Prabal Gurung was inspired by the disastrous earthquake in his native home of Nepal for his Spring/Summer 2016 RTW collection. Prabal was not inspire by the devastation that was left in the wake of the natural disaster, but the spirit of the people. The show opened with a group of monks dressed in their traditional red and yellow robes chanting a prayer thanking all those in the fashion industry who helped Prabal raise money for the victims of the earthquake. The first look out was a white draped dress emblazoned with a thick orange and yellow brushstroke print that I have forever labeled the bacon dress. Once I realized exactly what the print was I was instantly in love. Each look that came down the runway was better than the last. I was really disappointed that more people didn't wear the Prabal Gurung Fall/Winter 2015 RTW collection, but I don't think that we are going to have a problem seeing any of this collection on the backs of celebrities on the red carpet. There are so many looks that are just screaming to be worn to film festivals, movie premieres, and awards shows. While my love for the now infamous bacon dress refuses to falter, my favorite look in the collection was the orange finale halter gown with its flowing layered chiffon skirt. Elizabeth Banks LOVES orange and the final promo tour for "The Hunger Games" saga is coming up, someone get this gown to her stat for one of the premieres!
