2013 Independent Spirit Awards Wish List Part 1

Anna Kendrick is an Independent Spirit Awards red carpet regular attending every year to support the type of film that have made her famous. For this years event, which takes place on Saturday night right before the Oscars on Sunday, I would love to see Anna wear this black satin Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2013 cocktail dress embellished with beads, sequins, and feathers. This is a very 60's mod style dress and I think that Anna would look stunning in this design. I have not had a red carpet home run from Anna in a very long time and I know that she has the potential. One department that she usually lets me down in on the red carpet anymore is the shoe department. She used to have great shoe game wearing statement shoes but has recently been wearing a lot of red carpet standard Giuseppe Zanotti, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Brian Atwood pumps and this disapoints me from the girl who was daring enough to pair a blue and black leopard print Marchesa dress with bold yellow Jimmy Choo sandals just a few short years ago. I would pair this dress with the Gianvito Rossi Spring 2012 collection white and black tuxedo peep toe sandal, no clutch, 60's style hair, and simple jewelry to complete the red carpet look.
The nominees for the Academy Awards usually attend the Independent Spirit Awards the night before their big night to support and cheer on the independent films because this is where a lot of them started their careers and they want to support those that are following in their footsteps. These are a much less formal event lots of cocktail dresses, formal pants and jumpsuits, and flowing maxi dresses. I have decided to put Helen Hunt in this stunning rust colored Roland Mouret Pre-Fall 2013 dress with a lace top and silk skirt. I think that this is an elegant age and event appropriate option for the star that has not had the best awards season run. She has to keep the black waist bad as it keeps this look from looking to dumpy; add a black clutch and some simple black sandals and Helen has a simple winning look which she hasn't had many of this awards season.
Jennifer Lawrence was on a roll of actually making me like some of her red carpet looks around the time of the SAG's but then attended the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon in a Chloe dress that looked like a bath towel wrapped around her with just the up-most horrible styling that I almost wanted to claw my eyes out. Now I have heard that Jennifer has been being styled by Rachel Zoe who's work on Anne Hathaway lately hasn't been thrilling me either, so maybe there is hope but I'm not sure. As a current face of Dior I think that the option of this amazing strapless floral bustier and black tapered pants from the Christian Dior Spring 2013 Couture collection. I think that this would be a look that Jennifer is more comfortable with on the red carpet, as she has stated that she isn't a huge fan of dolling herself up for the red carpet. Finish this ensemble with a pair of black satin Casadei 'Blade' pumps, a black clutch would be the perfect pairings for this look.

2013 Academy Awards: Helen, Jennifer, Jessica, and Naomi Wish Lists

Of anyone that will be attending the 2013 Academy Awards it will be Helen Hunt that will bring us the required Badgley Mischka moment of the evening. The actress nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her work in 'The Sessions,' should wear this amazing silvery grey lace Badgley Mischka Fall 2013 Bridal gown. Most will not understand my I picked a gown from a bridal collection for Helen to wear to the Oscars. Well the answer is simple, it is because this gown is not the bridal white but an unconventional color therefore something that is not going to translate as bridal. Finish this ensemble with a silver Swarovski clutch, silver satin Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe pumps, and some simple Harry Winston or Tiffany & Co. diamonds.
Jennifer Lawrence is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her role in 'Silver Linings Playbook,' and is one of the two favorites to take home the award. Being a Christian Dior spokesmodel I am betting that she will wear the French brand for the big night. I think that this Christian Dior Spring 2013 Couture ballgown is the perfect option for Jennifer but needs some modifications. First and probably the most obvious is to remove the embellished yoke and sleeves as they are truly hideous. The second modification I would make to this dress is to make the gown in a dusty lilac color of another gown that was presented in this collection. I think that changing the color is necessary because if she didn't then she would verge on looking like a lost bride. Finish the look with an embellished silver Judith Leiber clutch, silver Jimmy Choo sandals, and some stunning Chopard diamonds and she will be acceptance speech ready.
After losing to her co-star Octavia Spencer for the Supporting Actress Award at last year's Academy Awards, Jessica Chastain is the favorite to win Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for her work in the Katherine Bigelow film 'Zero Dark Thirty.' After being stuck in ill-fitting suits, blazers, jeans, and t-shirts whilst filming this movie I am sure that she is ready to wear a glamorous gown for the Award show. As she has not busted out an Elie Saab gown to date during the course of awards season I am hoping that she is saving him for her big night. This Elie Saab Spring 2013 Couture gown with black embellishments would be the perfect look for the star. Finish the look with a pair of simple black peep toe Christian Louboutin pumps, Harry Winston jewelery, simple make-up, and side parted Veronica Lake waves.
Naomi Watts rounds out my Academy Awards nominees wish list. The British actress in nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role for 'The Impossible.' Last year almost all of my favorite looks from the star came courtesy of Marchesa. Naomi would look amazing in this blue and gold Marchesa Spring 2013 RTW ball gown. I have been baffled as to why we have not seen any but two looks from the amazing collection that boasted many red carpet worthy gowns. Finish this look with an old Hollywood style up-do, a gold clutch, and some gold Charlotte Olympia pumps and she will make another Best Dressed List appearance.

2013 BAFTA Awards: Nominee Wish List Part 1

Amy Adams has been looking really pretty on the red carpet as of late but in very simple designs. I think that this Roland Mouret Pre-Fall 2013 gown would be absolutely perfect for Amy and the BAFTA Awards. This gown is great for the gold night London weather. Pair this with a black clutch, and some black peep toe pumps and I think she has a winning look on her side.
Andrea Riseborough was one of my Ones to Watch in 2012 after the stunning looks she showcased at the end of 2011 but she really let me down wearing a lot of dumpy looks. The star is being honored with a special rising star award and I am hoping to see her wear something that takes my breath away. This nude leather laser cut Giles Spring 2013 RTW tea length dress would be an absolutely amazing pick for her for this event especially if she modified it into a full length gown. Finish this look with gold Charlotte Olympia pumps and a gold clutch to finish off this edgy look.
I have been having a heard time identifying Anne Hathaway's red carpet style. I feel like she is trying to revert back to her princessy classy choices of the past and I do not feel like they are working with her short hair like the edgy looks that she has been wearing do. Well for the BAFTA Awards I think that this 30's inspired black Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2013 gown would be perfect. Its not the typical 'Anne Hathaway Princess Gown' of the past while not necessarily being extremely edgy either like the looks that I would kill to see her wear are. Finish this look with a black and silver Edie Parker clutch, black sandals, and simple jewels and I may fall in love with my first Anne Hathaway red carpet look in several red carpet appearances.
Elizabeth Olson was another one of my Ones to Watch in 2012 but again she really let me down wearing less than worthy looks that aged her incredibly. For the 2013 BAFTA Awards where she is nominated for Best Young Actress I would love to see the star wear this Chanel Pre-Fall 2013 gown. The black French empire style gown that actually features a pair of black pants incorporated into the look would be a great choice for the star who has shone in Chanel before. Finish this look with a black satin Chanel clutch and some black pumps and I think she will be back on top of my best dressed lists yet again.
When it comes to the red carpet I either love or hate what Helen Hunt wears on the red carpet and on her past few outings I have not been a fan of her looks. I am hoping to see the star redeem herself at the 2013 BAFTA Awards wearing this mauve Badgley Mischka Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this is the simple gown with a twist that Helen goes for normally, the twist being the beaded halter of the gown. A gunmetal colored clutch and matching sandals would be the perfect finishing touches for this look and no jewelry for the star who tends to go overboard with the borrowed bling.

2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards Wish List: Best Supporting Actress

I think that Anne Hathaway is a stunning human being who has been liberated by cutting off her hair for her role in 'Les Miserables' but the star recently has been underwhelming me on the red carpet, especially after all her risky looks towards the latter part of 2012. That this black and white Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 RTW gown would be the perfect choice for Annie. It may not be the edgy Tom Ford that she wore to the New York premiere of 'Les Miserables' but it is not the simple designs that she has been wearing lately either. This gown paired with an Edie Parker gold confetti clutch, black sandals like it was styled on the runway with, and edgy hair like worn to the National Board of Review Awards and I will be happy that Anne got that mojo back.
Helen Hunt was on an elegant role up until the Golden Globe Awards where she ended up on my worst dressed list wearing an ugly Dolce & Gabbana gown. I think that this Naeem Khan Spring 2013 RTW black beaded gown would be amazing for Helen as it is a sexy but demure gown that is age appropriate. Finish this with a black clutch, a pair of black pumps, a pair of diamond earrings, and a diamond and emerald ring to complete the look.
Nicole Kidman has been on a red carpet roll lately wearing a bunch of things that I have been in love with. When being interviewed on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards, Nicole said that she had fallen out of love with fashion but then she started playing the role of Grace Kelly and all of the sudden she was interested again. I am excited that Nicole has fell back in love with fashion because I am in love with her right now. For the SAG Awards I think that the stunning Australian actress would look stunning in this cream lace Elie Saab Spring 2013 RTW gown. I love this amazing gown and Nicole would look sexy and demure all at the same time wearing this gown. Finish this look off with a gold clutch, gold sandals, a gold earrings, and a gold cuff to have a stunning red carpet moment.

2013 Golden Globe Awards Wish List: Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture

Amy Adams is one of the few lucky women whom which Carolina Herrera will lend out clothing too. I think that for the 2013 Golden Globe Awards Amy should wear this black and white graphic Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 ball gown. I think that this gown would look stunning on the pale skinned red head and that she would rock the hell out of this design. Pair it with some black pumps, a silver clutch, a bold pink lip, and some stunning jewelry and Amy is set for success.
Anne Hathaway has been wowing me on the red carpet since the chopping off of her hair for her film 'Les Miserables,' which I believe she will win the Golden Globe for her work in. Anne has been constantly stepping out of the pretty dresses that she has always been known for and wearing some amazing avant garde gowns. A year ago I never would have picked this aqua Atelier Versace Fall 2012 Couture gown, I have said that the likes of Uma Thurman and Laetitia Casta to wear, and now I only can see Anne wearing it. She would finish this look with a silver clutch, silver Jimmy Choo sandals, and some amazing jewelry.
Helen Hunt is stunning at 49 and has already garnered herself a best dressed look for her cream Amen Couture gown that she wore for the 2012 Academy's Governors Awards. For the 2013 Golden Globe Awards I have chosen to put the actress nominated for her film 'The Sessions' in this black and electric blue color blocked David Meister Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this is the perfect option for the star who has an elegant sophisticated classic style. Pair this gown with a black Judith Leiber crystal encrusted clutch, a pair of black strappy sandals, a pair of simple earrings, and a statement bracelet and she is bound to look like the nominated actress that she is.
Nicole Kidman is bound to wear one L'Wren Scott gown on the red carpet this awards season. The stunning Australian actress is not only nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'The Paperboy' but for Best Actress in a Television Movie or Miniseries for her role in 'Hemingway & Gellhorn.' Nicole may pick up a statue for 'Hemingway & Gelhorn' and if she does she will look extremely elegant wearing this black L'Wren Scott Spring 2013 RTW gown with a lace back. The problem that I have with Nicole wearing these gowns is that she seems to pick the current seasons version on the gown that she always wears. She has worn a Nina Ricci gown very similar to this in 2010. Finish this look off with some amazing pierre hardy kitten heels (so that she is not taller than her husband and fellow nominee Keith Urban), a black box clutch, and some stunning Fred Leighton emerald earrings.

2013 Critics Choice Awards Wish List Part 2

Emily Blunt is nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie. The stunning British beauty is a huge fan of French brand Giambattista Valli which is why I have chosen to put her in a red gown from the brands Resort 2013 collection. I think that this gown would look amazing on Emily who is nominated for one lesser known awards and still needs to shine. I think that with her skin and hair color this would be divine. Finish this look with an up-do, a gold clutch, and some gold pumps and she is set to wow at this event.
Helen Hunt has made a red carpet comeback and is nominated for the Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'The Sessions.' For this awards show I have chosen to put Helen in this coral Escada Resort 2013 gown. I think that this gown is regal and glamorous as well as event and age appropriate. Pair this gown with a gold clutch, gold pumps, and a a diamond necklace and she is set to be one of the regal women on the red carpet.
Jennifer Garner is not nominated for any awards at the 2013 Critics Choice Awards but she has been on her husband, Ben Afleck's arm through the promotional tour of his film 'Argo.' She wow'ed me at one of the premieres wearing a red Monique Lhuillier gown, well I found this amazing aqua Monique Lhuillier Spring 2013 gown. Why break up a winning pair if you don't have to? I think that this gown would look amazing on Jennifer and is simple enough to wear and not overshadow and of the nominees. Finish this look with some silver embellished accessories and diamonds and she is complete for the event.
Jennifer Lawrence ended 2012 on a bad note wearing some ugly looks by Christian Dior which she is a new face of. The actress who is nominated for two awards, Best Actress for 'Silver Linings Playbook' and Best Actress in a Action Movie for 'The Hunger Games,' needs to work on her look. I think that this red Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture (Not RTW) gown would look good on her but there can be no train as this event is not that high fashion. Finish with a pair of gold strappy sandals and she is ready to take the world by storm.
