2014 Academy Awards: Best Actress Nominee Wish List

ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THE ACADEMY AWARDS ARE OFFICIALLY ALMOST UPON US! Next Sunday, March 2nd, the biggest names in Hollywood will glide down the red carpet and into the Dolby Theater in LA to award the greatest cinematic achievements in the past year. Today I am going to cover all of the red carpet darlings who are nominated for Best Actress. Up first we have Amy Adams who snagged a nomination for her work in 'American Hustle.' Over awards season we have seen Amy play with fashion giving us a bevy of glamorous looks that were mostly out of her normal comfort zone. One brand that I have yet to see Amy don for a red carpet recently is Giambattista Valli and I am hoping that she has been saving this brand for the 2014 Academy Awards. I think that this Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 Couture gown with a cream peplum bodice embellished with its blue floral detail and its rich blue skirt are the perfect way to show the world that she is nominated, she is a contender, and that she is beautiful. All I would add to this look are some simple silver Casadei pumps, a pair of simple sapphire and diamond cluster earrings, and a very simple diamond bracelet so that this dress and Amy's grace just shows through.
Going into the 2014 Academy Awards next Sunday night Cate Blanchett is already going to be a winner. No matter what she wears, or if she takes home a little gold man, Cate will most likely take the top spot on every Best Dressed list around the world. I am almost positive that Cate will take home the award for Best Actress for her work in 'Blue Jasmine' and I would love to see her doing so wearing this absolutely amazing Elie Saab Spring 2014 Couture gown. This off the shoulder cap sleeve gown with exaggerated hips and frilly floral embroidery would look so elegant on Cate with her peachy complexion. Not many women in Hollywood would be able to pull off this absolutely stunning gown but I do believe that Cate has the regal elegance about her to not only make it work but to make this gown her bitch. A simple pair of gold Sandals and a pair of gold tassel drop earrings will make sure that this look is 100% completed for Cate to wear on the red carpet at the Oscars.
There has not been ONE Meryl Streep look that I have liked this entire red carpet season. I am hoping that the Hollywood legend really brings it to the red carpet as she beat out Emma Thompson's performance in 'Saving Mr. Banks' to get here. I think that this deep green Zac Posen Fall 2014 RTW gown that features elegant draping and long sleeves would be the perfect option to redeem Meryl on the red carpet. This gown is sophisticated and age appropriate without being frumpy. Meryl should leave her sunglasses at home, carry a gold clutch, and slip into so gold Salvatore Ferragamo peep toe pumps to complete this stunning look for the actress nominated for her bajillionth Academy Award.
'Gravity' nominated star Sandra Bullock has also had a pretty good run this awards season and I am praying that it comes to a glamorous close next Sunday at the Academy Awards. I am betting that Sandy will turn to J. Mendel for her Oscar dress. The two have had a very good red carpet relationship with each other and I am really excited to see the two pair up again. This brilliant royal blue J. Mendel Fall 2014 RTW gown took to the runway in New York City during Fashion Week and I knew right then that I had found Sandy's gown. The simple silhouette with just a few details will make this an absolutely stunning red carpet moment. This simple gown calls for a big assortment of accessories. A blue and silver Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver Jimmy Choo sandals, some statement diamond and sapphire drop earrings, a diamond bracelet, and a bold sapphire cocktail ring will give Sandy another amazing red carpet moment.
