2014 Cannes Film Festival: 'Maps to the Stars' Premiere Wish List

Julianne Moore arrived in Cannes this morning ahead of attending red carpets over the course of the festival. On Monday May 19th, Julianne will be taking to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals to premiere her film 'Maps to the Stars' in competition. I am super excited to see what Julianne will wear on the red carpet. With friends at designers like Givenchy, Tom Ford, Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, and Chanel I am just waiting to see what extravagant creation that Julianne will wear. I picked this pale pink Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 sleeveless gown with crystal embellishments minimizing a deep plunge. I think that this pink would look stunning on Julianne. With her peachy complexion Julianne should not be able to rock this type of color but I think it looks elegant on her. I would finish this look with a gunmetal clutch (to accent the crystals on her bodice), and a pair of gunmetal heels. I would of course pull her hair up into a chic updo so that it won't compete with the embellishments and a bright pink lip to bring a bright pop to the look.

Last year 'Only Lovers Left Alive' premiered at Cannes and shockingly Mia Wasikowska did not attend the the premiere with co-stars Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston. I can confirm that Mia will take to the red carpet on Monday for the premiere of 'Maps to the Stars' with co-stars Julianne Moore and Robert Pattinson. For this premiere I think that this nude Oscar de la Renta Fall 2014 RTW v-neck aline gown with gold floral embroidery would waft down the red carpet so elegantly on the back of Mia. One to shun the big heavy embellished gowns that most pick for this festival I am excited to see what Mia will wear but really needs to be able to hold her own against Julianne. I think that this would be a cute moment for Mia on this international red carpet. A gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and some amazing chandelier earrings would complete this red carpet ensemble.

 Sarah Gadon attended last years Cannes Film Festival in a black and white Giambattista Valli Couture cocktail dress. I am hoping, though she is not confirmed, that Sarah will take to the Croisette to help her co-stars premiere 'Maps to the Stars' next Monday. Picking from Giambattista Valli yet again for Sarah's Cannes red carpet experience I think that this ivory, cornflower blue, and black gown from the Spring 2014 Couture collection would be an amazing option This is a mini dress with a ball skirt layered over with just a slight hint of the uber mini skirt being shown. I think that this gown brings classic class with a modern sexiness which is perfect for a 27 year old actress. Finish this gown with a pair of gold sandals will let this gown do all the talking on Sarah.

2013 Venice Film Festival: 'Tracks' Photocall & Premiere Wish List

Mia Wasikowska used to be one of the people I looked most forward to seeing take to the red carpet but earlier this year she cut her hair and seemed to loose her red carpet mojo. The young actress also skipped out of attending her film premiere of 'Only Lovers Left Alive' during the Cannes Film Festival, so I am hoping to see her take to the big red carpet during the Venice Film Festival. I think that this amazing Valentino Fall 2013 Couture gown with a velvet top and a silk skirt. There are only a handful of actresses in Hollywood would be able to pull off this gown and I do believe that Mia is among that small handful. Just a pair of bronze satin pumps, slicked back hair, and simple makeup and Mia will have the perfect look for her big Venice Film Festival premiere of 'Tracks.'

As I want to keep expanding celebrities red carpet repitorie I have picked a designer that I have never seen Virginie Ledoyen wear on the red carpet. As a jury member of the Venice Film Festival main competition I am certain that we will see Virginie wear several Italian fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Armani, and wished for her Alberta Ferretti. I think that this seafoam green Alberta Ferretti Resort 2014 draped goddess gown is a take back to classic Ferretti designs and I think it would look absolutely stunning on Virginie. I would just pair this gown with a gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and hair worn over one shoulder in classic old Hollywood waves and she will have another winning look for the Venice Film Festival red carpet.

2013 Cannes Film Festival: 'Only Lovers Left Alive' Premiere Wish List

Androgynous beauty Tilda Swinton will be in Cannes for the 3rd year in a row to promote a film on the 25th. This year Mrs Swinton will be premiering a vampire flick 'Only Lovers Left Alive.' I look forward to seeing what the actress will bring to the red carpet because she has such a unique sense of style. For this premiere I have decided to merge to looks for the actress from the Hadier Ackerman Spring 2013 RTW collection. Tilda and Hadier have a long standing relationship and for about two years now she has exclusively worn his designs on the red carpet so it will shock me if she wears another brand. I would take the black silk tuxedo jacket (pictured center) with a printed lapel and pair it with this black and white polka dotted gown paired with black pants for this premiere. While the Cannes Film Festival is all about glamour Tilda is much more of an edgy person and that is what I am hoping that she will bring to the red carpet.

Also staring in 'Only Lovers Left Alive' is another Cannes veteran Mia Wasikowska. Two years in a row Mia has worn deep red/burgundy gowns for this festival and I am not sure if she will stick to it but my guess is that she will. For this premiere I would love to see the 23 year old actress wear this Armani Prive Spring 2013 Couture embellished gown. This may be a stretch because Mia has never worn a strapless gown on the red carpet but I think that she would look absolutely stunning wearing this smoke and red chevron embellished gown. Just add a pair of black peep toe pumps and Mia is ready to take to the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals for her big premiere.

Nicole Kidman has said that she had fallen out of love with fashion until she took a role last year playing iconic actress turned princess Grace Kelly. Since this she has fallen in love with fashion again and has been taking a lot more risks like her McQueen at the Golden Globes or her Oscar de la Renta at an Omega watch gala. This is the gown that is the most out of the box for Mrs Kidman. I would love to see Nicole wear this with a modified to be completely closed necked or just slightly more modest that the runway version for her 45 years of age. A black embellished clutch, black Jimmy Choo sandals, as well as stunning cluster earrings would be the perfect completions to this edgy modern red carpet look for Nicole for the Cannes Film Festival.

2013 Cannes Film Festival: Photocall Wish List 3

During this years Cannes Film Festival Jennifer Lawrence will most likely be on hand for an unofficial photocall for her film 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' which will have sections screened to a select audience during the festival. For the photocall I would love to see the Christian Dior spokesmodel wear this amazing white, black, and houndstooth Christian Dior Fall 2013 RTW dress. Jennifer is not a girly girl, never was and will most likely never be so this sportier design is perfect for her. Complete the look with a pair of red Christian Louboutin pumps and slicked back hair and Jennifer will wow during the festival.

Lea Seydoux, unlike Jennifer Lawrence, is no stranger to the Cannes Film Festival. This year the actress will be presenting her film 'Blue is the Warmest Color' during this years festival. For photocalls in the past Lea has worn mostly Prada but I am wishing for her to wear this amazing white and silver Chanel Spring 2013 Couture tweed dress. This is an iconic style of dress and Lea would look absolutely fantastic wearing this stunning creation by Karl Lagerfeld. Complete this look with a pair of Christian Louboutin silver pumps and her hair up and Lea is set to stand out against the French Rivera as her backdrop.

Added at the last minute Mia Wasikowska will be in attendance at the Cannes Film Festival this year for the third year in a row. While I am most looking forward to the gown that she chooses for the premiere of her film 'Only Lovers Left Alive' I am also looking forward to seeing what she pulls out for the photocall. I would pick this white pleated chiffon Jason Wu Fall 2013 RTW dress with a black belt. To finish off this look just pair it with a pair of Christian Louboutin black peep toe pumps and she will bring the flirty to the terrace for the photocall.

I was almost afraid that this was going to be a year without Tilda at the Cannes Film Festival. Last year her film 'Moonrise Kingdom' opened the festival and she will be back in attendance this year with her vampire film 'Only Lovers Left Alive.' Tilda has exclusively worn Hadier Ackerman for every red carpet appearance for almost two years now so it is a safe bet to make that she will wear the designs of her long time friend during this years film festival. For the photocall I would love to see Tilda wear this black and white patterned blazer paired with a black chiffon blouse and black pants. I am sure that no matter what she wears I will be wowed.

Cannes Film Festival: 'Lawless' Premiere Wish List

Jessica Chastain really let me down at the Met Ball wearing a flat out ugly Louis Vuitton gown, so I am hoping to see one of my new favorite red carpet divas redeem herself at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of her film 'Lawless' in this stunning gold completely beaded Armani Prive Fall 2012 Couture gown. I love Jessica in gold as it looks so natural against her skin tone in the French Riviera's evening sun the gown would sparkle nonstop. I would recommend that she pull her hair back and up, add the runway clutch, and some gold strappy sandals to complete this look.

Now before anyone says anything about the fact I want Mia Wasikowska to wear a cocktail dress for a Cannes premiere should just take a step back and continue to read. I would love to see Mia wear this Rodarte Fall 2012 RTW dress as a gown for the premiere of her film. I think that if this was a gown and had a maroon waistband added to show off Mia's waist that this would be an absolutely stunning red carpet gown for the young star. I would add black peep toe pumps, a grand pair of earrings, and a bracelet to complete this look.

As much as I would love for Diane Kruger to wear nothing but grand couture ball gowns for the entire festival there have to be sometimes that the actress gets a break and gets to let her hair down but still look fabulous. I think that this dusty pink Gucci Pre-Fall 2012 poppy print gown would be amazing on Diane. This gown has a 1920's/30's'70's vibe to it and I think that it would be absolutely stunning on Diane. A gold clutch, gold strappy sandals, and a gold bracelet would be the perfect accessories for this laid back look

Cannes Film Festival: Photocall Wish List

Each day prior to the premiere of the press conference and premiere of each film there is a photocall where stars, directors, and producers gather in front of hundreds of press photographers to take promotional images. The female celebs take this look just as seriously as the actual premiere look because they will both be highly distributed. Eva Mendes is going to be promoting her film 'Holy Motors' and I think that for the photocall for this film I would love to see her wear this deep wine colored Diane Von Furstenberg Fall 2012 RTW dress. I would push the sleeves up to just above the elbows add a pair of gold pumps and some amazing gold earrings.

Even non competition special screening films get photocalls. Jada Pinkett Smith is in the non-competition film 'Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted' and I am sure she will stand at the photocall. I want Jada to wear this amazing military/tennis inspired Victoria Beckham Fall 2012 RTW dress with a pair of gold strappy sandals.

Kirsten Dunst is the person I have chosen to feature to represent the film, 'On The Road' which also features the talent of Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams, and Elisabeth Moss. Kirsten has an amazing sense of style and when it comes to Cannes she usually sticks to her go to designers Chanel and Rodarte but for this photocall I would love to see the actress with this Alberta Ferretti Fall 2012 RTW long sleeve chiffon dress. I think that this is totally withing Kirsten's style and I would pray she wore it. Add simple no fuss hair and a pair of bronze pumps and she is good to go for her press appearance.

Marion will be on hand at the festival to promote her french film 'Rust & Bone.' Marion is a face of Dior so it will not surprise me if that is all we see her wearing whilst at the festival. For the photocall for the film would love to see Marion in this grey flowy Christian Dior Fall 2012 RTW dress. Noe this dress is simple and to keep it from being overly fussy only needs a simple pair of silver strappy sandals to keep the look light and airy.

Now this wish for Mia Wasikowska to wear this stunning orange swirl print Stella McCartney Evening 2012 dress is a bit of a stretch because she is the face of Miu Miu and I would expect her to wear a dress by them but after looking at the runways I would guess that whatever she picks will be from a commercial collection. With that said if she wore this Stella McCartney dress she would definitely stand out amongst her peers who take their stands at the photocalls during the two week festival. I would tell her to pair this look with a pair of orange peep toes and no other accessories as well as she should wear her hair back and up to show off all the details in the dress.

Last but not least we have Tilda Swinton, who other than Diane Kruger is set to have the first photocall of the festival as it is her film 'Moonrise Kingdom' that is opening the festival. I would love to see Tilda wear this beige Hussein Chalyan Fall 2012 RTW dress with a red-orange waist accent. I think that Tilda would kill this dress and I hope she wears it because not many favor this brand and I would be highly disappointed if this dress was swept up by someone like Lady Gaga instead of someone with sophistication like Tilda. Add a pair of pumps that match the red-orange waist detail and she would be set.
