2012 Emmy Awards: 'Glee' Cast Wish List

I hope to still see the 'Glee' girls at the 2012 Emmy Awards even though the show is not nominated for any of the major awards. In fact this year there are many new shows but the problem is that most of the shows are male dominated or the females are not fashionistas. Dianna Agron has turned into a fashionista from someone who only wore Carolina Herrera when she first arrived on the scene. I would love to see the white burned detail hater gown it a is still ethereal whilst being extremely edgy at the same time. A gold confetti Edie Parker clutch, gold strappy Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals, hair worn in a slight curly up do and simple make up would make this look sing.
Jayma Mays has been the unexpected breakout style star from 'Glee' and she has this sweet style and I think that this mint Jackie O-esque Reem Acra Resort 2013 gown would be an amazing look for the style maven. I think that this look that is not strapless and has a nude illusion netting that allows the lace detail to creep up over the top of the sweetheart neckline of the gown to add a very beautiful detail would look amazing against the milky skin tone and red hair that Jayma has. I think that she would work this gown and end up on everyone's best dressed list with only adding simple diamonds and silver strappy sandals or pumps.
Lea Michele is THE red carpet diva from the show and totally works looks that her character 'Rachel Berry' would run away screaming from. Regular readers of the blog will remember that I put this look in a wish list for Lea to wear just after it walked the runway. Now I am going to help the star style this amazing white Atelier Versace Fall 2012 Couture futuristic bustier gown. I think that Lea should keep it simple by carrying a white or silver clutch (no satin), donning a silver pair of t-bar sandals, and then adding an amazing pair of statement sapphire earrings and a small cuff by her go to red carpet jeweler Lorraine Schwartz.
Last year Naya Rivera attend the Emmy Awards and gave us an amazing modern interpretation of Audrey Hepburn in 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' wearing a stunning Loyd Klein gown which was leaps and bounds better than the Simin Couture emerald charmuse puff ball gown with a high slit that was a catastrophe on the 2010 Emmy Awards red carpet. This year I would love to see Naya wear this chocolate bronze Douglas Hannant Fall 2012 RTW strapless gown with a bow accented sweetheart neckline. Add a bronze clutch, black pumps, and some chocolate diamond earrings to complete this look.

2012 ALMA Awards Nominees Wish List

The ALMA Awards celebrates success in Television, Film, and Music. Jennifer Lopez is nominated for her work on American Idol and for her music and I am hoping to see her take a break from her tour for this event and walk the red carpet for this event. Jennifer Lopez has almost exclusively  worn Zuhair Murad for almost all her non-American Idol public appearances this year as well as they exclusively designed all the looks for her tour. So I would not be surprised to see Jenny wear another Zuhair gown for the ALMA Awards. I think that this gold lame Zuhair Murad Resort 2013 gown would be amazing for Jenny. It is not the embellished with crystal, sequins, or feathers look that she tends to grab from them but the gown still shines. Add a pair of gold and black Gucci sandals and a gold clutch and she is red carpet ready.
When it comes to the red carpet Jessica Alba is either a hit or a miss and this year she has really been a hit wearing amazing looks by Gucci, Chanel, Michael Kors, Lanvin, and Versace. I would like to see Jess keep up the great work by wearing this minimalist red and black color-blocked gown from the Narciso Rodriguez Resort 2013 collection with spaghetti straps and side cutouts. I think that this is something that would look absolutely amazing in this modernist gown. Add a black clutch and a black strappy sandals would complete this amazing simple ensemble.
When Naya Rivera first started making red carpet appearances I couldn't even look at her because her outfits were excruciatingly painful, I mean who can forget the can-can streetwalkers quinceanera gown she wore for the 2010 Emmy Awards with the Charo bun? Well since then Naya has really started to wow on the red carpet wearing much more demure and elegant ensembles. One designer that she has discovered is Naeem Khan, who has dressed the 'Glee' star many times this year. I think that for the 2012 ALMA Awards I would love to see Naya wear this black beaded Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2012 gown with a draped back. I think that this is just elegant and sophisticated. Add some amazing splashes of color via of some amazing earring and a clutch an some black strappy sandals.
Selena Gomez is wearing a lot of things lately that are making me question what Justin Beiber is doing to her head. I miss the Selena that gave cute but sophisticated looks not hot pants and bandeau tops. She is nominated for her role in the film 'Monte Carlo' and I am hoping that she revisits youthful and cute for this red carpet with this amazing hot pink Valentino Resort 2013 gown. I think that the simplicity and the cut of this dress as well as the color that make this the perfect youthful choice for the star. Add a hot pink clutch and gold strappy sandals and this look is complete.
Sofia Vergara is an amazing red carpet DIVA, well I don't know if I could say DIVA as she really only sticks to a few designers such as Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, and Marchesa for all her red carpet appearances. Well it has been a while since the sexy voluptuous Colombian actress has worn a gown by Carolina Herrera so I would love to see her wear this dusty purple-ly silver Fall 2012 RTW gown by the designer. I think that the column style of this gown, the neck line, the waistband, and the color would be perfect for Sofia. A gunmetal clutch, sandals, and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry will pull this sultry and sophisticated ensemble.
Last but not least we have probably my favorite wish. Zoe Saldana always wow's me when she dons a gown on the red carpet. For the 2012 ALMA Awards I would love to see her wear this lime green accented black halter gown with side cutouts from the Giorgio Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture collection but was shown as an added bonus when he had a fashion event in Beijing this past May. I think that this gown would be an amazing choice for Zoe who will make this look shine. I would add a pair of black pumps and the matching lime green clutch will finish off this look.

2012 SAG Awards Best Dressed

1) Lea Michele wowed me by wearing a stunning dove grey Atelier Versace Fall 2010 Couture gown, with a thigh high slit. This is such an unexpected look from the 'Glee' star who usually goes for large Oscar de la Renta ballgowns, sculpted Marchesa designs, or glittery Jenny Packham frocks. So needless to say, when I saw the star not wearing something within her comfort zone and totally out of her box of tricks, my jaw dropped. I always pictured this gown on someone like Angelina Jolie, but well, I have to say that Lea works the hell out of this stunning design.
2) Natalie Portman looked absolutely stunning as she made her appearance on the SAG Awards telecast as a presenter wearing a stunning plum colored Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Couture gown with a draped chest ruffle. I think that this looks amazing on her and that it is a great choice for her. This gown makes me think of two gowns, one a pink Rodarte Natalie wore to the 2009 Oscars and a purple gown worn by Amy Adams to the SAG's in 2009 by Giambattista Valli as well. I think that that Natalie totally rocks this dress.
3) Emma Stone took a risk by wearing this tea-length Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 gown with a chest ruffle, and I will say it paid off. There is no real innovation in the styling, as it is the same Alexander McQueen clutch that was paired with the dress in the lookbook, and a pair of ruffled Alexander McQueen black peep-toe pumps. But Emma just has the stature to make this look amazing on her.
4) Viola Davis has started taking risks on the red carpet this awards season, and I believe she is doing this because she actually has a shot of winning (and has won most of the awards sans Golden Globe that she has been nominated for) and knows that her face will be all over the news and magazines holding her award. She won last night, and is all over the media in her stunning white Marchesa gown with golden embroidery and embellishment on the bust. Viola really let the dress do the talking by adding a bronze clutch and a few bracelets. Wind whipped up do completed her amazing look.
5) Emily Blunt blew things out of the water again when she attended the SAG Awards with husband and 'The Office' star John Krasinski. I don't know what it is, but my favorite looks from Emily are not from when she is actually dressing as a presenter or a nominee, but when she is dressing as the arm candy of her husband. She definitely did so wearing this green Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 gown. No one quite does elegant and sexy at the same time like Oscar and I am so excited to see her wear this dress; I thought it was lost forever in the archives as there have been two new collections since this was presented.
6) Baby got back is really all I have to say about Kyra Candlewick's orange halter Emilio Pucci gown with side cutouts. For 46, Kyra looks fantastic in a gown that was most likely intended for a celebrity in her 20's.
7) Naya Rivera looked fantastic and the best she ever has worn is this ice blue Naeem Khan Spring 2012 RTW gown, that she modified to be sleeveless. I think that Naya has finally found a silhouette that works for her, and I hope her days of tacky taffeta ballgowns with thigh high slits are gone. This is elegant and sexy, without being trashy or high school prom which are things that Naya seemed to favor in the past. She let the gown do all the talking by wearing a minimal amount of small style jewelry and not carrying a clutch.
8) Amber Riley completes the 'Glee' girls who made my top 10 at this event. The plus sized actress looked phenomenal wearing this black lace Badgley Mischka cocktail dress with a bow accented bust. I have read lots of criticism of the bow, but I think that it is the best feature on her, as it draws attention to two of her best features and her face. She wisely added a simple black clutch and black peep toe pumps.
9) I don't really know who Emilia Clarke is, but I will say that she looked absolutely stunning last night at the SAG Awards wearing a Chanel Fall 2011 RTW gown with a white top that has puff sleeves and a black feather skirt paired with a black jeweled belt. This is actually a red carpet re-run, Zoe Kravitz wore this gown last year, but I will say that Emilia wears it better; Zoe removed the belt which is desperately needed to complete this look. Messy pulled back hair and red lip color completes this regal look.
10) Rose Byrne also took a huge risk that paid off at the 2012 SAG Awards by wearing this Elie Saab Fall 2009 Couture jumpsuit. Now I can remember celebs trying to wear jumpsuits on this red carpet in the past, but none of them payed off like it has for Rose. This look is amazing, and she accessorized it in the right way by adding a waist band, a Jimmy Choo clutch, and a statement bracelet. These elements created the perfect red carpet approach to wearing this jumpsuit.
