Best Dressed of August 2015

August was a real slow month for red carpets. Most months I have 50+ contenders for the 10 spots on the monthly Best Dressed list. This month I only had 30 women but they were still all worthy contenders. Sarah Jessica Parker worked the red carpet at the opening night of the Broadway show "Hamilton" in a stunning emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture spaghetti strap ball gown. I have been waiting to see a drop dead beautiful red carpet gown from SJP on the red carpet and this defiantly did me disappoint. SJP styled this gown very simply with flowing waves and emerald green eye shadow. I definitely applaud this look and it will be one that I remember when it comes to the Best Dressed of the Year list. Runway Report: Oscar de la Renta Resort 2015

With a very successful Met Ball behind him Oscar de la Renta moved forward with the flow of fashion presenting an absolutely stunning Resort 2015 collections. The collection has got to be one of my favorites from Oscar in a very long time. It melds the classic Jackie O signature style of the Oscar de la Renta brand with hip modern youthful elegance. I love the way that Oscar tailors his clothing and makes it so women of all ages can be sophisticated. I can see women of all ages and backgrounds falling in love with pieces of this absolutely stunning collection, from first ladies to pop stars. Black, white, raspberry, gold, navy, red, and pink all make their color marks alongside classic and graphic floral prints and color blocking. As with most Oscar de la Renta collections this collection is bound for the red carpets of premieres, galas, and political functions across the world.

Runway Report: Chanel Resort 2015

 Karl Lagerfeld loves to travel for the presentations of his pre-collections for Chanel. It is always nice to see where Karl will land when he is not showing at the Grand Palais in Paris, the site of all of his Ready-to-Wear and Couture shows. Resort 2015 had the fashion set jetting to Dubai and out to a personal island on the Palm cluster where there was a dramatic tent set up. Inside gathered fashionistas and celebrity alike. Seated "front row" were the likes of Freida Pinto, Janelle Monae, Dakota Fanning, and Tilda Swinton. The wonderful thing about all of the exotic locations of the Resort collection presentations is that Karl always takes the culture of the area and throw's the classic Chanel stamp on it. Case in point this year includes very covered up looks, as to obey cultural laws. I can see the fashion pack hounding over the oversized harem pants for fashion month starting in September. 2014 Met Ball: Anna Wintour. Sarah Jessica Parker, and Aerin Lauder Wish List

On May 5th one of the most glamorous nights of the year will take place, The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute Gala 'Charles James: Beyond Fashion.' Hosted each year by Conde Nast, the Creative Director of all publications and Editor-in-Chief of 'VOGUE' Anna Wintour will of course be on hand to greet all of the guests after they ascend the red carpeted stairs of the Museum. In the past seven years Anna Wintour has only opted out of wearing Chanel Couture once, in 2012 when the Met honored the work of Muccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli where she wore custom Prada. I figure that Anna will wear another Chanel creation from the Spring 2014 Couture collection. I think that this white creation will make for a great moment, the other dress I wanted to see Anna wear was recently worn by Princess Caroline of Monaco. I do not believe that Anna will pair her gown with the Chanel Couture sneakers, but with her favorite Manolo Blahnik 'AW' sandals. Signature bob and a red lip would finish this look off and give me an Anna Wintour look to love.

Sarah Jessica Parker is one of the co-chairs of this years gala; along with Anna Wintour, Bradley Cooper, Lizzie & Jonathan Tish, and Oscar de la Renta. I am sure that SJP will rock a super awesome custom Oscar de la Renta gown, he is a personal friend and co-chair of this event. I can't seem to find a record of Sarah wearing an Oscar de la Renta ensemble for the Met, so it is only time for this to happen. This black and white Oscar de la Renta Fall 2014 RTW strapless ballgown with an fun layered skirt. Sarah loves herself a big gown and this would totally be something that she would gravitate towards. A pair of awesome emerald statement earrings and a pair of lady like black lace pumps would put a stunning finish to this awesome red carpet look.

Aerin Lauder is the head chair for the 2014 Met Ball, and the main sponsor of the entire exhibit, so I am sure that she will work the red carpet in an Oscar de la Renta creation as well. The cream Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 RTW micro-dotted tiered gown will make for an extremely elegant sophisticated red carpet moment. A pair of statement sapphire earrings, a silver clutch, and a pair of strappy simple silver sandals would give Aerin a perfect red carpet look for the 2014 'Charles James: Beyond Fashion' Costume Institute Gala the beginning of next month.

amFAR Gala to Kick Off New York Fashion Week Wish List

Emmy Rossum is a regular at these major New York social events and with a new movie coming out I would not be surprised to see her walk the red carpet at the amFAR Gala to Kick Off New York Fashion Week. For this event I would love to see her wear this navy blue Monique Lhuillier Pre-Fall 2013 gown. I think that she would look stunning and elegant in this classic shape gown with amazing pailette details. Finish the look with some stunning earrings and silver sandals and Emmy will no doubt wow on the red carpet.

Karlie Kloss has really started to take the fashion world by storm in the past 4 years being the muse of Elie Saab, John Galliano, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, Jason Wu, and many more. Karlie is rapidly becoming the number one supermodel of our time, she will go down in history with the likes of Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, and Naomi Campbell. For the amFAR Gala to Kick Off New York Fashion Week I would love to see Karlie wear this black sequined Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2013 gown. She has worn Jason Wu on numerous occasions and is currently his main muse when creating his collections. Pair this with the Jason Wu 'Karlie' clutch (obviously named after her) and a pair of black sandals and she will stun like usual.

Georgina Chapman is another amFAR Gala regular be it in New York, LA, or Cannes it is not surprising to see the Marchesa designer walking red carpet wearing her own designs. Thanks to ModaOperandi.com and their designer trunk shows I was able to see the amazing Marchesa Pre-Fall 2013 collection which is where this white caped gown came out at the event. Pair this amazing gown with a silver Marchesa clutch, and silver Christian Louboutin sandals to look fantastic.

Sarah Jessica Parker is a New Yorker through and through and I love to see her grace the red carpet. The first time she wore a Theyskens Theory at the Kennedy Center Honors 2011 she looks edgy and phenomenal. So with a winning combination already I would like to see the former 'Sex and the City' star wear this white Theyskens Theory Spring 2013 RTW gown. I think that this shape would look extremely stunning on the actress that even though she she is only 5'3" would look 10 feet tall. Pair this gown with a simple pair of black pumps and I would be enamored.

MET Ball Wish List: Naomi, Rihanna, and Sarah

 Naomi Campbell has worn Alexander McQueen almost exclusively on the red carpet since his death in 2010. I would love to see her wear this stunning avant garde black tulle embroidered Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2012 gown. I think that there are very few people who could pull off this gown in a non-editorial sense. No clutch, black strappy sandals, and hair pulled back would be all that are needed to go with this dress as it says so much on its own.

 Rihanna has been wearing a lot of Stella McCartney as of late but I feel that because that she is the current face of Giorgio Armani jeans that she will wear an Armani gown. I would pick this stunning Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture gown with a sculptural bodice. This stunning gown is one of my favorites from the Spring 2012 Couture collections. I think that this gown is perfect for Rihanna's edgy sense of style and would look absolutely stunning against her skin tone. I would pair it with the runway clutch and some strappy gold sandals, as well as some gold jewelry.

And the very last wish I have for the 2012 MET Ball is for one of my favorite ladies on the red carpet Sarah Jessica Parker. I love to see Sarah on the red carpet as even as she has aged she still brings glamorous fashion forward risks to the red carpet. Sarah is a huge fan of Alexander McQueen and when I saw this black embroidered gown from the McQ  diffusion brand Fall 2012 RTW collection I knew that I wanted to see her in it. For this event I would recommend that she have the gown lenghtend to the floor to add a little bit more drama and add some sparkle to the look by swapping the velvet belt out for a beaded or crystal encrusted one. Black pumps, a bubble gum pink clutch, 60's beehive style hair, and some cat eye makeup would make this the perfect costume-y yet elegant ensemble for the event.

Runway Review: Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 RTW

The inspiration for Prabal Gurung's Spring 2012 RTW collection was interesting. He had photos of nude women bound by rope by the photographer Nobuyoshi Araki. Now this is interesting as two of his biggest clients, Sarah Jessica Parker and Michelle Obama, don't necessarily come to mind when that is said. Even though, I could totally see either of them wearing several pieces of this collection. With a color palette of black, white, purple, green, and aqua blue. I was a bit surprised that the seasons hottest color, yellow, was not on Prabal's runway. Bellow are my top three looks and the fabulous women who should wear them:
