2016 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 4

Following her stunning white Yves Saint Laurent Couture goddess gown at the Golden Globe Awards and the announcement of her Academy Award nomination I expect that we will only see Saoirse on her top form from here on out. I was starting to doubt if I was actually going to like anything that the young Irish-American actress was going to wear on the red carpet but I am keeping my fingers crossed that we have come past that point. Nominated for Best Actress at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday I am hoping that Saoirse will break out some Chanel Couture for the red carpet. I would love to see Saoirse wearing this army green tulle Chanel Fall 2015 Couture full skirted cocktail dress with gold beaded embroidery on the bodice. While Saoirse has never worn a couture look from Chanel on a red carpet, what better time is there than for the race to the Oscars? Finished with a simple pair of gold sandals, a sleek up-do, and a fresh face of makeup and this will be a triumphant moment for Saoirse in her first Chanel Couture.
Sarah Paulson is not usually one of my favorites to see step out on a red carpet, I tend to find her stiff and standard. I am hoping that for the Critics Choice Awards that she softens her look just a little. With a well deserved Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series nomination for her role as Sally on American Horror Story: Hotel I am hoping that Sarah will give me a wonderful red carpet moment. I picked this tea rose Prabal Gurung Spring 2016 RTW ensemble which consists of a crepe de chine draped halter blouse and chiffon fit to flare evening skirt. I think that this relaxed look is more Sarah's speed, and the last time she wore Prabal at the 2015 Emmys she looked amazing, so I think that she could make this look work on the Critics red carpet. I would keep the styling chic and elegant with a gold clutch, a pair of gold peep toe pumps, a wavy hairstyle and a pink lip to ensure that Sarah looks beautiful on the red carpet.
Riding on the coattails of her Golden Globe Awards win for her role as Cookie on Empire I am sure that we will see Taraji P. Henson on the red carpet Sunday at the Critics Choice awards where she is nominated for the same role. Taraji is known now for not leaving Cookie on the floor when shooting is done giving us diva-Cookie-realness on the red carpet at all times. I am starting to give up on expecting her to give us glamour but I am hoping that she learns how to finesse her looks. At the Globes her Stella McCartney gown was stunning but where it should have been fitted perfectly it looked like it was bulging and that put me off from liking the look. If Taraji were to wear this black Mugler Spring 2016 RTW gown which sheath silhouette with a metal embellished v-neckline, leather detailing, and a front split I would be praying that she made sure that she has a good pair of spanks on. This gown gives us that glamorous sex siren style that Taraji is in favor of and I think that she could pull it off. A light lined eye, a red lip, a black Rauwolf clutch, and a pair of strappy black sandals would ensure that this is a great look for Taraji on the red carpet.
I am still trying to get a handle on what Tracee Ellis Ross's red carpet style really is. I have seen so many different types of looks on the Black-ish star but none that have seemed truly genuine. For the Critics Choice Awards I picked this gardenia white Elie Saab Spring 2016 RTW gown rendered in lace and features an a-line silhouette with a jewel neckline and an alternating geometric and floral pattern. I think that this chic more casual side of glamour is more Tracee's MO as the high glamour thing made her look uncomfortable. I think that with such a chic gown like this that Tracee would have a hard time not enjoying wearing it on the red carpet. Finish in a very chic way with a Rafe New York 'Sara' minaudiere (which is made of blacktab shell, blacklip mother of pearl, and white hammershell set in a brass inlay) to add some more visual interest, a pair of gold sandals, a red lip and a chic updo to ensure that this look is Critics Choice Awards red carpet ready.
Rounding out my wish lists for the 2016 Critics Choice Awards red carpet is Best Actress in a Drama Series nominee for How To Get Away With Murder's Viola Davis. I think that Viola has a lot of ups and downs on the red carpet. The Marchesa gown that she wore to the Golden Globe Awards this past Sunday was a little too much for her as I think simpler silhouettes tend to work better on Viola. I picked this white J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2016 halter gown which features black corded detailing and a flowing skirt because I think that this gown is simple enough with just the right amount of detailing to give Viola one of her best looks on a red carpet ever. Finish with a white Jimmy Choo Tube Clutch, a pair of black sandals, a red lip, curly bob, and diamond cluster earrings and this would be a personal best for Viola.

2016 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 3

I was really surprised that Kirsten Dunst opted for an all black velvet Valentino Couture gown for the Golden Globe Awards this past week, she looked beautiful but I was expecting something major from Rodarte. I am hoping that when Kirsten steps out for the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday that she gives me something interesting to look at. I picked this white cold shouldered Givenchy Pre-Fall 2016 embroidered gown. While Kirsten has never worn Givenchy in the past this gown is very much her type of look, classic with a bit of a twist. I love seeing Kirsten, with her peachy pink pale skin, wearing light colors and I think she would look so angelic wearing this white gown. Finished with a vintage inspired updo, a lined eye, red lip, diamond drop earrings, a silver clutch, and a pair of silver sandals and this look is ready for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet.
Krysten Ritter is one of the most underrated style stars in the red carpet world. There is very rarely a time when Krysten steps out on a red carpet and I don't love what she is wearing and I am sure that will be the case when she steps out on the red carpet Sunday night at the Critics Choice Awards. Krysten, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the Netflix series Jessica Jones, would look amazing wearing this black Carolina Herrera Spring 2016 RTW gown which features a deep v-neck, an a-line floor length skirt, and illusion seams throughout. This gown is elegant but extremely modern which is what I think would look amazing on Krysten on this red carpet. I don't expect to see the same type of big gowns we saw on the red carpet at the Globes. Styled with a Rauwolf violet 'Castellum' gemstone clutch, a pair of black sandals, old Hollywood waves, a smokey eye, and a pair of Chopard diamond drop earrings and Krysten will hold her own against some of the most revered red carpet stars.
Mary J. Blige is not one I usually get excited about when it comes to the red carpet. I tend to feel like her style is stuck in the 90s or early 2000's. I am interested to see what she would wear on the red carpet of the Critics Choice Awards where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series for The Wiz! Live. I decided to go with something a little more modern and edgy for Mary, since she is more of a recording artist than a TV star, by picking this white Jonathan Simkhai Pre-Fall 2016 3D mesh jumpsuit which features a one shoulder neckline with cascading ruffle trim, illusion cutout detailing, a fluid wide leg pant, and one ruffle slashed pant leg. I think that this is a perfect modern look for Mary to rock which still has a load of glamour, the wide leg pant and split mimic the idea of an evening. Finish the look with a sleek sliver metal clutch, a pair of Jimmy Choo silver 'Lance' sandals, and a pair of statement emerald and diamond drop earrings and this is a look that I can get behind for Mary.
I was one of the few who was not a fan of the Lanvin gown that Rachel McAdams wore to the Golden Globe Awards this past weekend and I am hoping for something better when she steps out for the Critics Choice Movie Awards. I picked this black Marchesa Notte Spring 2016 RTW gown which features cap sleeves, side cutouts, an open back, and gold embroidery on the stomach for Rachel who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress thanks to her role in the movie Spotlight. It has been a while since I have actually fully loved a look from Rachel and I would love to see her continue to get better and better, and I think that this gown would help her do exactly that. Finished with a Rauwolf black and gold lace "emerald-cut" clutch a pair of black Christian Louboutin pumps, a wavy bob, and a red lip this would be a perfect look for Rachel on the red carpet at the Critics Choice Awards.
Rooney Mara was one that I was intrigued to see what she was going to wear over the course of awards season and my interest is already fizzling out. It has been bland or black since the start and I while I know that is her MO, none of these looks have made me take notice of her. I would love to see Rooney wear this peachy pink Chanel Pre-Fall 2016 embroidered tea length gown with a plunging neckline. I think that this peachy color would be just what Rooney needs to make me start taking an interest in her style again and the feather embroidery helps with that as well. This is a very visually intersting gown and I think that it would make such a beautiful moment on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. Finish the look with a pair of simple gold sandals and pretty pink makeup and Rooney will for sure get me talking about her again.

2016 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 2

I was underwhelmed (as per usual) by Eva Green on the Golden Globes red carpet this past weekend (even though she was wearing Elie Saab Couture) and I am going to give her one more chance to redeem herself at the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday night. Nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her Showtime series Penny Dreadful I would love to see Eva wearing some color on the red carpet so that mean she would most likely wear a jewel tone so why not this ruby red Jenny Packham Resort 2016 batwing beaded gown? I think that the relaxed glamour of this silhouette (and it's color being one that Eva prefers) is exactly what I would love to see Eva wearing on the Critics Choice red carpet. Where this look that the potential to go bad is in the styling. A pair of black sandals, old Hollywood waves, a red lip, and a pair of diamond drop earrings would ensure that Eva has a top notch look on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet.
We haven't seen Hayden Panettiere on the red carpet in a hot minute and I am interested to see if she is going to show up at the Critics Choice Awards this weekend where she is nominated for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the hit ABC show Nashville. This would be Hayden's first major red carpet since she gave birth and what better platform to show off a rocking post-baby body? I think that this lemon yellow Naeem Khan Spring 2016 RTW twisted halter silk chiffon gown would look amazing on Hayden for this red carpet. I love that the bodice is fitted and flares out ethereally from the hips. A chic classic silhouette in a bold color is a perfect way to get back into the red carpet game. Finish this look with a pair of gold sandals, a yellow clutch, and a pair of yellow diamond earrings to ensure that Hayden has a beautiful red carpet look at the Critics Choice Awards.
The ever elegant Helen Mirren is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Critics Choice Movie Awards thanks to her work on the film Trumbo. I always find delight in Helen's formal red carpet ensembles and I am sure that her gown for the Critics Choice Awards. I picked this navy blue and black Akris Pre-Fall 2016 a-line embellished sleeveless gown for Helen to wear on the red carpet. Akris is not usually a brand that we see Helen wearing on the red carpet but I think that this gown would look amazing on her. I would imagine that Helen would have navy blue sheer sleeves added to this look to make it a little more sophisticated for her. If Helen finished this look with a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings, a navy clutch, navy pumps, and a red lip this could possibly be one of my favorite looks from the 70 year old actress.
Jennifer Lawrence delivered her best ever look on the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards this past week so I have a high expectation for her at the Critics Choice Awards. The actress, who won the Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy at the Globes, is nominated for Best Actress and Best Actress in a Comedy for Joy and Best Actress in an Action Movie for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 and I am really hoping she wow's me. I picked this gold Cushnie Et Ochs Pre-Fall 2015 "Zahara" draped silk charmuse gown for JLaw to wear for the Critics red carpet. While not as impact making as her red Dior Couture from the Globes this gown is chic and elegant, with a dash of refined glamour which is perfect for the Critics Choice Awards red carpet. Keeping the look ever glamorous with a pair of yellow diamond drop earrings, a gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, chic waves, and a fresh face of makeup will ensure that Jennifer keeps up a great red carpet streak.
Finally for today is my wish for Critics Choice Award nominee for Best Supporting Actress, and Golden Globe Award winning, Kate Winslet. I tend to get bored of Kate on the red carpet. She has a very cut and dry standard of wearing fitted looks on the red carpet (which she strays from very rarely) and I don't see that changing anytime soon. With that in mind I would still very much love to see Kate wear this emerald Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2016 double face duchesse satin strapless gown which features a mermaid silhouette with a structured bodice and a curved neckline. It has been a hot minute since I remember seeing Kate wearing a Zac Posen gown which surprises me because their red carpet MO's are the same. Keep the look chic with old Hollywood waves over one shoulder, a red lip, diamond drop earrings, and a pair of dyed to match pumps would ensure that Kate doesn't bore me on the red carpet.

2016 Critics Choice Awards Red Carpet Wish List Part 1

The Golden Globes are officially over, now it is time to move on to the next awards show of the season, the Critics Choice Awards. The 2016 Critics Choice Awards are on Sunday night and it is looking like it is going to be celebrity packed. This year the critics are combining the movie and television awards into one ceremony and with the star power I am excited to see which stars will show up. Alicia showed up to the Golden Globe Awards in a beautiful white sequined Louis Vuitton gown, proving that she continues to be the best brand ambassador for the brand, and I am quite intriguer to see what she will wear for the Critics Choice Awards this weekend. I love that Alicia has had many looks this red carpet season so far and yet only two have come from LV and I expect that she won't wear LV exclusively the whole season. For the Critics Choice Awards I would love to see Alicia wear this coral, red, purple, and black Alexis Mabille Pre-Fall 2016 Pre-Fall 2016 lace gown. There is a lot going on in this gown and it would take someone with a relaxed sophistication to make this work on a red carpet and I think that Alicia has exactly that type of look. The styling for this look should be kept extremely simple with just a chic updo, small diamond drop earrings, and a pair of black sandals finishing the look.
Brie Larson has been the breakout star this awards season. I knew Alicia would wow me but Brie had never really garnered any attention from me in the past, until the start of this year. Her golden Calvin Klein moment at the Golden Globes was one for her record books and I hope to continue to see her grow as a red carpet star. For the Critics Choice Awards on Sunday I would love to see Brie wearing this red Monique Lhuillier Spring 2016 RTW strapless peplum blouse and coral floral embroidered skirt. I think Brie would look incredibly chic wearing this gown on the red carpet but I am more feeling like she would show up wearing a custom gown by Michael Kors, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, or J. Mendel. If she were to wear this gown I would pair it with a red and gold Roger Vivier clutch, like the one Emmy Rossum carried at the Golden Globe Awards, a pair of gold pump, hair worn up, and a pink lip to keep the elegant nature of the gown going.
I got really excited at the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala when Cate Blanchett stepped out in an amazing custom Marc Jacobs gown because I thought that the red carpet queen was back, but then her pale pink fringed Givenchy Couture gown at the Golden Globe Awards happened. I have been on this roller coaster with Cate and I really want to see her back on top form. For the Critics Choice Awards I would love to see Cate wearing this roman armor inspired Valentino Fall 2015 Couture gold gown which features touches of red and black. Not many could make such a gown work off the red carpet and not have it come across looking like a costume, but I know that Cate has it inside her to make this look like she is a fierce warrior goddess. Finished with a sleek gold clutch, a pair of gold sandals, a sleek hairstyle and a red lip and this look could be a personal best for Cate.
Charlize Theron has not been on the red carpet at any of the awards events where her film Mad Max: Fury Road has been honored but I am hoping that Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards, where she is nominated for Best Actress and Best Actress in an Action Movie, that she will finally step out. As a Dior lady I am sure that Charlize will step out wearing the brand and I am hoping for a beautiful moment. I think that this yellow patterned Christian Dior Fall 2015 Couture column gown with a daring plunge would be perfect for this red carpet on Charlize. I love that this gown perfectly mashes together bohemian glamour and haute couture, which I think Charlize would look so effortlessly chic in. Loose waves, sun kissed makeup, a yellow Roger Vivier clutch, and a pair of gold sandals would finish this look off perfectly to ensure that Charlize just glows on the red carpet.
I am really hoping that Emily Blunt, who is nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie, will be on the red carpet Sunday night at the Critics Choice Awards. Emily Blunt is one of my favorite ladies to see on the red carpet because she always has this very chic glamour and I am really hoping she will be bringing it to the red carpet. I picked this chic pale pin and gold embroidered Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture ethereal gown for Emily because it has been a long time since she has had an ethereal moment and this gown is perfect for this red carpet. A chic romantic updo, a pink lip, a gold clutch, and gold sandals would just add the perfect finishing touches to this look.

Red Carpet Rundown: 2015 Critics Choice Movie Awards

I was shocked to see so many dramatic gowns at the Critics Choice Movie Awards last night. Pleasantly surprised to say the least. My favorite of the night had to be Keira Knightley wearing Delpozo Fall 2014 RTW. After the ghastly Chanel gown she wore to the Golden Globe Awards I was glad to see her back on top form. Emily Blunt looked very pretty in her custom tomato red Emilio Pucci halter gown. I was a little surprised to find out that this was Pucci because it isn't the norm when I think of the house. Julianne Moore made basic black anything but basic wearing a custom Saint Laurent gown. The gown gave me 60's Gothic glam and I loved seeing her wear this on the red carpet. While she might have been slightly overdressed in white Christian Dior Fall 2014 Couture, Marion Cotillard looked absolutely AMAZING in this gown. It was her best Dior look in a very long time, I might say since her last outing in a design by Galliano. And last but not least I have to say that Michelle Monaghan killed the red carpet in black lace Elie Saab Pre-Fall 2015 sleeveless gown. Everything about this look was on point, the hair, the makeup, and the simple styling.
Sadly there were some of my favorite ladies that really disappointed me. I have been watching Carmen Ejogo keep getting more are more accustomed to the red carpet and her Emilia Wickstead Spring 2015 RTW collection almost made my good list but the giant pockets at her waist just stood out to me like oven mitts. After a regal red carpet offering at the Golden Globes last Sunday that I was thoroughly disappointed in Felicity in this boring unflattering Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2015 RTW gown. The sheer bodice over a granny bra paired with a skirt that hits her at a place that makes her look wide was just a bad culmination of the ideas. Jessica Chastain REALLY let me down last night wearing an over-complicated Antonio Berardi Spring 2015 RTW gown. This gown could have, and should have, been simplified. The asymmetrical mandarin neckline just ruined what could have been an amazing red carpet look. Only a supermodel would have been able to pull off this gown as presented. When I learned that Reese Witherspoon's franken-gown was custom made for her by Lanvin you could have knocked me over with a feather. I think that had this gown been either fully fuchsia or fully black that this could have been an amazing look. The hair needed to be up and this would have been the perfect look to wear a statement necklace with. I was sadly disappointed. And finally I have had mixed feelings on Rosamund Pike in Valentino New York Sala Bianca 945 Haute Couture. On one hand I really love the skirt, but on the other I can not stand the bodice of this dress. When I am judging red carpets I keep a pad with all the stars a line for the dress identification and a line for the first comments that come to my mind. When I saw Rosamund what did I write down? Lumpy. The top made her look lumpy, and after all the skin that she showed at the Golden Globe Awards we all know that Rosamund is not lumpy.

Almost all of these women will be in attendance at the Screen Actors Guild Awards next Sunday night and I will be live tweeting the red carpet and the awards show with Kelly from Dream in Lace. Join me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) at 6 PM on Sunday January 25, 2015 for all kinds of fashion IDs and snarky commentary.

2015 Critics Choice Awards Wish List Part 3

When Keira Knightley stepped out in her custom Chanel butterfly gown at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, which personally made me think of Little House on the Prairie, the fashion industry gave a collective sigh. I had very high hopes for Keira and she really let me down. I am hoping that Thursday night at the Critics Choice Movie Awards, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "The Imitation Game" and Best Original Song for "Lost Stars" from "Begin Again," that Keira redeems herself in her red carpet dressing. I understand that dressing a burgeoning baby bump is difficult but many before her have worked the bump on a red carpet with great abandon. I am hoping that Keira reverts back to Michael Van Der Ham Spring 2015 RTW for this red carpet. Having worn a few looks from this collection during the promo tour for "The Imitation Game" last year I think that this is a huge possibility. This navy gown with an asymmetric neckline and 3-D embroidery would drape ever so elegantly over Keira's baby bump. Finish the look with a soft up do, a red lip, navy Chanel clutch, and a pair of navy pumps will give Keira the red carpet look that puts her back on the top of best dressed lists.
I was pleasantly surprised to see Rosamund pike give a new silhouette at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night. Her custom Vera Wang gown boasted many cut-out sections which showed off her post baby body, like seriously is she human? She just had a baby 5 weeks ago. I am hoping that she continues to show off her banging body at Thursday nights Critics Choice Movie Awards, where she is hoping to take home the Best Actress award for her work in "Gone Girl." This eggplant Azzaro Fall 2015 Couture figure hugging gown with an asymmetric neckline and strategically placed embellished cutouts on the bodice. I was a little weary, and totally ready to change this wish, about picking such a figure hugging gown but after Sunday nights look I know that Rosamund is red carpet ready. Finish the look with a black Edie Parker clutch, black Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals, simple diamond earrings, and her asymmetrical bob worn straight down Rosamund would really give me a wow moment on the red carpet.
I was not a huge fan of "Neighbors" but the Broadcast Film Critics Association has given Rose Byrne a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy at Thursday nights Critics Choice Movie Awards thanks to her work in the film. I have to say that I am excited to see what Rose will wear on the red carpet. I have always been a fan of Rose and I love what she brings to the red carpet. The moment I saw this Jenny Packham Pre-Fall 2015 cinnamon scoop neck gown that is completely beaded from top to bottom. I think that this amazing gown would look so elegant on Rose as it is classic silhouette. Finish the look with a gold box clutch, a pair of gold sandals, and a dazzling pair of diamond earrings inlaid in yellow gold, a chic low bun, and a soft pink lip to make sure that Rose holds her own on the Critics Choice Awards red carpet Thursday evening.
Shailene Woodley is nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie for "Divergent." I have to say I am excited to see what Shai will wear on the red carpet on Thursday night. Last year we saw Shailene work the red carpet in a bevy of fabulous looks looking the best she has ever had, in major part to her new stylist Ilaria Urbinati who works with Nina Dobrev and Bradley Cooper as well. I think that this red Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2015 short sleeve gown rendered in red silk double georgette and features a high round neck, cutwork at the bodice trimmed with tonal embroidery and a floor length fluted skirt with a train would be an amazing look for Shailene for this red carpet. I think the sleek sport silhouettes that hold just a touch of girly glam are the perfect looks for Shailene and her personality. Finish the look with hair pulled up neutral makeup and red Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals will make sure that the gown is the star of the show which it should be.
Last but not least we have a wish for androgynous beauty Tilda Swinton to wear for the Critics Choice Movie Awards, where she has a nomination for Best Supporting Actress thanks to "Snowpiercer." I love to see Tilda on the red carpet because you never know what she is going to be wearing and usually I love what she is brings to the carpets. The moment I saw this Valentino Fall 2014 Couture ensemble which consists of a white asymmetric tunic top and uber wide leg black pants I have been begging for Tilda to pick it up. I think that this fits the masculine meets feminine style that Tilda loves so much for the red carpet. Finish the look with a pair of the runways sandals or a pair of black pumps and this would be a perfect look for the Critics Choice Movie Awards.

Me and Kelly from Dream In Lace had so much fun Sunday night live tweeting the Golden Globe Awards, that we are going to do it all over again Thursday for the Critics Choice Movie Awards. Please join me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) at about 9 PM EST for all kinds of fashion ID's and LOTS of snarky commentary.

2015 Critics Choice Awards Wish List Part 1

With a snub at tonight's Golden Globe Awards, which I am not sure if we will see Mrs Jolie at or not, Angelina Jolie's Oscar campaign is off to a rough start. Her sophomore film as a director "Unbroken" did however earn her a nomination for Best Director at the Critics Choice Movie Awards Thursday night. We will know by the time to red carpet opens if her awards season journey will start and end in the evening or if she will continue on to Academy Awards as the film nominations come earlier that morning. For the Critics Choice Awards red carpet I would love to see Angie really bring a masculine dressing to its feminine knees by wearing this Saint Laurent Spring 2015 RTW suit ensemble. I love that the coat is a mix of vintage tail coat with an oversized double breasted suit jacket, add the masculine pant shape and the black chiffon blouse and I think that this is a look made for Angelina. Finish the look with flowing Veronica Lake waves, a red lip, diamond cluster earrings, and a pair of black Saint Laurent pumps and Angie is ready to take on the critics.
Surprisingly Emily Blunt's nomination at Thursday nights Critics Choice Movie Awards is not for "Into The Woods," instead she is nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie for her work in "Edge of Tomorrow." That one day 3 city 3 look promo tour was amazing and Emily really had a great 2014 on the red carpet and I am expecting that will continue through the 2015 Academy Awards. For the Critics Choice Awards I would love to see Emily wear this turquoise degrade Elie Saab Spring 2015 RTW silk georgette sleeveless gown. I love this color, it really is my favorite color, and I think that Emily is the right woman to take this gown and make it sing a beautiful song on the red carpet. Add a simple pair of diamond earrings, a turquoise clutch, and a pair of pool blue sandals to accessorize this look perfectly with a beauty look like a simple updo and a red lip and Emily will be like a cool drink of water working the Critics Choice Movie Awards red carpet.
Emma Stone always makes bold red carpet choices that usually leave me breathless. I think that this would be the case if she showed up at the 2015 Critics Choice Movie Awards, where she is nominated for Best Supporting Actress, wearing this black and white Nina Ricci Spring 2015 RTW patchwork lace gown that features a reverse halter neck, a sheer mesh back panel and an asymmetric draped skirt. I think that this gown is classic with a twist which is the perfect type of look for the Critics Choice Awards. Finish the look with a bold clutch, simple black sandals, a chic updo, and a bold red lip and Emma will have another look that would blow me away.
Felicity Jones has a red carpet safety zone when it comes to colors. She is usually in dark dark colors or in very pale colors. I figure that at the Critics Choice Movie Awards Thursday night we will see Felicity in a dark color. Nominated for Best Actress thanks to "The Theory of Everything," I would love to see Felicity wear this midnight blue Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2014 floral jersey cutout gown. I think that this classic silhouette is perfect for this awards show which is much less formal than tonight's Golden Globe Awards. A matching midnight blue Edie Parker clutch and dyed to match Charlotte Olympia pumps would finish this look off perfectly for the Critics Choice red carpet.
I do not like Jennifer Aniston, never have, and it is likely that I never will. I just do not understand her draw. She is boring and never breathes any life into the looks that she is wearing. Its like she is a tan mannequin with hair that matches the rest. She wears white, cream, nude, and black for every red carpet and mostly black. That is white I picked this Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2015 v-neck gown with an exaggerated keyhole at the back, and crystal beading throughout the floor length mermaid silhouette. While I do not think that she breaths any life into the looks she wears this classically pretty beaded gown the dress might make her shine where her personality lacks. Ok. Done.
Jennifer Lawrence is nominated for Best Actress in an Action Movie at Thursday nights Critics Choice Movie Awards. The Dior darling usually takes this awards show off wearing the French couture houses creations. I am hoping, even though she is not confirmed to attend any of the major awards shows, that that trend continues. I would love to see JLaw wear this stunning black and white Prabal Gurung Spring 2015 RTW gown that features a racerback overlay with a high round neck that splits at the back over an embellished turquoise strapless bustier gown with sheer floor length skirt.I think that this is the type of look that Jen needs to wear on the red carpet, chic and elegant yet very sporty all at the same time, not overly fussy Dior couture. Finish this look with a pair of black sandals and some simple diamond drop earrings and Jennifer is set to rock the Critics Choice red carpet.

I will be live tweeting the Golden Globe Awards tonight. If you want to join the conversation I will be joining Kelly from Dream In Lace with a live Twitter commentary on what all the stars are wearing. So please join me (@FutureStylist93) and Kelly (@DreamInLace) at about 5 PM EST for all kinds of fashion ID's and LOTS of snarky commentary. We are also planning to take the commentary to the Critics as well on Thursday night starting at 9 PM EST. We hope that you will join in the festivities! Champagne at the ready!

2014 Critics Choice Television Awards Wish List Part 3

Angie Harmon from the TNT drama "Rizzoli & Isles" will be on hand tomorrow night at the Critics Choice Television Awards held at the Beverly Hilton as a presenter. I either love or hate Angie on the red carpet and I am hoping that it will be the former when it comes to tomorrow night. I think that this sleek silk jersey Ralph Lauren Pre-Fall 2014 long sleeved gown with a plunging neckline in wheat is the perfect balance between sporty and glamour which is exactly what Angie needs on the red carpet. I would style her hair in a sleek up do with a fresh face of makeup, like they did on the runway. A small sliver leather minaudiere, a pair of silver simple sandals, and a pair of diamond cluster earrings would put the perfect finishing touches on this presenter perfect look.
Christina Applegate is another presenter scheduled to take to the stage tomorrow night at the 2014 Critics Choice Awards. I don't really know what to expect when it comes to Christina. I used to be blown away by her in the likes of Elie Saab and Roberto Cavalli Couture, but I don't think that is what is going to make an appearance on Christina tomorrow night. I think that this black Sally LaPointe Fall 2014 RTW black silk wool degrade gown with hand beaded appliques would be an amazing option. I saw this gown walk the runway back in February at New York Fashion Week and I am praying that it will get a major red carpet moment. Sally has had a major year red carpet wise dressing lots of stars for their big appearances. Finish this look with a black Edie Parker clutch, a pair of simple Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals in black, a diamond bracelet, and a pair of simple diamond cluster earrings to ensure that Christina stands out in her black gown.
When I read that Diane Kruger is going to be a presenter at the Critics Choice Awards tomorrow night I will admit I let out a bit of a squeal. I love seeing Diane take to the red carpet and I know she will bring the high fashion factor to a red carpet that is usually dominated by stereotypically "pretty" gowns. We have not seen Diane wear a look from Christian Dior since it has been helmed by Raf Simons and I think that it is finally time that we do. This black silk chiffon overlay gown that covers a knee length cocktail dress with a circle print that is completely made up of white sequins. This is a more sporty look that we are used to Diane rocking but I seriously believe that this would look stunning. At 5 foot 7 inches Diane is not the tallest woman but I think that she could rock this gown better than the six foot tall model. A white Edie Parker clutch, a pair of black Stuart Weitzman "Nudist" sandals, a sporty hairstyle, and a red lip would ensure that Diane rocks this look like only a true fashionista could.
Black....that is the red carpet usual for Elisabeth Moss. This fact makes me sad because when she first made it on the red carpet she would work gowns in a bevy of colors. I am hoping that when she takes to the stage as a presenter tomorrow at the Critics Choice Television Awards tomorrow that she brings a bold colorful look. This magenta Monique Lhuillier Resort 2015 one shoulder gown with a side cutout and pleated skirt is a perfect look for Elisabeth. I think that the sporty nature of this gown is perfect for the Critics Choice Awards. Elisabeth is not nominated or on the fashion queen level of Diane Kruger so a "pretty" gown is called for. I would just pair this look with gold pumps and a bold lip color to make sure that Elisabeth makes the best dressed list and not the worst dressed list she has been frequenting.

2014 Critics Choice Television Awards Wish List Part 2

Amy Poehler is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy Series at the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards come Thursday evening. I am hoping to see Amy keep up her awesome run from the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, even if it was in all black. I am picking yet another black gown for Amy to wear Thursday night but I believe that she is taking small steps to looking even more amazing than she used to. This body hugging Kaufmanfranco Fall 2014 RTW black sheath gown with a sweeping train and under bust cutout is perfect for Amy to wear. I do believe that this gown has cutouts on the hips as well but I would have this look modified to remove those. A black sparkling clutch, a pair of simple Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals in black, and a pair of pretty and simple diamond earrings would ensure that Amy looks absolutely fantastic on the Critics Choice red carpet.
The HBO film "The Normal Heart" has garnered Julia Roberts a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series at the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards. After giving me disappointing look after disappointing look during awards season I do not have high hopes if she even attends Thursday's red carpet. I figure that Julia will turn back to one of her favored brands Valentino, Givenchy, or Dolce & Gabbana. I am picking this black Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2014 RTW lace long sleeve gown for Julia. Nothing inspiring but typical Julia.
Minnie Driver has given some awesome red carpet looks in the past as a supporting actress at movie premieres and I am hoping that she kills it Thursday night at the Critics Choice Television Awards where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Movie or Mini-Series for her Lifetime film "Return to Zero." This navy Vivienne Westwood Gold Label Resort 2015 gown is typical of the Westwood legacy but I think that Minnie would look absolutely stunning wearing this amazing creation. A sparking navy Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver sandals, and some stunning diamond and sapphire earrings would make this look stand out even with its classic silhouette and muted colors.
Robin Wright usually sticks to covered up black ensembles when she takes to the red carpet. In the past two years she has made 8 red carpet appearances in black, black and white, nude, and navy so dark it might as well have been black and all very basic designs at that. I am hoping to see Robin revert back to the stunning red carpet dresser that she used to be prior to her divorce from Sean Penn. I have picked this Prabal Gurung Resort 2015 lace sequin embroidered lace cap sleeve top gown with a black and ink blue chiffon skirt for Robin to wear on the red carpet Thursday night where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for the Netflix original series "House of Cards." It is not way to far out of her usual comfort zone but it is all at the same time. A pair of simple Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals in black, an ink blue Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of simple diamond cluster earrings would help waltz Robin right back onto the worlds Best Dressed lists.

2014 Critics Choice Televison Awards Wish List Part 1

The First Lady of "Scandal" Bellamy Young is nominated at the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on the hit political drama. She has come a long way from her start slowly growing better red carpet options. Last week at the closing ceremony of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, Bellamy rocked a sexy Naeem Khan gown and I am hoping that her stellar run will continue at the Critics Choice Awards. This ivory Oscar de la Renta Spring 2014 RTW strapless tiered column gown would be a regal elegant choice for Bellamy to make for the awards show. A pair of gold drop earrings, a gold Edie Parker clutch, and a pair of gold strappy sandals would give this the perfect finishing touches for the red carpet on Thursday.
Emmy Rossum will be playing double duty come the 2014 Critics Choice Television Awards on Thursday night. Emmy is not only nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for "Shameless" but is also going to be a presenter for the awards show. Emmy rocks all of the best American designers and is one of my absolute favorite stars to see take to the red carpet. For her big night I would love to see Emmy wear this amazing ice blue Jason Wu Resort 2015 minimalist a-line ball gown. While she might have to fight Diane Kruger for this gown, as Diane is also a presenter (my wish for her to come on Wednesday), I would love to see Emmy rock this gown as I know she would do so with great aplomb. A pink lip, a silver Edie Parker clutch, a pair of silver Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals, as well as some simple Harry Winston earrings would make this look perfect for the Critics Choice Television Awards on Thursday night.
When it comes to the red carpet Julia Louis-Dreyfus is either a big hit or a huge miss to me. She had hits at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards earlier this year in Narciso Rodriguez and Monique Lhuillier respectively. I am hoping that Julia is able to keep up her big run when it comes to Thursday night's Critics Choice Television Awards where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy. I think that this red Notte by Marchesa Fall 2014 RTW halter lace gown would look stunning on Julia. I think that this neckline is one that always works for her and I don't think I could tire of seeing her wearing. A pair of satin peep toe pumps dyed to match the color of the gown, a pair of gold drop diamond earrings, and a gold and diamond bracelet would make this gown shine for Julia's big night.
Julianna Margulies is one of the few stars who could snag a couture gown for the red carpet and I am really hoping that she does. After sticking to her signature color, black, for the Golden Globes and White House Correspondents Dinner, I am hoping that Julianna will bring some color to the red carpet come Thursday night where she is nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series for "The Good Wife." I think that this blue Armani Prive Spring 2014 Couture strapless gown with all its hand embroidery and embellishments is a stunning choice that Julianna should make for the Critics Choice Television Awards. Julianna has worn a few Armani Prive gowns before and I have never been a fan but I believe that this would be the perfect pairing. A small silver clutch, a pair of silver sandals, and simple but jaw dropping diamonds (in her ears and on her wrist) would send this look over the edge and make international best dressed looks.
