2014 Cannes Film Festival: 'Captives' Premiere Wish List

Rosario Dawson will be in Cannes this year not as just a guest but as an actress premiering a film on the Croisette. To premiere her film 'Captives' I expect to see Rosario wear a Roberto Cavalli Couture custom creation, but if I had to pick a runway gown this bronze embellished snakeskin patterned gown from the Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2014 collection would be my pick. I really wish I had access to sketches from designers so that I could more accurately pick for stars on the site, but alas they are kept top secret. This long sleeved, open back gown would be perfect for a Cannes premiere if it was modified to have even more of a flowing train trailing behind Rosario. I would just finish this look with a pair of bronze sandals and a sexy yet elegant hairstyle to complete the perfect look.
Last year Mireille Enos proved that she could hold her own on the red carpet next to red carpet superstars by keeping up with Angelina Jolie on the 'World War Z' press tour. This year she will be joining Rosario Dawson to premiere 'Captives on the same nigh as the gala screening of 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' with Cate Blanchett and Kristen Wiig walking the red carpet. Being a major film festival I think that it is not out of the realm of possibilities that Mireille could pick up this stunning emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture embellished satin ballgown. I love a red head in green and Mireille could rock the hell out of this gown. A glam up-do, a clutch dyed to match, as well as peep toe pumps also dyed to match, and some stunning Chopard diamond and emerald drop earrings would finish off this perfect red carpet look for the Cannes Film Festival.
As this premiere is the same night as the 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' gala premiere, and since I already posted what I want Sofia Coppola and Jeon Do-Yeon to wear on this evening it is only fitting that I produce a wish for Carole Bouquet. I think that this pale pink Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture draped chiffon gown would be a perfect choice for Carole to make. This is the soft elegant gown that I absolutely love to see on the red carpet in Cannes as it is such a light breezy red carpet with beautiful palm trees in the backdrop. A gold box clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and some simple Chopard jewels will finish off this stunning red carpet look.

2014 Cannes Film Festival: 'Coming Home' & 'Foxcatcher' Premieres Wish List

The last time we saw Gong Li at the Cannes Film Festival was back in 2011 when she wowed in a purple Roberto Cavalli Couture creation at that years opening ceremony. This year the Chinese actress will be on hand to present her film 'Coming Home' as a gala screening. I am hoping that Gong reverts back to the days where she walked on to the red carpet and made my jaw drop. She hasn't given me a look to go crazy for in quite some time. I think that this cream Alexis Mabille Spring 2014 Couture halter gown with seafoam embroidery and a seafoam chiffon train. This is a perfect gown for the Cannes Film Festival with its light and breezy air about it. If it is a rainy night this gown would hold up on a rain soaked red carpet and pray its not windy so that things don't start flying everywhere. A gold minaudiere and a pair of gold sandals will finish off this stunning ensemble.
I am hoping that for the Gala premieres that Sofia Coppola will break down and find some amazing couture gowns. I am shocked that this silver/grey Valentino Fall 2013 Couture tea length gown, that features black coral embroidery, has yet to be picked up and worn on a red carpet. I think that this modified to not have such a deep front plunge would be a perfect look for the director who sticks to a very black, white, and grey box. Yet another black clutch, a pair of black sandals, and with this one I would pair a few select diamonds to create this amazing red carpet ensemble.
Another gown from the Fall 2013 Couture collections that I am shocked has not been picked up was this black Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture embellished gown with spaghetti straps. I think that jury member Carole Bouquet would rock this gown on the red carpet with a black tulle wrap. This is an elegant ensemble that many I am sure would die to wear but who will be the lucky lady to actually snatch it up? Finished with a black clutch, a pair of black pumps, and some stunning diamonds provided by Cannes Film Festival sponsor Chopard to ensure that Carole truly embodies the aura of the festival on the red carpet.
On a separate red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival, Sienna Miller will take to the red carpet with co-stars Channing Tatum and Steve Carrell to premiere their film 'Foxcatcher.' While I think that Sienna might wear a bespoke couture gown from one of her go to designers Burberry Prorsum or Erdem, I am really hoping that Sienna will wear this amazing cream colored Chanel Spring 2014 Couture beaded gown. This v-neck column gown is a simple silhouette is perfect for this red carpet. We are bound to see lots of flowing trains and major ball skirts so this would give the more laid back aura of the French Riviera. An elegant set of old Hollywood Veronica Lake waves over one shoulder, a neutral makeup palate with a light pink lip, and a pair of gold sandals will finish off this ensemble.

2014 Cannes Film Festival: Opening Ceremony & "Grace of Monaco" Premiere Wish List

Nicole Kidman will be back in Cannes this year to open the festival will her film 'Grace of Monaco' after serving on the Palme D'Or Jury during the 2013 festival. This Grace Kelly biopic has been much anticipated after not being ready for any of the 2013 film festivals or the 2014 awards season. Some people say that Nicole will start her journey to an Oscar with this premiere. Nicole used to be dressed by the late L'Wren Scott so I am eagerly awaiting what will come to the red carpet on May 15th. I am hoping that she pulls from the Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture collection because since it was presented last July I have been dying for a Nicole Kidman moment. This royal blue sleeveless silk gown is the regal moment that a Cannes premiere about a fashion icon princess is calling for. A wavy up-do, stunning diamond and sapphire cluster earrings, and a pair of blue satin pumps dyed to match would make this look 100% perfect for this red carpet.
Paz Vega is a staple on the red carpet in Cannes, but this year she will most likely grace the red carpet of the Opening Ceremony screening of 'Grace of Monaco' as she is one of the films stars. I have been in love with a few of the gowns from the Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture collection that still have yet to be worn on the red carpet and I am still holding out hope that they will make it off the runway. This beaded cap sleeve mermaid gown has been one that I have been dying to see off the runway but it really needs a grand red carpet to support it and Cannes certainly does. Paz would look absolutely stunning in this design. An elegant vintage inspired updo, gold sandals, and some diamond cluster earrings will make up this absolutely stunning red carpet ensemble.
I am hoping that the 2014 Palme D'Or Jury brings more to the red carpet than their red carpet history presents. Sofia Coppola is one of the ladies on the jury and I have never been wowed by one of her looks so I am hoping that over the 12 day festival that I am able to fall in love with at least one of her looks. For the Opening Ceremony I picked this blueish green, white, and black Louis Vuitton Fall 2014 RTW dress. While the dress would be pretty as it is I would like for Sofia to have this gown lengthened into a full length gown. The sad thing is that new Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere has yet to produce a gown, even for the ladies he dressed for the Met Ball last night. A black Louis Vuitton clutch, a pair of black pumps, and a red lip would give me a jaw dropping look from Sofia on the Cannes red carpet.
The jury member that I am most likely going to fall in love with is Korean actress Jeon Do-Yeon. The star has received awards at Cannes before so and I am praying for some major moments from her over the course of this festival. For the Opening Ceremony I would love to see Jeon wear this ice blue Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture embellished tulle ball gown with a high neck and open back. This is a very bold statement to make for this red carpet, but as they say 'go big, or go home.' Finish the look with a pretty updo, a silver crystal encrusted clutch, and a pair of silver sandals will give this gown the perfect simple touches to let it shine in Cannes.
And the final jury member that might bring a major red carpet moment is Carole Bouquet. The 56 year old French actress and model has a relationship with Chanel having attended events and couture shows hosted by the couture house. For the Opening Ceremony I have chosen this Chanel Spring 2013 Couture black embellished tiered skirt and under the jacket is a sleeveless blouse of the gown. I think that this is a gown that needs a red carpet moment and Carole would be perfect to give it its shining moment. A black Chanel satin clutch, a pair of black satin pumps, and of course a selection of stunning diamonds in her ears and maybe on her wrist will complete this perfect ensemble.
Last but not least I have a wish for Adele Exarchopoulos. Adele is not in the film or on the jury but in the following days of the Opening Ceremony Adele will be presented with the Chopard Trophee and the winners of the Trophee are usually in attendance at the Opening Ceremony, I am also praying that the patron of this years awards (Cate Blanchett) will also be in attendance. Adele has been either love or loathe for me on the red carpet and I am hoping for a major moment from her during Cannes. I think that this black textured Lanvin Fall 2014 RTW midi cocktail dress would make an amazing gown that would make for the perfect red carpet moment for someone who's night it is not yet at the Cannes Film Festival.
