Runway Report: Tome Spring/Summer 2016 RTW

Tome SS16 RTW
I feel like I have been saying this a lot about the collections at the front end of New York Fashion but Tome Spring/Summer 2016 RTW was really everything that the cool downtown meets uptown girl in New York City really needs. There were looks in this collection could take a chic modern woman from the boardroom to cocktail to a red carpet and she would look extremely chic, lets call it one stop shopping. Black, white and silver were popped with lemon, pink, eggplant, army green, and petrol blue. We saw loads of ruffles and sparkle that was counterbalanced with simplistic silhouettes and some takes on borrowed from the boys. American fashion photographer Roxanne Lowit's work served as one of the inspiration for this collection. Lowit was famous for her behinds the scenes photos from the fashion and club scene in the 1970s and 1980s. You saw those decades referenced without being literal. The oversized ruffles nodded the 80s while the fluid silk gowns nodded the 70s. Overall I gotta say that this collection was a huge success, oh and those sunnies are to die for.
