Haute Couture Wish List: Christian Dior

Christian Dior finally showed its first collection featuring new creative director, Raf Simons. The designer, formerly of Jil Sander, picked up where he left off with the Jil Sander Fall 2012 RTW collection. I am not sure how well the minimalism that Simons tends to favor will mix with the historically extravagant house with former creative directors such as Yves St Laurent, Gianfranco Ferre, and John Galliano on top of the legacy left behind by Monsieur Dior himself. Emma Stone is one who has worn Dior and always looks stunning and I think that this edgy strapless top with a peplum and cigarette pants would look amazing on her.
Jennifer Lawrence was front row at Simons Dior debut and I am hoping to no doubt pick out gowns and ensembles for future red carpet appearances. Jennifer does minimalism so well so I think that this simple yellow long sleeved ballgown would look amazing on her!
Marion Cotillard is a woman who is a face of Dior as well as a long time friend of John Galliano so it will be interesting to see if she wears the new collections or if she digs into the archives to wear Galliano's designs. If she wears the new collections I would love to see her wear this just bellow the knee pink strapless coat style dress. Maybe for film festival premieres this fall!
Natalie Portman is someone who I love to see on the red carpet. She tends to favor edgy brands like Givenchy, Rodarte, and Lanvin but is also a face of Christian Dior. I think that this ensemble is the edgy type of ensemble Natalie tends to favor a pink strapless top with an attached split open skirt paired with black cigarette pants.
