#Grammys 2016: Adele, Carrie, Florence, Nicki, & Taylor Red Carpet Wish List

The Grammy Awards are coming up next Monday and I am super excited for this years red carpet and show. There are so many strong and fabulous women performing, nominated, and attending that I think the red carpet will be an overload of edge and glam. Adele is probably one of the women that I am most looking forward to seeing on the red carpet. The last time Adele was on the red carpet she wore a Valentino Couture floral print cocktail dress, which some likened to grandma's sofa, and people either loved or loathed it. I personally loved this look on Adele. It was the first time that she was seen as a person who could take fashion by storm. For the red carpet on Monday I am sure that Adele will show up wearing a gown or dress custom made for her by her friends at Burberry or Jenny Packham, but if she would pick a gown off the runway I think that this floral black and navy lace Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 RTW gown which is rendered in tulle and features an a-line silhouette with a jewel neckline, ruby and navy floral appliques scattered throughout and a full floor length skirt. I think that this romantic feminine look is perfect for Adele. The cap sleeves and the full skirt just add to the chic romantic sophistication of this gown. Finished with a pair of black sandals, voluminous waves, a red lip, a smoky eye, and diamond cluster earrings would just continue to cement Adele as a fashionista. For her performance of "When We Were Young" during the telecast I would love to see Adele rep a British brand wearing this bronze Ralph & Russo Fall 2015 Couture long sleeve gown which featured an embellished lace bodice and a pleated lamé skirt. I think that this gown fits the mood of the song and I can picture her on the stage behind her microphone with lights beaming off into different directions and autumn leaves projected onto screens behind her. Now is that the set up that is going to happen? I don't actually know but I can picture it in my head.
Carrie Underwood is very hit or miss on the red carpet for me. I tend to think that she is a little more pageant style than red carpet but when she does it right she is really good. I picked this strapless silver white Tony Ward Spring 2016 Couture textured gown which features an asymmetrical high-low hemline, sequin embroidery, and organza ruffles for Carrie to wear on the red carpet for the Grammy Awards on Monday night. It might be a little oxymoronic that I picked this gown after just stating that Carrie tends to look very pageant-y and this gown has the potential to go that direction. I think that if Carrie styles this look correctly that this could be a great red carpet moment. I would add a silver glitter Amanda Pearl clutch, silver Jimmy Choo 'Leslie' sandals, old Hollywood waves, a smoky eye and nude lip to keep this look edgy glam and not toe the pageant line.
Florence Welch and her band The Machine are nominated for five awards at the 2016 Grammy Awards and I am super excited to see what she is going to wear on the red carpet on Monday night. Florence has always been one for me to watch and there are a gaggle of potential designers for her Grammy night ensemble. The two times that Flo has been on the Grammy red carpet she has worn Givenchy Couture, recently she has been wearing a lot of Gucci on the red carpet so she might wear a custom Gucci gown, but I would really love to see Flo wearing this red Valentino Spring 2016 Couture batwing gown which featured delicate embroidery and a drop waist. I think that this gown fits perfectly with Florence's bohemian vintage inspired style and the sheerness of the gown adds the perfect Grammy Awards red carpet edge. A pair of gold sandals, a gold clutch, and fresh faced makeup would finish this look off perfectly for the red carpet.
Nicki Minaj is nominated for 3 awards at the Grammy Awards and I am very intrigued to see what the rapper is going to wear on the red carpet. Last year Nicki was very subdued in a black beaded fringe gown by Tom Ford and she was seated front row at the Givenchy Spring 2016 RTW presentation in New York back in September but I am going in a different direction for her red carpet looks. I picked this gold sequined Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2016 tea length gown which features a plunging neckline, long sleeves, and sheer panels for Nicki because it meshes her attention grabbing antics with classic glamour which I feel has been something that she has been going for a little more of with her red carpet options. Finish the look with a pair of black Givenchy sandals, pin straight slicked back hair, and a red lip to keep this look subtly sexy and chic.
Taylor Swift will be performing one of the songs from her album 1989 that hasn't been nominated to open the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday night and I am excited to see what she will wear on the red carpet prior to her performance. I would love to see Taylor, who is nominated for seven awards, wearing this white and orange Atelier Versace Spring 2016 Couture long sleeve gown which features a crystal mesh sleeve and cutout detail for her red carpet appearance. Taylor has not yet worn Atelier Versace on the red carpet but I think that she would kill the red carpet wearing this type of gown. Since coming out with 1989 and fully transitioning into pop Tay has been experimenting with her red carpet looks and I think that this would be the ultimate culmination of her red carpet transformation. This look combines high glamour with edge, sex appeal, and athleisure which I think would make for a perfect Grammy Awards red carpet look for Taylor. I would have Taylor wearing a pair of orange Versace sandals, carrying a white Edie Parker clutch, and her bob worn pin straight to just punctuate this look perfectly for the Grammy's and for Taylor.

2015 American Music Awards: Nicki Minaj, Miranda Lambert, & Mary J. Blige Red Carpet Wish List

Nicki Minaj has been having a pretty good year on the red carpet and I am actually quite interested to see what she will wear on the American Music Awards red carpet on Sunday night. I think that Nicki has been growing and going for more glamour with a twist than outfits with shock value and I appreciate that. Despite being a muse for Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy I am picking this embellished Alexander McQueen Resort 2016 fitted spaghetti strap gown. This gown probably isn't going to happen but I think that it would be cool but I am thinking that this gown would have to be modified to accommodate all of Nicki's curves. A pair of simple black Givenchy sandals, a black clutch, sleek straight locks, and fresh faced makeup will ensure that Nicki slays the red carpet.
Miranda Lambert often falls plague to the big poufy dress that country stars so often think look great on the red carpet and most of the time I think that Miranda looks like she is trying to hard wearing them on the red carpet. I think this electric blue Georges Hobeika Fall 2015 Couture strapless mermaid gown would look absolutely amazing on the red carpet and on Miranda for the red carpet. We don't get many high glamour moments on the AMA's red carpet but this could be one of the few. A pair of silver sandals, diamond cluster earrings, loose curls and red lip will ensure that this is a perfect moment on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
I dont ever get too excited when I see Mary J. Blige on the red carpet. She rarely delivers something that I find interesting and I am not holding her to much for her look when it comes to the red carpet on Sunday night. I picked this black Brandon Maxwell Spring 2016 RTW strapless gown which has as little visual interests via the layered ruffles on the bodice. I think that just by wearing the designer of the moment that it would help elevate Mary's red carpet look. Keeping the styling simple with a black Edie Parker clutch, a pair of black sandals, a pair of diamond earrings, her signature bob, and a red lip would ensure that Mary makes some sort of an impact on the red carpet.

I am currently looking for feedback from my readers if you wouldn't mind taking a quick six question survey I would be greatly appreciative of that, you can take it by clicking here.

Top 10 Looks from the 2015 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards took place in LA last night and more celebs to the the red carpet and killed it. I will say that before I begin there was almost NO color on this red carpet. There are only two looks on this list that had color. I was slightly disappointed in that but I will say the stars worked monochromatic looks with great abandon. Topping my Best Dressed list is Taylor Swift. The now Pop Princess really took her red carpet style to another level in her custom Elie Saab turquoise sleeveless ball gown with a mini skirt cutaway. Listing these elements this look should have been a total looser but somehow Taylor makes it all work. The aqua earrings and fuchsia sandals just kept this look youthful fresh and modern. This is the kinda statement that I love to see on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards.
Gwen Stefani wore two looks from Atelier Versace last night. With my thirst for color needing to be quenched I picked her stunning red performance gown to be the runner up to Taylor. Her red carpet jumpsuit was amazing (though lacking a bold lipstick), this was the statement that I figured that Gwen would make for the Grammy Awards. For someone not nominated or performing I have to say that Rita Ora really dazzled me in her sparkling custom Prada silver long sleeve pailette covered gown. The human disco ball as she is being called really gave me thirst for a true diva moment on the Grammy carpet. When Rihanna showed up at the Grammy Awards last night her Giambattista Valli Couture ball gown the internet immediately started calling her a couture cupcake or a sugary pink loofah, and I have to agree. I did not like that gown, but when she changed into her black oversized Maison Marigela Spring 2015 Couture double breasted tuxedo that she paired with a dazzling Chopard diamond necklace. This was a chic look. I wanted Rihanna to stray away from this look but I loved this more than her left field ball gown.
I think my biggest shock of the night was how much I loved Nicki Minaj in her custom Tom Ford black gown with its deep plunging neck and beaded fringe skirt. Nicki has been toning down her red carpet style and I have to say that I am loving what she is putting down. Jessie J brought the sheer drama to the red carpet in her Ralph & Russo Fall 2014 Couture gown. I was happy that Jessie paired this gown with black panties instead of the nude ones that the gown was presented with. I got alien queen realness from Jessie. I was happy to see her represent her homeland wearing a British designer, and she did them proud. For her moving performance during the Grammy telecast Katy Perry let the stage be all about her voice wearing an off white Valentino Couture gown from the collection presented to honor the reopening of the NYC Flagship store. I loved how simple Katy kept this look, especially since she showed up on the red carpet in a beaded Zuhair Murad cocktail dress and a Purple wig.
And the last set of ladies were more of the black and white showing that they could be anything but basic. I was not a fan of Lady Gaga on the Grammy Carpet but for her performance with Tony Bennett and the awards photocall I loved the black beaded and feather embellished Brandon Maxwell strapless gown with a Jessica Rabbit v-neck was just lovely. It gave the perfect air for the type of music that Gaga and Bennett have been producing and performing lately. I think the toned down Gaga was exactly what I was expecting to see at the Grammy Awards and she more than delivered for me. The other Tom Ford look on the Grammy red carpet was from Jennifer Hudson. Her minimalistic perfectly tailored strapless white cocktail dress could have been very snooze worthy but thanks to the precision tailoring and expert styling this sang a sultry song on the Grammy Awards red carpet. And last but not least I have to give Anna Kendrick some real credit for totally stepping out of her princess gown and mini dress comfort zone and rocking a perfectly tailored Band of Outsiders tuxedo. Keeping the styling minimal let this amazing look shine, and leaving me wanting more from Anna.

2014 BET Awards Wish List Part 2

Coming off the release of her Vogue cover, where she of course wore Prada, Lupita Nyong'o will take to the red carpet at the BET Awards on June 29th. I would love to see the stunning actress, who has rarely had a misstep on the red carpet since she came on to the scene, wearing this black and white Monique Lhuillier Resort 2014 ensemble with a long sleeved top and high waisted shorts. This is a breezy more casual cocktail ensemble perfect for the BET Awards where big stars show up in cocktail dresses and reality stars go way overboard. I would bring a pop of color to Lupita's red carpet ensemble via a pair of bright metallic blue pumps and a red lip, while toning down her favored blue eye shadow for the night. Should she take my advice she would be well on her way to a Best Dressed Award for her first BET Awards appearance.
Nicki Minaj is nominated for Best Hip-Hop Artist and will be performing come the BET Awards Sunday night. This year we have seen Nicki not just tone down her signature theatrics but be almost downright boring on the red carpet, despite her choices of all Alexander McQueen gowns so far this year. I don't think that this will slow down anytime soon and since I can't see her wearing anymore of the all remaining 3 gowns from the Alexander McQueen Spring 2014 commercial collection I figure she will just have to venture into the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014. I pick this black long sleeve Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2014 gown with a plunging neckline and lace inserts for Nicki to wear on the red carpet. Black pumps, simple jewels, and a red lip would finish this look off perfectly for the awards show on Sunday night.
After her #FreeTheNipple statement at the CFDA Awards I figure we will see a more toned down Rihanna come the BET Awards Sunday night. RiRi is nominated for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and I am really hoping that she rocks the red carpet. This relaxed Balenciaga Resort 2015 ensemble with a white top and black slouchy pants would look stunning on Rihanna who has been rocking black island waves in messy up-dos lately. I would keep this look really simple with just a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps, an edgy diamond earcuff, and a very simple diamond bracelet. A red lip would finish the look off perfectly giving Rihanna a relaxed look perfect for the BET Awards.

2012 Grammy Awards Nominees Wish List: Nicki, Pink, Rihanna, and Taylor

Nicki Minaj is another hard one to predict what she is going to wear. I am hoping that the quirky rapper picks this white one sleeved trench coat dress, with a black bustier and lace slip from Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 2012 Couture collection. I think that this collection is amazing for Nicki, as there are a bunch of Avant Garde looks that I could just see her dying over. With Nicki having an intense love for crazy high platforms, I would pick a pair of black leather and mesh Versace Spring 2012 shoes with a plexi platform.
I think I have found the best mix of Pink's punk style and old Hollywood glamour in this purple-y blue and red paillette encrusted Armani Prive Spring 2011 Couture gown. I think that Pink would rock this gown on the account that she always looks for that girl with an edge look and I think that this gown with its arch peplum detail is perfect for pink. I would recommend a rockabilly hairstyle and some red strappy sandals and just a pair of diamond studs to let the gown do all the talking with the attitude that she would bring to the red carpet are all that she needs.
I will not rest until I see Rihanna wear Atelier Versace. If you have not been following, I have really been on a campaign to get Rihanna to wear Atelier Versace; I have wished for her to wear the brand to the EMA's, AMA's, the Grammy Nominations Concert, and now the Grammy's. Well, here is my next effort by wishing for RiRi to wear this stunning orange gown. I love RiRi in bright colors because it really looks great against her skin tone and her hair. Rihanna would look absolutely amazing in this with just a pair of strappy gold sandals to accessorize her look.
Now many people won't like this wish for Taylor probably because they are all hoping that she is going to stray away from princess-ey gowns to stuff more suited for a mature lady. Well, I don't think that Taylor needs to wear a long sleeved high necked slit-less black gown just yet, I mean she is only 22. I think that this pink, green, and white floral gown would look stunning on Taylor and it is grown up and elegant all in the same step. Now, the thing I would like to see is Tay in less of is those overly sparkly numbers like she is pictured in on the left. Where Taylor can add her signature sparkle is through some amazing diamond bracelets and a sparkly green clutch, all that would be left is to add a pair of gold sandals.

American Music Awards Wish List: J. K, L, M, N!!!

Jennifer Lopez is a DIVA and there is no disputing that. Right now I am pretty sure she could get any designer to lend her clothing to wear on the red carpet because she is on fire. For the 2011 American Music Awards I have chosen this amazing white Givenchy Spring 2012 RTW look. I think that Jennifer should wear it with the sheer panels as presented on the runway. And to complete this look silver Christian Louboutin embellished pumps and a bejeweled clutch would be all this diva needs to work this look.
Katy Perry has a quirky sense of style and that is one of the things I love most about her she is sort of unpredictable. If I choose a gown for her then she will wear a cocktail dress or vise versa. So I have decided to choose this stunning yellow Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture gown. This is from John Galliano's final collection for the house before his infamous anti-semantic rants. I think that Katy Needs to stay true to the dress and wear it at the ankle length and not go floor length as most would. To top this look gold strappy sandals would be the only thing needed to finish this look off.
Kelly Clarkson is take it or leave it when it comes to seeing her on the red carpet. I am hoping that when she takes to the red carpet for the 2011 American Music Awards that she is a hit. I think that if she wears this black, white, and yellow Monique Lhuillier Spring 2012 RTW gown that she will be, She would need to add a pair of silver sandals but as I am almost 100% positive she will wear black pumps and if she must then please let them be peep toe. A great pair of chandelier earrings would add the perfect amount of frost to this hot spring look.
Kelly Rowland has been a hit or miss as well on the red carpet. Playing second best to Beyonce since the breakup of Destiny's Child, Kelly has started to come into her own on the red carpet. The X Factor UK judge and singer has worn Julien Macdonald in the past and rocked it, so I decided to pull from his latest collection for Kelly to wear to the 2011 American Music Awards. This dress is sexy and avant garde and I think the dove grey/silver color would look amazing on Kelly. This looks is edgy as it is but I would add a simple silver tube clutch and some amazing strappy silver Versace Fall 2010 RTW shoes would just make this look PERFECT.
I was not a fan of the new Azzedine Alaia couture collection and if anyone could take to over the top gown and make it work for me it is the Monster Queen herself Lady Gaga. She has worn one look from this collection already and I am hoping to see her in this gown at the 2011 American Music Awards. I know she will add crazy hair or hat and some sky high heels and That is exactly what I want from her in this look.
I have not seen Mary J Blige on the red carpet in such a long time and I am hoping that the Gucci lover decides to take a dress from the Spring 2012 RTW collection. I think that this is a very MJB choice and think that she would look absolutely stunning in it. To finish this look matchy gold clutch and strappy sandals are what I want to see this look paired with.
I have never actually been a fan of Miranda Lambert on the red carpet, why? She has no clue how to dress herself she is always wearing something that is ill-fitting in one way or another. I choose this Betsey Johnson Spring 2012 RTW white peplum dress because I think it is most her style. Footwear is a lost cause with this girl because I already see her wearing heavy black pumps and ruining this look for me. Oh well, NEXT....
Now this is really a stretch, asking Nicki Minaj to sort of me restrained and not covered in cut up stuffed animals. I wish that she would wear this Christian Dior Fall 2011 Couture gown on the red carpet. I can live with her wearing some crazy platform shoes and some giant multi colored Afro if she wore this. But I am already guessing that she is going to disappoint me and be on my worst dressed list.

You can see if any of these wishes come true when the American Music Awards airs live on Sunday Nov 20th at 8pm EST on ABC.

Runway Review: Christian Siriano Spring 2012 RTW

Christian Siriano S/S 2012 from Brad Walsh on Vimeo.

Christian Siriano has taken the avant garde and mixed it with the wearable pieces and amazing shoes for Payless. The former Project Runway winner still has a fan base from the show in Nina Garcia and Heidi Klum whom both sat front row alongside Leigh Lezark, Sarah Hyland, and Corrine Bailey Rae. The collection was suprisingly sort of tame, considering some dub Christian the King of Tulle, which he sort of is and did not disappoint in his amazing gowns. I hope to see a bunch of these looks on the red carpet my top three from the collection are showcased below:

MTV Video Music Awards Wish List: Nicki Minaj

Hey Nicki, you always looks so fly on the RC weather your rocking Givenchy Couture or Mark Fast or Manish Arora. But for this I have given her this black Giles Fall 2011 RTW ensemble. I love the feather/hair/fur trim which I def think that Minaj could wear!!!
Now the top does a lot of talking but I know for sure that these Giuseppe Zanotti boots (first worn by Beyonce to perform at the 2010 Grammy Awards) would be just the perfect top to the perfect look for Nicki.
