Best Dressed of August 2015

August was a real slow month for red carpets. Most months I have 50+ contenders for the 10 spots on the monthly Best Dressed list. This month I only had 30 women but they were still all worthy contenders. Sarah Jessica Parker worked the red carpet at the opening night of the Broadway show "Hamilton" in a stunning emerald green Elie Saab Fall 2015 Couture spaghetti strap ball gown. I have been waiting to see a drop dead beautiful red carpet gown from SJP on the red carpet and this defiantly did me disappoint. SJP styled this gown very simply with flowing waves and emerald green eye shadow. I definitely applaud this look and it will be one that I remember when it comes to the Best Dressed of the Year list. Ana Beatriz Barros may have looked over dressed to be a guest at the wedding of Beatrice Borromeo to Pierre Casiraghi wearing an embellished light blue Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture with its ruffled peplum gown. I probably would have put this at the top of my list had SJP not really shown up at the "Hamilton" premiere. When Alicia Vikander signed with Louis Vuitton I was really sad because she is really beautiful and LV tends to ruin its brand ambassadors. This two piece Louis Vuitton Cruise 2016 crop top and maxi skirt that she wore to the "Man From U.N.C.L.E." LA premiere was one of my absolute favorite looks from Alicia ever. Kate Bosworth has always been a favorite of mine and I was incredibly impressed by her light brown Balmain Resort 2016 suede safari inspired long sleeve mini dress for the Summer TCA tour.

Celine Dion made a triumphant return to the stage at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace after a year long hiatus looking absolutely stunning. In the year of Celine re-costumed almost her entire show and this silver embellished Zuhair Murad Fall 2015 Couture long sleeved gown. What a shining moment to make her return with. Kristen Stewart has never been one of my favorite red carpet stars but I have to say that when she dons Zuhair Murad its almost always an amazing red carpet moment. This Zuhair Murad Resort 2016 floral sequined playsuit, at the "American Ultra" New York premiere, showed off fun, flirty, and sexy sides of Kristen that we never actually get to see. Jamie Chung gives us the street style aspect of this months Best Dressed list. Jamie showed off her summer sartorial style out and about in Hollywood wearing a Proenza Schouler skirt, a chambray shirt, Anya Hindmarch tote, and Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandals. This is how you work the sidewalk runway to ensure that all eyes are on you.

Sonam Kapoor had a slightly sad run at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival but she completely redeemed herself wearing this nude Palo Sebastian Couture gown with a stunning lace cape for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne Awards Night. This regal ensemble slightly reminds me of the traditional Indian sari but was honoring the host nation by wearing one of their native designers. Mena Suvari is very underrated when it comes to the red carpet. Her oxblood Vatinaka 50's inspired cocktail dress at the "She's Funny That Way" was immaculate and the styling, which included a Christian Louboutin clutch and Bionda Castana pumps, just sealed this look as a shoe-in for this list. Last but not least rounding out the top 10 looks of August is Olivia Palermo who attended the StyleWatch x Revolve Fall Fashion Party putting her summer best forward. Her look which included a blue Johanna Ortiz Spring 2016 RTW off the shoulder blouse, jeans, a pair of embellished Dolce & Gabbana shoes, and a colorful Analeena bag could not have been more chic.
