2015 Golden Globe Awards: Michelle, Robin, Ruth, Taylor, Uzo, & Viola Wish List

Today marks the last day of red carpet wishes for the 2015 Golden Globe Award nominees, starting tomorrow will be presenters! We are getting close ladies and gentlemen! Only 4 more days! Michelle Monaghan is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television at Sunday nights awards thanks to her HBO mini-series "True Detective." I was absolutely loving almost everything that Michelle was putting down on the red carpet last year and I am hoping that she keeps up her red carpet mojo during awards season. I picked this dramatic Georges Hobeika Fall 2014 Couture trumpet gown with metallic lace and a portrait neckline for the actress to work as she walks the red carpet. A chic chignon, a light face of makeup, a clutch dyed to match, and a pair of gold pumps would ensure that Michelle makes a major red carpet impact.
Robin Wright is nominated Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her hit Netflix web series "House of Cards," again come Sunday night. Robin has recently brought a minimalist wardrobe in neutrals to the red carpet in all of her ensembles and I am predicting that is not going to change any time soon. Based on that is why I picked this cream Ralph Rucci Spring 2015 RTW crepe silk dress that features sheer mesh panels on the upper arm and just below the knee and a soft v-neckline. I think that Robin would look stunning in this gown really showcasing her mastering minimalism. Gold sandals would be all that I would add to finish this look off for the red carpet for Sunday's Golden Globe Awards.
Ruth Wilson has been slowly growing on me with her red carpet style as time runs on. I am hoping that this pattern continues at Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards where her role in the Showtime breakout hit "The Affair" has garnered her a nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama. Despite the fact that I believe that Robin Wright will ultimately take home the trophy I am hoping Ruth will bring it for the Globes. I picked this navy Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture embellished ball gown with cape like blouse for this red carpet. This is a very dramatic statement for an actress not nominated for film or expected to win in her category to make but I think it is one that Ruth could and would pull off with great aplomb. A wavy bob, a red lip, and a pair of dyed to match navy sandals would make this a perfect red carpet look for Ruth and the Golden Globe Awards.
I have been in love with Taylor Schilling since her first Emmy Awards back in 2013 where she wowed in a custom white hot Thakoon gown. It was her big break into the red carpet world and her steam has not even started to slow. With a nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Comedy or Musical thanks to her hit Netflix web series "Orange Is The New Black" I am hoping that her steam doesn't slow. After donning couture for the 2014 Emmy Awards I think we are setting up to see Taylor wear an even more amazing couture look Sunday night. I would love to see her in this amazing Atelier Versace Fall 2014 Couture one shoulder white gown that features color blocking with black and silver Swarovski embellishments on the bodice and strap. Finish the look with a white clutch, and white sandals covered in crystal embellishments a red lip, a pair of short drop earrings, and a chic up-do will make sure that Taylor wins the night on the red carpet even if she doesn't take home one of the coveted Golden Globes.
Last year was a big year for Uzo Aduba. She won an Emmy and a Critics Choice Award for her role as Crazy Eyes in the Netflix series "Orange Is The New Black" and Sunday night she is nominated, and expected to win, Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television. Uzo also made leaps and bounds on the red carpet, unexpectedly wowing me wearing a vampy red custom Christian Siriano gown at the 2014 Emmy Awards. I am hoping that she brings the same wow to me come Sunday night. I picked this optical white hand beaded Zac Posen Spring 2015 RTW that features a boned bustier bodice, a tonal hand embroidered and beaded panel at the front, an angular construction at the sides and pleating at the back because I think that it is time to see Uzo have a real princess moment. She is not longer a guest star and the spotlight is on her. Finish the look with some stunning statement earrings, a diamond bracelet, a pair of silver pumps, a bold red lip, and slicked back elegant hair to ensure that Uzo has a major moment on the Golden Globes red carpet.
Viola Davis killed, no pun intended, her performance as Annalise Keating in the breakout ABC drama "How To Get Away With Murder." It came as no surprise that she earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for the show. I am praying to the awards gods that she takes home the trophy because I absolutely love her in this show. I picked a bold gown for her to wear as I believe that it will be her big night. This hot pink Ralph Lauren Spring 2015 RTW silk tulle skirted gown with a t-shirt top with stunning necklace style embellishments would make for a wow moment from that actress that has really failed to light my fire as of late. A pink clutch, the runways pink sandals, and a red lip will finish this look off and almost guarantee that Viola will top best dressed lists.

If you want to join the conversation I will be joining Kelly from Dream In Lace with a live Twitter commentary on what all the stars are wearing. So please join me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) at about 5 PM EST for all kinds of fashion ID's and LOTS of snarky commentary.

2014 Emmy Awards: Best Actress in a Comedy Series Nominees Wish List

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is nominated yet again in the Best Actress in a Comedy Series thanks to  her role as Vice President Selina Meyer in the HBO series "VEEP," which has won her the award the past two years. Julia has swept this award each year she has been nominated and the speculation is that she will take it home yet again. I would love to see her doing so wearing this stunning royal blue Reem Acra Resort 2015 gown that features a beaded sheer lace cap sleeve bodice and a flowing chiffon skirt. I think that this is a regal, yet sexy, yet sophisticated look that we haven't yet seen from Julia. She tends to wear her favorite designer, Narciso Rodriguez, for this event and his gowns are all starting to look the same. Especially when on the same person. A simple pair of dyed to match Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals and a pair of simple diamond earrings will finish this look off perfectly, the only other accessory she would need is the Emmy itself.
For the past two years "GIRLS" star Lena Dunham has looked to Muccia Prada to create her Emmy's gown. Her first drab blue lace gown worn for the 2012 ceremony made her look stumpy and frumpy, and last year at the 2013 ceremony the green and orange floral print gown just didn't fit her right and the matchy makeup didn't help. While I don't believe that Lena will wear the short 1920's inspired black Prada Resort 2015 cocktail dress with diamante details that is pictured I do believe that she will wear another custom Prada design. Probably one that hails from the same collection. If I were to turn this cocktail ensemble into a gown for Lena, I would remove the sheer sleeves, yoke, and embellished high neckline leaving a spaghetti strap belted dress and of course have it skim the floor with a slight train trailing right behind it. A pair of her signature black pumps, a black Prada satin box clutch, and a fresh face of natural makeup will ensure that Lena continues to learn how to look her best on the red carpet come the 2014 Emmy Awards.
Last year Best Actress in a Comedy Series nominee Taylor Schilling attended that Emmy Awards as a presenter wearing a white hot custom Thakoon gown that solidified her as a red carpet cool girl. This year though being her very first Emmy nomination, and the favorite to upset Julia Louis-Dreyfus' winning streak, I think that the "Orange is the New Black" star will opt for something much more regal and glamorous. For that reason I have picked the ruby red Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Couture satin draped strapless gown with a train that billows off from the side. I think that this would be the ultimate winning moment whether she takes home a trophy or not. I would pair this look with a pair of gold sandals, a dyed to match satin box clutch, and simple gold jewels to ensure that Taylor looks regal yet effortless. Also she should go light with the makeup because her face doesn't wear it well and she ends up looking way over done. I honestly can not wait to see what Taylor will wear come the 2014 Emmy Awards on August 25th!

2014 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama Wish List

Julianna Margulies is nominated yet again for Best Performance by an Actress in A Television Series Drama for her hit show, 'The Good Wife.' Julianna can give me an amazing red carpet look or one that I really just can not like. I can pray that I will love what Julianna brings to the red carpet next Sunday for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. I think that this black Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture embellished a-line gown with spaghetti straps would look amazing on Julianna who tends to favor black designs with some sort of visual interest on the red carpet. Complete the look with a black satin clutch, a pair of black satin pumps, and some stunning vintage Fred Leighton diamond earrings to ensure that Julianna Margulies makes it onto my Best Dressed list for this event.
A very much pregnant Kerry Washington will take to the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards next Sunday night. The 'Scandal' star has earned a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series Drama for the series, that I must say I just discovered and am truly addicted to. Kerry had a bit of a style bump as her baby bump started to grow at the red of last year and I am hoping that now that the news is out she will embrace the bump and dress to impress on the red carpet for this event. I think that this red Elie Saab Spring 2014 RTW almost sack dress would be a perfect choice. This is the perfect gown to showcase a baby bump in a subtle way as Kerry can hold her bump in her hands to showcase it or just let the fabric drape ever so elegantly over the bump. Finish the look with a stunning pair of statement earrings and for some reason I can see Kerry wearing a pair of metallic orange pointed toe pumps to give a look that I am sure will be loved within fashion circles and much talked about around the world.
The Netflix original series 'House of Cards' has garnered Robin Wright a Best Actress in a TV Drama nomination at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. The stunning actress has really lost her red carpet footing since divorcing ex-husband Sean Penn. Robin used to have stunning moments in Chanel and Elie Saab couture and now almost every appearance sees her wearing baggy pant suits or jeans and a blazer, neither of which are appropriate for the Golden Globe Awards. I think that this emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture gown with no train and three-quarter length sleeves would be the perfect look to help bring Robin back to her top form. I would just pair this with the matching emerald green Elie Saab satin pumps from the same collection and a simple pair of emerald and diamond Chopard earrings to let Robin shine through at the Globes.
Last but not least for today we have a look for first time Golden Globe nominee Taylor Schilling. Taylor has earned her nomination via another Netflix original series 'Orange is the New Black.' When she took took to the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards Taylor looked fantastic in a custom white Thakoon gown and I am hoping to see her love of underrated red carpet designers grow. I think that this white Bottega Veneta Pre-Fall 2014 gown that comes mixed with bronzey sequined patches all over just screams Taylor to me. I think that she is one of the few women in the world that has the glamour and the edge to pull off this gown and it really does deserve a red carpet moment. I would finish the look with a brown Rauwolf octagon gemstone clutch, a pair of nude Casadei leather cage strappy booties, and some very simple drop earrings will make it another extremely successful look for Taylor as she keeps gaining her red carpet footing.

2012 Toronto Film Festival: Premiere Wish List Part One

Keira Knightley will be at the Toronto Film Festival to promote her film 'Anna Karenina' in which she plays the title role. There is a handful of designers that Keira will go to on the red carpet and for this event I would love to see Keira wear this gold brocade Burberry Prorsum Resort 2013 gown. In Toronto it is a much less formal of a red carpet than in Cannes or Venice so I think that this simple column gown would be perfect. I am sure she wont be far from Valentino by adding some nude Valentino pumps and some Chanel infused thru Chanel Fine Jewelry.
Taylor Shilling showed up on the red carpet early this year promoting 'The Lucky One' and will be in Toronto promoting, 'Argo.' I think that the actress should wear this vibrant Peter Pilotto Resort 2013 shift dress for the red carpet premiere of her film. Add a pair of blue sandals and an orange clutch to keep the look fashion forward.
Gemma Arterton showed up on the red carpet circuit in 2010 when she wore a stunning Valentino ball gown for the 'Prince of Persia' London premiere and continued looking amazing on the red carpet up until lately. She has had some unfortunate red carpet looks or just horrible styling. Well I am hoping she turns this all around for her Toronto Film Festival premiere of 'Byzantium.' This psychedelic print in pink, red purples, and silvers is complete beaded which doesn't really show in the pictures but on the video of the runway show the dress glittered all the way down the runway. I think that this color would look amazing on Gemma's tan skin and the silhouette would be simply elegant. Add a light pink satin clutch and a pair of gunmetal silver strappy sandals to keep the focus on the dress.
Also promoting 'Byzantium' will be Irish actress Saorise Ronan. Saoirse always goes for looks that are avant garde and by avant garde designers. Last year at the Toronto Film Festival she donned an archive Rodarte dress for her 'Violet & Daisy' premiere (pictured left) and I would like to see her dip into the current collection for her premiere this year. I think that this burgundy and cream Rodarte Fall 2012 RTW dress that has a flounce hem line paired with a matching burgundy waist band. A black pair of strappy sandals and a black clutch will finish this look off perfectly.
Last but not least for today we have a wish for Halle Berry to wear Badgley Mishka Resort 2013 for the premiere of 'Cloud Atlas.' Halle wears some looks that are sexy and not what one would usually think of for a 45 year old actress. She loves sheer panels, cut outs, low cuts, and extremely low backs. For this premiere I have stayed true to Halle's style by choosing this black sheath dress that have the lingerie inspired top, gold embroidery, and a sheer panel waist. Just pair this look with a pair of gold and black Brian Atwood peep toe pumps and a statement gold cuff to complete the minimalist look.
