2012 Peoples Choice Awards: Jennifer, Katy, Kim

Jennifer Lawrence is nominated for the Peoples Choice Favorite Movie Superhero for her portrayal of Mystique in "X-Men: First Class." Jennifer will most likely walk the carpet not only because she is nominated, but to promote her new film "The Hunger Games", so I knew I needed to make her look good. I chose to put her in this Edition by Georges Chakra Fall 2011 RTW cocktail dress. If Jen is still rocking the brown locks from "The Hunger Games" then I think that this dress will sing. No clutch or jewelery, just a pair of strappy matching blue sandals is all that is needed with Jennifer's presence to make this look sing.

Katy Perry is nominated for Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Song (for E.T.), Favorite Pop Artist, Favorite Music Video (for T.G.I.F.), and Favorite Tour Headliner. With all these nominations, I truly believe that Katy will be attending, if not performing. For the red carpet, I have chosen to put Katy in this 90's style Atelier Versace Fall 2011 Couture cocktail dress. This is not a typical Katy dress, but I believe with a pair of hot pink strappy platform sandals that this dress would look absolutely stunning on Katy.

I have never known Kim Kardashian to ever turn down the opportunity to walk a major red carpet, I mean last year she was at the Critics Choice and SAG Awards. So now that she is nominated for Favorite Celebreality Star, as she has her his reality shows "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Kim Take New York", I am positive that the socialite will be on hand to walk the red carpet. I have chosen to put her in this white Paule Ka Spring 2012 Commercial Collection dress with one bat-wing sleeve. The look is very plain for Kim; I imagine that she will pair this with silver crystal encrusted Christian Louboutin Daffodil pumps. I would add a pop of color via stand out clutch and some earrings from her go to jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.

2012 Palm Springs Film Festival Black Tie Awards Wish List

Charlize Theron's latest comedy, "Young Adult", is set to receive the Vanguard Award for Outstanding Creative Ensemble at the 2011 Palm Springs Film Festival Black Tie Awards Ceremony on January 7th. The actress will most likely grace the red carpet and event to help accept the award with the producers and director. For this event I have chosen to put the stunning South African actress in this black and white Lanvin Spring 2012 RTW strapless sheath dress. To add a pop of color to this simple color blocked dress, I have added a teal to aqua Kotur Spring 2012 clutch with a fun tassel embellishment and then some Christian Dior sandals with a crystal netting. The jewelery is diamond and onyx and is from the event sponsor Cartier.

Legendary actress Glen Close (Damages & 101 Dalmatians) is going to be honored this year with the Career Achievement Award at the 2011 Palm Springs Film Festival Black Tie Awards Gala. I sort of see the Palm Spring Film Festival Black Tie Awards as the unofficial kickoff of the Awards Season (the official kickoff is the Golden Globe Awards on January 15th). Even though the title of the awards is black tie, each year the women attend in the very best cocktail attire. Now as much as Glen is a talented television and film actress, she tends to fall short on the red carpet, so I have decided to be an angel and take her under my wing and give her my advice (through the blog, I mean the title of the site is IF I was a Stylist, after all) all thorough awards season. So Glen, first off, DO NOT WEAR BLACK! I was in a tossup between this stunning cobalt blue Elie Saab Spring 2012 RTW embellished dress and a black lace frock designed by Tom Ford. To ultimately send away the drab, I have given Glen this stunning blue dress. Now this dress is stunning on its own, but with the addition of a matching Arfango Spring 2012 collection clutch and Nicolas Kirkwood Spring 2012 collection satin sandals, frosted with diamonds and sapphires from the Van Cleef and Arpels archive, Glenn would shine like the successful star that she is.

Michelle Williams will be at the 2011 Palm Spring Black Tie Awards Gala as well; she'll be receiving the Desert Palm Achievement Award for Acting for her work in the film My Week With Marilyn, where Williams portrays classic Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe. Michelle, much like Glenn, needs a style intervention, so I have decided to step in and help her out. So for this event I have chosen a stunning pink with silver embroidery full skirted high-necked dress from Naeem Khan's Spring 2012 RTW collection. This dress would look so cute on the actress who tends to choose the right silhouette but wrong dress or styling. If she were to choose this dress I would die with excitement, but if she were to style this look wrong then I would probably cry. So to style this look correctly I would pair it with just these Tabitha Simmons Spring 2012 collection silver sandals. This look does not need extra diamonds or a bag, she just needs to let the dress to the talking and keeping it simple.

Octavia Spencer is set to receive the Breakthrough Performance Award at this years Palm Springs Film Festival Black Tie awards Gala. The actress most known for her role as Minny Jackson in the hit film "The Help" and has become quite the diva on the red carpet. Octavia has stuck to her go to designer, Tadashi Shoji, for all of her red carpet appearances to date and I have as well, but do not think that that is how I am going to stay all awards season if she continues her nominations. For this event, I have chosen this Tadashi Shoji Spring 2012 RTW taupe dress which has a tulle overlay that creates texture over the floral embellished sheath underneath. To accessorize this look I would pair it with a Marchesa Spring 2012 collection gold crystal encrusted clutch, strappy gold Rupert Sanderson sandals, and jewelery from the sponsor of the event Cartier. I hope to see her on the red carpet a lot this season wearing a plethora of gowns that would look amazing on her

2012 Peoples Choice Awards: Eva, Gwyneth, and Jennifer

Eva Longoria has also been in a style rut; is it just me or have I said that a lot the last few days? LOL. Well I think she is, and well, I think that this Reem Acra Spring 2012 RTW one shouldered, leopard print cocktail dress would look absolutely stunning on her. I think that Eva's diva-tude would take this sort of everyday cocktail dress to the next level. A Jimmy Choo clutch with a cut-out leopard print, gold Jimmy Choo strappy sandals, and Chopard chandelier earrings would greatly enhance the ensemble.

Gwyneth Paltrow is not in a style rut and will look absolutely fantastic wearing this Gucci Spring 2012 RTW dress. The only problem with Gwyneth wearing this amazing Gucci dress is that eclectic folk singer Florence Welch wore this to perform on Later with Jools Holland, at the beginning of November 2011. But that was just a performance look and lots of looks have been worn on the red carpet and the stage by different celebrities. The only accessory that this look needs are some amazing Tom Ford Fall 2011 black velvet sandals piped with gold leather.

And we have yet another celebrity in a style rut and there is absolutely no hope that she will come out of it. So yes there is a possibility of her wearing this Nina Ricci Spring 2012 RTW dress, but it will be shortened to mini dress length and possibly the neck detail will be removed. Now with those two modifications, I could live with her shortening the dress a little bit, but not taking off the neck detail. If she added matching Jimmy Choo sandals and clutch to complete this look, I would be happy.

2012 Peoples Choice Awards Wish List: Demi and the Emmas

Demi Lovato is nominated for Favorite Pop Artist and she seems like an artist who will walk the red carpet at this event. However, I find that she is incredibly difficult to dress on the red carpet; she has had a lot of ups and downs, so I can not really define her style. I think she would look great in this acid yellow Christian Siriano Spring 2012 RTW dress. To complete this dress a gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and some gold chandelier earrings would make this look stunning with loose curls to top it off.

Now Emma Stone on the other hand is easier to dress for the red carpet because she is the girl who follows trends but also goes for a classy but edgy look. So for the 2012 Peoples Choice Awards, I am wishing that she wears this amazing gold and red Carven Spring 2012 RTW dress. I love it when red heads wear red and gold so this dress gives the best of both worlds. I would go sans clutch and just add some gold peep toe pumps and a pair of amazing gold earrings to complete this ensemble.

And up last for today we have the amazingly beautiful Emma Watson, who looks great in just about anything. Her wish hails from the Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 RTW collection; there are so many dresses in this collection that I believe would look stunning on Emma, but I want to see her in this specific dress paired with a bold pink, yellow, or blue clutch and some silver strappy sandals to make this look best dressed list worthy.

2012 Peoples Choice Awards: Cameron, Chloe, and Coutrney

Cameron Diaz has worn nothing but neutral mini dresses over the past year, and well, I am not going to stop her just quite yet. Ever since this Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2012 RTW gold dress strutted down the runway, I knew that Cameron had to wear it. Besides, what would be a better platform for this dress than the 2012 Peoples Choice Awards. The California blonde will show off her best asset, her legs, in this amazing dress. Gold strappy sandals, and maybe a box clutch, would complete this stunning ensemble.

Chloe Moretz is such a cute bubbly 14 year old, and I think that this pink heart printed fringed Versace for H&M cocktail dress would be perfect for her. If anyone could pull off this quirky dress it would be Chloe, who attended the fashion show launch party for the collection. She needs to play up her youth and should wear pink strappy sandals and carry a pink clutch to keep this look quirky and youthful. If she were to wear this dress, she needs to straighten her hair and wear clean makeup to make this outfit truly work. Overall, I think that this would make an absolutely stunning choice for the young actress

Courtney Cox can be a hard person to style for the red carpet, but when I stared searching for a dress for her to wear for this event, the minute I saw this Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 RTW dress I knew that this was the dress for her. To complete this look a black box clutch, red peep toe pumps, diamond drop earrings, and a diamond bracelet would make this look absolutely stunning.

2012 Peoples Choice Awards: Anne, Beyonce, Blake, and Britney

Welcome to the first post of my wishes for the 2012 Awards Season. The first televised award show of the season is the semi-formal dress code People's Choice Awards. Now know that most of the people that are going to be wished for will probably not show up, especially the A-List stars who will be resting up for the Critics' Choice, AFI, and Golden Globe awards that all are within days, if not hours, from each other. The People's Choice wish lists will take seven days to come completely posted. I recommend checking the site everyday at 12pm EST because this month is jam packed with wishes, and there is not a free day all month. Hope you enjoy the coverage that I bring to you of all the events. I plan to post best dressed lists throughout the month and then post award season one will be posted every Saturday trough out the year.

First up is Anne Hathaway, the stunning actress is nominated for Best Movie Actress, as she is a huge A-List star, she may or may not attend. Anne is styled by Hollywood style maven, Rachel Zoe, who brought her to great triumph with 8 ensembles last Oscar Night alone. For the People's Choice Awards, I am requesting that Anne wear this Bottega Veneta Spring 2012 RTW dress. I love this dress because it is a mash up of some of my favorite things: draping, embellishment, and color-blocking (although it is using neutral colors). I think that Anne has the grace but also the sass to pull off this look. A matching gold clutch and strappy gold sandals would be the perfect conclusion to this elegant but edgy look.

The stunning Beyonce, may not attend for two reasons a) she is an A-List star and b) the will be very pregnant and might not be able to fly from NYC (where she lives with hubby Jay-Z) to LA where the ceremony is held. Either way I cannot pass up the chance to create a look for the simply beautiful mommy-to-be. I think that this Valentino Spring 2011 RTW dress would look amazing and highlight the baby bump, a la the orange Lanvin gown she wore to announce her pregnancy to the world last year at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. She may have to make necessary alterations to the dress by lengthening it just a bit, so that she and the bump can remain covered up. Now I know Beyonce is going to be like supermodel Heidi Klum and wear stiletto heels up until the day she is wheeled into the delivery room. For this look I would recommend that Beyonce wear some red with black detail Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps and lots (but not too much) Lorraine Schwartz diamond jewelry; I think that stunning earrings and bracelets would be perfect for this ensemble.

Well towards the end of last year I was not impressed with anything that Blake wore, despite her wearing some of my favorite designers such as Elie Saab, Marchesa, and Versace. So I have decided to make my wish for her in the designer that she has consistently hit high marks with, Chanel. The moment I saw this butter cream color strapless cocktail dress on the runway at the Chanel show I have always envisioned Blake in it. Why, you may ask? Well, that is because it is classy and elegant, but also extremely sexy and Blake's diva-tude will make this all the sexier. To finish this look Blake needs to go into the large Christian Louboutin shoe closet she has and pull out a pair of gold strappy sandals. A gold and diamond chandelier earring and a gold and diamond cuff would make this look perfect

Britney Spears is in need of a style intervention, and I'll admit, this wish ain't helping the cause. But I have a better chance of choosing a garment that would fit her style than put up something that she wouldn't wear in a million years. Lately most of Brits looks have been short, black, and tight so that is what I have given her, BUT this is an elegant take on that. The Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2012 RTW dress would look amazing on the blonde pop star. She should pair this dress with a pair of black matte leather peep-toe Christian Louboutin pumps and a silver bracelet.
