2013 Emmy Awards: Oustanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Wish List

Last year a pregnant Claire Danes walked the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in a lemon yellow Lanvin gown and ultimately took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her hit Showtime show 'Homeland,' for which she holds the same nomination for this year. I am hoping to see Claire really return to top red carpet form after a few dull moments at the White House Corespondents Dinner and the Met Gala. I think that this strapless Atelier Versace Fall 2013 Couture blue embellished gown would be a perfect choice for the elegant blonde star. Claire's first post baby red carpet look came courtesy of Atelier Versace, and it was a total knockout, so I know that the two make a magic pair. Just a simple pair of black or silver sandals as well as some simple diamonds in her ears and on her wrist and Claire will have another winning look on her hands.

This is only the second time that I have featured Connie Britton on this site. It has only been recently that she has started garnering my attention with looks from Zac Posen, Reem Acra, and Black Halo. The star of 'Nashville' is nominated at the 2013 Emmy Awards for her work on the hit show for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and I am hoping that she really steps up on the red carpet and gives me a look to talk about. I think that this white and black Reem Acra Fall 2013 RTW floral print gown would be perfect for her for this occasion. I still can't believe that this gown hasn't been snatched up, especially on Oscar night, I was sure that some celeb would have grabbed it right off the runway. A blue clutch, black sandals, simple diamonds and a red lip would be how I finish this look off to give an attention grabbing Emmy's look.

'Mad Men' star Elisabeth Moss is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series yet again and I am hoping that she will take this opportunity to give us an amazing red carpet look which is something that we have not seen Lizzy give us in a while. I think that this navy blue Elie Saab Fall 2013 RTW gown would be a perfect but simple look with an embellished top. I think that when in doubt pick an Elie Saab creation is the way to go. There have not been a whole lot of looks in three years that I have loved from Elisabeth, the entire 'Mad Men' cast for that matter. Add a blue Edie Parker clutch, a pair of simple navy pumps, and a statement diamond cuff and Elisabeth will have a look that will look elegant and glamorous on the Emmy Awards red carpet.

Kerry Washington is one of the few that could bring the high fashion factor to the red carpet at the 2013 Emmy Awards and I am hoping that she really does. Having been snubbed for her role as Olivia Pope in the hit NBC television show 'Scandal' at the 2012 Emmy Awards, Kerry is nominated this year for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the show this year. I am really looking forward to seeing what she will break out for the occasion. I think that this grey Valentino Fall 2013 Couture ankle length gown with black embroidery in the shape of coral. I am hoping to see her really rock this gown as it is something that I could totally see her rocking this for this event. I would finish this look off with a black Edie Parker clutch, a pair of deep berry satin pumps, and some stunning Chopard dazzlers would complete this amazing red carpet ensemble.

Michelle Dockery has been on and off this year with her red carpet choices. I loved her Alexandre Vauthier gown at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards and her Elie Saab gown at the 2013 White House Corespondents Dinner but I was really disappointed with her Louis Vuitton gown at the 2012 Emmy Awards and her Chado Ralph Rucci gown at the 2013 SAG Awards. I am hoping that Lady Mary from the PBS show 'Downton Abby' will wow on the red carpet next month when she takes to the red carpet for the 2013 Emmy Awards where she has garnered a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. I think that this pink Donna Karan Resort 2014 gown would be the perfect choice for her. When a star steps out in a Donna Karan gown on the red carpet they usually just ooze glamour and sophistication which is the formula that Michelle needs to stick to on the red carpet. A gold Kotur clutch and a pair of gold strappy sandals would complete this amazing look for the 2013 Emmy Awards red carpet.

Back before her divorce from Sean Penn, Robin Wright had moments where I loved her look and moments where I hated it. Since then she really hasn't given me anything to get really excited over or to loathe so I am hoping that the actress, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the Netflix original series 'House of Cards.' I am hoping that she is just saving all her best looks for the Emmy Awards and Awards Season in the spring. For the 2013 Emmy Awards I would love to see her wear this simple white Jason Wu Resort 2014 draped goddess gown. A blue Kotur snakeskin minaudiere, a pair of silver sandals, a statement diamond cuff, and a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings would be exactly what I would do to add a little spice to this glamorous ensemble for Robin for the 2013 Emmy Awards.

Back in 2010 Vera Farmiga worked the awards season circuit nominated for her work in 'Up in the Air' and in most cases looked beautiful. Lately I have really been questioning her choices, well actually ever since she went blonde I have not been a fan of hers on the red carpet. I am hoping that wearing a tried and true formula will help me grow to like her look at the 2013 Emmy Awards. L'Wren Scott is a Hollywood favorite among the likes of Nicole Kidman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Tina Fey, Amy Adams, among MANY others and I am hoping to add Vera to that list this year. This black and gold art deco L'Wren Scott Fall 2013 RTW strapless gown would look absolutely amazing on Vera for this years Emmy Awards where she is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her A&E series 'Bates Motel.' Keep the styling simple with black pumps and a black and gold Jimmy Choo 'Tube' clutch and minimal jewelry and I could potentially love her look at the 2013 Emmy Awards, but we will just have to wait and see.

2013 Cannes Film Festival: 'Behind the Candelabra' Premiere Wish List

All of the major stars of the film 'Behind The Candelabra' are male but star Michael Douglas will hopefully bring his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones to add some Hollywood glamour. I think that this amazing black Ralph Lauren Fall 2013 RTW silk gown. This is a simple subtle look for Catherine as she is not the person the focus of this event is on. Finish with a Salvatore Ferragamo minaudiere, black Christian Louboutin embellished pumps, as well as some incredibly dazzling diamonds, and of course sans feather jacket. Catherine has always been one to wow me on the red carpet and I am hoping that Cannes will be no different.

'Behind the Candelabra' is an HBO film that will be presented as an official selection which Nicole Kidman was in the HBO film 'Hemingway & Gellhorn' so I am sure that she will attend this premiere. Nicole is expected to wear at least one L'Wren Scott design during the course of the festival as L'Wren is her stylist. This will be the only wish that I make for her to wear for the event. I think that this black and gold strapless L'Wren Scott Fall 2013 RTW art deco inspired gown. A black and gold Bulgari clutch, a pair of black Jimmy Choo pumps, and some stunning yellow diamond jewelry from Chopard and Nicole will keep the red carpet glamorous.

I am hoping that Audrey Tautou will be seen more than the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as the amFAR gala but at some of the premieres in between all of them. The precedent set for the Mistress of Ceremonies varies from just those events to attending several of the premieres outside of those events. If she were to attend this premiere I would love to see her wear this cream Christian Lacroix Fall 2007 Couture gown. I was saddened in 2010 when the Christian Lacroix label closed and his avant garde designs stopped showing up on the red carpet. I have been in love with this look since I saw it in Vogue and again in the first 'Sex and the City' movie. Complete with a pair of champagne and crystal Christian Louboutin satin pointy toe pumps, simple pink diamond Chopard earrings, and a silver clutch would complete this ensemble.

2013 Golden Globe Awards Wish List: Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture

Amy Adams is one of the few lucky women whom which Carolina Herrera will lend out clothing too. I think that for the 2013 Golden Globe Awards Amy should wear this black and white graphic Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2013 ball gown. I think that this gown would look stunning on the pale skinned red head and that she would rock the hell out of this design. Pair it with some black pumps, a silver clutch, a bold pink lip, and some stunning jewelry and Amy is set for success.

Anne Hathaway has been wowing me on the red carpet since the chopping off of her hair for her film 'Les Miserables,' which I believe she will win the Golden Globe for her work in. Anne has been constantly stepping out of the pretty dresses that she has always been known for and wearing some amazing avant garde gowns. A year ago I never would have picked this aqua Atelier Versace Fall 2012 Couture gown, I have said that the likes of Uma Thurman and Laetitia Casta to wear, and now I only can see Anne wearing it. She would finish this look with a silver clutch, silver Jimmy Choo sandals, and some amazing jewelry.

Helen Hunt is stunning at 49 and has already garnered herself a best dressed look for her cream Amen Couture gown that she wore for the 2012 Academy's Governors Awards. For the 2013 Golden Globe Awards I have chosen to put the actress nominated for her film 'The Sessions' in this black and electric blue color blocked David Meister Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this is the perfect option for the star who has an elegant sophisticated classic style. Pair this gown with a black Judith Leiber crystal encrusted clutch, a pair of black strappy sandals, a pair of simple earrings, and a statement bracelet and she is bound to look like the nominated actress that she is.

Nicole Kidman is bound to wear one L'Wren Scott gown on the red carpet this awards season. The stunning Australian actress is not only nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in 'The Paperboy' but for Best Actress in a Television Movie or Miniseries for her role in 'Hemingway & Gellhorn.' Nicole may pick up a statue for 'Hemingway & Gelhorn' and if she does she will look extremely elegant wearing this black L'Wren Scott Spring 2013 RTW gown with a lace back. The problem that I have with Nicole wearing these gowns is that she seems to pick the current seasons version on the gown that she always wears. She has worn a Nina Ricci gown very similar to this in 2010. Finish this look off with some amazing pierre hardy kitten heels (so that she is not taller than her husband and fellow nominee Keith Urban), a black box clutch, and some stunning Fred Leighton emerald earrings.

2013 Golden Globe Awards Wish List: The Hostesses

The funny ladies of NBC are hosting the Golden Globe Awards this year. Amy Pohler is one of the lovely ladies. Now when we think of Amy we don't necessarily think of outstanding red carpet style. Well as an event hostess Amy will have to step up her game if she is going to make the required multiple costume changes throughout the event. For the red carpet I would love to see Amy wear this powder blue Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2012 RTW. I think that this gown is totally within Amy's red carpet style. 

For the actual production here are my wishes for Amy. First we have a cream Naeem Khan Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this gown is simple yet different in an extremely good way, finish this off with some gold strappy heels and she is ready to open the show. The mint Peter Som Resort 2013 gown is something that Amy would stereotypically pick out for a red carpet appearance, so why wouldn't she wear something that is totally in her comfort zone. I love the yellow J. Mendel Fall 2012 RTW gown and I think that Amy would look amazing in this design. The color would look amazing on her. Finally I have this black TadashI Shoji Spring 2013 RTW gown. I was not a huge fan of this look when I saw it walk the runway in New York Fashion Week in September, but looking at it now it is the perfect gown for Amy.

I am more looking forward to seeing Tina Fey walk the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. I have grown to start to appreciate Tina' s style and think that of the two hostesses that Tina will definitely be the one to bring the fashion factor. For the red carpet I would love to see Tina wear this stunning draped Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 gown. Tina tends to wear a lot of black on the red but every so often she steps out of that box and wows w wearing a bold color like the red of this gown. Finish this look with a gold clutch, gold pumps, and some simple gold jewelry and Tina is on her way to a best dressed position.

Never thought I would say that I believe that Tina Fey would be the one to bring the fashion factor but I am expecting some amazing looks from her during the duration of the telecast. I would love to see Tina open the show in a show stopping manner wearing this dot printed Naeem Khan Fall 2012 RTW gown. I have seen another dress from this collection that has the same print up close and personal and it is a spectacular pattern and would turn many heads for sure. Next I have chosen this white, black, and gold Oscar de la Renta Spring 2013 RTW gown. This gown was one of my favorites from all of the spring collections and I think that Tina would look fantastic in this creation. Follow that up with the gown that I wished for her to wear to the 2012 Emmy Awards, a stunning L' Wren Scott Fall 2012 RTW purple velvet gown. This gown is old Hollywood glam and Tina would look fantastic in this design. I would have Tina finish off the evening wearing this stunning Elie Saab Resort 2013 black beaded gown. This gown was made to sparkle under hundreds of bright stage lights and would make a dramatic end to the evening.

2013 Critics Choice Awards Wish List Part 1

The Critics Choice Awards is the first major red carpet awards ceremony of the 2013 Awards Season. Coinciding with the announcement of the 2013 Academy Award Nominations on January 10th I am looking forward to seeing all the stars step out in their red carpet glam for the award show. Amanda Seyfried is not directly nominated for an award but her film 'Les Miserables' is nominated for Best Acting Ensemble and Best Picture. Amanda could end up attending the event as just a guest or a presenter. I wold love to see her wear this black Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown. I think that this gown is extremely elegant and show stopping without the power to upstage her nominated co-stars as well as the other nominees. Pair this gown with a gold and black Alexander McQueen clutch, a gold cuff, and some black and gold pumps and she is set to wow on the red carpet.

Anne Hathaway has been wowing me on the red carpet since she has cut off all of her hair. The edgy pixie cut that she did for her role as Fantine in 'Les Miserables' has given Anne a whole new look on the red carpet wearing edgy looks that she never would have looked at in the past. I would love to see Anne wear this amazing teal J. Mendel Spring 2013 RTW gown for the 2013 Critics Choice Awards. Anne is nomnated for Best Supporting Actress for 'Les Miserables' and has a running chance at winning the award. I would love to see her walk home with the Critcs Choice Award and a Best Dressed Award. Pair tis gown with a silver box clutch, some silver or teal strappy sandals, and some amazing Chopard diamonds and she is set to stun whether she takes home the trophy or not.

Also nominated for Best Supporting Actress with Anne Hathaway, is Amy Adams for her film 'The Master.' I would love to see Amy wow me, but she is either a huge hit or she is a big flop for me on the red carpet there is rarely an in between with Amy. For this event I have chosen this 1920's inspired gown from one of Amy's go to designers L'Wren Scott's Spring 2013 RTW collection. I have to say that L'Wren Scott designs have almost become stale on the red carpet because of people like Nicole Kidman who wear every look in the collection and they all have the same design ascetic. This is one of the few that I am in love with. Amy would pair this gown with a black clutch and some black Brian Atwood 'Wagner' pumps.

Elle Fanning is not one of my favorites on the red carpet. Since her debut on the red carpet in 2010 I have not been in love with one of her looks. This is because she tends to wear things that are either down right ugly or they wash her out. I had a hard time trying to pick a gown for Elle, but I ultimately decided upon this Valentino Spring 2013 RTW gown. Elle wears these 1970's style gowns often and the style can usually work but the styling usually doesn't. First of all I would love to see Elle dye her hair back to the red color she was sporting last summer as it helps not wash her out. Then the styling would be a bold purple clutch, and some black strappy sandals. If she takes my advice she very well may end up hearing high praises from me as she walks the red carpet at this event.

2012 Venice Film Festival: Premiere Wish List Part One

Heather Graham who is most known for her work in 'The Hangover' 'Austin Powers' and 'Boogie Nights' is set to premiere her new film, 'At Any Price', at the 2012 Venice Film Festival. I would love to see the 42 year old actress wear this deep purple velvet L'Wren Scott Fall 2012 RTW gown. I think that this gown is elegant and age appropriate for the actress who does not seem to have a defined style. Add a smoke silver clutch to match the broach detail and some black pumps as well as maybe a few vintage Fred Leighton jewels and the look is ready for the red carpet at the film fest.

I will admit that I am not really a fan of whatever Isabelle Huppert wears on the red carpet because I always feel that she puts forth no effort. The 60 year old actress who will be premiering her latest film 'Bella Addormentata' at the festival was front row at the Armani Prive Fall 2012 Couture fashion show in Paris last month. I am hoping that the star will snatch up with navy blue Armani Prive Fall 2012 Couture velvet gown with a embellished neckline and sheer sleeves which is elegant and age appropriate. One thing I always seem to not like about Isabelle's red carpet looks is that she always seems to pick a clutch that is too large. A small black embellished minaudire would be the perfect addition to this look. Finish it off with black peep toes, a pair of cluster diamond and sapphire earrings, and a hair do pulled back and up will complete this look and maybe make something that I would actually end up liking on the red carpet.

The final film of the festival will be 'Kiss of the Damned' and I am actually excited to see what the stars of this film will bring to the closing ceremony red carpet of the 2012 Venice Film Festival. Anna Mouglalis is one of the stars that I am hoping will take to the red carpet. The French actress and face of Chanel, who as also played Coco Chanel, will undoubably wear a Chanel frock for the red carpet. I would love for it to be this silver champagne beaded frock from the Chanel Fall 2012 Couture collection, that to me is reminiscent of the the 20's and 30's, would be an amazing choice for the star who loves herself some Chanel. Hair styled in a faux finger wave flapper bob, a champagne clutch, strappy d'orsay sandals, and Chanel fine jewelry should be what completes this look.

The other star of 'Kiss of the Damned' that I am looking forward to seeing take to the red carpet is Roxane Mesquida. The young star who Americans might recognize from her short run on the hit CW show 'Gossip Girl' sat front row at the Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture show and I would love to see her grab this dove grey and raspberry v-necked color blocked gown. I think that the grey would look amazing on her pale skin and the raspberry adds an unexpected twist on the heavily embellished gown. add a silver mirror type clutch and some silver strappy sandals and some amazing Chopard diamonds to complete the ensemble.

2012 Emmy Awards: Drama Nominess

Archie Panjabi, who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role on 'The Good Wife,' has never worn a couture gown on a red carpet and what better platform is there for her to do so. I think that this amazing Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown with lace cut out details would look stunning on the British Indian actress for the Emmy Awards. I think that this gown would look amazing on Archie who has this kind of dark style. Add an emerald clutch, black strappy sandals, and an amazing pair of emerald earrings.

A pregnant Claire Danes will take to the red carpet at the 2012 Emmy Awards where she is most likely to win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her new show Homeland. I am looking forward to seeing how Claire dresses in her pregnancy. I think that Claire should wear this white Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 RTW gown with gold embroidered sleeves. I think that this gown would only enhance the beauty of the stars baby bump and then continue to flow and look elegant. I was really wowed by all the looks that Glenn Close showcased at the beginning of this year wearing lots of Armani Prive and Zac Posen gowns that most women of her age would run away from. For the 2012 Emmy Awards where Glenn is nominated for her lead role in her show 'Damages,' I would love to see her wear this amazing Zac Posen Resort 2012 gown. I think that this gown would look amazing on the star. Add a black clutch and a pair of black pumps and the look is complete.

Julianna Margulies looks absolutely amazing wearing the designs of L'Wren Scott and I hope that this amazing purple velvet gown is what she will choose for this years Emmy Awards in which she is nominated yet again for Lead Actress in 'The Good Wife.' I think that this purple velvet L'Wren Scott Fall 2012 RTW gown will look amazing on Julianna with the crystal broach on the shoulder and a bustle style train. I would add a gun metal clutch, some black pumps, and some amazing diamonds in her ears and on her wrist to complete the look.
