2015 End of the Year Style Awards: Worst Dressed of 2015

It has come to the time of the year where I really don't enjoy looking back. For the most part 2015 was an amazing year on the red carpet but there were quite a few looks that made me cringe when I saw them. The most painful look I saw on the red carpet this year was when Jane Fonda stepped out on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival wearing a custom Schiaparelli Couture gown for the premiere of her film "Youth." This looked like a cheap Victorian vampire costume and aged Jane many years right away. I couldn't grasp why she looked so terrible since days before Jane was sizzling in an electric blue Atelier Versace gown. The rest of Jane's promotional tour for "Youth" wasn't my favorite but she definitely has some high hope to look up to during awards season.
What would a worst dressed list be without an appearance of Kristen Stewart. I was actually surprised that she showed up in this froufrou satin and lace Chanel Fall 2015 Couture gown on the Venice Film Festival red carpet of her film "Equals." There were actually quite a few looks from that Chanel collection that I would have liked to see KStew wearing. She was further let down by the terribly aging hair and makeup that she paired with her dress.

Another staple of the Worst Dressed list has to be Kim Kardashian-West. I dislike this woman immensely so I might be a little biased but when I first saw this Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2015 Couture gown on the runway I was so excited to see who would snatch it up as it was a glam Studio 54 moment waiting to happen on the likes of Lady Gaga or Rihanna but when Kim got her hands on it she just looked like she was wearing an overly embellished bathrobe. I should sing praised that she wasn't making the dress bulge from the seams like most of her looks that make her look like a stuffed sausage but this really was just a terrible moment.

Probably the most controversial tweet I posted this year was in regards to this canary yellow Atelier Versace Fall 2015 Couture gown that Heidi Klum wore to the 2015 Emmy Awards. I tweeted this look out and said that I wished that Heidi would choose more age appropriate looks. The hate I got back calling me and ageist and a sexist was strong. I will now defend myself. When I saw this look on the runway I was in love; I was picturing a young pop star like Selena Gomez or Taylor Swift wearing this for a music awards show. So color me shocked when Heidi Klum showed up on the Emmy Awards red carpet in it. I found this look to be aging and severely unflattering. That is why she is towards the top of my Worst Dressed of 2015 list.
Britney Spears looked back into her closet from her early years for the style that she wore to the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. I don't even know where to start without how bad this look is. First off let's start with the fit, she looks like a 2lb sausage stuffed into a 1lb shell. Her breasts look like they are screaming to be supported correctly and not to be crushed. Then there is the dated style, if this had been on any of the current pop stars on a stage I don't think I would be having a problem with it but its too short and it looks like a Vegas showgirl costume. The shoes look like cheap prom shoes and the hair and makeup are basic and greasy and aging. All around this is a terrible look.

Following that is Selena Gomez who showed up at a private dinner party at Annabel's in London wearing a Monse Spring 2016 RTW gown that reminded me of very luxe nightgown. I think that this gown could have been great on someone like Rihanna or Ciara or Lady Gaga. These women all have something that Selena doesn't a sexy confidence and sense of diva attitude that is brought to the red carpet. I think that this gown lost all of the luster that it had on the runway on the back of Selena who should go back to Versace as she and Donatella made amazing magic when they were working together.

Solange Knowles was the in-house DJ at the Academy Awards this year. When I heard that she was going to be walking the red carpet I got very excited as Solange usually wears the most amazing clothes, so I was really disappointed when she showed up wearing this tangerine Christian Siriano Fall 2015 RTW gown top and palazzo pants. This look, much like Selena's gown, reminds me of luxurious pajamas. This look was further let down by having the worst hairstyle. To even remotely taking this look to a decent place Solange's hair needed to be sleek in a tight bun.
Moving on to the final group of ladies on the Worst dressed of the Year list. Salma Hayek stepped out on the red carpet at the London Evening Standard Theater Awards putting her breasts on display in an Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2013 gown. Her twins were on full display framed with a dust ruffle. There are only a few women who I could picture pulling this type of look off and they are all very tall women, which Salma is not.

Music Awards shows are usually the source of really bad looks but I can't believe that I have one from all tree of the major awards. I was uber excited to know that Gwen Stefani was going to be walking the red carpet at the American Music Awards but my heart sunk when I saw her in this Yousef Al-Jasmi Spring 2016 Couture black mesh gown. The gown itself isn't terrible but Gwen definitely can do so much better. The look was further let down with the half up/half down hairstyle, heavy cat eye, and nude lip. Gwen has so much potential and this just did nothing to showcase that.

Last but not lease we have Glinda the Good Witch wearing custom Prada on the red carpet at the Met Ball, Kerry Washington. It really pains me to put Kerry on the Worst Dressed list as she is one of my favorite women to see on the red carpet but this pink cupcake just made the 5 foot 4 inch actress look even more petite than the actually is. The emerald green shoes and clutch just added to the feeling that this is a reject costume from The Wizard of OZ.

2015 has been a great year on the red carpet but these are definitely the dark side of what was there, make sure you check back on Friday to see the Best Dressed of the Year list.

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here.

2015 AFI Fest: "Tale of Tales" Premiere WIsh List

Salma Hayek, the first lady of the Kering Group, is expected to take to the red carpet at the 2015 AFI Fest premiere of her film "Tale of Tales." I am predicting that she will keep up her roll wearing Alexander McQueen while promoting this film. I would love to see Salma wear this floral embroidered Alexander McQueen Resort 2016 strapless cocktail dress. Salma is either a hit or miss on the red carpet since she only wears brands under the Kering Group umbrella which can make her a little predictable but I still think that this dress is perfection and Salma would look beautiful. Finish with a pair of gold Sergio Rossi pumps and a gold Gucci clutch will ensure that Salma does all of her husbands brands a good justice.

#Cannes2015: "The Tale of Tales" Premiere Wish List

Alba Rohrwacher made a splash in the fashion world when she stepped out at the 2014 Venice Film Festival wearing Louis Vuitton and Valentino Couture. Since then she has worn Miu Miu during the Tribeca Film Festival and was the guest of Valentino's Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli at the Met Ball last Monday night. I am sure that Alba will bring something amazing to the red carpet come the Cannes Film Festival premiere of "The Tale of Tales" on Thursday. For the photocall we could see Alba in a variety of different designers and while I am betting on Prada, Miu Miu, or Louis Vuitton I would love to see her wear this Valentino Pre-Fall 2015 floral embroidered midi dress. The high neck and bright yet somber colors make this a perfect look for Alba to wear for the photocall. I would pair this dress with a pair of Valentino Fall 2014 Couture lace up gladiator sandals and Alba's signature barely there makeup to ensure a perfect photocall ensemble. For the premiere I am almost 100% certain that Alba will wear Valentino and I would love to see her wear this white gown from the Valentino Sala Bianca New York couture collection. The chic white turtleneck cap sleeved top and delicate embroidered skirt would mix perfectly on the Cannes red carpet. I think that for a Cannes premiere that Alba might step up her hair and makeup. I would finish this look with chic waves, a red lip, a white Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of simple white or gold sandals, these details would give a perfect ensemble for a Cannes Film Festival premiere.
Salma Hayek has had a fall from grace. I used to love all of the looks that Salma would wear on the red carpet but since she has been exclusively wearing the Kering Group set of designers her style has just gone down hill. I was excited to see Salma branch out of that box by wearing an Elie Saab couture gown last month. I am hoping that the Salma that I know and love will be on full display on Thursday as she promotes "The Tale of Tales." I did stick to a Kering brand for Salma for the photocall. I think that this fitted Christopher Kane Fall 2015 RTW pink glitter lightning dress that features a slight A-line silhouette with a jewel neckline, a glitter coating, and an illusion lightning bolt detail at the bodice. I think that this would be a fun look for Salma to wear for this photocall with a pair of nude Gucci pumps and simple hair and makeup as the dress is such a statement in itself. For the premiere that night I would love to see Salma wear another Elie Saab Couture gown. This dark to light red Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ombre silk chiffon gown that features a ruched waistline and a plunging neckline would look stunning on Salma showcasing her fiery Latina personality. This gown would waft down the Cannes red carpet, up the stairs of the Palais de Festivals, and into the Grand Lumiere. Accessorize the look with some stunning Boucheron diamond earrings, a red satin clutch, and a pair of simple red sandals, and finish the look with chic Veronica Lake waves and a red lip. These touches will fish off a look that completely embodies the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

2015 Golden Globe Awards: Amal, Gwyneth, Kate, Kristen, & Salma Wish List

George Clooney is going to be the recipient of this years Cecil B. DeMille award and I am hoping that new wife Amal Alamuddin-Clooney will be on his arm to support him. We all fell in love with Amal during her wedding weekend when she paraded around in designers like Dolce & Gabbana, Stella McCartney, Giambattista Valli Couture, Alexander McQueen, and Oscar de la Renta. I am hoping that we will continue to see her showcase amazing style at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. I am picking this red and black Armani Prive Fall 2014 Couture peplum column gown. I think that this silhouette and color would look absolutely amazing on Amal who has that exotic beauty about her. A chic updo, black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals, a black clutch, and a red lip would ensure that Amal is able to stand her own against all the nominated movie stars.
Gwyneth Paltrow will be on hand Sunday night as a presenter. The actress is no doubt going to me making the rounds as her film "Mortdecai" with Johnny Depp gets its theatrical release on January 23. I am praying that we see Gwyneth bring her certain type of exquisiteness to the red carpet. As she is just a presenter I don't imagine that she will wear an over the top red carpet look. I picked this simple black Boss Pre-Fall 2015 gown with a simple silhouette and an elegant draped chiffon cowel back. I think that this is a perfect gown for Gwyn as she will be able to breath an amazing amount of life into this black gown. A pair of dazzling diamond chandelier earrings, a diamond cuff, hair pulled up into a chic bun, a black clutch, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin sandals would finish this look perfectly for the Golden Globes red carpet.
Kate Hudson had an amazing year last year on the red carpet and I am praying that she will be bringing the same to the red carpets this year. As a presenter I would love to see Kate wear this stunning Chanel Fall 2014 Couture embellished gown. The embellishments on this gown are a mix of crystals, paillettes, and concrete beads. The gown I have heard weighs something like 85 pounds and I think that if anyone could wear this and make it look easy it is Kate. A pair of gunmetal Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps, a gunmetal Edie Parker clutch, and simple earrings are the perfect accessories for this red carpet look. Finish the look with a chic beachy updo and a bright pink lip color will ensure that Kate has an amazing red carpet moment on her hands.
Kristen Wiig tends not to be a favorite of mine when she takes to the red carpet. I am hoping that come Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards, where she will be a presenter, that she gives me a major red carpet ensemble. I picked this Marchesa Pre-Fall 2015 embroidered ribbon lace short sleeve mermaid gown that is rendered in a nylon net and features a mermaid silhouette with a scoop neckline and allover beaded embroidery on a ribbon lace. I think that this gown would look absolutely amazing on Kristen on the Golden Globe red carpet. Keeping the look simple with a pair of basic black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals and simple earrings will finish this look off in a perfect way for Kristen to work on the Globes red carpet.
Salma Hayek will be on hand Sunday night as well as one of the presenters at the Golden Globe Awards. I figure that the first lady of the Gucci Group will wear a custom gown from one of the brands houses like Gucci, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, or Balenciaga. Again as I have said with other stars who I am sure will wear custom I can not exactly predict, though I am predicting Gucci Premiere, what exactly the gown will look like. So instead I picked this Alexander McQueen beaded bodice strapless black gown from Bergdorf Goodman. I know that this is actually highly unlikely but I think that Salma would look stunning wearing this design.

If you want to join the conversation I will be joining Kelly from Dream In Lace with a live Twitter commentary on what all the stars are wearing. So please join me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) at about 5 PM EST for all kinds of fashion ID's and LOTS of snarky commentary.

The 'Savages' LA Premiere

Blake Lively will look amazing no matter what she chooses to wear to the 'Savages' Premiere in LA next week. But I would love to see her wearing this amazing purple Cushine et Ochs Resort 2013 dress. Blake is a girl who likes to show off what she has and she has breasts and legs so she shows them off. She would look amazing showing all that shes got in a glamorous yet sexy way wearing this gown. Add a silver Edie Parker clutch, matching Christian Louboutin peep toes, and then some amazing Lorraine Schwartz diamond bracelets.
Salma Hayek has five designers that she will wear next week: Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Yves St Laurent, and Gucci. Why does she only wear these brands? Well she is married to the CEO of the company that owns each of these brands. Out of all of these amazing brands the one that works best for the stunning Latin beauty is Gucci. I decided to go to the newest collection from Gucci, Resort 2012. I think that this amazing salmon pink gown is perfect for the stunning actress. Add a gold Gucci box clutch and gold strappy sandals with her hair worn up and she would look absolutely amazing.

Cannes Film Festival: Opening Ceremony Gala Screening of 'Moonrise Kingdom'

The opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival brings together actors, actresses, brand ambassadors, mistresses of ceremony. judges, and many more. Berenice Bejo who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the Best Picture winning film (which won Best Picture last year at Cannes) will be acting as this years Mistress of Ceremonies, whose job it is to host the Opening and Closing ceremonies. For her duties at the opening ceremonies I would love to see the actress wear this black embellished Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture gown. It is not secret that Berenice loves her some Elie wearing him exclusively whiles promoting 'The Artist' last year and a handful of times during awards season including to the Oscars. I think that this gown would be stunning on the actress who should wear her hair up and will undoubtedly pair her look with Chopard (a sponsor of the festival) diamond earrings and then add a pair of black peep toe pumps.
Diane Kruger will also be on hand at this event as she is the token red carpet diva judge at this year (an honor bestowed upon Uma Thurman in 2011, Kate Beckinsale in 2010, and Asia Argento, Shu Qi, and Robin Wright in 2009) and she has some big shoes to fill, that I am sure she is only going to make larger. I would love to see Diane don this purple Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture gown for this event. Gaultier himself is a judge so I would not be surprised to see many of his creations on the red carpet throughout the festival and I am sure Diane will wear at least one gown by him. Pair this with a black crystal encrusted clutch, black strappy sandals, statement earrings, and a diamond bracelet and she will be best dressed.
I had to make a wish for Tilda, I mean she is the star of the film that is being shown during the opening ceremony. I crisscrossed between many gowns from great designers such as Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli, and Versace but I ultimately decided upon this tuxedo inspired Stephane Rolland Fall 2011 Couture jacket and skirt ensemble. There are only two women in the world who I think are daring enough to make this look work for them Tilda is one the other is Lady Gaga. I am hoping that Tilda makes use of this for a premiere before it is subjected to become runway to sidewalk wear on Lady Gaga. Tilda should wear this with a pair of bright shoes that match the stitching in an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch (which Tilda is a huge fan of) and a pair of dazzling diamond earrings.

On a side note I am sure that Salma Hayek will attend the opening ceremony she always does but I can not make a wish for her as I am 100% positive that she will wear a custom creation by Gucci Premiere.

2012 Golden Globe Awards Best Dressed

I knew from the moment that Charlize Theron stepped out of her limo that she would be my best dressed, and that is saying a lot, as it was a very very high fashion best dressed red carpet. Charlize stunned in this blush Christian Dior Couture gown with a diamond headband bringing old Hollywood glamour all night long.
#2 is Angelina Jolie in this amazing custom Atelier Versace red and white gown. Now, I have to say that she is only in second by a very slim margin.
Everyone is close on the heels of the one before, and this is one giant best dressed award; the rest of my favorites will be posted in the weekly Best Dressed Album on the Facebook Fan Page. Anyway, following Angie in the 3rd place spot is Jessica Alba is this amazing custom Gucci gown. This really reminds me of vintage 50's and 60's Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga, and Hubert de Givenchy gowns and I could totally picture someone like Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, or Jackie Kennedy wearing this exact same gown back then.
Kate Beckinsale slips into the 4th place position wearing this blush Roberto Cavalli gown. Kate has never met a mermaid gown that she doesn't love, and this is exactly why. Each time she steps out in one, she ends up on someones best dressed list.
The vintage inspired gown was the biggest thing on the red carpet tonight. Here, Natalie Portman wears another pink gown (last year she also wore a pink gown courtesy of Viktor & Rolf) to the Golden Globe Awards this time from her favorite designer, Lanvin. I love this dress, and much like Jessica's gown, I could see Grace Kelly fighting Natalie over this gown.
This was the biggest surprise of the night. Nicole Kidman usually sticks to very classic style dresses when walking on the red carpet, so when I saw her in this mint green Versace Spring 2012 RTW gown, that I would have pictured on someone like Kate Beckinsale or Nicole Richie, I was amazed. However, I will say that Nicole takes my breath away in this gown.
This was another surprise of the night, Dianna Agron wore this amazing lazer cut swan gown from the Giles Spring 2012 RTW collection. This is a very fashion forward gown for the star who favors classic ladylike and sportswear inspired frocks. I love this the imitated lace and everything else about this look.
Here we have a gown that Bianca Jagger and Bridget Bardot would have fought over in the 1960's, but is brought to us in 2012 by Prada on the always stunning Zooey Deschanel. I love that this is a departure from Zooey's normal very girly style to be a very fashion forward moment.
I love a description I read of this burgundy and raspberry Lanvin gown with an eagle belt, and it is high fashion meets Harley Davidson.
And last, but not least, the first lady of the Gucci Group continued her brand ambassador duties by wearing this stunning black and gold custom made art deco Gucci gown. It is very reminiscent of the frocks shown in the Gucci Spring 2012 RTW collection.

Don't forget to check out the rest of my favorites in the Best Dressed of the Week album that will post on the Facebook page on Friday!

2012 Golden Globe Awards Presenter Wish List

I was so excited when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced that Frieda Pinto would be among the presenters at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards tomorrow night that will air live on NBC at 8PM EST and E! will go Live From The Red Carpet at 5PM EST. I will be looking for all my favorite stars and I am really excited to see what Freida wears. I figure she will wear Chanel as she is a huge fan of the brand and she has worn them very times before. I would kill to see her wear this black with a gold and green print gown with puffy sleeves. I know that this gown might not be to everyone's liking but this is something that I would love to see the Indian beauty wearing. Just a pair of gold Jimmy Choo heels would complete this stunning look.
Jessica Biel is either a hit or miss on the red carpet, there is never an in between, and it is usually more misses than hits. Well I want to change that by going to the Fall 2011 Couture collection of one of Jessica's favorite designers, Valentino. I think that Jessica will look stunning in this classic style gown in signature Valentino Red. A black with red leopard print Christian Louboutin clutch, red strappy Jimmy Choo sandals, Harry Winston large diamond cluster earrings and diamond feather bracelet would complete this stunning look.
Mila Kunis is the new face of Christian Dior and I will say that I am really excited for this partnership. This is why I have gone to the Christian Dior Fall 2011 Couture collection to find this brown one shoulder gown. I think that Mila would look stunning in this gown as I think that the color would look stunning against her skin. Just a pair of bronze and black Brian Atwood pumps and Mila's red carpet diva-tude are needed to make this look perfect.
In the middle of last year Nicole Kidman went through a phase where she wore a bunch of Elie Saab dresses and I love her in his designs. So I have decided to recommend to her that this light brown Elie Saab Fall 2011 Couture gown with a peplum him would be the most stunning choice for the Australian beauty to wear to the 2012 Golden Globe Awards tomorrow night. This gown paired with a pair of chocolate brown strappy satin Jimmy Choo sandals would be stunning as long as she takes my advice and doesn't over accessorize.
Reese Witherspoon is drop dead gorgeous and I can not wait to see what she wears tomorrow night. I am making this wish for her to wear this black and white John Galliano Spring 2012 RTW gown. I think that of anyone in the world Reese could pull this off with ease. This paired with a crystal encrusted Christian Dior clutch, black strappy Jimmy Choo sandals with crystal details, and Harry Winston garland earrings and bracelet would complete this best dressed worth ensemble.
Salma Hayek is the first lady of the Gucci Group and wears all their brands religiously for her red carpet appearances and rarely steps outside of those brands. I am going to put Salma in this Bottega Veneta Spring 2012 RTW black and white chiffon gown which is a Gucci Group brand. I have come to only love Salma when she wears Bottega Veneta and Gucci and who knows she may show up in a gown from the Gucci couture collection Gucci Premiere. But to stick with this look I would pair it with a black crystal with a crystal encrusted buckle Judith Leiber clutch, black crystal spike studded Christan Louboutin pumps, and Cartier diamond and onyx earrings and a Cartier panther earrings.

Best Street Style of 2011: Salma Hayek

Salma Hayek receives her second award of the year with Best Street Style of 2011, I sort of give this as an extenuation of her Best Brand Ambassador award as she only wore brands that are in the Gucci Group. The first look we have is a modified for production Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2011 dress. Salma picked up the yellow details in the dress with a Balenciaga Papier A4 Tote and matchy purple Balenciaga sandals finish this stunning head-to-toe Balenciaga look.
After an appearancce on The Late Show with David Letterman, Salma was photographed outside the Ed Sullivan theater in NYC wearing a red Gucci Resort 2012 coat paired with Sergio Rossi pumps.
After landing at LAX, Salma was caught by the paparazzi wearing a Gucci Resort 2012 tank top under a black blazer and back jeans. Salma carried a Yves St Laurent ChYc Cabas Tote
And Salma gave me my second favorite street style look (the Balenciaga was my favorite) when she attended the French Open wearing a Yves St Laurent Spring 2011 RTW Skirt and a Yves St Laurent orange blouse. She paired the ensemble with her Yves St Laurent ChYc Cabas tote and Yves St Laurent wedges.

Best Dressed Brand Ambassador of 2011: Salma Hayek

Now this post may confuse people because there are multiple brands being showcased in the Best Brand Ambassador Award Post. Well this is because all of these designers are part of the Gucci Group, which is owned by Salma's husband, François-Henri Pinault. The Gucci Group consists of Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, Stella McCartney, and Yves St Laurent. She wears as many of these brands throughout the year as possible. For the New York Screening of her film Puss In Boots, Salma choose to wear a dress from the Alexander McQueen Resort 2012 collection. The color looks stunning on Salma and the silhouette is amazing for her.
Of course Salma was on hand at the 2011 Met Gala, which honored the late Alexander McQueen. Salma looked amazing and goddess like in her custom made Alexander McQueen gown. I love the drapery and the rosette embellishment on the hip.
To promote Puss in Boots in Los Angeles, Salma donned the first look from the Bottega Veneta Spring 2012 RTW collection. I love Salma in brown as it does amazing things for her skin tone.
Salma donned another Bottega Veneta Spring 2012 RTW dress for the Puss In Boots Mexican Photocall.
She started her promotions for Puss in Boots all the way back in May during the opening of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival wearing a Gucci Fall 2011 RTW leather dress and floral bolero and paired with matching Yves St Laurent pumps
This was the look that really said First Lady of the Gucci Group. Salma attended the ‘Il Mondo Vi Appartiene’ Dinner during the 54th International Art Biennale at Fondazione Cini in Venice, Italy. The latin beauty looked stunning in a custom made burgundy beaded one shouldered cocktail dress that she paired with a matching Gucci bolero sweater
Salma is one of the few people who have been lucky enough to wear Gucci Premiere, which is the couture collection from Gucci. The actress who debuted the Gucci Premiere line at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and again she wore another gown from the line at this years opening ceremony.
And for the Gucci Award For Women In Cinema Gala during the Venice Film Festival, of course Salma was on hand and looking every part the stunning First Lady she should wearing another Gucci Premiere gown.
