Natalie Portman will make her directorial debut at this years Cannes Film Festival with her film "A Tale of Love and Darkness" earning a special screening slot at the festival. The Christian Dior spokesmodel is contractually obligated to wear at least lone look from the brand during the Cannes Film Festival and I would like to see her get it over with during the films photocall. This simple black dress lined in powder blue from the Christian Dior Fall 2015 RTW with neckline cutouts and a slight rise and fall hem would be perfect for a photocall outside on a terrace overlooking the French Riviera. It has been a real hot minute since we have seen Natalie Portman wear a look designed by the Mulleavy sister for Rodarte. Natalie used to wear the brands creations on a daily basis but since her Academy Award win in 2011 we have not seen Natalie wear one of the brands signature avant garde creations. For the "A Tale of Love and Darkness" premiere I would love to see Natalie rock this avant garde feathered creation from the Rodarte Fall 2015 RTW collection. Not many would be able to pull off such a complicated ensemble but I think that with a chic updo, a pair of gold sandals, and a small gold Dior clutch that Natalie would be a vision wearing this creation.

#Cannes2015: "La Tête Haute" Premiere & Opening Ceremony Wish List
After the star studded "Grace of Monaco," which opened the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, went from Cannes to Lifetime, it seems as if festival director Thierry Frémaux decided to go in a much safer direction for this years opening ceremony by choosing "La Tête Haute" staring Catherine Deneuve and Sara Forestier. Catherine Deneuve is an acclaimed actress but she is far from a fashion plate and I am only moderately interested in what the 71 year old French actress will wear for the festival. For the photocall earlier in the day I would love to see Catherine turn to her friend Karl Largerfeld to wear this beige Chanel Fall 2015 RTW suede shirt dress. This is a perfect Cannes appropriate look, which despite its material and Fall label still comes off as light and breezy. A pair of nude Chanel pumps would finish this look off perfectly for a daytime photocall. For the films premiere and the Opening Ceremony I would love to see the legend wear this simplistic Lanvin Pre-Fall 2015 purple long sleeves silk draped gown, modified to have a little more of a train. I think that Catherine would look elegant, event and age appropriate wearing this stunning creation for the red carpet. A black Chanel clutch, a pair of black peep toe pumps, and some stunning Chopard jewelry would finish this look off perfectly for a Cannes film premiere.
Since I have little expectations from Catherine Deneuve to make my heart stop that responsibility will have to lie upon Sara Forestier. Every time that I have seen the 28 year old actress step out on a red carpet she has worn couture, and hey I ain't complaining. I would love to see Sara wear this purple Giambattista Valli Spring 2015 Couture floral trapeze tea length dress with cap sleeves for the "La Tête Haute" photocall. Only in Cannes could one get away with wearing a couture creation for a daytime photocall. Hair swept up and a pair of simple strappy black sandals would ensure that this is a perfect photocall ensemble. For the big premiere and opening ceremony I would love to see Sara go for something very modern princess with this peach colored Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture embellished embroidered gown. I have been dying to see this gown on the red carpet and I think that Sara would be the perfect person to give this gown its red carpet moment and the occasion is more than worthy of this gown. A pair of gold sandals, a simple gold clutch, and simple earring would ensure that the dress does all of the talking.
The Opening Ceremony is exactly two weeks from today and I am ablaze with Cannes fever. Many Best Dressed of the Year contenders come from this festival and I am sure that this year is not going to be any different.

#Cannes2015: L'Oreal Ladies Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts & Sonam Kapoor Wish List
Julianne Moore worked the 2014 Cannes red carpets last year promoting L'Oreal, "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1," and "Maps to the Stars." This year, as far as I know, Julianne will only be in Cannes as a L'Oreal Paris ambassador. I am excited to see what the Academy Award winning actress will rock to add a little more glamour to the Cannes red carpet. The first look that I would love to see Julianne wear for Cannes 2015 is this amazing Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2015 Couture asymmetrical tuxedo inspired one sleeved gown. Julianne is one of the lovely ladies that I think would take this gown and make it werk for a red carpet. It is simplistically complicated which is the type of look Julianne wears with such ease. The other look that I would love to see Julianne rock for Cannes is this amazing tiered Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 RTW strapless sweetheart neckline organza and taffeta embroidered ball gown. I love a red head in red and I think that this particular hue would look amazing on Julianne. Other possibilities could come from Tom Ford, Balenciaga, and Chanel.
It really made sense for L'Oreal Paris to snatch up Naomi Watts to be a brand ambassador. She always looks stunning and is no stranger to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. I am excited to see what the Aussie film star will rock for her first Cannes as a L'Oreal spokesmodel. The first look that I would love to see Naomi wear is this amazing pink to red fully beaded Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture ball gown. I was really shocked that no one snatched this gown up during awards season which just means that it needs to make a Cannes Film Festival appearance. Naomi tends to stick to lighter less bold colors but I think that for such a major stage that this gown is perfection. Naomi is a huge fan of Marchesa, she stunned last year in a dusty blue goddess gown from the brand at the "How to Train Your Dragon 2" premiere, and I think that this re-embroidered Marchesa Fall 2015 RTW halter mermaid gown that features beaded fringe on the mock sash waist. This is a very Naomi type of dress and I am kind of expecting her to wear this amazing creation at some point during the Cannes Film Festival. Some Chopard and Bulgari jewels will undoubtedly finish off these stunning looks.
One L'Oreal girl that I am most excited to see take to the Cannes Film Festival red carpet is Indian beauty Sonam Kapoor. It took a few years for Sonam to get her red carpet footing at the legendary film festival but honestly the past two years Sonam has blown me away so I have high expectations for her to blow me away yet again this year. What I love about Sonam is that while she wears the biggest couture gowns for the festival she also always steps out wearing one couture sari to pay homage to her Indian roots. Last year I came really close to putting the Anamika Khanna Couture sari that Sonam wore for the "Foxcatcher" premiere on my best dressed of the year list, the look was in my top 20 looks of last year and was cut at the last minute. I would love to see Sonam wear this Anamika Khanna Resort 2015 cream sari with gold embroidery for one of her Cannes red carpet appearances. I love how chic and modern this sari is while still being very traditional at the same time. The other look that I would die to see Sonam wear is this Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture hand painted silk floral gown with a high neckline. This gown screams to be worn at Cannes and I think that Sonam has the elegance, grace, and poise to make this gown sing a beautiful song on the Cannes red carpet. Like I said I am praying that Sonam really does blow me away again at Cannes.
Only 14 more days until the Cannes Film Festival kicks off. I wonder who will join Sienna Miller, Catherine Deneuve, and Sara Forestier on the Opening Ceremony red carpet and beyond. Premiere wish lists start tomorrow! Are you guys as excited as I am?

#Cannes2015: L'Oreal Ladies Freida Pinto, Helen Mirren & Jane Fonda Wish List
I am just going to leave this here to remember what could have been since I have been informed that due to scheduling conflicts that Indian beauty Freida Pinto will not be making her L'Oreal Spokesmodel appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Let us have a moment of silence for the major fashion moments that will never happen in part of this conflict.
While Freida Pinto is going to be MIA this year, we might have the first appearance from newly signed L'Oreal Paris spokesmodel Helen Mirren. I absolutely love when I get to see Helen Mirren on the red carpet because she knows how to werk a red carpet even at the prime age of 69. I absolutely adore the British stars red carpet sartorial style, its elegant and age appropriate yet very sexy. The first look that I would love to see Helen wear on the red carpet during the Cannes Film Festival is this stunning nude Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture long sleeved embellished beaded lace ball gown. This would be the epitome of defying age. I think that Helen would look absolutely stunning wafting down the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals in this creation. I would have the skirt lined to remove the sheer see though leggy interpretation. Helen loves herself a Dolce & Gabbana frock for a red carpet ensemble and I am sure that at least one look that Helen will wear on the red carpet will come from the Dolce & Gabbana atelier. I picked this yellow and green floral embroidered gown for Helen to wear, which is more appropriate for a party and not the main red carpet but I believe that Helen will most likely wear a custom creation for the Cannes red carpet.
Helen Mirren is up against some red carpet completion as Cannes veteran Jane Fonda, at the age of 77, for Best Dressed Lady From Over the Hill. I am excited to see what Jane is going to bring, despite the ugly Donna Karan gown that she wore to the White House Correspondents Dinner, especially after the killer ruby red Elie Saab couture gown at last years festival. The first look that I picked that I would love to see Jane wear for the Cannes Film Festival is this purple, bubble gum, and white abstract thistle print Schiaparelli Spring 2014 Couture off the shoulder long sleeved gown. I think that this gown is perfection for this red carpet because it is bold yet elegant and perfect for a red carpet on the French Riviera. The final look for today's with list is this amazing fitted Zac Posen Fall 2015 RTW long sleeved gown that would show off the actresses famous curves and be sexy and age appropriate.
The Cannes Film Festival is now just 15 days out and the red carpet will be packed with stars. Who are you most looking forward to seeing?

#Cannes2015: L'Oreal Ladies Doutzen Kroes, Eva Longoria & Fan Bingbing Wish List
Doutzen Kroes always works the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, sans last year when she was pregnant, and I am excited to see what she will wear this year. I remember a few years ago Doutzen attended a premiere wearing one of the big ball gowns from the very first Giambattista Valli Haute Couture collection and I fell immediately in love. I have yet to be as wowed as I was in that moment, but I am hoping that this year will be Doutzens year. I am picking this white and yellow ombre Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture shirt and ruffled ball skirt. There are only a few women that I would truly love to see wearing this creation and Doutzen is defiantly one of them. Since I picked such a statement making dress for the first look for Doutzen that I picked this stunning silver crystal beaded Atelier Versace Spring 2015 Couture gown. I would have the gown completely lined which I think would only enhance the glamour. Each look that I have picked gives off a different type of glamor. The Giambattista Valli gown gives off a regal vibe while the Atelier Versace gowns showcases old Hollywood glamour like no other.
If there is one woman who knows how to work a Cannes Film Festival red carpet it is Eva Longoria who has been working the festival for L'Oreal for years now. I have to say that Eva rarely gets it right outside of Cannes but when she steps out on the hallowed red carpet she always brings the top notch level of red carpet perfection. The moment that this electric blue strapless column gown with a dramatic train from the Georges Hobeika Fall 2014 Couture collection walk the runway I put it on reserve for Eva for Cannes. This gown needs a dramatic stage and what more dramatic of a stage that that at the Palais de Festivals. The other look that I would love to see Eva rock on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet is this ruby red Zuhair Murad Fall 2014 Couture gathered old Hollywood style gown. This gown would evoke Eva's inner Latina Grace Kelly for the worlds most glamorous red carpet. I honestly can't wait to see what Eva will wear on the Cannes red carpet.
Last year was the first year since 2010 that Fan Bingbing missed the Cannes Film Festival, and I was very saddened. I am hoping that the Chinese actress will be back on the Cannes Film Festival circuit this year. Recently though Fan has not been making me lust after her red carpet looks, though many have not been gowns and all of her looks have been paired with quadruple stacked platform shoes which look more like hooves that shoes. I picked this amazing grey feathered Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture tulle ball gown for Fan for the Cannes Film Festival because who better fan her, maybe save for Rita Ora, to make this gown come to life of the red carpet and truly be able to pull it off. The Chinese beauty is known for her love the avant garde and all things glamorous and this Elie Saab gown really pulls the two together in one stunning look. The other look I picked for Mrs Bingbing s this stunning royal blue Ralph & Russo Fall 2014 Couture satin ballgown. I picked this gown because it is a classically elegant ensemble which might be needed to counteract those who wont love the avant garde Elie Saab ensemble.
The Cannes Film Festival is just 16 days away and I am so looking forward to seeing what all of the stars wear. Is there someone that you are most looking forward to seeing? Stay tuned to the site as I make all my red carpet wishes and then keep you covered via my Twitter and Facebook accounts on the day to day happenings during the event!
Top 6 Looks from the White House Correspondents Dinner
This was probably the biggest, and best, surprises of the night last night at the 2015 White House Correspondents Dinner. Gillian Jacobs, of "Community" fame, stepped out on the red carpet wearing a custom Peter Pilotto gown with a stunning abstract print. For such a political occasion we usually see prints set to the wayside but Gillian embraced it, and also kudos to her for picking a British designer to wear for one of the biggest political events in America.
A slew of other beauties really brought it to the red carpet last night as well. I loved Jenna Dewan-Tatum in her black Reem Acra ballgown that features a grey bodice peplum. Jenna oozed 1960's Hollywood glamour. Supermodel Chanel Iman looked impeccably chic wearing a Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture light blue chiffon goddess gown. Chanel was the only lady to show up wearing couture and she wore it amazingly. Brit Marling was another lady who decided to pick up a gown from a British designer, like Gillian, but her gown came via Roksanda. This gown was absolutely amazing, the stunning bold color and the even bolder color blocking. Last year Irina Shayk wore an Atelier Versace hooded jumpsuit, which I thought was extremely tacky, so this year her light pink Sophie Theallett halter silk gown was a welcome sight. She exuded elegance and shunned her normal overt sexiness, and in the process looked even more stunning. Michelle Monaghan looked impeccably chic wearing a custom made maroon and black Prabal Gurung gown, which I actually thought was Roland Mouret. This look would have been my best dressed if Michelle had done something else with her hair, it really let the whole look down.
What do you think? Who was your best dressed? Anyone you see here that you don't think should be? Anyone you think I should have added?

#Cannes2015: L'Oreal Ladies Aishwarya Rai, Blake Lively & Cheryl Fernadez-Versini Wish List
Bollywood starlet Aishwarya Rai has been a queen of the Cannes Film Festival red carpet for years. The L'Oreal Paris ambassador to India always knows how to BRING it to the red carpet. Last year he major look was a gold Roberto Cavalli couture gown that she worked like it owed her years of back rent. I am excited to see what the Indian beauty will wear this year. I would love to see Aishwarya dig into the Armani Prive archives and pick up this green layered strapless fully beaded mermaid gown from the Armani Prive Spring 2012 Couture collection. I have been long awaiting someone to pick this gown up and wear it on the red carpet and I think that Aishwarya would be the perfect woman to give this gown its moment. The other look I would love to see Aishwarya to wear on the red carpet at the Palais de Festivals would be the grey Elie Saab Spring 2015 Couture beaded and feathered cap sleeved a-line gown. This is a perfect statement for the Cannes red carpet because it is glamorous while taking a major risk, and the feathers would flow beautifully with the sea breeze from the French Riviera. Flawless hair and make-up courtesy of the L'Oreal Paris masters and Chopard jewels will finish this look off perfectly for the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
Blake Lively slayed her first ever Cannes Film Festival last year. In fact her custom black and white Gucci Premiere gown that she wore for the "Captives" premiere topped my 2014 Best Dressed of the Year list. I am hoping for a major repeat performance this year. While Blake will most likely wear a custom Gucci gown I decided to stray away from that as the way Gucci is heading has me very scared. I instead went to the king of red carpet glamour and this stunning white Elie Saab Spring 2015 RTW fully beaded sheath gown with flowing cape train. This gown would be an amazing glamorous statement for Blake to make on the Cannes red carpet. Blake has been a busy bee as of late, she had 10 looks in 1 day this week, whilst promoting her new film "The Age of Adeline" and it seems like she has no intentions of slowing down. The other gown I picked for Blake is this absolutely stunning Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 RTW gown with its extreme sweetheart neckline. I am sure that this gown will make an appearance between the White House Correspondents Dinner tonight, the Met Ball on May 4, or the Cannes Film Festival.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini (Cole) usually only jets to the French Riviera for one premiere for the Cannes Film Festival, while her other L'Oreal spokesmodels usually do at least two premieres and a few parties. I am hoping that Cheryl will take a break from her oh so busy schedule to walk the carpet at two premieres this year. The first look I picked for the British pop star is an avant garde ivory and gold Georges Chakra Spring 2015 Couture strapless gown. I wouldn't normally associate Georges Chakra gowns with the Cannes Film Festival, only Elizabeth Banks has made me love one of his gowns at the festival in 2010, as I normally associate Georges Chakra with country music awards shows. I think that Cheryl would make this gown look like an expensive modern twist on a classic silhouette. The other look I would love to see Cheryl rock on the Cannes red carpet is this Stephane Rolland Spring 2015 Couture silver crystal embellished long sleeved top and white flowing chiffon skirt. This look is sleek, modern, and glamorous and perfect for Cannes where modernity and glamour are on the menu for a perfect Cannes red carpet look.

2015 White House Correspondents Dinner: Michelle Obama Wish List
First Lady Michelle Obama will be on hand on tomorrow night for the White House Correspondents Dinner, along with a host of VIPs like Jane Fonda, Ciara, Chrissy Teigan, Lucy Liu, Connie Britton, Kerry Washington, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Michelle Monaghan, and Julie Bowen. What the difference between the VIPs and the First Lady is that Michelle will only be photographed from mid-thigh up as she takes her seat at the head table at the dinner. It is a shame because I would have loved to have seen the head to toe looks of many of the gowns that Michelle has worn to the White House Correspondents Dinner. While I would love to see this water inspired Carolina Herrera Fall 2015 RTW a line dress worked on the red carpet by the likes of Camilla Belle or Dianna Agron so that we could see the full dramatic shape of the gown, I would still love to see the First Lady wear it tomorrow night. I pick a gown for Michelle for the White House Correspondents Dinner based on the tops visual interest, and the water pattern embroidery on this gown definitely has that visual interest.

Runway Report: Truly Zac Posen for David's Bridal Fall 2015
Truly Zac Posen is in its fourth season at David's Bridal and the collection has been booming with success. I have to say that I love that Zac creates a fine diffusion of his eponymous main line and makes his look accessible to the real woman. The biggest princess gown in the collection is the most expensive topping out at $1,850. Zac said that this collection is really all about the New York woman, sexy and glamorous. The looks that Zac created for the evening wear side of the collection would fit right in on his runway and on the backs of his celebrity clientele. The collection will be available in Davids Bridal stores and online this fall. What can you not wait to pick up?

Runway Report: Houghton Spring 2016 Bridal
Katherine Polk, founder and creative director of cool girl brand Houghton, looked to the 1970's and bohemian gypsies as her inspiration for the Houghton Spring 2016 Bridal collection. Katherine knows that her bride is not one that wants layers of tulle and pageantry. The Houghton bride is one that is a free spirit and this collection definitely embodies that spirit. You probably won't see any of these Houghton gowns walking down the aisle at your local cathedral but they definitely fit the woodsy, beach, field of flowers type of brides. I can also see some of these gowns transcending brides and becoming stunning red carpet moments. The champagne and floral print high low gown bellow is perfect for a movie premiere. What do you think? Hippie chic or run the other way?

Runway Report: Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 Bridal
Peter Copping showed his first ever bridal collection for Oscar de la Renta last week. The Spring 2016 Bridal collection was a beautiful all white extension of the Fall 2015 Ready to Wear collection. Many of the looks shown were recreations of looks that Peter created for his much buzzed about debut at Oscar. Anyone else recognize Sienna Miller's Academy Awards dress over there on the far right? The only color in the collection was a small shocking pink waist band that was on the very first look. I keep getting more and more excited to see what Peter will continue to bring to Oscar de la Renta and this collection surely keeps by hope higher than ever!

Runway Report: Vera Wang Spring 2016 Bridal
Leave it to Vera Wang to show a bridal collection that goes totally to the left when everyone is showcasing tulle ball gowns. Sex and sensuality was the center of the Vera Wang Spring 2016 Bridal collection. What I love most about the Vera Wang collection is that stars take these creations and then have the white ones dyed for red carpet apperances. I have to say that I am quite excited to see who will get their paws on the black feather ball skirt and strapless bralet top, for the Met Ball perhaps? The bones of this collection will make for some stunning bridal moments for the lucky ladies who will get to wear these gowns on their big day.
What do you think about this collection? View the whole collection on WWD.

Fast Fashion: Lily Pulitzer for Target
Targets around the country, well at least throughout the southern United States, were filled with young ladies and sorority sisters this morning who were all on hunt of the most desired designer collaboration that Target might have ever launched. Lily Pulitzer for Target literally just showcases the bright bold candy colored patterns that the high end Lily line is known for. I personally know that all of the Phi Mu, Zeta, and Chi Omegas at my university barely slept in order to be able to get their hands on some of the pieces in this collection.
I have selected five of my favorite pieces from the collection. Up first is this amazing sugary pink and creamsicle colored "Giraffeeey" linen shift dress ($38). Emmy Rossum rocked this dress on the red carpet at the Lily Pulitzer for Target collection launch party in NYC last week, and was one of my favorites. The dress is just so fun because from first look I didn't realize the dress had a giraffe print but that just adds to the sophisticated fun that Lily is known for. Next is a multi colored strapless ankle length dress in a "Nosie Posey" print ($34). This dress is perfect for picnics in the park. A fun jumpsuit is a perfect way to mix it up at your next summer barbeque. This blue and whit strapless printed flowing jumpsuit in an "Upstream" pattern ($40) is perfect for such an occasion. The moment I saw this aqua and white "Sea Urchin for You" flowy spaghetti strap dress ($30), I immediately sent it to several of my friends (much like the Giraffeeey dress) so that they would add it to their wardrobes. Perfect for a beach side cocktail party I can't wait to see which of my friends actually took my advice. And last but not least I have selected the "Nosie Posey" shift dress that Camila Alves rocked on the red carpet at the NYC Launch. A perfect dress for champagne brunch on a Sunday morning. I have to say that while I have never really been a fan of Lily Pulitzer, this collection is perfection and I am excited to see what pieces I will see around my college campus.

On the Newsstands: Kendall Jenner for Harper's Bazaar US May 2015
Model of the Moment, Kendall Jenner, got her first major couture cover wearing Chanel Spring 2015 Couture on the subscriber cover of Harper's Bazaar US shot by Karl Lagerfeld. Well, I can't say that I love it, but I also can not say that I hate it. I think I would have liked it more without the tulle wrapped beachcomer hat that the dress was paired with on the runway. I am not Kendall's biggest fan, I can't say that I am a fan at all, but since this is a thing I think it will be interesting to see what the rest of the editorial looks like.
Fashion on Film: "Dior & I" Review
Yesterday morning I
attended the Sarasota Film Festival screening of the documentary "Dior
& I." The film chronicles the journey of the creation of the first
collection that Raf Simons presided over as Creative Director of Christian
Dior, Fall 2012 Couture. What I love about this film is that it really showed
the process of Raf engulfing himself in the Dior brand, in just eight weeks. We
see Raf start the ideas for this collection by immersing himself with pieces
from the Dior archive. Taking a look at the craftsmanship of the Couture and
building his idea. Labeled a modernist many doubted Rafs appointment to Dior,
and though we have seen his many successes since then we see Raf trying to
combat this idea. What Raf has intended for the House of Christian Dior is not
minimalism, but instead modernity. When viewing the archival pieces formulating
what his approach to the collection would be one thing that Raf did was view a
cocktail dress and then tucked up the skirt to make it a top and then showed it
with pants. This was the beginning of the collection.
Raf did not take no for any answer for this collection, as I am sure that he does in the creation of all his collections. He wanted to take these abstract paintings by Sterling Ruby and have them printed using a technique that Dior himself used so often where the print is not printed on the fabric, but printed on the threads and then woven together. The head of fabrics said that it couldn't be done, Raf said it can and it will. The four textile creators that the Maison uses to get it's fabric said they couldn't make it work, Raf said find someone who will. When the fabrics finally showed up in Maison he was beyond elated. Raf loves abstract art. It is one of his true joys in life, and he made walking art pieces (these pieces then ended up on the backs of the likes of Jennifer Lawrence and Zhang Ziyi.)
What really struck me throughout this film is that despite being a no hold barred kind of personality, was the relationship that Raf had with the Atelier staff. You really see that the staff in the Ateliers (Dior has two: one for dresses and one for suiting) really were a family and they accepted Raf, and his right hand assistant Pieter Mulier, into the house with open arms. Some members of the Atelier have been with the brand for 40+ years and seen the likes of John Galliano, Gianfranco Ferre, Marc Bohan, & Yves St Laurent all come and go. Each ushering in a era for the house upon their arrivals with their interpretations of the staples left behind by Christian Dior.
Another touching moment of the film was actually seeing Raf deal with the monstrous legacy before him. Dior is one of the worlds most recognizable brands and he had big shoes to fill. In one scene, having tea on the grounds of Christian Dior's seaside home (which is now a museum), Raf admits to putting down "Dior by Dior" because he saw himself drawing comparisons and making the shadow of the legacy even larger. He goes on to say that he is I. Now way as talented as Monsieur Dior ever was and that he was terrified that he wouldn't be able to fill the legends shoes. As I watched Raf, on the day of the Fall 2012 Couture presentation, come face to face with this legacy it was a moment to behold. The man stood at the monitors watching the collection that he envisioned finally take it's place on the stage and with each look that took the runway he welled up with more and more tears. I found myself welling up watching because it showed just how grateful he was to be in that position. I defiantly recommend that you a go out and see this film. You will laugh, cry, and be left in amazement.

2015 Tribeca Film Festival: "Franny" Premiere Wish List
On Friday night Dakota Fanning's newest film "Franny," which co-stars Richard Gere & Theo James, will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. I love Tribeca because the stars just show up "laid back." Well I kinda want to see Dakota look a little more than laid back on the Tribeca red carpet wearing something other than nude or black. I would love to see Dakota wear this Mardi Gras colored Rodarte Fall 2015 RTW striped sequin sleeveless knee length dress. Dakota always looks fantastic in the Mulleavy sisters creations and I think that this would no doubt be one of her best looks in recent appearances. This look is all about the color. I would even see this look with nice combed hair down, a black clutch and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals to ensure that Dakota rocks the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival.
New York Fashion Weeks Moves For Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear Shows
After getting the boot from Lincoln Center after the Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear shows IMG Fashion (the official planners of New York Fashion Week) has announced that the Spring 2016 Ready-to-Wear collections, that used to show at the tents, will be presented at one of two locations. The first is Skylight at Moynihan Station in Midtown Manhattan and Skylight Clarkson Square in SOHO. It seems as if the days of the shows being held in giant un-tentlike tents are gone. With IMG also acquiring MADE fashion week, held at Milk Studios in Chelsea, it seems like Fashion Week keeps edging closer and closer to downtown. This is a move that doesn't surprise me. Vogue, and all of Conde Nast Publications, moved their offices back in January downtown to the new One World Trade Center "Freedom Tower" and almost all of the designers are headquartered in SOHO, Chelsea, the Garment District, and the lower side of Midtown that the move seemed fitting. And let me tell you as someone who has had to book it from Milk Studios in Chelsea to Lincoln Center that I will be grateful for the lower Manhattan locations making it easier to run, walk, and hail cabs to make it to shows at different locations on time.

2015 MTV Movie Awards: Elizabeth Banks, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence & Jennifer Lopez Wish List
The 2015 MTV Movie Awards will take place on Sunday night I am very excited to see what all of the stars will be rocking to the edgiest of the movie awards. Elizabeth Banks is nominated for Best On-Screen Transformation for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1." I am super excited to see what Elizabeth will rock on the red carpet as she has always been one of my favorite red carpet stars. I would love to see Elizabeth rock this David Koma Fall 2015 RTW embellished a-line cocktail dress. I think think that this dress is very simple and classic in its silhouette, but the embellishments help make it pack a punch. A pair of strappy black sandals, a blue Edie Parker clutch, red lip, and a simple hairstyle would ensure that Elizabeth hits all the red carpet high notes.
Emma Stone holds nominations at Sunday nights MTV Movie Awards for Best Actress thanks to her role in "Birdman" and for Best Kiss thanks to her kiss with Andrew Garfield in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Emma, much like Elizabeth, is one that I always adore seeing on the red carpet and coming off of an amazing awards season run I am excited to see what she is going to wear. I would love see Emma don this amazing Mary Katrantzou Fall 2015 RTW 'Orlinda' pink and red dress that features a shift silhouette with a velvet flocked tulle bodice, a
square neckline, embossed wool detailing in a cube pattern, and a
jacquard skirt with hand embroidered PVC embellishment at the hem. This is an out there look that is going to take someone with a lot of red carpet presence to pull off and I believe that Emma has what it takes. Finish the look with a pair of simple black sandals and a fresh face of makeup will ensure that Emma slays the MTV Movie Awards red carpet.
Jennifer Lawrence has 3 nominations at the MTV Movie Awards and I am sure that she will take home at least one golden popcorn award. I loved Jennifer in her updated Dior couture version of the Pretty Woman hooker dress and I am sure that the Dior spokesmodel will wear a creation from the house for the MTV Movie Awards. I would pick this very simple black cap-sleeved Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture mini-dress that features sequin embellishments down the center. I think that despite this being a basic LBD that Jennifer would look super chic and best dressed worthy. A black Dior clutch and a pair of blue sandals would add the perfect pizazz to this ensemble.
"The Boy Next Door" has earned Jennifer Lopez a Best Scared-As-Shit Performance nomination at the MTV Movie Awards. We are so used to seeing JLo wear embellished mini dresses that I think that this blue and white Bibhu Mohapatra Fall 2015 RTW strapless column dress would be a perfect ensemble for her to switch things up for the MTV Awards. Not keeping a bit of sparkle away for too long I would imagine that Jennifer would finish this look with a blue Edie Parker confetti clutch, a pair of nude pumps, a sexy smokey eye, thick sexy hair, and some sort of diamonds somewhere. I think that this look could have the potential to be a favorite.

Top 10 Looks from March 2015
They say that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Well in regards to fashion that was surely not the case. The red carpets were ablaze all month long and it was hard for me to choose just ten looks for me to feature. Lily James shedded her princess gowns and Disney inspired looks to work a sleek modern custom Balenciaga grey strapless gown with gold button details for the "Cinderella" premiere in London. This was more on an iconic look for me than the princess statement that she made a the films premiere in LA wearing Elie Saab Couture because it was an unexpected choice. This will definitely be on my mind when I am crafting my Best Dressed of the Year list.
Jessica Alba was spotted out and about running from meeting to meeting in New York City in early March looking impossibly chic. Jessica snatched up a peach head to toe ensemble from the Narciso Rodriguez Fall 2015 RTW runway collection that she paired with a Kenzo bag. I love that she took this head to toe runway look and owned it on the sidewalk runway. Christina Hendricks helped celebrate the finale of her hit series "Mad Men" ad the Black and Red Ball wearing a custom Zac Posen emerald gown with jacquard leopard spots on the hem. This gown also included a detachable ball skirt, that I was not a huge fan of. The red carpet didn't seem grand enough for a ball skirt, but the more streamlined silhouette featured here was perfection. The beginning of March ushered in Paris Fashion Week which had celebrity packed front rows. Hailee Steinfeld was the stand out of all the ladies who packed the Christian Dior Fall 2015 RTW presentation. I thought that her orange Christian Dior long sleeved dress, which she paired with Dior accessories including a white clutch, green knee high boots and stunning cat-eye sunglasses, was the perfect look for a front row. Hailee looked modern, youthful and incredibly chic taking her front row seat.
What would a best dressed list be without a Chastain appearance? Jessica Chastain became the third person, behind Sienna Miller and Anna Wintour, to be dressed in the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2015 RTW Collection. The houses first collection since the death of the namesake and the take over by Peter Copping. What I love about this look is that the black and white floral tapestry inspired long sleeve gown is perfection on the red headed beauty. This look evokes the 1960s to me and I could see the likes of Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn loving this gown. Simple hair and makeup were all that were needed to finish this look off perfectly for the Jameson Empire Awards. For the first ever amfAR Hong Kong Gala, Hong Kong film star Carina Lau wowed in a custom gown version of a cocktail dress presented in the Schiaparelli Spring 2015 Couture collection. I quickly developed a love affair with this collection and so far every look that has hit a red carpet from it has been utter perfection. The beaded necklace detail with hands clasping in the back made this an avant garde take on a very classic look. A look that I believe that Mademoiselle Schiaparelli would be proud of. The fight for breakout star of the year is going to be a tough one. Carmen Ejogo has been making the red carpet rounds since the premiere of her Oscar nominated film "Selma," and has really been coming into her own. I loved her black and white Balmain sequined window pane long sleeved mini dress that was worn to BET's "Black Girls Rock." What I loved about this look is that Carmen took this dress and went for full glamour with the styling. From the bouncy pinned back behind one ear curls, to the matte red lip and the black black sandals just made this look perfection.
Only Charlize Theron, and of course Angelina Jolie, could don a simple black dress on the red carpet and still end up on my Best Dressed of the Month list. For the Parisian premiere of her film "Dark Places," Charlize wore a stunning custom Christian Dior Couture black beaded strapless knee length dress which she paired with a pair of black Dior sandals, a black Dior satin clutch and Jessica McCormack diamond jewelry. What made this such a major statement was just the air about Charlize. She knows how to own a red carpet and own this one she did. Kerry Washington continued to be one of my favorite red carpet ladies wearing a black, yellow and maroon Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2015 mini dress for PALEYFEST LA presents "Scandal." I love how Kerry styled her look oping for complimentary yellow pumps, a nondescript black clutch, a berry lip and slicked back pulled up hair. All of these additions just made sure that this was a best dressed worth look. When I saw Kate Bosworth at the Fine Arts Museum San Francisco Mid-Winter gala in this red and white Christian Dior Spring 2014 Couture strapless gown I let out a little cheer. I have been obsessed with this gown since it was first presented in January of last year and I am glad that Kate really did this gown justice. The gown itself is just so detailed all of the circular details are made up by hand place sequin details. Toussled locks, a red lip and a white Christian Dior clutch made this look all about the dress which, as the work of art that this gown is, should have been the case.
