Sorry for only posting pictures in the past week but I have been away on break and then getting back into school. Here we go with more Met Ball posts. The theme of this years gala is 'Punk: Chaos to Couture' so we are bound to see lots of crazy edgy gowns and cocktail dresses take to the red carpet. Bee Schaffer is the daughter of Anna Wintour the Editor in Chief of American Vogue who is one of the hosts of this event. The mother daughter pair always take to the red carpet together for this event and this year I would like to see Bee wear this thistle print Carolina Herrera Fall 2013 RTW gown. I am mildly obsessed with this gown and I know that this is one that will most likely never see a red carpet unless seen at the Met Ball. Pair this with a classic up-do and some red sandals I think that Bee would have a winning look yet again.
Elettera Wiedemann is a New York socialite and model that is a frequent on the Vogue party circuit and never turns down the Met Ball. I think the model, socialite, and muse of Prabal Gurung should wear this stunning midnight blue gown from the designers Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection. She of course due to the theme should wear this gown with the harness that it was presented on the runway with. A Pair of black strappy sandals and statement earrings would be the perfect conclusion to this amazing ensemble for the Met Ball.
Heiress to the Trump Companies, socialite, and prominent business woman Ivanka Trump usually attends the Met Ball. This event is the hottest ticket on the New York City social calendar and has an average of over 600 guests every year. For this years event I would love to see her war this red and white printed bustier gown with a black silk skirt by Armani Prive from the Spring 2013 Couture collection for the gala. I thing that with Ivanka's much more athletic frame that this gown would look absolutely stunning on her. Only things about this look I would change are removing the bar broach on the hip and making sure that the dress has a little bit of a train to add just a little more drama. Add stunning jewels of her own creation, a black Leiber minaudiere, and a pair of strappy black Christian Louboutin sandals and she will wow on the red carpet.
Last but not least we have Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo who helps at the right hand of Anna Wintour plan the actual parties (the main dinner and dancing as well as the official Vogue after-party.) I love to see what Lauren will wear to the event having worn some amazing over the top designs in the past. This year I would love to see the 37 year old social butterfly wear this hot pink Oscar de la Renta Fall 2013 RTW with gold scroll work embroidery. Last year Lauren wore a bold leg-o-mutton Oscar de la Renta white gown covered with black bows. This is the red carpet where you are able to take as many risks as you want and usually get away with it because it is a costume themed event. Hair pulled back into a slick tight bun and some gold pumps are all that is needed to finish off this look. If she were to add anything more then she would be heading into tacky territory and that is not something that Lauren does.
