2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Supporting Actress on Television Nominees Wish List

The final season of Downton Abby premiered this past weekend which marks a sad turn of events. I am interested to see who from the cast will be out on the red carpet on Sunday at the Golden Globe Awards. One ladies who I am sure that we will see is Joanne Froggatt who is nominated for her work on the show. I have never really found Joanne to be that intriguing on the red carpet, there is usually something that is off about her look. I am hoping that when she steps out on Sunday that she will deliver her best red carpet moment yet. I believe that this floral Monique Lhuillier Resort 2016 ensemble which features a sleeveless fringe embellished blouse and an a-line ball skirt would be a very beautiful option for Joanne to wear on this red carpet. Finished with a gold clutch, a pair of gold pumps, a chic romantic updo, and a pink lip and this look will be one for Joanne's record books.
I put Judith Light right up there with Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren with women who are considered "old" by Hollywood standards who defy what they are expected to wear and continue to make bold red carpet choices. I am quite looking forward to seeing what the Transparent actress will be rocking on the red carpet on Sunday night at the Golden Globe Awards. I think that this black Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 draped gown with its sheer emerald beaded tulle sleeves and waist line would be an absolutely amazing red carpet moment on Judith. I think that this gown would look phenomenal on Judith, who has been loving pants on the red carpet recently. I would pair this look with emerald green Christian Louboutin satin peep toe pumps, an emerald and black Edie Parker clutch, hair worn up to accentuate the details at the neck, and a red lip to keep the look of elegance and glamour going.
Of all the Supporting Actress on TV nominees I am most likely to dislike what Regina King wears on the red carpet the most. I have usually found that Regina doesn't dress to fit her very athletic body type. The dress that she wore to the Emmy Awards (pictured left) looked more like a couture lampshade on her than a fabulous red carpet dress. If she want's so badly to look feminine on the red carpet I think that Regina just pick something like this raspberry red Georges Hobeika Spring 2016 RTW sleeveless floral embellished sheath dress. I think that the silhouette of this gown would look elegant on Regina who doesn't show her curves very often. I would finish this with a sleek hairstyle, a pink lip, a matching clutch, and a pair of silver sandals to get Regina on the right track.
Uzo Aduba is one of my slowly rising fashion stars. I love watching Uzo step out on the red carpet because she jetted to stardom overnight and she has been handling the red carpets like she has been on them all her life. On Sunday I would love to see Uzo wearing this hot pink Christian Siriano Pre-Fall 2015 mermaid gown with its thigh high slit and beautiful portrait neckline. Uzo has great curves and this gown would show them off in a way that she has never done before on the red carpet A pair of black sandals, a silver clutch, and a pair of dazzling diamond drop earrings would ensure that this red carpet moment is done perfectly.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries Nominees Wish List

We are just 5 days away from the Golden Globe Awards! I am so excited to see all the amazing looks that are going to gracing the red carpets, today I am making my wishes for the very talented women who are nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries. Up first is American Crime star Felicity Huffman. I can't honestly say that I am expecting Felicity to wow me, it has been a long time since that has happened, but I am sure that she will wear something very pretty. I think that this tangerine Jenny Packham Resort 2016 chiffon halter gown with a neck scarf would be a perfect choice for Felicity to make for this red carpet. I think that by choosing something in such an interesting color will keep me more interested than a dramatic gown in black (which is what I am expecting). I think that the color would compliment her skin tone, as well as her new darker hair. Finished with a  gold clutch, a chic up-do, pink lip, and a pair of gold pumps and this look will be exactly what Felicity needs to get me a little interested in her style again.
I am incredibly excited that Kirsten Dunst has earned a Golden Globe nomination, thanks to Fargo, not because I watch the show but because I love her on the red carpet. Kirsten knows how to work some of the brands known for their edgy designs like Rodarte, Chanel Couture, and Proenza Schouler on the red carpet and I am hoping that she brings one of those brands to the red carpet on Sunday. I would die if she showed up in this black and white Rodarte Spring 2016 RTW silk velvet lace gown with its stunning navy floral embroidery. I think that this gown reminds me of a bygone era and Kirsten is one of the few who I could picture making this gown work off the runway because of that vintage spirit she possesses. With her pale skin, a red lip, vintage inspired hair, diamond drop earrings, a white Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of silver sandals this look would just elevate to a whole other level of red carpet beauty.
I was a little shocked that Lady Gaga was actually nominated for her work on American Horror Story: Hotel, but I am very excited that she is going to be on hand. We have seen a more toned down, by Gaga standards at least, version of Lady Gaga since she has been on the show and I am pretty sure that more demure glam side will be out on display on Sunday night. I honestly predict that Gaga will be wearing a custom gown from one of her fabulous designer friends like Tom Ford, Brandon Maxwell, or Donatella Versace. I personally would love to see Gaga wearing this jet black Alexander Wang Pre-Fall 2016 crepe jersey gown which features a racer design neckline, a ruched bodice with grommeted leather trim, and a floor length pleated column skirt. While this look is very subtle, maybe a little too subtle for Gaga since she is actually nominated, I think that it has that rocker edge with the leather grommeted trim that it could make the cut. I think that if she took this look and went full Hollywood with old Hollywood waves, a red lip, diamond chandelier earrings, and a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps that Gaga would slay the Globes red carpet.
I find Queen Latifah to be a delight to see on the red carpet. She might stick to a small group of designers but she always look beautiful. I am hoping that the Bessie actress will really bring it to the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday and I think that she would do exactly that wearing this dark teal Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture halter cape embellished gown. I think that any type of Zuhair Murad cape gown will be compared to JLo at last years Globes but I think that this gown is very different with its fitted sheath gown and cape sleeves. I feel like this is a statement that Queen Latifah has never made on the red carpet and I think that it has a lot of red carpet potential. Finished with a gold clutch, a pair of gold peep toe pumps, chic up-do, and a fierce eye and this look will for sure keep Queen Latifah on the top of Best Dressed Lists.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series Drama Nominees Wish List

We are now six days out from the 2016 Golden Globe Awards! I am excited and we are moving on to the television nominees today! I am extremely to see that Outlander star Caitriona Balfe is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series Drama. I have been following Caitriona and her beautiful bold style. She really love a dramatic color on the red carpet but for her first red carpet where she is nominated I picked this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 black and rose pink guipure lace sweetheart neck sheath gown. I love how this gown mixes elegant glamour and sex appeal. The patchwork design just adds to the romanticism of this look. Caitriona is 5'10" and I think that this romantic gown would be a beautiful romantic moment on the red carpet, making a different kind of statement. Finished with old Hollywood waves, a black clutch, a pair of black sandals, a red lip, and a pair of diamond chandelier earring and this look is red carpet ready.
A few years ago I would have been really excited to see Eva Green on the red carpet, now I am not because I think she sucks the life out of her looks on the red carpet. Most people wear Elie Saab Couture and I am falling over with how beautiful it is, Eva puts me to sleep. I think that is why I chose to put her in this black long sleeve Pamella Roland Pre-Fall 2016 gown which features a beaded waist and keyhole neck for the Golden Globes red carpet, where Eva is nominated thanks to Penny Dreadful. I think that sticking to black and moody will work best for Eva as I tend to see her in more vampy type of looks. A chic vintage inspired up-do, a red lip, a black clutch, and a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps would help me not fall asleep looking at her.
I am almost not expecting Robin Wright, who is nominated thanks to House of Cards, to even show up to the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (she skipped the Emmy's). If she does I am sure that her look will be white, nude, or black and I am picking the former. I think that Robin would rock the hell out of the red carpet in an unconventional way wearing this white Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture long sleeve, pailette embellished tunic and tapered pants. What I think I love about this look is that while it is unconventional that it is still incredibly formal and ultra chic in a very modern way. This is the new standard of red carpet dressing, not always an embellished gown but something that makes people talk. This paired with white pumps, a white Edie Parker clutch, side slicked pixie, a pink lip, and a diamond earcuff and Robin would have a major red carpet moment on her hands.
I am already figuring that Taraji P. Henson is going to be bringing a lot of sexy to the red carpet at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. The Empire star works the sex kitten style her character, who shes nominated for playing, wears on the show on the red carpet too and I am hoping that she will give it a rest. I would love to see Taraji wearing this oil slick colored Armani Prive Fall 2015 Couture strapless peplum ball gown. I think that this gown is sexy but without being too much at one time, the perfect look for Taraji to wear on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Vintage inspired bob, a pink lip, diamond drop earrings, a diamond bracelet, a black satin clutch, and a pair of black sandals will ensure that Taraji has a wonderful red carpet moment on the Globes red carpet.
I am predicting that Viola Davis will take home the Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series Drama for her role on How To Get Away With Murder at the Golden Globes on Sunday night. I either get really excited or really bored by Viola on the red carpet and the last time that I was excited about one of her looks was at last years Golden Globe Awards when she wore a stunning red Donna Karan Atelier gown. I am hoping that she brings another WOW moment to the red carpet on Sunday and I think that this grey illusion tulle Marchesa Pre-Fall 2016 embroidered organza a-line gown would do just that. I love the soft romanticism of this look and I think that if Viola played that up with a vintage inspired bob, a pink lip, a metallic grey Edie Parker clutch, gunmetal Jimmy Choo sandals, and diamond drop earrings that I would fall head over heels in love with this look on the red carpet.

2016 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Red Carpet Rundown

2016 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Red Carpet
Awards season 2016 officially kicked off on Saturday night with the red carpet of the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala. Some of the stars brought it, like Cate Blanchett in Marc Jacobs and Brie Larson in Jason Wu, while others fell flat, like Rooney Mara in Lanvin and Amber Heard in Dolce & Gabbana, and Saoirse Ronan was all kinds of crazy in Duro Olowu. This red carpet did just enough to keep me wanting more. I will be tweeting out outfits from the People's Choice Awards on Wednesday night and then I will be live-tweeting the Golden Globes red carpet and show with my partner in snark Kelly from Dream In Lace. I will also be posting to Instagram and Snapchat (@futurestylist93 on both), so make sure you are following along there! Happy awards season everyone, hopefully lots of glamour and just a little fug are in our future.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Nominees Wish List

I have had some people in my past say that I don't get excited for the women over 40 as much as I do for the young starlets. While I can say that I usually find women over 40 have found their style and usually stick to it, tried and true, there are quite a few of the older women in Hollywood that I just wait with bated breath to see on the red carpet. Two of them are featured in this post and of the other two I don't know much about her style and the other knows how to throw impact mixed with her tried and true. At 70, Helen Mirren still knows how to work it. I am hoping thought that come the 2016 Golden Globe Awards next Sunday that Helen doesn't stick to her love of all things Dolce & Gabbana. I have seen her wearing enough of those lace cocktail and evening dresses to last me a lifetime. I picked this indigo micro pleated J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2016 which features lace sleeves and a lace back. I think that this look personifies sophisticated sexy and that is what Helen loves to bring to the red carpet. While I do think that Helen should have just an inch or two of the plunging neckline raised, I still think that she could rock this look better than some of her 20 something counterparts. Finished with a pair of black Ferragamo satin peep toe pumps and diamond cluster earrings this would be a major moment, of something different, for Helen on this red carpet.
Name one other celebrity who at almost 80 still rocks the red carpet in amazing high label designer creations that are borrowed or custom made for her from the likes of Cavalli, Versace, Valentino, Balmain, and Saint Laurent. I can't think of anyone other than the beautiful and sexy Jane Fonda, who at 78 shows women more than half her age how its truly done. While I was not a fan of the looks that she wore while promoting her film Youth, which earned her a nomination, I am still excited to see what Jane is going to bring to the red carpet. There were many options that I could have gone with as the first look I would love to see Jane wearing, and I love when sexy Jane comes out to play, but ultimately I went with this metallic copper Ralph & Russo Fall 2015 Couture long sleeve gown which features an embellished lace blouse and a pleated skirt. This gown offers elegance and a refined sophisticated chic that I know Jane could pull off. Styled with a copper Roger Vivier clutch and a pair of copper peep toe pumps this look would be perfect for the Golden Globes red carpet.
It is The Hateful Eight's Jennifer Jason Leigh that I am interested to see in what direction she takes her red carpet dressing. I am not so sure about how she will go because I haven't seen much of her on the red carpets, I didn't even see her at the films premiere. I know that she ill probably pick a refined moment for this red carpet as we haven't seen her in a gown yet, but with all the heavy hitters that she is nominated with she is going to have to learn how to step up her game. I picked this azure blue and white Monique Lhuillier Spring 2016 RTW guipure lace bodice and crepe skirt for Jennifer to wear on the Globes red carpet. I honestly just picked a chic run of the mill dress for Jennifer because I don't know who she is on the red carpet yet. I would hope that if she wore something like this that she would accessorize with a blue Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver pumps, and a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings and finish out with old Hollywood waves and a red lip to ensure that she has a beautiful moment on the red carpet that will hopefully keep me interested.
Last but not least for the Motion Picture nominees is Kate Winslet who is nominated for her supporting role in the film Steve Jobs. Kate has a tried and true method of red carpet dressing. It is usually black and always fitted from a bevy of her designer friends. I am hoping that next Saturday that Kate takes a little step outside of her box and wears this intricately beaded Jenny Packham Spring 2016 RTW cap sleeve gown. Kate is not usually one to go for something that is so busy but I think that in a favored silhouette and brand of hers (she has worn similar shaped Jenny Packham gowns before) that she should take the risk. I think that by making such an embellished statement is something that Kate really would shine wearing. A chic faux bob, a red lip, a black clutch, a pair of black pumps, & a pair of diamond cluster earrings would all add the perfect punctuation to this look.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy Nominees Wish List

Amy Schumer is one that I usually bypass on the red carpet. She has been stuck in what I call the "Lena Dunham Syndrome" where she has to figure out the types of looks and poses that flatter her figure, and she just hasn't done that yet. For the 2016 Golden Globe Awards next Sunday I would love to see Amy, who's nominated thanks to her film Trainwreck, wearing this red Romona Kevesa Spring 2016 RTW corset style mermaid gown. I think that this fitted, sexy gown would look amazing on Amy's curves. That is the problem with Amy and high fashion. High fashion brands don't often take curves into account and Amy is got that Marilyn Monroe type of a figure, bombshell. The other thing that usually doesn't add up with Amy's red carpet looks is her hair. The rats nest that she had on the top of her head whilst wearing custom Zac Posen at the Emmy Awards prevented her from making best dressed lists, so I am hoping that at the Globes that Amy will give something perfect for this look. I would be happy if Amy copied that lookbooks beauty styling with a tight high sleek ponytail and coal rimmed eyes. I would just add red pumps, a red Edie Parker clutch, borrowed diamond drop earrings,& a red lip to ensure that Amy has her first major red carpet moment.
Will Jennifer Lawrence wear Christian Dior on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet? That is the question that is on everyone's mind. My guess is that the actress, who's performance in Joy earned her a nomination, will be in the French couture brand out of contractual obligation. With the exit of Raf Simons I don't know if we will see JLaw in one of his runway creations or something that is custom made for her by the in house design team. Since I can't necessarily predict a custom gown, and all the custom gowns she has worn recently have been lackluster, I looked back to the Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture collection and this chic simple white sleeveless gown which features a barely shear skirt and a bodice that is subtly embroidered. This is a chic glam look that I have been missing from JLaw and I am really hoping that she gets back to her best for Awards Season, though I am not holding my breath. Her new stylist's suck and I wish she would jump ship to someone like Elizabeth Stewart (who dresses Cate Blanchett), Kate Young (Sienna Miller/Dakota Johnson), or Michaela Erlanger (Lupita Nyong'o). This look finished with a pair of silver sandals, a silver clutch, diamond drop earrings, a pink lip, and a vintage inspired bob would see Jennifer back in my good graces.
Finally I have a wish for funny girl and SPY actress Melissa McCarthy. I am hoping that the plus-sized actress actually puts some thought into her red carpet look. Most of the brands that I would put Melissa in didn't have anything that I could picture her wearing on the runways but I know they would whip up something fabulous and custom for the actress. I would love to see Melissa is a custom Marchesa or Tadashi Shoji gown for this red carpet but alas there wasn't anything from either brand from their runways or look book's that really spoke to me. I picked this Escada Pre-Fall 2015 ensemble because it is something that I can picture Melissa wearing on a red carpet, I don't necessarily think that this is the right type of look for the Globes, it is more of a SAG look, but If she tucked the blue top into the black silk high low skirt; and added a diamond necklace, old Hollywood Waves, a silver Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of Christian Louboutin black pumps this look might be able to be elevated to a Globes worthy red carpet look.

2016 Golden Globe Awards: Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama Nominees Wish List

Ladies and Gentlemen it is finally upon us! We have come to the time where I start the wish lists for the first of the big awards shows, the Golden Globe Awards. Which means awards season is almost here! The Golden Globe Awards are on Sunday January 10, 2016 which is just a week and some change away. There is a little shake up with this years acting categories as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hands out the Golden Globes, decided to run The Danish Girl star Alicia Vikander in the Lead Actress category, where she is running in the supporting category at the SAG and is expected to do the same for the Academy Awards. Neither the less Alicia is bound to bring it to the red carpet during awards season. She has proven herself the most worthy Louis Vuitton ambassador and while it is likely that she will wear a custom gown from the brand I would absolutely love to see Alicia wearing this golden lace Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture tiered blouse. This look just feels vintage even though it was made for the current couture season and I think that Alicia would look absolutely glowing in this stunning creation. I would make sure that the gown is the focus by styling Alicia's hair into a vintage inspired updo. Adding fresh faced makeup, a pair of gold sandals, and pair of small diamond drop earrings to ensure that Alicia is one that keeps my love burning.
The Golden Globe Awards will be the first major televised awards show red carpet for Brie Larson, though she has been to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and the Met Gala, so this will be like her coming out party. I picked this black Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2016 sequin and tulle ball gown because it is the perfect type of look that says look at me I am a Golden Globe nominated actress while being subtle enough that she won't over do it on her first red carpet. I usually pick very simple looks without too much embellishment or froufrou-ness for Brie because she hasn't shown me that she can really hold her own and not let a big dress wear her. I think that this is the perfect style of big dress to make me change my mind about froufrou dresses on Brie. I would keep the styling very classic Hollywood with a chic updo, a red lip, diamond drop earrings, a black clutch, a pair of black Christian Louboutin strass covered pumps, and a diamond bracelet to really let Brie shine on her first major red carpet.
As I have been saying all along I am praying to the fashion gods that Cate Blanchett brings something new to the red carpet in 2016 and the Golden Globe Awards are her chance to wow me again. The actress, nominated for her work in the film Carol, is usually one of my favorites on the red carpet so I would die if she showed up wearing this marigold Giambattista Valli Fall 2015 Couture draped, caped gown. This has been something that I wanted to see Cate wearing on a red carpet since it first walked the runway in Paris back in July of 2015. The Golden Globe Awards red carpet is the perfect place for Cate to make this moment happen for me. Finished with a pair of gold sandals, a tucked faux bob, a pink lip, and a pair of pretty yellow diamond Chopard earrings and this will definitely be a major wow moment and would most likely shoot to the top of my Best Dressed list.
Rooney Mara, much like Alicia, is running at the Golden Globe Awards as a lead actress where she is running as a supporting actress at all the rest of the major awards shows. Back in May of 2015 at the Cannes Film Festival Rooney took home the Best Actress award for Carol, for which she is nominated at the Globes for as well. Having a very small black and white box from which she picks her red carpet looks from I picked this black Valentino Fall 2015 Couture one shoulder tulle gown for Rooney to wear on the red carpet. I think that this gown fits right in with Rooney's no muss no fuss style and I can picture her gracefully floating down the red carpet wearing this dress. I would imagine that Rooney would have at least the blouse of this gown lined, but I would suggest that it gets lined in a very nude tone so that you don't hide all of the detail on the blouse (like Keira Knightley did with a similar gown from this collection.) Keeping with Rooney's no muss no fuss style I would just add a pair of black sandals, a red lip, and a pair of simple yellow gold set diamond cluster earrings will ensure that this is a beautiful moment on the Globes red carpet.
Finally for this list we have a look for Irish-American actress Saoirse Ronan. Saoirse has not been on an awards season tour since Atonement back in 2007 and she has done a lot of growing up since then. Now Saoirse is the darling of edgy fashion brands like Proenza Schouler and Rodarte. I picked this lilac floral embellished Gucci Pre-Fall 2016 gown for Saoirse to wear for the Golden Globes, where her work in Brooklyn has earned her a nomination, because of just how classically elegant it is with a touch of the avant garde with the floral embroidery on the the bodice and straps. I am expecting a few wow moments, like the Valentino she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party a few years ago, but this is a good place to start. Finished with a pair of gold sandals, a loose updo, a gold clutch fresh faced makeup, and simple diamond drop earrings and this look is red carpet ready.

I will be live tweeting the Golden Globe Awards red carpet with my partner in snark Kelly from Dream In Lace on Sunday January 8, 2016 starting a 6pm.
