Runway Report: Tory Burch Resort 2015

Almost every collection (Spring, Fall, Pre-Fall, and Resort) seems like a Resort collection when presented by Tory Burch. They all have a light breezy air about them. The Tory Burch Resort 2015 collection is along the same lines. This collection with its muted tones and classic patterns would not look out of place in resort towns like Cannes or Saint-Tropez. The buttery yellow, cornflower blue, dusty brown, beige, and cream colors of this collection will fly off of racks in stores as they are everyday wearable. This collection is perfect for more casual events and street style and the celebrities that I picture wearing these collection. 60's styles dominated this collection as they have been trending on the runways since Spring 2014 collection started rolling out.

Miranda Kerr to wear the Resort 2014 Collections

Miranda Kerr had the Best Street Style Award in lock last year with several amazing sidewalk style looks this year it seems the stunning Victoria's Secret model has a little competition from Olivia Palermo, Beyonce, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and I have a feeling that it will be a close race to the bitter end. Today I'm going to bring you a few looks that would help boot Miranda up on the Best Street Style list. This blue floral A.L.C. Resort 2014 would be an absolutely amazing pick for Miranda for when she just steps out of her New York City apartment to run some errands like grocery shopping and taking her adorable son Flynn out on a play date. Not one to usually forgo a pair of stilettos I would actually have Miranda wear a pair of black sandals and carry a blue 3.1 Phillip Lim 'Pashli' tote and a pair of oversized sunglasses would complete this amazing look.

In the Resort 2014 collections Marchesa released a contemporary diffusion line named Marchesa Voyage which is designed with the same woman in mind that purchases the luxe evening wear from the main label as well as the Notte by Marchesa (the lower priced evening wear line) at a much more affordable cost to them. Having worn a stunning Marchesa dress at the 2011 Met Gala as a guest of the brand I would say that she is one of the women that they had in mind as a client for this collection especially after seeing this amazing Marchesa Voyage Resort 2014 zipper embellished dress. I could see Miranda wear with a white blazer a pair of white pointy toe Manolo Blahnik pumps and a blue and black Jason Wu 'Jourdan' satchel making the perfect look for running around the city from meeting to meeting as she runs her empire.

In an appearance on 'Good Morning America' earlier this year Miranda Kerr donned a stunning Mary Katrantzou printed pencil dress and looked absolutely perfect for her interview. For that dress Miranda actually did not pick the original runway look as it was extremely covered up and over the top but waited for the commercial version of the dress to come out. This is the very first Resort collection from Mary Katrantzou which shows her much more commercial side. This look presented on her normal Fall or Spring runway would have most likely been completely embellished but this look is just printed silk and would look amazing on Miranda as she runs around New York City promoting herself and Victoria's Secret. In fact I would actually add the same orange Alexander McQueen 'Heroine' handbag and blue pumps that she is pictured wearing in the picture on the left to complete a perfect look for promoting herself.

Last but not least we have another favorite look from all the Resort 2014 collections, this one courtosey of Peter Pilotto. Why is this one of my favorites? Well I love the mix of structure, draping, and color blocking as well as the designers rare departure from mixed media prints. This is another great look for Miranda to wear as she runs around the city from business meeting to business meeting. This is a very professional look which Miranda pulls off like anything else that she wears. A pair of white pointy toe Manolo Blahnik pumps and a blue Prada 'Pyramid Accordion'  frame bag would be the perfect finishing touches to this amazing look.

2013 Cannes Film Festival: Closing Ceremony & 'Zulu' Gala Premiere

The 2013 Cannes Film Festival will come to a close on Sunday May 26th with a glamorous celebrity packed awards ceremony immediately followed by the premiere of 'Zulu.' Mistress of Ceremonies Audrey Tautou, who is sadly missed on the red carpet during the events, will take to the stage to host the awards ceremony. Audrey looked stunning wearing a custom Yiqing Yin gown for the Opening Ceremony, and I am hoping that she will wow again on Sunday. This navy blue Chanel Spring 2012 Couture gown is something that I would love to see Audrey wear as it is classic yet still glamorous and memorable. Finish with stunning diamond jewelry and black peep toe pump and Audrey will meet if not exceed my expectations for her.

At the Opening Ceremony of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, Nicole Kidman took a huge risk wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2013 Couture tea length dress. That risk payed off and I am hoping to see her wow me again on Sunday. This red Valentino Fall 2010 Couture gown has been sitting in the designers archive and I just can not understand why. I think that Nicole would look stunning wearing this 60s inspired gown. The last major red gown moment that Nicole had on the red carpet was her red Balenciaga at the 2007 Academy Awards so she is LONG overdue for another. A rockabilly inspired updo, a red clutch, red sandals, and stunning Chopard diamond earrings would be the perfect toppings to this amazing gown.

Finally we have the final wish for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Miranda Kerr will most likely be in attendance at the Closing Ceremony of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival as her husband, Orlando Bloom, is one of the stars of 'Zulu' which will be the closing film of the festival. Miranda always looks glamorous when she steps out be it to get her divers license renewed, attend a promotional event for Victoria's Secret, or walk a red carpet. For this event I would love to see her wear this amazing cream Naeem Khan Fall 2013 RTW gown. This is a perfect look for someone who will be just attending the event as a plus one but will still allow her to hold her own on the glamorous red carpet. A pair of gunmetal Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals, a gunmetal silver clutch, and sparkling diamond jewelry will have all eyes on her.

Miranda Kerr Street Style Wish List

Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr has the sharpest street style of all of the hollywood types and she always wow's me when she steps out of her apartment to attend meetings, go grocery shopping, or even go to the DMV. Last year Miranda won the Best Sidewalk Style award and is already well on her way yo winning it again this year. Here I have three looks for Miranda to wear as she runs around town doing her day to day activities. Up first we have this brown and orange multi pattern Diane Von Furstenberg Fall 2013 RTW flowy dress. This is the kind of dress I could see Miranda pairing with a bronze belt and a rust colored blazer, her orange Alexander McQueen 'Heroine' bag, and pair of brown suede Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2012 sandals also already in her closet, and of course the required sunglasses. Next we have this autumn tone Jean Paul Gaultier Pre-Fall 2013 patchwork dress. This would be a perfect look for Miranda and her skin and I am praying to see this wish come true. Pair it with her Miu Miu Fall 2012 mustard suede handbag and a pair of beige Prada leather platform cut out slingbacks. And last but not least we have the look that I would most like to see Miranda wear, this amazing Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 RTW maroon sweater and matching sequined skirt would look AMAZING on Miranda. Many would say that this skirt is too flashy for day time but paired with this cashmere sweater and the right accessories this would be the perfect day time look. What are the right accessories? Well searching through items that Miranda already owns I think that the Givenchy 'Antigona' satchel bag and a pair of Tom Ford black velvet and gold snakeskin sandals, and of course a pair of fabulous Stella McCartney retro style sunglasses.

2012 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Dressed of the Year

Creating this years Best Dressed of the Year list was no easy task. The celebrities to take to the red carpet brought the glam, edge, and elegance to everything that they had. With over 35 pages of nominees bestowed from week to week on the blogs Facebook page I had over 1300 looks to choose from. I cut that down to a mere ten which took weeks to be able to do. I present to you without further or do the 2012 Best Dressed of the Year list!

From now until the first of January I will be taking a break from the blog to enjoy the holidays with my family and friends. I want to thank each and every single reader that includes those who are religious loyal followers and those that just pass by. I can not believe how many people that I have reached since starting this blog a year and a half ago! I hope all my readers will continue to follow me into awards season in 2013, there are going to be some amazing posts coming out of that. I have some plans in the works for some new features that I think all my readers will enjoy, but for now I am signing off until the New Year! See you all then!

2012 End of the Year Style Awards: Best Street Style

There was no competition when it came to the winner of 'Best Street Style of the Year.' Miranda Kerr worked the sidewalk, not that way get your mind out of the gutter, like she was walking a runway each and every time that she stepped out. She won over my eyes wearing some amazing looks from the likes of Balenciaga, Victoria Beckham, Erdem, Isabel Marant, and Marni for her everyday looks. And her accessories were always just as amazing including Lanvin pumps, Prada handbags, and RayBan aviators

Best Dressed of the Week Ending 3/17/2012

Well, hello there Rachel. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that Rachel was turning heads in this Jason Wu piece. Lets start of with the cut of the dress; the high neckline balances out the formfitting shape of the dress, which makes it classy-sexy. I also love the asymmetrical hemline and kick, again, sexy but still classy. But my favorite, favorite, favorite part of this ensemble is the bunched knot on the side of her torso. It tricks the eye to make her waist appear even smaller, although she is already gorgeous as is, which is what every woman wants. The color and unique print also contrasts nicely with her skin tone. Since the dress is so bold with the pattern, there's no need to jazz it up with too many colorful accessories and Rachel's pee toed pumps are enough jazz to last the night.

I'll admit, normally, I hate orange, but after seeing Elizabeth debut in this stunning Atelier Versace piece, I'm starting to reconsider my aversion to it. The color is so vibrant and it enhances Elizabeth's blonde and pale skin complexion; I also think that the color makes her look slightly tanner than she normally is due to the underlying color in the design. Now lets talk about this fabulous fit! I'm all for a sexy form fitting dress, but its the strap and the unique neckline. The neckline is almost an asymmetrical modified sweetheart neckline; I'm sure designers would appreciate my innovation in terminology! I also approve of the shoes and the color; since the dress is so bold on its on, it needs an element to tie it together and balance it out.

Va va voom! Lately Elizabeth has been rocking the orange look, and she wears it well. This is such elegant, yet a very modern look. I love how this Elie Saab piece is floor length, but still elongates her stature and makes her look taller; usually I would recommend that if you wanted to look taller in an ensemble, you should wear a piece that hits slightly above your knee cap, but this gown is an exception. The form fitting silhouette is another component that I am loving on this gown. It hugs her curves just enough without being too tight and still retaining it's flowy, elegant quality.

Now, I use to say that outfits like this should only be worn by Olivia Newton John in Grease, but Leslie pulls this outfit off so well that it makes me want to take back that statement entirely! The neckline is honestly phenomenal and shows off just enough cleavage, but not too much. The gold shoulders also adds a nice splash of color in a place that you normally wouldn't expect to see it. And the belt, the belt makes Leslie's waist look tiny tiny and truly transforms this ensemble into an hourglass piece. Last but not least, the fit of this outfit is spot on; the skinny leg shows off how learn her legs truly are. Sarah approved!

I know that on this blog we focus more on the couture and highly glamorous events and ensembles, but this causal outfit was too good not to recognize! I love the snug fitting, simple black tee paired with the skinny jeans tucked into the trendy boots. Now, this patterned coat really makes this outfit look modern and fashion forward. But I want to commend Miranda for adding a bold splash of color in her purse because this outfit needed some color added to it. I have no complaints on this outfit!

Aubrey Hepburn? Oh, its Michelle in Valentino. At first, this was a bit too classic for me, but the more I looked at the details in the dress, the more I started to fall in love with it. First off, the straight pencil skirt is a women's best friend, and for good reasons; pencil skirts elongates the body and also gives an hourglass shape. But now I want to focus on the top, starting with the asymmetrical neckline and the very unique cap sleeve. The layering on both shoulders also adds interesting dimension to the look as a whole. I love the softness that the dress embodies and Michelle reinforces that by pairing it with a nude shoe, which was quite clever.

Although I am slightly disappointing that the First Lady didn't wear the voluminous train, but I'm still thrilled that she went for a modern gown. Firstly, the color is stunning against her chocolate complexion, just stunning. I love the classic off the shoulder v-neck, but I adore the interesting rucheing and bunching at the bust line that extends all the way down her waist. This gives dimension and interesting details for the eye and makes her look thinner. But, Michelle should have traded the gaudy necklaces for a simple diamond piece.

I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and starting to develop a more pronounced appreciation for whimsical designs such as this Cynthia Rowley piece. This trench coat meets bubble dress is nothing like I've seen before, but works nicely on June. It has volume and sass but it doesn't cross the line where it looks like a third grade art project. The high waisted belt brings the entire look together and elongates June so much that she looks much taller and leaner. The mesh of the colors are also remarkable, they are all different, yet they balance and compliment each other. June, good call on the shoes, the dress is already busy enough so a neutral was desperately needed to tie the color palette together.

I've got to say, out of all the looks thus far, I think this ensemble is the most practical everyday look. The floral print on top of the turquoise flowy dress is very modern hippie-chic that I absolutely adore. It's very upbeat, fresh and peppy; however, Kate needs some accessory saving. The pink pee toed pumps that she has on is the wrong shade of the pink in the dress and just looks off. Instead I would've paired this ensemble with some high, strappy metallic sandals. Also, since this whole ensemble screams hippie-chic, why not go all out and style her hair hippie inspired as well? I would suggest long, loose curls with a sassy, retro head band.

The concluding piece of the best dressed looks for the week is Zoe in Alexis Mabille. Now, just because she is last, doesn't mean that this ensemble lacks in any area, because it doesn't. First off, I want to commend Zoe for stepping out of the black pump box that so many celebrities cannot step out of, the metallic pumps are a nice touch to this dress. Now, what really makes this dress so unique is the pattern; it's Native American Indian meets a hippie. The color of the dress is phenomenal and the belt was a smart add to bring more shape to the dress. My only complaint would be the clutch. Zoe, just toss it!
