Cannes Film Festival: Opening Ceremony Gala Screening of 'Moonrise Kingdom'

The opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival brings together actors, actresses, brand ambassadors, mistresses of ceremony. judges, and many more. Berenice Bejo who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the Best Picture winning film (which won Best Picture last year at Cannes) will be acting as this years Mistress of Ceremonies, whose job it is to host the Opening and Closing ceremonies. For her duties at the opening ceremonies I would love to see the actress wear this black embellished Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture gown. It is not secret that Berenice loves her some Elie wearing him exclusively whiles promoting 'The Artist' last year and a handful of times during awards season including to the Oscars. I think that this gown would be stunning on the actress who should wear her hair up and will undoubtedly pair her look with Chopard (a sponsor of the festival) diamond earrings and then add a pair of black peep toe pumps.

Diane Kruger will also be on hand at this event as she is the token red carpet diva judge at this year (an honor bestowed upon Uma Thurman in 2011, Kate Beckinsale in 2010, and Asia Argento, Shu Qi, and Robin Wright in 2009) and she has some big shoes to fill, that I am sure she is only going to make larger. I would love to see Diane don this purple Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture gown for this event. Gaultier himself is a judge so I would not be surprised to see many of his creations on the red carpet throughout the festival and I am sure Diane will wear at least one gown by him. Pair this with a black crystal encrusted clutch, black strappy sandals, statement earrings, and a diamond bracelet and she will be best dressed.

I had to make a wish for Tilda, I mean she is the star of the film that is being shown during the opening ceremony. I crisscrossed between many gowns from great designers such as Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli, and Versace but I ultimately decided upon this tuxedo inspired Stephane Rolland Fall 2011 Couture jacket and skirt ensemble. There are only two women in the world who I think are daring enough to make this look work for them Tilda is one the other is Lady Gaga. I am hoping that Tilda makes use of this for a premiere before it is subjected to become runway to sidewalk wear on Lady Gaga. Tilda should wear this with a pair of bright shoes that match the stitching in an Olympia Le-Tan book clutch (which Tilda is a huge fan of) and a pair of dazzling diamond earrings.

On a side note I am sure that Salma Hayek will attend the opening ceremony she always does but I can not make a wish for her as I am 100% positive that she will wear a custom creation by Gucci Premiere.

Cannes Film Festival: 'Holy Motors' Premiere

Eva Mendes is set to debut her latest flick 'Holy Motors' which is in the competition at this years Cannes Film Festival. I would love to see her in this long sleeves red and white etoile patterned Valentino Spring 2012 Couture gown. Eva is probably one of the only people in the world that could wear this gown and not end up looking like a sister wife. Eva oozes sex and it would come right through the matronly-ness of this gown. I would add one of the Prada thin bow belts and some simple nude peep toe pumps with minimal to no jewelry and have her hair pulled back and up.

Jury member Diane Kruger may or may not walk the red carpet at this premiere. If you look at last years fashionista Uma Thurman she only stepped out on the red carpet at the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as the non-competition Gala premieres but the year before Kate Beckinsale was all over the red carpets. I think that Diane will be a judge who walks the red carpet for all of the premieres she can. For this one I would love to see her in this pink Atelier Versace Fall 2010 Couture ball gown. I think that Diane has the presence on the red carpet to make this couture gown look absolutely effortless. No clutch, matching pink peep toe pumps, and a simple diamond bracelet would be the perfect accessories for this look.

Cannes Film Festival: L'Oreal Paris Spokesmodel Kerry Washington Wish List

Kerry Washington is someone that I have missed at Cannes. The stunning actress has donned for the festival designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Zuhair Murad, Monique Lhuillier, and Oscar de la Renta in the past but has not been in attendance since 2009. I am hoping that 2012 is the year of her return with a hit TV show and two movies in the works no better time than the present for her to make her triumphant return.

For this triumphant return I have picked four stunning glamorous gowns for the actress and spokemodel to wear. First up we have a stunning vibrant purple Andrew Gn Fall 2012 RTW gown with black gothic lace detail. I think that this gown is ethereal and edgy all in one which is an extremely hard thing to do in a single look. Add a simple black clutch (or no clutch), simple black strappy sandals and no jewels to just let the gown do the talking, along with Kerry's diva-tude. Next we have a powder blue Elie Saab Spring 2009 Couture gown, I think that this color would look amazing on Kerry and I would love to see her back in Elie as she hasn't worn a gown or look by him in a long time. This look would just get paired with silver peep toe pumps and a small diamond bracelet to finish it off. The third look is this amazing vampire chic Jason Wu Fall 2012 RTW black and red gown. I think that this is a look to let Kerry smoulder, which she doesn't do with her sweet ensembles all the time. Finally I would put her in this powder blue Zuhair Murad Spring 2012 Couture mermaid gown. This gown is a huge statement and Kerry has the attitude to pull it off even if she isn't the tallest girl in the band. Add a silver clutch, silver peep toe, and an amazing pair of earrings and she is set for a best dressed list somewhere.

Cannes Film Festival: L'Oreal Paris Spokesmodel Jane Fonda Wish List

At the age of 74 Jane Fonda is the oldest ever L'Oreal Paris spokemodel ever. And at 74 she always looks damn good. I have put her on the best dressed list numerous times most recently when she attended the HBO Golden Globes after party wearing this stunning Jack Gussio gown (pictured above.) She is not afraid to take risks and dresses rather sexily while still maintaining the grace and sophistication that comes with age.

For one appearance at the festival this year I would love for Fonda to wear this stunning sheer yoke and sleeved black Atelier Versace Fall 2011 Couture sequined gown. This gown would be something that Jane would wear and I hope to see her in it as she has such an amazing body and figure that there is no reason in hell that she shouldn't show it off. If I looked as good as she does I would too. Next we have this stunning pastel green Elie Saab Spring 2011 (not 2012 typo error) gown that is very 40's Old Hollywood reminiscent. To follow that I have this amazing blood red Georges Hobeika Signature Fall 2012 RTW gown, Jane has worn Georges before (like last years Golden Globes where Jane's nipple came out to tell the world hello) and has always looked stunning and as soon as I saw this gown I knew that Jane would be cat fighting to get her hands on it. The most stunning feature of this gown is actually the back where those sheer triangles on the shoulder invert together to make an embellished V shape on the back. And last but not least is this stunning figure hugging black long sleeved Giambattista Valli Fall 2011 Couture gown with a flowing white cape. For most events people would loose the cape, which is why I think that this look has not been worn as of yet, but for Jane for the Cannes Film Festival I think that this would be an amazing dramatic choice.

Cannes Film Festival: L'Oreal Paris Spokesmodel Frieda Pinto Wish List

Frieda Pinto is an absolutely stunning woman who we have seen blossom in couture before our eyes since she was trust onto the scene after the unexpected hit success of her first ever film 'Slumdog Millionaire.' She has gone on to be a muse for Chanel, a L'Oreal Paris spokesmodel and all around stunning red carpet fashionista, so needless to say I am really excited to see if she attends the 2012 Cannes Film Festival for L'Oreal.

The first look I would love to see Frieda wearing is this stunning silver satin Chanel Spring 2010 Couture gown with a draped sleeve. This gown to me gives of a mix of Old Hollywood mixed with the idea of a traditional Indian sari, and I think that this would look stunning on Frieda who donned another gown from this collection for last years MET Ball. Pair this with a simple silver clutch and sandals and that is all that is needed. Next we have this stunning deep purple Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2011 Couture gown that has a degrede train. I love Frieda in purple and I think that this is sexy while looking classy. Add a black clutch, black strappy sandals, diamond chandelier earrings, and a statement cuff with her hair pulled up and a smokey eye and she would ooooose sexual sophistication. Following that is another purple gown, this one a lavender tulle Marchesa gown with gold embellishment on the bodice. I think that this would look stunning on Frieda, like I said earlier I love her in purple and then add the gold this is the perfect mix for the stunning Indian beauty. Last but not lest we have this AMAZING emerald green Zac Posen Spring 2012 RTW gown. I think that this gown would just pop against Frieda's skin tone and bring this gown to life. Add a gold clutch and strappy sandals and I would be quite content.

Cannes Film Festival: Hemingway & Gelhorn Gala Premiere Wish List

At the Cannes Film Festival each year there are a few gala screenings of films that are not in competition for the festival but gives the jury some time off and of course adds more glamorous red carpet moments for the fashion obsessed. This premiere for this HBO film will be amazing for two reasons, the first being Nicole Kidman. I love seeing Nicole on the red carpet and I just hope to god that she does not revert back to wearing things that are hideous or boring to promote this as she has shown in the past she is on her best game when she is not promoting herself. For this premiere I would love to see Nicole wear this amazing deep purple velvet L'Wren Scott Fall 2012 RTW gown. For most this is an obvious choice as the Australian starlet has a long time relationship with the designer who is also her stylist, so it wont surprise me if Nicole don's a gown by the designer for at least one of her Cannes premieres. To complete this look I would add a black box clutch, black strappy sandals, simple earrings, and an amazing cuff style bracelet. The only problem that I can foresee in this gown is that it is velvet and the red carpet for this festival does take place outdoors in the hot summer suns of the French Riviera.

Parker Posey is supporting actress in the film and may attend the screening in Cannes as well. I am not as excited to see her as others who will be at the premiere because in a sea of women who always pump out the best looks on the red carpet Parker usually finds herself on the worst dressed lists. But anyway if she does I would love to see her wear this black and white patterned Naeem Khan Fall 2012 RTW one shouldered ball gown. I think that this would look absolutely stunning on Parker and if she wanted to spice the look up a bit she could add a bold clutch in yellow, pink, red, or green and pair the dress with black strappy sandals and maybe a diamond bracelet.

Diane Kruger is the other reason that I am excited for this premiere. Diane has always been a favorite of mine on the red carpet, last year she won the Red Carpet Diva of the Year (and this festival will put her back on track to win it again). Diane has a huge relationship with Karl Lagerfeld and wears Chanel like no other on the red carpet. So I will be shocked if that at some point in the the festival she does not don at least one amazing Chanel couture creation. I have picked this amazing white paillette and chiffon creation from the Spring 2009 Couture collection for Diane to wear to this premiere. Diane has donned this collection twice in the past. Once for the MET Ball and the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS events back in 2009. Diane is not one afraid to dig into the archives to find looks for her to wear on the red carpet and I think this would be a stunning bold choice for her. Simple strappy sandals and maybe some diamond and sapphire jewelery would be what this look would need to top it off.

Anna Kendrick Premiere Wish List for 'What To Expect When You're Expecting'

Sometimes I have an aversion to Anna Kendrick on the red carpet just because she tends to look the same or wear things that are not the best for her but I am kinda looking forward to seeing what she wears while promoting this movie.

For the Los Angeles premiere of the film I think that this strapless floral print Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 cocktail dress will be absolutely stunning for her. I think that this stunning dress is perfect for her. She should pair it with a black clutch, black strappy sandals, and her hair worn up and back. For the New York City premiere, which is usually a little more low key, I think that this Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2012 black dress with silver and gold embellishments. I love this dress and think that it is something that Anna has not worn before and I think that it would be a good choice for her. A gold clutch and gold strappy sandals are all that would be needed with her hair worn pulled back into a tight pony tail. And finally for London I think that she should wear this blue, yellow, white, and green swirl pattern Stella McCartney Evening 2012 dress. I think that this would be an amazing option for her and this collection has been extremely popular on the red carpet and I think that it would be great for her. Add a green clutch, blue strappy sandals, and hair pulled up would be perfect for this gown.
