The eccentric Australian indie pop star Lorde is nominated for Best Original Song, Motion Picture for her hit song "Yellow Flicker Beat" from "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1" at the Golden Globe Awards this coming Sunday. I am excited to see what the awkward red carpet star will wear for her big night amongst the film and television elite. Having established a relationship with Karl Lagerfeld and the House of Chanel, I could find no better option for her to wear than this grey Chanel Fall 2014 Couture tea length gown which features an embellished crop top that is embellished with crystals and cement beads. I think that this hard meets soft off the wall look would make for a perfect red carpet look for Lorde. I would pair the look with the runways concrete embellished flat sandals, her hair in its natural curly manner, and purple lipstick to make this a perfect look for the young singer for her first Movie/TV awards show.
What would awards season be without a nomination for the goddess Meryl Streep? This would definitely come as a shock, and thankfully we are not going to find out just yet. The iconic actress is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role as the witch in "Into The Woods." I recently saw this film and Meryl was absolutely fabulous but I do not believe that this role will give her the Globe but every actress in the category is absolutely amazing. For the event I would love to see Meryl wear this navy blue Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2015 floral bouquet silk faille off the shoulder ball gown with an overlapping fold-over detail at the neckline with a fitted bodice,
long sleeves, and a full ball skirt with a vibrant floral print. I saw this gown in the lookbook and immediately put this gown on reserve for Meryl for awards season in my mind. Finish the look with a chic up do, red lip, gold sandals, and a red clutch to ensure that Meryl looks absolutely amazing on the Golden Globes red carpet this coming Sunday night.
"Wild" has earned Reese Witherspoon a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama and I really can not wait to see what she will wear on the red carpet come Sunday night. During her promo tour for this film, which included the Toronto International Film Festival and London Film Festival, Reese wore black almost exclusively. She also wore black and white to the unofficial awards season kick off, so I am hoping and praying for color at the Golden Globe Awards. This is why I picked this pale pink Antonio Berardi Spring 2015 RTW
sleeveless silk organza gown that features a fully embroidered attached
cape. This is a simple gown from the front but definitely has a dramatic back. A pair of light gold Jimmy Choo 'Vamp' platform sandals, a light pink Edie Parker 'Lara' clutch, some Van Cleef & Arpels Pierres de Caractère Precious Light earrings, and a vintage Van Cleef & Arpels gold and diamond chain link bracelet would
be the perfect accessories to compliment this ensemble. Finish the look
with an old Hollywood up-do, simple eye makeup, and a red lip so that
it will be sure that Reese has the perfect red carpet moment.
Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama nominee for "Gone Girl" Rosamund Pike has always been a favorite on the red carpet and since she just gave birth a few short weeks ago it will be interesting to see what she will bring to the red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday. At the Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala Rosamund wore a trapeze dress that did not show any of her post baby body. I am hoping that she shows it off come Sunday night. This light to dark red ombre Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture chiffon gown with a deep v-neckline would be an AMAZING red carpet moment. I would imagine that with the right shapewear and corsetry that any lingering problem areas would be relatively hidden and all that would be left would be Rosamund looking like she is ready to take home a Globe. Accessorize the look with the matching Elie Saab runway clutch, a pair of red sandals, a pair of diamond chandelier earrings, and a diamond bracelet to ensure that the gown is allowed to sing. A red lip, simple bun, and her fabulous smile are the last perfect finishing touches to ensure that all eyes will be on her.
