The Academy of Country Music Awards Wish List

Tomorrow night is the Academy of Country Music Awards. Of course country beauty Carrie Underwood is not only nominated but set to perform. For the red carpet I would love to see Carrie don this stunning gold and turquoise embellished Nicolas Jebran Fall 2011 Couture gown. Carrie is a girl who loves to shine and sparkle on the red carpet and I think that this gown would allow her to do that without looking like a pageant queen, which sometimes she draws a fine line between the two. Hair pulled back, minimal if any gold jewelry, a turquoise clutch, and gold strappy sandals would send this look into a happy territory for me.
Up next we have the voice Miranda Lambert. I am not a fan of Miranda on the red carpet as I feel she always looks like a stuffed sausage on the red carpet in her skin tight cocktail dresses and gowns. For this event I want for her to wear this stunning forest green Edition by Georges Chakra Fall 2012 RTW gown. I think that this is something that Miranda would pull to wear to any one of these country music awards and the brand is promoted by PR firm, Film Fashion, which she tends to pull her red carpet looks from. So I would love to see her in this, paired with a gold Swarovski clutch, and a pair of gold peep toe pumps.
Nicole Kidman is the odd duck in this group and you may be wondering why she is here? Well she always attends this event to support her husband, Keith Urban. I find that she always looks better when she is at events as the guest of her husband. So for this event I would love to see her wearing this stunning Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012 Couture dress. She usually wears looks that are shorter for this event which is okay as it is sort of a lil bit of a more casual formal event and she isn't one of the nominees. She will wear a great pair of Pierre Hardy kitten heels in a complimentary colors.
Taylor Swift has been maturing her embellished princess gowns into stunning embellished gowns. Taylor would look amazing in this dove grey strapless gown with a peplum detail on the hip gown from Marchesa Spring 2012 RTW. I think that this gown would look absolutely stunning on Taylor as she has a great complexion for this gown. No clutch, silver strappy sandals, simple make-up, and her hair pulled back are all she would need to do to make my best dressed list.

MET Ball Wish List: The Fanning Sisters

The Fanning sisters will most likely be at the MET Ball. Dakota will most likely be in attendance as she has three movies coming out this year, including one of the most anticipated films Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. She has worn some Elie Saab in the past for the promotional tours of The Runaways and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. I think that this stunning embellished Elie Saab Fall 2012 gown with a built in cape would look absolutely stunning on Dakota with her pale skin. There is a chance that this gown won't ever be worn because folk singer Florence Welch wore this in her 'Shake It Out' music video. Even though I am still hoping for a huge red carpet moment with this gown. Dakota should pull her hair into a low loose large bun, simple makeup, no clutch or jewelry, and a pair of champagne colored satin peep toe pumps.
Elle Fanning may not have a movie coming out this year but she is a huge staple in the New York fashion scene having been the face of both Marc by Marc Jacobs and Rodarte. She has worn so many Rodarte looks on the red carpet and I would love to see her wear this stunning burnt orange and white patterned ruffled Rodarte Fall 2012 RTW gown. I think that this is something that Elle would just go into the Rodarte studio and pull off the rack and wear to just about any event and I would love to see her in this. A bronze Judith Leiber clutch and a pair of bronze strappy sandals with her hair pulled back. Last year the sisters both attended the MET Ball and both wore Valentino Elle in Fall 2010 Couture and Dakota in Resort 2011.

MET Ball Wish List: Charlize and Coco

Charlize Theron having Snow White and the Huntsman and Prometheus both premiering this summer I would not be surprised if Christian Dior does not send her as a spokesmodel for the brand as she is the face of the fragrance J'Adore. For this event I would like for Charlize to look into the houses archives and pull this stunning white bustier ball gown. I think that this gown would look absolutely stunning on Charlize. I have been waiting since July of 2009 to see this on the red carpet and I am still extremely anxious to see it on a stunning woman like Charlize. No clutch and a great pair of silver crystal encrusted strappy sandals, a vintage diamond headband, and some stunning diamond bracelets with her hair styled into a messy up do would have Charlize grace the best dressed lists around the world with ease.m
Now Coco Rocha is one of the models that always attends the MET Ball that I always have my eye out for. In 2010 she graced the event wearing a stunning Zac Posen Spring 2008 RTW finale gown with a 20 foot train, and worked her way to the #1 spot on my best dressed of the year list. I think that if Coco would don this blue halter necked Zac Posen Spring 2012 RTW ball gown that she might have a shot of working her way back on to this years list. No clutch, blue strappy sandals, diamond and sapphire earrings and bracelets, and a sleek bouffant up-do would make my heart sing.

MET Ball Wish List: Cameron and Catherine

I am still waiting for Cameron Diaz to don Armani Prive since she was seen sitting front row at the Spring 2012 Couture presentation and what would be a better venue than the MET Ball. With two movies set to release this year Cameron is a good contender to be a guest of Vogue at this years event. I think that this digital snake print gown would look absolutely stunning on Cameron. The green color is perfect for Cameron's light skin and hair. A black clutch and some black peep toe pumps would be the perfect subtle accessories to let this stunning avant garde gown.
Catherine Zeta Jones is a stunning woman and I think that she looks good in these ice colored gowns. One of her favorite designers is Elie Saab and so I decided that I am going to mix the two things and put her in this ice blue embellished Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture gown. I would again just add a blue bustier under the dress so that the sheer illusion of the top is not lost through lining but she is still demure. A silver Judith Leiber crystal encrusted clutch and a silver pair of strappy sandals. Some amazing diamond earrings and flowing hair would look absolutely stunning and finish off this absolutely stunning ensemble.

MET Ball Wish List: Blake and Brooklyn

I miss my girl Blake on the red carpet. I need her to make a triumphant return after fizzling out after her contract with Chanel and her 2011 scandal. For the 2012 MET Ball I would like to see Blake in one of my favorite gowns from the Atelier Versace Fall 2011 Couture collection. I love that this is a current take on original Versace collections and am actually quite shocked that it has not been worn yet by anyone. I think that his gown would be stunning on Blake as she tends to favor gowns that show off her best two assets, her legs and her breasts. I have decided to put away one of those to and I still think that Blake would look absolutely stunning. For accessorizing I would pair this with a gold clutch by Versace and have her good friend Christian Louboutin send her a pair of red can gold sandals. Hair worn loose and curly with simple makeup are just what the doctor ordered to bring Blake back to her best.
I really do not favor seeing Brooklyn Decker on the red carpet. I think that she doesn't bring anything to the table to wow me. I think she may be able to persuade me to like a look of hers if she wears this black and gold Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2012 RTW number without lining the skirt. I think that as a former Sport Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl Brooklyn would have no problems pulling off this sexy ensemble. A gold clutch and a pair of strappy black sandals are all that is needed to take this look into best dressed territory. I would want her to pull her hair into a top knot bun to complete the ensemble.

MET Ball Wish List: Anne and Ashley

I am super excited to see if Anne Hathaway attends the MET Ball this year as she has two films, The Dark Night Rises and Les Misérables. If she does walk the red carpet at the famous MET stairs I would DIE if she donned this amazing ethereal Valentino Spring 2012 Couture gown. I would just add a white bustier top underneath this to make it a little bit more modest without ruining the ethereal romance of the tulle and lace. I would recommend a beautiful up-do and a pair of crystal encrusted shoes as they would be the perfect pop of bling as I wouldn't add any other jewelry.
Now I am almost positive that Ashley Greene will be walking the MET Gala red carpet and I am sure she will wear Donna Karan as she is the current face of the brand. I took the the Fall 2012 RTW collection to find Mrs Greene a stunning gown and I fell absolutely in love with this stunning red one shoulder gown. I think that Ashley would look sexy and sultry in this design. A red minaudiere, sexy strappy red sandals, a pair of sparking diamond chandelier earrings, and a mix of two or three diamond bracelets would be the perfect paring of accessories for this look. Hair styled in to a sexy messy bun and simple make-up would be the way to go with this sexy look.

MET Ball Wish List: The Anna's

Most of the people I am going to make wishes for are for people who have been constantly invited or have a movie coming out this year. Anna Kendrick is going to be in like six movies this year so I do believe that this qualifies her to be an attendant of the hottest ticket in the fashion industry. Anna has worn Elie Saab for one of the most special nights of her life so far, the night she attended the Academy Awards for the first time as nominee, as well as many other times. I would love to see Anna to wear this amazing pink ballet skirted Elie Saab Spring 2012 Couture dress. For the MET Ball people can wear what ever they want basically and go all themed. I think that this paired with a pair of silver metallic leather peep toe pumps and hair done all out and styled that this would be amazing.
Anna Wintour will of course be on hand at the 2012 MET Gala, honoring Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli, of course, as she is the Editor-In-Chief of Vogue which is the leading sponsor of the event. For the past 5 years Anna has gone to her favorite couturier, Chanel, to find the gown that she wears to the event. She always picks a look off of the Spring 2012 Couture runway. This light metallic blue gown with a boat-neck jacket is the piece that I would most like to see Anna wear as I could see her wear this for other occasions as well. Anna actually buys her clothing and does re-wear a lot of her things. The Chanel Spring 2009 Couture gown that she wore for the 2009 Model As Muse Gala for the MET for the recent White House State Dinner. A pair of silver kitten Manolo Blahnik sandals and some amazing diamond earrings and bracelets and it will look absolutely amazing.

Gossip Girl Week: Blair Waldorf Formal Wear

Blair wears some of my favorite formal ensembles from the red carpet and red carpets. I think that this black and blue sketch print plain Angel Sanchez Fall 2012 RTW strapless ballgown would be something that Blair would totally see and fawn over. I would pair it with Harry Winston diamond earrings and drop necklace, a Giorgio Armani clutch, and Roger Vivier shoes. This whole outfit just screams the Blair the Prisoner Princess, lol.

Gossip Girl Week: Lily Humprey Daywear Wish

Lily Humphrey (aka Bass and Van Der Woodson) is the epitome of upscale upper east side older socialite. I think that for an everyday look that Lily would wake up and see this amazing white Lela Rose Fall 2012 RTW sheath dress with amazing gold shoulder details and would wear it for lunch with the girls or a business meeting. I think it should be paired with a gold clutch and some gold closed toe pumps and just add a trench coat if she decides to go out

Gossip Girl Week: Serena Van Der Woodson Daywear

Serena has this very boho chic but still sexy style on Gossip Girl so I think that this amazing blue knit with black detailing Mark Fast Fall 2012 RTW long sleeve mini would be a perfect Serena dress. I could just see Eric Damon putting her in this dress with a slouchy tote much like the Alexander Wang Coco Duffel bag and a pair of sky high black platform peep toe pumps. Serena (aka Blake Lively) would look amazing in this and I hope to see it on the screen next season.

Gossip Girl Week: Blair Waldorf Daywear

Blair Waldorf is one of my absolute favorite characters on Gossip Girl as she always has such impeccable taste and wears a lot of my absolute favorite runway looks for day to day and evening events. Here I have my first of two looks this week for Blair, a day to day casual ensemble. I started this look with the orange top and the blue circle print pencil skirt from Kate Spade's Fall 2012 RTW collection. I thought that it just screamed Blair from the very start and I knew that it was what I was going to feature. I decided to pair it with an orange Lela Rose coat from Net-A-Porter, and a Nancy Gonzalez bag and Arfango shoes that I found in the Style.Com Accessories Index. I think that the always stunning Blair would look absolutely amazing in this look and I really do hope that Eric Damon, the man in charge of putting the wardrobe for the show together, decides that this is worthy of the famous scheming character.

Best Dressed of the Week Ending 3/17/2012

Well, hello there Rachel. Now, there's no doubt in my mind that Rachel was turning heads in this Jason Wu piece. Lets start of with the cut of the dress; the high neckline balances out the formfitting shape of the dress, which makes it classy-sexy. I also love the asymmetrical hemline and kick, again, sexy but still classy. But my favorite, favorite, favorite part of this ensemble is the bunched knot on the side of her torso. It tricks the eye to make her waist appear even smaller, although she is already gorgeous as is, which is what every woman wants. The color and unique print also contrasts nicely with her skin tone. Since the dress is so bold with the pattern, there's no need to jazz it up with too many colorful accessories and Rachel's pee toed pumps are enough jazz to last the night.
I'll admit, normally, I hate orange, but after seeing Elizabeth debut in this stunning Atelier Versace piece, I'm starting to reconsider my aversion to it. The color is so vibrant and it enhances Elizabeth's blonde and pale skin complexion; I also think that the color makes her look slightly tanner than she normally is due to the underlying color in the design. Now lets talk about this fabulous fit! I'm all for a sexy form fitting dress, but its the strap and the unique neckline. The neckline is almost an asymmetrical modified sweetheart neckline; I'm sure designers would appreciate my innovation in terminology! I also approve of the shoes and the color; since the dress is so bold on its on, it needs an element to tie it together and balance it out.
Va va voom! Lately Elizabeth has been rocking the orange look, and she wears it well. This is such elegant, yet a very modern look. I love how this Elie Saab piece is floor length, but still elongates her stature and makes her look taller; usually I would recommend that if you wanted to look taller in an ensemble, you should wear a piece that hits slightly above your knee cap, but this gown is an exception. The form fitting silhouette is another component that I am loving on this gown. It hugs her curves just enough without being too tight and still retaining it's flowy, elegant quality.
Now, I use to say that outfits like this should only be worn by Olivia Newton John in Grease, but Leslie pulls this outfit off so well that it makes me want to take back that statement entirely! The neckline is honestly phenomenal and shows off just enough cleavage, but not too much. The gold shoulders also adds a nice splash of color in a place that you normally wouldn't expect to see it. And the belt, the belt makes Leslie's waist look tiny tiny and truly transforms this ensemble into an hourglass piece. Last but not least, the fit of this outfit is spot on; the skinny leg shows off how learn her legs truly are. Sarah approved!
I know that on this blog we focus more on the couture and highly glamorous events and ensembles, but this causal outfit was too good not to recognize! I love the snug fitting, simple black tee paired with the skinny jeans tucked into the trendy boots. Now, this patterned coat really makes this outfit look modern and fashion forward. But I want to commend Miranda for adding a bold splash of color in her purse because this outfit needed some color added to it. I have no complaints on this outfit!
Aubrey Hepburn? Oh, its Michelle in Valentino. At first, this was a bit too classic for me, but the more I looked at the details in the dress, the more I started to fall in love with it. First off, the straight pencil skirt is a women's best friend, and for good reasons; pencil skirts elongates the body and also gives an hourglass shape. But now I want to focus on the top, starting with the asymmetrical neckline and the very unique cap sleeve. The layering on both shoulders also adds interesting dimension to the look as a whole. I love the softness that the dress embodies and Michelle reinforces that by pairing it with a nude shoe, which was quite clever.
Although I am slightly disappointing that the First Lady didn't wear the voluminous train, but I'm still thrilled that she went for a modern gown. Firstly, the color is stunning against her chocolate complexion, just stunning. I love the classic off the shoulder v-neck, but I adore the interesting rucheing and bunching at the bust line that extends all the way down her waist. This gives dimension and interesting details for the eye and makes her look thinner. But, Michelle should have traded the gaudy necklaces for a simple diamond piece.
I am finally stepping out of my comfort zone and starting to develop a more pronounced appreciation for whimsical designs such as this Cynthia Rowley piece. This trench coat meets bubble dress is nothing like I've seen before, but works nicely on June. It has volume and sass but it doesn't cross the line where it looks like a third grade art project. The high waisted belt brings the entire look together and elongates June so much that she looks much taller and leaner. The mesh of the colors are also remarkable, they are all different, yet they balance and compliment each other. June, good call on the shoes, the dress is already busy enough so a neutral was desperately needed to tie the color palette together.
I've got to say, out of all the looks thus far, I think this ensemble is the most practical everyday look. The floral print on top of the turquoise flowy dress is very modern hippie-chic that I absolutely adore. It's very upbeat, fresh and peppy; however, Kate needs some accessory saving. The pink pee toed pumps that she has on is the wrong shade of the pink in the dress and just looks off. Instead I would've paired this ensemble with some high, strappy metallic sandals. Also, since this whole ensemble screams hippie-chic, why not go all out and style her hair hippie inspired as well? I would suggest long, loose curls with a sassy, retro head band.
The concluding piece of the best dressed looks for the week is Zoe in Alexis Mabille. Now, just because she is last, doesn't mean that this ensemble lacks in any area, because it doesn't. First off, I want to commend Zoe for stepping out of the black pump box that so many celebrities cannot step out of, the metallic pumps are a nice touch to this dress. Now, what really makes this dress so unique is the pattern; it's Native American Indian meets a hippie. The color of the dress is phenomenal and the belt was a smart add to bring more shape to the dress. My only complaint would be the clutch. Zoe, just toss it!

Kerry Washington Wish List for 'Thousand Words' Promo Tour

Kerry Washington is about to start her promo tour for 'Thousand Words' with co-star Eddie Murphy. I can not wait to see what Kerry brings to the red carpet as she is one of my favorites as she is always stepping out of the box. This movie is a film that will most likely have just a LA premiere but there may be a chance of one in NYC. Well for LA I would love to see Kerry don one of her favorite go to designers Zuhair Murad. I love this berry red Pre-Fall 2012 for her as I think the color would look amazing on her skin tone. I would just pair this with red of cut out matching Brian Atwood pumps with an ankle strap. And if there is a premiere in New York I would love to see her in this amazing black Cushine et Ochs Fall 2012 RTW dress with an amazing neckline detail and I would like to keep the outfit relatively simple by adding a mosaic mirror clutch by Kotur and a pair of red satin and black patent leather Brian Atwood peep-toe pumps.
