the skinny leg shows off how learn her legs truly are. Sarah approved!
I know that on this blog we focus more on the couture and highly glamorous events and ensembles, but this causal outfit was too good not to recognize! I love the snug fitting, simple black tee paired with the skinny jeans tucked into the trendy boots. Now, this patterned coat really makes this outfit look modern and fashion forward. But I want to commend Miranda for adding a bold splash of color in her purse because this outfit needed some color added to it. I have no complaints on this outfit!
Aubrey Hepburn? Oh, its Michelle in Valentino. At first, this was a bit too classic for me, but the more I looked at the details in the dress, the more I started to fall in love with it. First off, the straight pencil skirt is a women's best friend, and for good reasons; pencil skirts elongates the body and also gives an hourglass shape. But now I want to focus on the top, starting with the asymmetrical neckline and the very unique cap sleeve. The layering on both shoulders also adds interesting dimension to the look as a whole. I love the softness that the dress embodies and Michelle reinforces that by pairing it with a nude shoe, which was quite clever.
Although I am slightly disappointing that the First Lady didn't wear the voluminous train, but I'm still thrilled that she went for a modern gown. Firstly, the color is stunning against her chocolate complexion, just stunning. I love the classic off the shoulder v-neck, but I adore the interesting rucheing and bunching at the bust line that extends all the way down her waist. This gives dimension and interesting details for the eye and makes her look thinner. But, Michelle should have traded the gaudy necklaces for a simple diamond piece.
I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and starting to develop a more pronounced appreciation for whimsical designs such as this Cynthia Rowley piece. This trench coat meets bubble dress is nothing like I've seen before, but works nicely on June. It has volume and sass but it doesn't cross the line where it looks like a third grade art project. The high waisted belt brings the entire look together and elongates June so much that she looks much taller and leaner. The mesh of the colors are also remarkable, they are all different, yet they balance and compliment each other. June, good call on the shoes, the dress is already busy enough so a neutral was desperately needed to tie the color palette together.
I've got to say, out of all the looks thus far, I think this ensemble is the most practical everyday look. The floral print on top of the turquoise flowy dress is very modern hippie-chic that I absolutely adore. It's very upbeat, fresh and peppy; however, Kate needs some accessory saving. The pink pee toed pumps that she has on is the wrong shade of the pink in the dress and just looks off. Instead I would've paired this ensemble with some high, strappy metallic sandals. Also, since this whole ensemble screams hippie-chic, why not go all out and style her hair hippie inspired as well? I would suggest long, loose curls with a sassy, retro head band.
The concluding piece of the best dressed looks for the week is Zoe in Alexis Mabille. Now, just because she is last, doesn't mean that this ensemble lacks in any area, because it doesn't. First off, I want to commend Zoe for stepping out of the black pump box that so many celebrities cannot step out of, the metallic pumps are a nice touch to this dress. Now, what really makes this dress so unique is the pattern; it's Native American Indian meets a hippie. The color of the dress is phenomenal and the belt was a smart add to bring more shape to the dress. My only complaint would be the clutch. Zoe, just toss it!
