2014 BAFTA Awards: Emma Thompson & Jennifer Lawrence Wish List

I had such high expectations for Emma Thompson during awards season after her wonderful run promoting 'Saving Mr. Banks' at the end of last year, but she has consistently made my worst dressed list awards show after awards show. I am hoping that when she takes to the red carpet at the 2014 BAFTA Awards where she is nominated for Best Leading Actress for 'Saving Mr. Banks' that she will give the the major red carpet moment that I have been praying for. I think that this very 1960's style Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2014 RTW gown with beaded empire waist detailing would be a perfect choice for Emma to make to redeem herself back on home soil. At other awards shows Emma has constantly complained how bad her Louboutin heels have ruined the night and because of that she opted for flat Louboutin sandals at the SAG Awards. I figure she will wear another pair of flats for the BAFTA Awards and my choice are a pair of gold Christian Louboutin pointed toe 'Pigalle' flats. Add a gold clutch, simple jewels, and a chiffon wrap to match the color of the gown and Emma will finally have a look that I love for her for the BAFTA red carpet.
Unlike Emma, Jennifer Lawrence made my Best Dressed List at the 2014 SAG Awards in her navy blue sequined Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture column gown. This was Jennifer's best Christian Dior look EVER! She looked so tall, chic, elegant, and edgy all at the same time. I am sure that Jennifer will don another Dior look for the BAFTA Awards. I am also guessing that this red carpet ensemble will come courtesy of the Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture collection. I think that this black and white mermaid gown is exactly what she will need to keep the Best Dressed in Dior roll going. This gown has a similar shape to her SAG dress but with slight differences and I am hoping that it would have the same effect of making her look amazonian tall. I would complete this look with a purple clutch (for a pop of color), a pair of black pumps, and some stunning jewels with amethysts and diamonds in her ears and on her wrist to complete this amazing ensemble for Jennifer.

2014 Producers Guild Awards Wish List

Amy Adams has really been on a roll this year I have been in love with all of her looks this season from Valentino at the Globes, Roland Mouret at the Critics Choice, and Antonio Berardi at the SAG Awards last night. While we have already seen Amy wear red once this awards season at the Golden Globes but I love this stunning red head in red. Recently Amy was photographed running around in LA after returning her Globes dress with shopping bags from Giambattista Valli and Elie Saab. I am praying that this is a sign of things to come as they are both brands that Amy favors on the red carpet. For the PGA Awards I am hoping that Amy snatches up this ruby red Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture strapless cocktail dress. The awards show tonight might be the last chance this stunning dress has to be worn before the Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture collection is presented on Wednesday. I would have Amy finish this look with the runway pumps, a gold Elie Saab clutch, and her hair worn up to ensure that all eyes are on her on the producers big night.
Queen of the Red Carpet Cate Blanchett wowed last night at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild in a custom Givenchy Couture gown, as was expected, and I am hoping that tonight she will do the same at the Producers Guild Awards. Cate was the big face last September in London when Tom Ford presented his Spring 2014 RTW collection. There were not many looks from the collection that I could see the demure queen wearing but I do think that this mirrored top and black tuxedo pants from the Tom Ford Spring 2014 RTW collection. I think that Cate is actually one of the few women in the world that I think could wear this ensemble and not look like a tacky human disco ball. Add a black and silver Roger Vivier clutch and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps and Cate will have a stunning sophisticated modern edgy look for the PGA Awards.
I had really high hopes for Emma Thompson coming into awards season as she looked fantastic (aside from the London Film Festival Premiere) whilst out on the promotional trail from 'Saving Mr. Banks' Unfortunately Emma has consistently ended up on my worst dressed list wearing ugly old lady dress after ugly old lady dress. I am hoping that if she attends the PGA Awards tonight that she looks stunning wearing this black Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2014 calf length dress. This is an elegant floaty flirty look for the 54 year old actress. Emma looks fantastic and needs to learn how to work it on the red carpet much more like Helen Mirren and Jane Fonda who are 10 years plus her senior. Finish the look with pretty black flats (because Emma has been complaining about heels killing her feet) and a black satin clutch will make a look I love for Emma.
Lupita Nyong'o has been rivaling red carpet veterans and queens like Amy Adams and Cate Blanchett as she makes the rounds during her very first awards season. The biggest designers in the world like Gucci, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Prada, and Elie Saab have constantly been throwing frocks at the stunning Kenyan actress. In the in between events Lupita has shown a pension for showcasing up and coming red carpet favorites. I am hoping that tonight she will do this yet again by wearing this cornflower blue Cushine et Ochs Pre-Fall 2014 off the shoulder knee length cocktail dress. Lupita has the grace, stature, and poise to make this dress sing a whole opera on the red carpet tonight. Finish the look with a silver embellished clutch, a pair of silver sandals, a pair of simple diamond cluster earrings, and a simple diamond bracelet and Lupita will shine yet again.

2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards: Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture Wish List

Taking a one day break before finishing the rest of the 2014 Golden Globe Awards wish list posts while the Hollywood Foreign Press Association releases its final waves of presenters throughout the day today we are starting to move onto the next major awards show the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Many say that the SAG Awards are a much more casual awards show but I think we are seeing a turn in most awards shows where no matter the case its go big or go home. I am going big by wishing that nominee Cate Blanchett wear this amazing floral embroidered Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture gown for the SAG's. I honestly believe that Queen Cate is one of the few women in the world with the beauty, elegance, grace, and poise to pull off such a gown. I would of course have the gown lined to allow the 44 year old actress to not cause any controversy with her gown option. Simply add a pair of gold sandals, a sleek up do, neutral makeup and Cate will shock and awe all of the international fashion press by wearing this design.
Having seen 'Saving Mr. Banks' I can totally see where Emma Thompson's awards nominations are coming in, but there is such tight competition that I don't know if she will get to take home one of the green men. For this awards ceremony I think that this Georges Hobeika Spring 2014 RTW gown which features a high neckline with a modesty panel and embellished bodice and cap sleeves would look absolutely phenomenal on Emma. At 54 Emma still knows how to rock some sexy look but does so in such a sophisticated mature way that it would just leave all the others in the dust. I would add just a gold box clutch and a pair of black satin peep toe pumps to ensure a perfect look for the SAG Awards for Emma.
Meryl Streep is the only lady on this list who as of yet I can not comment on how amazing her movie was because I am not actually seeing it until later today. I am hoping that we continue to see the extremely fashionable Meryl Streep that has come into our lives for the past 2 years on and off. I think that this black draped Ralph Laureen Spring 2014 RTW gown with a faux draped cape sleeve is absolutely stunning and Meryl would look fantastic working this dress up and down the SAG Awards red carpet. I would just add the matching runway Ralph Lauren sandals and some stunning vintage diamond dazzlers from Fred Leighton to make sure that Meryl stands out in just basic black.
To me its a coin toss between Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett as to whom will take home the Best Actress trophy so I am hoping that both ladies will be on their top game, and I know Cate will. As for Sandy, she can have some trouble at times making all the elements of her looks fall together. I think that this recently presented Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2014 gown which features a rich royal purple bodice and bow and a lilac purple draped satin skirt. I think that this is something that isn't normally something that Sandra would gravitate towards but I do think that this gown would look absolutely stunning on her. A pair of purple pointed toe satin pumps, no clutch, and jaw dropping diamonds in her ears and on her wrist would make this look hit the final high notes of an already operatic ensemble at the 2014 Screen Actors Guild Awards next Sunday.

2014 Golden Globe Awards: Best Actress in a Movie - Drama Nominee Wish List

Cate Blanchett has taken a nomination for Best Actress in a Movie Drama for her work in the Woody Alan film 'Blue Jasmine' and I am most excited to see what Queen Cate will bring to the red carpet at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards on January 12th. Last year Cate was named the face of Giorgio Armani's latest fragrance 'Si' and surprisingly we have not seen her in but one Armani ensemble since that announcement. For the Golden Globe Awards I think that this amazing champagne colored Armani Prive Fall 2013 Couture gown would bring the utmost glamour to the red carpet on Cate. This dress to me is a very modern interpretation of 1930's Hollywood and this is the type of look I most love to see on Cate. A gold box clutch, a pair of gold sandals, a faux bob with old Hollywood waves, as well as a neutral makeup palette will make sure that Queen Cate reigns supreme.
I saw 'Saving Mr. Banks' last night and I have to say I can totally see where Emma Thompson earned her nomination from. While I do not know if she will take home a globe against Cate Blanchett or Sandra Bullock, but I am sure that the 54 year old actress will bring it to the red carpet either way. For this event I would love to see Emma wear this amazing green Vionnet Fall 2013 Demi-Couture fitted gown with attached cape. Many readers may know that I have a love for capes. I find something about a woman in a cape on the red carpet extremely regal which is something that I think Emma could pull off swimmingly. Finish the look with simple gold sandals, a gold box clutch, and a pair of statement yellow gold and emerald earrings to ensure a regal red carpet ensemble.
'Labor Day' may have earned Kate Winslet a Golden Globe nomination but I don't believe that she will take home a trophy. If the new mother even decides to travel to LA for this event I can see her wearing this nude beaded Jenny Packham Spring 2014 RTW gown with a deep v neck and cap sleeves. This is a perfect post baby dress because it is simple and the shape is figure flattering which is what every new mom wants. A nude clutch and gold strappy sandals along with a selection of Tiffany and Co. diamond jewels in the ear and on the wrist will ensure that Kate glows.
Last but not least for today is 'Gravity' star Sandra Bullock. From everything that I am reading its going to be a Sandy vs. Cate showdown for who takes home the Best Actress in a Movie Drama trophy at the Golden Globe Awards. Because she seems to have a 50/50 shot of taking home this award I want Sandra to be on top of her fashion game. Since 2010, when Sandy took home her first Academy Award for 'The Blind Side,' she has really learned how to dress for the red carpet. I am hoping that this awards season that Sandy really shines and pulls out all the stops for this years awards season. For the 2014 Golden Globe Awards I think that this black Marchesa Spring 2014 RTW gown with white floral embroidery is absolutely perfect for Sandra. It will make for the most amazing red carpet moment Sandy has ever had. A black Judith Leiber crystal encrusted clutch, a pair of black Saint Laurent sandals, as well as some stunning diamonds in her ears and on her wrists will make for the perfect topping to this amazing red carpet ensemble.

2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards Wish List Part 1

Adele Exarchopoulos is a new face on the red carpet after debuting her film 'Blue is the Warmest Color' at the Cannes Film Festival wearing Balmain and Gucci. The film as garnered the 20 year old actress a nomination for Best Young Actor/Actress at the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards on January 16th 2014. Having worn some very simple and some very complicated looks I am torn on what to put her in but I ultimately decided to put the French starlet in this Valentino Spring 2014 RTW folk style gown. I think that the star just oozes sex though her pours so that even though that she would be completely covered up in this gown. Finish the look with a pair of nude sandals and a gold clutch to add the right finishing touches.
American Hustle star is Amy Adams has garnered a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in the film at the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards. Earlier this year Amy Adams wore a top and skirt by Vionnet to this event when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work in 'The Master.' I have kinda kept the same style for her to wear with this 30s inspired Jenny Packham Spring 2014 RTW gown. I am in love with this gown and I am praying that I will see it take to a red carpet during the 2014 Awards Season and Amy would make the perfect model for this look on the red carpet. Finish the look with a Prada box clutch that matches the salmon pink band in the dress, a pair of bronze Christian Louboutin d'orsay knot peep toe platform pumps as well as some stunning statement jewels in her ears, around her wrist, and on her finger from Bulgari.
My queen of the red carpet Cate Blanchett has been nominated for Best Actress for her work in the Woody Allen flick 'Blue Jasmine' at the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards. I am predicting that during the course of awards season that we will see Cate wear one Antonio Berardi ensemble and I think that this pink and red color blocked gown from the Spring 2014 RTW collection will look absolutely amazing on the red carpet. This is amazing dress needs someone with the presence of Cate to pull it off and then who better than the queen. Finish the look very simply with a red Roger Vivier clutch, a pair of red Roger Vivier sandals, and Van Cleef & Arpels diamond drop earrings to ensure that all eyes will be one the queen.
Best Actress for 'Saving Mr. Banks' nominee Emma Thompson has not exactly thrilled me on the red carpet whilst out promoting the film, but I am hoping now that she has garnered some nominations that she will be able to make me fall love some of her looks (if not all). For the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards I think that this Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2014 gown with gold beaded draped fringe would be the perfect gown for the 54 year old British actress. Add a simple Jimmy Choo 'Tube' clutch in gold, a pair of black Salvatore Ferragamo satin peep toe pumps, a pair of Chopard Red Carpet Collection fire opal earrings, and a turtle shaped Chopard ring that consists of 16 carats of yellow, brown, and cognac diamonds to finish off a chic sophisticated look for the nominee.
It would be a delight to see Best Actress in an Action Movie for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' nominee Evangeline Lilly take to the red carpet at the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards. Whilst on the promo tour for this film Evangeline wore a stunning Catherine Dean stone white gown (pictured left) and I still think her best ever red carpet look came from the 'You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger' premiere at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival with a blue and green fringe Emilio Pucci cocktail dress. For this event I think that this slinky body hugging Emilio Pucci Spring 2014 RTW white long sleeve gown that features slashes all over the sleeves and down the sides would make Mrs Lilly looks like a sexy femme fatale queen. An ivory and silver Edie Parker 'Jean' stripe box clutch, a pair of Jimmy Choo 'Lance' sandals, A pair of dazzling Chopard drop earrings featuring 23 carats of emeralds and 5 carats of diamond, and a 20 carat emerald Chopard cocktail ring set in a setting of platinum and diamonds will ensure that this is one of the best looks of the night.
Relative red carpet newcomer Greta Gerwig first stepped out for the world to see on the arm of designer Prabal Gurung wearing one of his creations at the 2012 Met Ball and she looked fantastic' so naturally I turned to the designer to find her look for the 2014 Critics Choice Movie Awards where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in the film 'Francis Ha.' Having a knack for wearing some of the more avant garde looks I chose this bright blue look from the Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 RTW collection which features a portrait neckline. This look takes a very brave woman to make it work and I think that Greta can be one of those women. A pair of simple Jimmy Choo silver 'Raven' sandals, a mirrored Jimmy Choo 'Cosma' Clutch, as well as a pair of Harry Winston sapphire and diamond earrings from 1975, and a newer Harry Winston diamond and sapphire bracelet would complete this absolutely perfect look for Greta.

2013 AFI Fest: 'Saving Mr Banks' Premiere Wish List

After closing the 2013 London Film Festival, the cast of 'Saving Mr. Banks' will make their way to Hollywood for the AFI (American Film Institute) Festival opening where they will present the film once again. I think that this dove grey Jenny Packham Spring 2014 RTW peasant dress with ruby red embroidery. I think that this is a simple dress that is perfect for the 54 year old British actress. We don't see a whole lot of Emma on the red carpet and I am not the biggest fan of her wardrobe. This dress would be a pretty change from the very grandmumsy clothes that she usually wears. A pair of silver satin Ferragamo pumps would be the perfect finishing touch to complete this ensemble.
I have not gotten the hype behind Ruth Wilson. After one great look in McQ by Alexander McQueen last year she has failed to really excite. I am hoping when she takes to the red carpet at the AFI Fest opening gala premiere of 'Saving Mr Banks' that she goes softer and turns down the bitch face that she tends to put on when she takes to the red carpet. For this premiere I think that this silvery ice blue Jason Wu Spring 2014 RTW one shoulder origami draped cocktail dress would be the perfect look for Ruth to don for this red carpet. Complete the look with a bold blue clutch and a pair of silver sandals and I think that I might like this look from her.
